Been wanting to try this place for years and finally got the chance to! It's a cute little hole in the wall with plenty of options to pick from. From the obvious, Mac and cheese, to burgers and chicken tenders. They even have plenty of dessert options. The wait staff were so accommodating and kind. I came here with a friend group and we were the only guests dining inside. They had music blasting and we asked if they could lower the volume a bit and did so immediately. I got the All American patty melt with a side of fries. The fries were top tier. I enjoy my fries on the crispier side and there was definitely a good amount that were crispy. I also like the type of fries that look directly cut from a russet potato. The patty melt was to be expected. A typical diner type. It did lack flavor/seasoning, so I appreciated the onions which gave it some help flavor wise. The patty was also dry, so that was unfortunate. The pulled pork Mac and cheese was good. It was a healthy portion of the toppings, but the Mac and cheese itself fell short on the flavor as well. I can see and taste real cheese, but something was missing. I also prefer more aldente noodles and these were on the almost overcooked side for me. The garlic bread is your standard can't go wrong garlic bread. I gave 4/5 because I expected more flavor for the Mac and Cheese. They specialize in it after all! Overall, I think dishes would benefit from some extra seasoning, but for the price it's pretty unbeatable. When I want Mac n cheese, I'm usually looking for something richer and more full and I just didn't get that feeling. It's hard to describe but it felt thin like velveta vs a proper roux and cheese. We were fretting about what to serve 8-10 people who were coming over for a movie night at our place (we watched the Conjuring 3 and highly recommend it as a group activity!). I've been burned in the past (literally too!) by bad ones which had overcooked pasta and watery cheese, but they do an amazing job at Joey G's with the texture and consistency of the Mac. We ordered 1 family sized (feeds ~6 people) regular Mac n Cheese and another family sized Taco Mac n Cheese. I highly recommend them both! For the Taco Mac, imagine sour cream, pico de gallo and that delicious guac on top of the Mac that has layers of seasoned ground beef within... All our guests loved it and since we went family size, my wife and I had leftovers for lunch the next day as well. On top of the amazing Macs, going into the spot made me so happy too! It's such a cute little space and I highly recommend a date night with your SO if you're both into dates where you can spend hours chatting about the happiest times from your childhoods and not worry about which fork to use for your next course. They also serve ice cream and other baked goods (tons of cookies!) When I went for the pick-up, they were giving out free cookies and I recommend the strawberry cream ones!
