The restaurant is very cute and a nice mid-fancy option in White Plains (not casual but not tablecloths, price range more accessible for a random night out). The Caesar salad and birthday dessert (a pizookie - off menu) were great. The cacio e pepe did not stand out, was fine but a bit underwhelming. My partner liked the carbonara but thought it was a bit too salty. The service was great though, and we both enjoyed our wines. Would consider coming back to try other apps and the pizza.

Heard from a friend that Pax Romana's food resembles what it is like in Italy, so we came to try on a Saturday around lunch time. Not too crowded, did not make a reservation and were seated right away. The restaurant is nice and spacious, very classy looking and plenty of street parking outside. Our servers were very friendly and attentive, never really let our waters got too low and were quite efficient with the orders and checks, etc. The menu is not too large, but seems to have all the classic Italian dishes you can imagine. We got vodka pasta and cacio e pepe pasta and a mushroom truffle pizza. I gotta say, this is the best Italian place around the area that I've tried so far. Each dish was simple, but the flavor was amazing. It tasted like authentic Italian, just plainly simple and authentic. I would love to try their wines next time I think it would go amazingly with their pasta/pizza/appetizers. The price was very reasonable, each dish was about $20 and we were very full. Would most definitely be coming back!

The device was great. Attentive and they paid attention to my wife's garlic allergy and cooked her dish to perfection she had the cacio e Pepe and I had the ravioli. Both were perfectly cooked and the ravioli had a perfectly sweet sauce. We were there at an off time, 3pm, so it was quiet but the place is very cozy with a friendly staff. I ordered a glass of wine that must have been from a bottle that had been opened for a couple of days and tasted oxidized. I mentioned this to the waiter and he offered me a new glass from a newly opened bottle. Much better. All in all we had a very pleasant lunch. I'm Italian so I am VERY critical of tomato sauce and this was delicious. We will be back again.

This place has a really nice vibe. I read all the rave reviews and went in with pretty high expectations. The bread with tomato infuse olive oil came right out when we were seated and our waiter was attentive and friendly. We ordered Capricciosa Pinsa Romana which is flatbread topped with mozzarella, prosciutto, olives, mushroom and artichoke. It actually was rather bland tasting and somewhat dry. We also had the Burrata appetizer served over tomato's with balsamic glaze. The tomatoes were not ripe and were tasteless and there was not enough balsamic glaze. The burrata itself was good nice and creamy. The Tagliolini Cacio Pepe was good but way too much pepper. I suggest if you order this tell them light on the pepper. The Cavatelli with Broccoli rabe was good and flavorful. The homemade pasta was very good on both of these plates. The tagliata was excellent. Sirloin steak cooked to perfection served with a nice arugula salad. The Tiramisu was ok, it looked like it had been around a few days. The skillet chocolate chip cookie with ice cream was a winner. If you've got a sweet tooth, this is for you. Overall nice atmosphere but the food was just average.

Very tasteless, gnocchi, no basil, parsley, sauce was probably out of a can. Chicken cutlet was old and stale.

Always looking for a new place to eat when in NY. Came across this restaurant on the way to another one, and decided to check it out. Seated immediately; water glass and wine brought shortly after sitting down. Ordered the meatballs - four large ones came with marinara. I could only eat two to save room for my entree. Eggplant parmesan is a Da route, but when my order arrived, I thought it was lasagna. The waiter explained that it looks like lasagna, but was actually the eggplant parmesan. Thinly sliced eggplant layered like lasagna with cheese and marinara - so good. Side salad with strawberries and walnuts.

First time here for dinner with friends. Nice space, although a little noisy when crowded. Open kitchen and a full bar. Attentive and efficient service. We started with Affetati (the cold antipasto plate) and fried calamari. The affetati was freshly sliced meats and cheeses served over a bed of lettuce (arugula ?), the calamari, well seasoned and perfectly fried. I had the fresh Linguini and clams, the Honey, fried shrimps over the arugula salad. The friends, the veal Milanese's special and the pasta with mushrooms. Everyone was happy with their choices. We finished with the tiramisu for dessert. Delicious! Cocktails and Cabernet carafes of the house wine completed the very pleasant meal.

