Apart from wearing a mask to order, Joe's is still Joe's. Hot fresh seafood and fries cooked to order and eat under the umbrella. Unbeatable!

    Lobster roll alone $20

Working in the hospitality industry, I completely understand food prices have gone up. But for $20 I was disappointed in this lobster roll. Served on a small hot dog bun with a few chunks. With a hot dog, fries and a soda for $37 bucks we were still hungry after. The lobster itself was decent.

    Delicious lobster roll.

Joe's Home Cookin' is the place to be! We stopped in there when we saw the enormous lobster sign because we were shocked to see lobster in the middle of Vermont. Let me tell you, this stop might have been one of the best decisions I've ever made. The lobster roll is super fresh and the portion is extremely generous, especially for $10. It's served Maine style (warm w/ butter) an comes with a side of hand cut fries and some of the best coleslaw I've ever had. Joe, the owner, is from Florida so he loves his seafood and makes sure to only serve the freshest lobster, clams and shrimp. Also he, along with the cook, Fred, are two awesome dudes. If you see it in your travels make sure to stop by, you will not be disappointed.

I'm a New Yorker and it's rare to find fresh and delicious seafood. This little place have done a wonderful job in achieving the flavors of fresh seafood. I ordered the lobster roll platter and the fried scallops platter to share with my boyfriend. The lobster roll was very tasty; lightly-buttered bread with fresh lobster. It didn't need other condiments to make it better. It also came with fries, cole slaw and a pickle. As for the fried scallops, it was very fresh and tasty. The tartar sauce is homemade! Only downfall is that we paid $13 for six pieces of small scallops with the sides. Joe, the owner, is extremely nice! He was making sure we enjoyed the food. He makes everything from scratch every morning - a plus! If you're in the area, definitely try it out!!

a plate of french fries and golf tees

Outrageous. Sitting directly in the sun w/2 kids and staff forbids us to use the shade umbrellas on tables b/c they are "$100" each. A lovely spot but the height of inconsiderate. See pic of $5 fries and $12.50 lobster roll (kids said tasty) but extremely skimpy on meat and both kids said there was some shell in their meal. This was really disappointing in that we've never had such an experience anywhere in the Deerfield Valley. My recommendation is to GO TO WAHOOS, fresh food, right on the creek and they welcome customers.

The best lobster rolls anywhere! The shack is scaled down from the old one but quality is great.

You cannot beat the freshness of the lobster roll here. Good price and perfectly served with slightly salted warm butter. Worth a trip!

If you told me I'd find some of the best seafood of my life in landlocked Southern Vermont, I…read moreprobably wouldn't have believed you--but Anchor Seafood House & Grille is the real deal. This place has been a Wilmington staple since 1997, and you can tell they've spent the last nearly 30 years perfecting the craft. The atmosphere is incredible. While the original 1850s building was lost to a fire in 2010, the current space is a beautiful, faithful replica that feels historic and cozy. It's the perfect spot for a post-ski dinner or a summer night out. Here's the breakdown of what you need to order: The Chowder: This is proper New England clam chowder. It's thick, rich, and loaded with clams--not just a bowl of potatoes and heavy cream. It's the ultimate comfort food. Steamers: You have to start with the steamers. They are clean, sweet, and served the traditional way with a side of broth and drawn butter. It's a messy, delicious classic that they do perfectly here. Whole Belly Clams: These are the gold standard. They're lightly breaded, perfectly fried, and have that sweet, briny pop you usually only find at a roadside shack on the Maine coast. If you're a fan of "the bellies," don't skip these. The Lobster: I went for the steamed lobster, and it was impeccable. Succulent chunks of fresh meat and just the right amount of butter. It tasted like it was caught that morning. It's rare to find a spot that balances a "fancy night out" feel with such unpretentious, high-quality food. Whether you're a local or just passing through for the foliage, make sure you stop here.

Very dated on the inside but I think that's supposed to be part of it's "charm". We were one of maybe four parties (all less than 3 people in each) and the server, who was a semi-nice older woman, seemed SO lost and overwhelmed for the place not being busy. Very frazzled and it took a while to get drink refills and the additional sauce we had originally ordered with our meal. The menu isn't vast, so don't go in expecting to try something new. We opted for the Vermont burger, and the Double Smash burger. They were....eh. Nothing to write home about. Being known for their fresh ingredients (according to google) I would have to disagree. Everything seemed pretty standard..frozen fries/frozen patties etc. Maybe I am wrong but that's how it had tasted.

Menu on line is not the dated menu we were offered. Not worth the stop.

A fairly short drive brought me to this little seafood shack; it is located in what seemed to be a kind of out of the way neighborhood. From the outside it looks charming, just a nice New England hang out; inside is even better with 2 compact dining rooms decorated with a nautical theme and a metal roof. When I arrived at about 6 on a Friday night the place was almost full with a couple of larger parties enjoying themselves. The menu is great for me since it is almost exclusively fish and seafood, with a good selection of preparations; even better there was another page of specials that are a bit more upscale. Since I was hungry and just wanted to keep it simple I choose the all you can eat fish fry off the menu. Considering how busy the restaurant was my meal came out in about 10 minutes. A nice basket with 4 fish fillets, fries and coleslaw. The highlight was clearly the fish with perfectly cooked moist white fish in a great batter with just enough spices to perk the fish up. The fish was so good that I actually finished the 4 fillets and then got 2 more. The fries were very thin cut and crispy. The coleslaw is what you would expect, good but nothing special. I was very impressed with Adirondack Seafood, the fish was excellent and the sides were good. The price was reasonable and the portions were generous. Service was good and the atmosphere is charming and fun. I would strongly recommend giving them a try. About the only downside is that outside of fish and seafood there are not a lot of choices; not an issue for a pescetarian like me but could be an issue for those who are serious carnivores.
