The food doesn't look appetizing nor tasted good. I got a buffalo slice and a plain chicken roll. I get back to my truck ready to drive to my job and as I split the pizza roll I noticed something that didn't looked cooked through however thought it was probably just cheese. My first bite in I realize that the whole roll given to me was raw. It was disgusting and raw. The whole roll including the chicken inside had raw dough on it and wasn't cooked. The food was raw and gross. I also found a piece of hair on my buffalo slice and luckily noticed it before I left the store so had the owner change the slice for me. read more

OMG! I ordered a spinach roll, a sausage roll and a meatball parm hero. The spinach was half cooked and had no garlic or oil and was in a tasteless crust. I threw more than half away.The sausage roll was only slightly better with unmelted mozzarella cheese. The meatballs had the obvious flavor of cereal fillers. Absolutely atrocious food! $40!!! Slices were ready quickly, and there were a few tables outside that you could sit at if you wanted to take in the beautiful weather. Ordered from this place soon after moving to NY (Brooklyn) in 2011. It was so bad that I never ordered from the again, even though they're not too far from my apartment. Fast forward to tonight. The place could have changed right ?? Everyone deserves a second chance right?? Well the answers are No and hell no. I ordered a pepperoni and green peppers pizza. What I got was a hot, oily mess. The sauce was way too sweet( in my opinion) and was the dominating taste. The pepperoni and cheese were tasteless and kind blended together. The green peppers, they were green peppers. After passing by many times, I was so tantalized by the amazing aroma of Joe's that I had to get a slice. Now Joe's is definitely my standby for reliable, yummy pies. The pizza has a pretty thick, crispy crust, which makes the big slices very filling. They have several different veggie pizzas ready made, which is hard to find and much appreciated by this hungry vegetarian! I absolutely love the kind with fresh spinach, tomato, and ricotta. I think it's a dollar or two more, but well worth it. I appreciate that they heat the slices thoroughly so the cheese gets melty. There is some seating, but it's tightly packed in and the TV is usually on at a pretty high volume. I'd recommend takeout. It's also cash only under $5, but there is an ATM outside. read more

I've been here on two different occasions and today was my third and last time there. There is one older gentleman who is very helpful and there is another man there who is very nasty and has been nasty every time I've been in there. I just ignore him because it's clear he's miserable, but today was it for me. I walked into the pizzeria today and asked for chicken parm with pasta. Instead of two pieces of chicken I asked for 1 and 1 piece of eggplant; the guy taking my order turns around and rudely says "you can only have one or the other". I know this isn't true since I have ordered the same thing from them before. I don't get how you can tell a customer what they can order when they are paying you? I wasn't asking for a favor. I was ordering and paying. I definitely won't be going there ever again. After a long day the last thing I want to deal with is crappy and rude customer service.I'll walk a few more blocks and go to Bene's Pizzeria instead where they smile and have always been nice and respectful. read more

The delivery guys have a really awful habit of carrying the pizza so that the cheese get's slid completely to one side of the pie. This has happened several times to me. It was something I'd never done before, walk off the Prospect Park West spoke of the traffic circle at 15th Street-Prospect Park stop on the F,G line. Normally, I power walk to my apartment, eager to unwind from the work day. On this particular evening, the lingering sunlight and balmy breeze inspired me to finally explore my new neighborhood before I leave for another one in a month. I passed a strange hodgepodge of businesses; sushi place, brick oven pizzeria, dollar store, unisex hair salon, church, school, and so on. I couldn't put my finger on the pulse of this neighborhood, abruptly not South Slope at all but this foreign thing known as Windsor Terrace. The area reminded me of some bygone conception of outer limits New York City, but also exuded an obscure Californian vibe, perhaps because of the wide, emptyish, hilly streets and low, flat structures. Actually, I was in the mood for a burger, but passed up cold looking delis, complicated looking diners, and a randomly expensive French leaning venue. Joe's Pizzeria was staring me down from the corner, but I obstinately walked farther, still holding out for meatier grub. I only lasted a few more houses before I realized that I felt like I was on the edge of the earth. Turned right around and walked into Joe's. Two laid back dudes greeted me. I felt scrutinized by them, but only very mildly. The slices behind the glass looked horrendous; flat, congealed, and old. Of these, the oiliest (and therefore most promising, in this situation) selection was light on the sauce, and was spotted with generous dollops of ground beef and ricotta cheese. Dubiously, I ordered it. '$3.50 - not bad, but not good for the neighborhood,' I thought inwardly. I asked to go to the bathroom. They pointed to a white paneled door that looked like it belonged in a house and was in a really strange spot between the main room and the kitchen. The areas around it looked not very well insulated; basically like an outhouse in the middle of the pizzeria. I frowned, disturbed. One guy swung open the door, and I realized it was actually the entrance to a stairway down to the basement, and there was a little hallway towards the actual bathroom, which was completely normal, and clean, as I recall. When I came out, the pizza was waiting on the counter. I picked it up, sat down, and shoveled it down. It was damn good, and definitely different. The crust was on the lightly done side, golden and powdery, and therefore as delectable as fried dough without the sugar. Some raggedly dudes who looked almost too intense to be victims of the normal strain of the hipster epidemic came in, got plain slices (borrring - this almost ruined my time here), and rapped on about the few arcade game stations in the place. Tuning them out, I tried to make my pizza last while staring at the light flooding through the wraparound windows. The workers stared, too, talking amongst themselves while looking outside rather than each other. A nice breeze was at my fat back as I walked downhill for the few blocks to my home. This place has the stronghold on the strip for a solid slice of standard, good New York pizza. Please ignore Sabella's down their block. It's just bad. Joe's does a terrific parmagiana sandwich, and it can even feed like 3 people. If the review below sounds familiar it is because this is the Joe's Pizzeria I reviewed in May but accidentally posted under the one on 7th Avenue (which I today removed). We stopped in for a couple of slices last week and decided to try the Sicilian. The slices were good but not heated up enough. The staff was very friendly and while they might not make the best pizza in Brooklyn, I'd have no reservations about going back again soon. We have been back a few times since I wrote the above and agree that the thin crust pizza is pretty average but the Eggplant Parmigiana is quite good and that unlike at some other places, you can actually taste the eggplant! If you judge them on this sandwich, they get four stars! read more

Joes pizza always hits the spot when I am looking for a tasty slice. I find it to be a nearly perfect Brooklyn Neapolitan slice. I am a fan of a sweeter sauce so this slice takes the cake for me.
