41/2 stars. Delicious pizza. For me, it was the perfect ratio of sauce, cheese, and crust. This is a thin crust pizza with the perfect crisp and a bit of a char. The menu is small but also include hoagies, cheesesteaks, and salads. The place is light and modern, much nicer than your average pizza joint. Our pizza was ready quickly and we enjoyed it!

Joey's pizza doesn't seem like much from the Highway sitting in the lonely shopping center, but the food is so on point! They re-did their menu over the previous years and really upped their game. They have solid thin crust pizza, with a good red sauce. I am a New Yorker, so I am very particular with my pizza. The real star of the show for me though was the cheesesteak. Soft roll, tons of meat covered in delicious melted cheese - what more could you ask for!? My husband and I were really impressed and felt that Joey's rivals many of the big Philly names. I think they are definitely the best cheesesteak in Chester county and I'm always excited to order from here for my weekly cheat meal. Much success to them on their second location in West Chester.

958th different cheesesteak eaten in the last 4 years. I don't think they count as guest eaters but Blackstone Betty and her Blackstone Grill Posse were at Joey's. Speer has renovated the place and it looks great. New seeded Liscio's roll, Levan Bros meat and cooper sharp cheese. I love a Liscio's roll but you have to be ready for this roll. It is their high end roll and has a thicker crust. Love Levan Bros meat. I got a cheesesteak with fried onions and mushrooms. I would have liked a touch more cheese. I love the upgrades but I would absolutely love to see a caramelized onion, sauteed mushroom and less oil on the cheesesteak.

Ridiculously good pizza. Very much like Beddia and/or Shackamaxon. I got a plain and one with sausage/pepperoni. Both were absolutely amazing. Great crust and high quality ingredients. Hands down the best pizza I've had anywhere in the burbs. I'd put it up there with the "greats" in the city too. read more

Definitely a love/hate relationship here. I love the food at this place, it's absolutely phenomenal, I hate how far away it is from me. It is absolutely worth a trip if you're looking for amazing Pizza or cheesesteaks. If every place was as good as this in the Philadelphia region, weighing 300 lbs would seem perfectly normal because this is the exact kind of place that would make you fat and happy. I can't recommend this place enough, just incredible stuff as even with a somewhat limited menu, you will not regret coming here. read more

Top notch pizza with a new recipe and a new pizza oven - they reopened maybe early to mid March 2021 and the inside is all very nicely redone too. They have a smaller condensed menu right now, but focusing on just delivering quality pizza, cheese steaks and a few other items. I got my pizza light baked, but will try normal baked aka a bit of char next time. Pizza was REALLY good and I had it in the past with the old recipe and it was just OK and tastes like every other local pizza place. Now they stand out for sure and the best pizza in Dtown/Thorndale in my opinion. read more

Since post quarantine they changed their facility. The quality of pizza also changed. The pizza crust was thin, hard, and had burnt spots on the underside. We were frequent customers. Ordered Joeys for the first time last night and this is going to be our new go to pizza stop. MUCH better than other offerings in the area and we are thrilled we're in their delivery radius. We ordered a simple cheese pizza but the texture (crispy, well-done), the cheese (tasted like a high quality mozzarella blend), and the sauce were spot on. Bonus points, the pizza reheated great the following day. read more

We just moved to the area and have drove by this place numerous times. It doesn't look like its open but it is! We went out on a whim to try it and after reading other reviews we decided to get a cheesesteak as well as pizza. Omg both were AMAZING!! High recommend trying both!! Will definitely be our go to! Neighbor referred me to them. Was a little hesitant to make the 20 minute drive but since moving to Chester county, I still haven't found a good cheesesteak or pizza pie I liked. Needless to say, I'd drive 40 minutes for this spot. Workers are awesome, cheesesteak is right up there with the best I've ever had, and the pie was unreal. Perfectly cooked, crisp crust, thin boardwalk style. Can't wait to try everything else on the menu. They got a customer for life here. 5 stars all around. read more

