Sam's Take Out is the section to go to when the house is being renovated and in need for lunch for the workers. On the web , the restaurant is opened at 11am but the take out section is open before 10:30. My 1st time at Sam 's like the old saying early birds catches the worm, that exactly what I got, nothing but freshness , each bite from slice has the crispness of the crust with the taste of the char on the bottom, they are very generous on toppings. The Italian wrap is made fresh and pressed nicely in the panini maker to keep a tight seal. You can dine in but it's tight and limited. Outdoor dining is the way to go. Meter parking is across the street. Theres plenty of workers in the kitchen to keep the movement of food being distribute to customer's

Want to hear Italian New York accents? This servers and staff are friendly, lovely indoor atmosphere, tables are not on top of each other so you can enjoy the conversation of your table mates. Enticing selection on the daily specials, nice variety of seafood and pasta offerings on the menu. Let's talk about the food... was the chef on vacay this weekend? I ordered the orecchiette, (a wonderful southern italian dish, with small region based pasta, broccoli rabe and sun dried tomatoes) and thought my pandemic tastebuds were kicking in...where was the flavor? It was bland and saturated in oil. The garlic slices must've been sitting around for a while, because there was no flavor. The chicken scarpariello, did not consist of the traditional chicken thighs... instead there were five pieces of chicken breasts, three small pieces of sausage (not equivalent to a half sausage) and some peppers. Well....my fellow diner got sick that evening and it wasn't digested well. Where was the traditional chicken thigh and sweet sausage for this meal? The fettuccine Alfreda sauce was soupy rather than the thick Alfredo base. And the finale... shrimp fra diávolo was beautifully plated, gi-normous meaty shrimp plated with a ring of fresh mussels. The heat was lacking on this dish - where was the pepper? Previous to this evening we ordered NY italian cheese pizza which was awesome! Nice thin crust and fresh cheese. I would definitely stick to the pizza here.....

But Really....It's Tasty

Sometimes when I give places a 3, people may think that it's a bad review. Actually, the 3 doesn't mean it's bad- it just means that it was average. It's just that I'm used to eating certain things one way so when I'm offered it differently, I'm sidetracked. It is what it is. As soon as we finished with our errands in Dobbs Ferry, hubs decided to come here for a wholesome meal. Located on Main St. in town, sidewalk seating was in full effect and poppin on a Friday night turning the dial on with a music duo playing Journey, Chicago, etc renditions. Sam's is huge- almost looks like it takes 1/2 a block. May be an exaggeration- but even from where we sat, there was still another dining room to our right, the center where we sat and a spacious bar area to the left. Although Sam's isn't pushing any boundaries, the food was ok. Bread basket was warm and filled. My Lemon Drop Martini was potent and knocked me out silly and our cold Seafood salad was good. Hubs went for the grilled pork chops and I decided on the grilled swordfish. While hubs has ordered tasty pork chops elsewhere, these, according to him were nothing extravagant- but ok. My swordfish steak was skimpy, dry and left most. Now, coming from a Pescatarian, when a seafood dish isn't up to par, that says a lot but I'll call it how it is. Plates aside, the feel here is relaxed and lively with great service.

My chicken scarpariello slice

Stopped in over the weekend for some pizza. We sat outside at one of the covered tables. It was a nice area. We ordered a chicken Parm slice a chicken scarpariello slice and a couple of plain slices. The pizza was great, extremely crispy. The scarpariello was garlicky with a hot kick to it and just perfect. Loved it! There is nothing soggy about their pizza! The crust is very crispy and holds up. The chicken Parmesan was also a taste sensation. Large chunks of breaded cutlet and a great marinara sauce. It truly was a perfect lunch!

Haven't been here in couple of years, we happen to like this place very much but it's not on the way to anywhere for us. Very busy place during prime dinner hour. They also do a very brisk takeout business. Great for families. Old Italian comfort food, great pizzas, never been disappointed with food or service. Very reasonably priced. Try it, you'll like it.

Our son and cousin live in Dobbs Ferry so this place is a local hot spot…read more Very cordial management and they remember you after a couple of visits Electric Italian with a very large offering. Been there multiple time and have taken food home for take out at home. Large portions at reasonable prices. We live in California and we will be taking 3 new people this Friday for dinner. I call directly to make a reservations. Great people and great food. Could you ask for anything more than that.

But since we wrapped up with errands in the area, Scaramella's was it. Located in a mini strip mall in Dobbs Ferry, Scaramella's is very old-school- but with a splash of class and then some. Once you pass the foyer, their bar area greets you followed by their large dining room. At about 5pm on a Saturday, you can be seated with no issues. Any time after that, folks start piling up. Our server Anne Marie was no bull-shitter; got to the chase when she gave me a hush-hush tip on a Pear Salad I was eyeing. She's my girl alright. Our appetizers, were plentiful and tasty. Forget our main plates- because if you think you'll be getting a polite portion of pasta or any meal at that- think again. I honestly don't know if hub's spinach pasta was homemade- but that sucker was good. My $40 Swordfish+fresh carrots with an unexpected corn+ spinach medley, was tasty and abundant. Actually, I had leftovers. Can I also mention that these folks don't play around with their pours because my Lemon Drop was potent! Listen, I don't care that Scaramella's is located in strip mall or that my auntie-in-law didn't enjoy her meal years ago. From the looks of it, this place is happy-loud and has character. And no, it's not totally easy to park outside. That aside, our meals were satisfying, well-priced and the happy chaos, is all part of Scaramella's local charm.

I got a great exclusive prefix menu for my Princesses day! I was able to make some changes and I tell you what I spent per person with my family was a fair price. The food was absolutely amazing. I'm sorry I don't have many food photos because I was trying to be in the moment! But I will be back and will try the patio which I had really hoped for for my party but there was another private party or large and we were upstairs but my girl said it gave her the bday vibe she wanted. We had reservations for 7p, I got there early and everyone welcomed us anyway and sat us immediately no waiting until your whole party arrives. We had amazing drinks, bread, family style apps the Burrata and the meatballs to die for! We all mixed between spicy rigatoni, seafood linguine frute de mar, filet Mignon, branzino, it was all amazing and I'm drooling as I type! Please give this place a try if you haven't because the service is 10 and food 10
