    I have been to this spot multiple times in the past - usually ordering take out. Today, my boyfriend and I decided to eat inside. I ordered one congee and one steamed rice roll with beef while he ordered a beef chow fun. The server mistakenly put an order for two congees for me and when I let her know it was a mistake when the food arrived, she not only insisted I asked for 2, but also put the blame on me when the kitchen asked what happened. Mistakes can happen and I can understand that, but this was very unnecessary and made me very uncomfortable for the remainder of our stay.

    Shun Won is an old school Cantonese restaurant in Flushing NY. It served Chinese clients exclusively. It does a huge amount of take-out order during lunch and dinner hours as well as sit down meal. This place has a vibe of hole in the wall restaurant serving excellent Cantonese food. This is one of my favorite places for a fast meal if we are in the Public Library area in Downtown Flushing. If you like roasted meat like roasted pork belly, roasted duck, roasted pork or soy sauced chicken, this is your place. If you want some thing plain you can go for congee with beef, chicken, seafood, fish filet, shrimp ball, liver or pork with thousand-year egg. My top selections are pork with thousand-year egg and fish filet congee with fried bread. Their steam rice wrap or roll and wonton soup are exceptional tasty as well! On our last visit for a fast dinner, we have fried tofu with fish filet, soy sauced chicken, Peking pork chop, roasted pork and beef chow fun. They were delicious. While we dining, they served over 20+ take-out orders. The waitress was friendly, quick and checked on us several times to ensure everything is in order! Another happy meal Shun Won!

    Have come twice. Got Cantonese rice and duck. Duck is outstanding! Rice was too. Also got bbq pork that was not good at all. No flavor. Got carry out both times. Service was great. Hate that they only take cash. I recommend going.

    No frills fast Chinese food take out or dine in. Roast pork is good, congee isn't bad but there beef with egg sauce was lacking flavor! I had to add some Maggie seasoning to it and a bunch of hot chili oil I had at home. The workers can be rude and rushing you during peak times so be prepared.

    Classic no frills Cantonese food+hanging meats place in heart of flushing. Good food, quick service, it'll help if you speak Cantonese here. Yangchow fried rice, garlic sautéed veggies, hanging meats, salt pepper pork was our order. But others items are so good too.

    We were looking for a place after work on a weeknight that had good "wok-hei" potential and we thought of this place. It did not disappoint and satisfied our cravings. We ordered bitter melon with beef, Singapore mei fun noodles and salt and pepper trio (scallop, shrimp, squid). All were delicious and served up quickly. The service was friendly and efficient. This is the kind of place where you focus on the taste of the food vs. the ambiance. Great for take away orders as well.

    I'm born and raised in Flushing and this is hands down one of the best sit down/take out spots you can go to. The inside is clean and there's plenty of tables to sit down and order at. They also have a great takeout station. Although the wait staff didn't speak much English, and I don't speak any dialects of Chinese , we were still able to communicate very easily :) Food is great, service is great and the location of it being right next to the library is always a plus! Whether you enjoy authentic Chinese or a more Americanized dish like I got(sweet and sour chicken with fried rice), this is the spot!

    There are so many restaurants in Flushing and for some crazy reason we settled upon Sun Won because it was close to where we parked, never a good way to decide on where to eat. Terrible service and typical space. Food was ok.

    I love going there to dine in or takeout for their steamed beef rice rolls and quart containers of congee (Chinese rice porridge) with meatballs and sliced beef in the morning. Always one of my favorite comfort foods plus favorite spot in the neighborhood. So delicious and comforting to have something fulfilling and warm in my stomach. Has a simple and straightforward menu of authentic and flavorful Cantonese-styled congee, stir-fries, noodle soups, rice platters, and other noodle dishes. General pricing is considered as reasonable, seafood is moderately-priced depending on what you're ordering. Cash only, no credit cards allowed. Ambiance is your no-frills and typical Chinese diners/restaurants. Noise level isn't too bad. Service from staff is average but I usually take the food to go, so it's not a big dealbreaker to me. One block away from the 7 train (walking distance wise).

    This review is for the restaurant, take out. Its not for the peking duck window out front (which is very good). We ordered some food takeout to eat at a nearby hotel. The food was not good. I tried the super sized soup dumpling and the entire thing was soup and no meat. You'd have to hunt to find any meat and you may find a few pieces of ground pork, maybe. I was hoping for a super sized soup dumpling with equal parts meat and soup. This was basically a soup dish. I didn't eat the doughy wrapper as it was pretty thick. The stir fried udon noodles were decent. The general gau's chicken was so expensive and you don't get much. Its also not the crispy type of chicken...more of chicken stir fry with sauce. The fish salt cabbage noodle soup was not good at all and we wouldn't recommend it. Service was good, you order takeout from the peking dunk window. There is a small waiting area outside.

The star of the show turned out to be the giant sized pan fried flounder which was not only big but quite scrumptious. Unlike the little scrawny flounder that most other restaurants usually served this was a quite large and very meaty and perfectly cooked. The last dish to come out was a very large plate of chicken fried rice with salted fish. If it were not for the lack of heat, I would have given Chef Wong Bistro 5 stars!

The seafood itself was solid traditional Cantonese fare with fresh lobster tanks, steamed fish, and classic banquet-style dishes. The atmosphere felt colorful authentic Hong Kong banquet hall energy. However, some of their pricing was completely out of whack. Mother's Day premium for sure which is understandable, but some dishes were simply excessively expensive for what was delivered. For example, our two lobsters, while fresh, were missing that smoky "wok hei" flavor that great Cantonese kitchens are known for. It lacked the depth, aroma, and richness one expects from a proper high-heat wok preparation. A few items felt priced more for Guide Michelin luxury dining than a Flushing seafood hall. This said, the service was efficient and professional; changing plates all the time. So a high level of attention above the usual Cantonese restaurant. Overall, decent food in and an authentic Hong Kong style restaurant that targets special family gatherings, but be prepared, both the crowds and the bill can become overwhelming very quickly. I have so many reasons to believe that Emperor is truly the reincarnation of the restaurant...just a little rusty. I've only come here for dim sum and I'm still surprised it doesn't get even half of the insane volume that nearby dim sum restaurants get, especially with how much closer they are to Roosevelt Ave. I have to say that the dim sum here is slightly better than most locations in the core downtown area, both in presentation and taste. No cart ladies, just a paper and pencil ordering system. The other diners that I usually encounter seem to strike me as locals, which is becoming harder to find these days. Prices are slightly more expensive than the other places, which is probably a factor as to why there aren't as many customers. The other reason is probably the subpar customer service here, which I've encountered on a number of recent visits. There are so many workers here, but none of them seem to have any good grasp of what customer service is. For example, I've had the waiter hover over me as I was gathering cash for my bill and snatched it the moment I placed the money down, also demanding at least 18% (again, for subpar service). Also, if you complain to them about your food, even if you find a hair, they will not do anything about it.