I was pleasantly surprised with this place!! Several of my co-workers had recently dined here and recommended it. We decided to celebrate a teen birthday here and were able to get a reservation for 7 a few hours in advance on a Friday night. Lucky!! They did tell us that we would have just over 2 hours before the next group would be seating at the same table but I liked that they let us know when I had called rather than after seating us. Wine time! The list is not too long, but it covers the bases. We ended up getting a bottle of Montepulciano so I was quite content as it's one of my favorites. Price was $49. It went well with the food. We had several items which were all very delicious: penne alla vodka, cacio e Pepe, cavatelli with broccoli rabe and sausage, diavolo pizza and chicken scarpariello pizza. Everyone was very happy with their dish and had just enough room left for dessert. Service was attentive and professional. We did not feel rushed at all. They even put a candle into a bombolini so we could celebrate a birthday! It's a nice place. Decor is kinda modern. Not too busy with stuff. Simple. The crowd was mixed and spread out nicely on tables. It did not feel crowded. Smiles everywhere!! I recommend you give them a visit!

Place was nice and modern. Came here for a birthday and they were able to accommodate our table of 10 people. To start, we ordered for the table, pizza, calamari, grilled octopus and meatballs. Also to share we ordered the carbonara pasta dish. This was really good! For main course I ordered the steak and comes with a side salad, very good steak and flavor was on point. I would say, it's not family style so portions are good for only one person. The drink menu was small but did order the martini, it was good. I would recommend this place. Staff were nice and food was great.

I used to frequent this place a few years ago, but now I rarely visit. Why? The quality of the food has convincingly declined over the past several years. The pastas are often overcooked, the pizzas are extremely dry, and the prices for the four entrees on the menu are outrageous relative to the quality of the food. The service is wonderful and efficient -- in fact well above average -- but that doesn't redress the culinary deficit. In my opinion, the menu could use a bit of a reboot; perhaps more entrees on the menu?

We had a fantastic meal and an all-around great experience. For appetizers, we shared the octopus, a Margherita pizza, and fresh tomatoes with mozzarella drizzled with balsamic. Everything was fresh and flavorful. I ordered the Pork Chop Milanese and absolutely loved it -- the breading was perfectly crisp and seasoned just right. I also had a chance to try my wife's lobster ravioli, which was rich and delicious. The ambiance was comfortable and inviting, perfect for a special night out without feeling over-the-top. For dessert, we had cannolis with a light filling I hadn't tasted before -- not overly sweet, just smooth and really good. Our young Italian waiter was on top of his game all night. He was attentive, professional, and even humored most of my dad jokes. Highly recommend this spot. Go, eat fresh, drink moderately, and tip well.

Really enjoyed the truffle arancini, and the charcuterie board was good, but a bit small. Gnocchi tasted fresh and had a decadent sauce. The chocolate lava cake was good in size and tasty. Be sure to validate your parking ticket with the waiter before leaving your table. I ate at this restaurant for a work luncheon, and they did not disappoint!! We had delicious apps - sadly I didn't get any photos.. baked clams, meatballs, fried calamari. There was a good amount of clams on the plate, there were 3 meatballs, and a I would say a small portion of calamari. May need multiple orders of the apps if you are dining with a group of people. Ambiance was lovely, lots of space, and very accommodating for a large group of people. Our waiter was attentive, and got all of our meals correct. We did the lunch price fixe - $27 for a two course meal (appetizer and entree, and tea/coffee)Great size portions!!! The eggplant parm was amazing. One of the best I ever had. I got the caprese sandwich, and the mozzarella was truly so fresh you can taste it. To end the delicious meal, I got the Italian cheesecake. That was truly delicious!
