We lucked into finding this local spot while passing through town! The food was delicious. I had the Pane Gamberini (jumbo shrimp) appetizer for my dinner and snuck a few bites of my husband's Tour of Italy. Ended the dinner with chocolate cake for dessert. The staff and our waiter were so very nice and attentive. Just wish I had worked up the nerve to ask where he was from. Almost everyone had wonderful accents. A definite plus to the experience. We found a gem in the desert! The building is unassuming and the interior is simple but clean. Our waitress was super attentive (good luck in your studies). Fast service, piping hot food. Thumbs up for the spinach, meat stuffed manicotti and triple meat spaghetti. read more

We came here on the recommendation from My Daddy's BBQ in Carlsbad by the family that staff that location as a suggestion for our Anniversary dinner tonight. 5/9/2026. We will tell you the portions of the food were outstanding and ambiance was beautiful. The staff was great and our waitress Kimberly was so outgoing and very professional. Her beautiful smile and wholesome personality showed. Definitely would recommend asking for her section. On my annual summer road trip, and after visiting the caverns, I was super hungry. I decided to check this place out because they had gluten-free options for my husband. We arrived early, around 4 pm, and the restaurant was empty. There were so many options; I couldn't make up my mind. Our server, Summer, was so helpful, patient, and friendly. The portions were huge, reasonably priced, and delicious. I was super satisfied and happy. I wish they had wine and cocktails. I highly recommend and will return next time I'm in town. read more

Delicious!! Great service and wonderful food! Nice atmosphere. We (husband, co-worker, and myself) ordered cheese sticks, calzones and pasta dishes and loved every bite! Our waitress said the calzones were made with homemade bread, and truly the best I've tasted yet! We were driving from the Cavern and sooo hungry! So happy to find Joes! read more

Food was absolutely the best Italian food I've had in the USA. It was just like being back in Italy when I was in the military. Authentically spot on!! Randomly wanted Italian in while in Carlsbad and it did not disappoint!! Would go back in a heartbeat.

Come hungry portions are huge! Six of us ate different dishes and all were tasty! Waitstaff was great!

We have been trying to get in for three weeks. The restaurant is usually packed and for good reason. The food was spectacular! Our waiter was sub par (had to wait and ask for drink refills, got my pasta order wrong, was always setting at a table at the far side with a group of girls) fortunately, the rest of the staff was phenomenal and made up for our inattentive waiter (the rest of the staff was busting their bu##$). We will eat there frequently. My wife loved her Chicken Alfredo as well as everything else. Would give the restaurant a 5 and the waiter a 2 so we will even it out to a 4 (yes the food is that good)! read more

I was pleasantly surprised to find delicious Italian food in Carlsbad, NM. Linguini tutomare was enough for 2 people to share, and had a generous amount of seafood. Tasty marinara sauce. Side salad accompanying the linguini, was also large size. Bread rolls and olive oil for dipping were a wonderful surprise. The only issue is parking is limited and needs improvement. read more

Our server Seldi (I believe that's his name) was amazing! The food was exceptionally good and we got out of there with desert for $75 including a $20 tip!!! I thought that with all the cars parked in their lot they must be good. Boy was I wrong! Absolutely the worst Italian food I've ever had!

The ambience was very cozy. The food was delicious! The manicotti is cheesy salty goodness. I absolutely love the spinach and artichoke dip. Also their pizzas are really yummy. Service is good, but they do seem like they are trying to get you in and out of there. I have eaten in house, and taken it to go, both times was delish! read more

We love authentic Italian cuisine. My husband grew up eating many meals in his Italian friend's home. Joes Italian was amazing. The waiter was very helpful with our order. The oil for the bread dipping was very flavorful. In fact, the whole meal was a culinary delight in pairing herbs.He got the Fra Diavolo and I ordered the lobster stuffed ravioli with shrimp in a cream sauce. Both were excellent. Desserts of Tiramisu and cannoli finished off the perfectly prepared meal. Would highly recommend. Don't miss if you are in the Carlsbad area. read more

We were really looking forward to a nice early dinner (SUN, 4pm) to try this new business. Unfortunately, it was a little chaotic when we arrived. We knew we would have to wait a little bit but when people coming in after us started to be seated before us (we were party of 2). I asked where we were on the list. Didn't get a respinse. As I watched the "list" I could tell it was unorganized which probably led to us being overlooked. This continued to happen so we decided to leave as they were closing early (@ 6pm) due to running out of food. I did get a look at some of the dishes being served and they looked and smelled delicious and people we knew that left said we wouldn't be disappointed. That is why I give them 4 stars. I am sure it is good and as they just recently opened, they just need to work out the check-in process. We wouldn't want to be disappointed if it happened agin. So, we'll visit again in a couple of months when they find their rhythm. read more

Went for the first time the other night for dinner. It was busy but not overwhelmingly so. There was a good selection of dishes on the menu. Service was excellent! I got the caciofini with veal, and my husband got the tour of Italy. Both came with side salads. We were both very happy with our food. Excellent flavors! We left sufficiently full and with leftovers. Not the fanciest place aesthetically, but it was pleasant. We'll definitely be returning. read more