Don't let the name fool you as Joey's is your go to Philly suburb place for cheesesteaks. They are under new management and I think have one of the best cheesesteaks around. My go to is a chicken cheesesteak with provolone cheese and onions. My husband loves a steak cheesesteak with the onions. One of the best things about Joey's is their rolls. They are so fresh with sesame seeds that just make the sandwich. It can be a long wait on a weekend so make sure to call ahead for pick-up and allow for some extra time. The sandwiches are a hearty portion and $12-$15 each but worth every penny. Plenty of parking is available in the lot (right off of route 30) and there is limited indoor seating. read more

Great place for wing and pizza!! My uncle live around here so I come and pick up food for parties or just when we hang out. The people here are really nice and read back the order. We ordered a plain pizza, pepperoni and a mushroom pizza. It was really good. The wings are also pretty good here they are crispy and juicy. We did not wait long for our order either. This place also has dine in eating and people around seem to enjoy their meal as well. Def coming here every time I visit my cousins. Next I want to try there Stromboli's they looked really good. This place also sells beer and the place is clean. They take cash or credit. Did not take picture the first time but I will tale pictures next time. read more

Wow, they've gone downhill. Bought our first Italian Stromboli from them in a while and they now use "American Cheese", yuck, gave it to the dogs. Hoagies are still good, but be sure to ask before you waste your money. read more

This place used to have amazing food, especially their pizza. To say they've gone downhill is an understatement. I ordered a large pepperoni last night and the entire thing was burnt. The crusts we're completely inedible. The fact that I paid 20 bucks for a burnt pizza infuriates me. No wonder I never see cars in the parking lot anymore. If you live in the area and want good pizza, make the drive to Honey Brook and go to Papa Mark's or Little Anthony's read more

This place has gone way downhill since Joey left years ago. The quality has continued to get worse and worse. The size of their sandwiches has gotten considerably smaller and the pizza lacks enough sauce, cheese and toppings, it is like eating a thin piece of cardboard.My family has visited Joeys since they were in front of the fire company before they moved to their current location. We moved to Lancaster County 20 years ago but would still stop at Joey's every time we were in the area. We have never had to complain about their food but after a visit last Friday decided to call and let them know the quality of their product was not up to par. The owner or manager that answered the phone couldn't of been more rude to my wife. That WILL be our last trip to Joeys Pizza. Hopefully you will make a better choice when in the area like Jacks or other options. Good ridence Gave them another try tonight and this will be my last. Pizza absolutely horrible! Drove 45 mins and bought 4 pizzas. Wife called and they don't give a shit. Don't give this shit hole the time of day ! Sucks ! read more

This place is hands down the best pizza around, probably best in the state! I usually throw the title of best pizza in the area around too frivolously without clarifying that the bar is pretty low in the greater Philadelphia area. I'm from New York so naturally I consider myself a pizza expert and this pizza holds up to New York standards! The crust is complex balancing airiness and crunchiness beautifully. Combine that with perfect sauce and high quality cheese and you have yourself the champ. Which brings us to the cookery, taken right to the edge of charred. I hate to tell you people on here giving subpar ratings, that's the way real New York pizza is made. DiFaras pizza in Brooklyn is widely recognized as the best in New York and it's the exact same level of well done. So forgive me for not lending too much credence to you nay saying, knuckle dragging morons of Thorndale who complain that this place has fallen off! As a disclaimer, I've never had Joeys before so don't know how things used to be over there, can only speak to how it is now, and it's official! Additionally, the cheesesteaks look phenomenal! Gorgeous seeded bread is critical and they've got it! Since moving to Pennsylvania I've been on the hunt for my favorite pizza, the search is over, I'll never go anywhere else even though it's a 30min drive for me. To the negative reviewers out there, pizza hut will love to have you back! read more

This is a place you either like their burnt pizza or don't. I lived in Brooklyn for 30 years and never had a burnt pizza like this. Brooklyn pizzas are thin but crisp. Occasionally you'll get some charring but not to this level or on the bottom. When you make a piece of sausage look like charcoal it's in the oven too long. Surprisingly I liked the flavoring it would've been a great pie if it wasn't so over cooked and burnt. You'll have to make your own decision if you enjoy this type of pizza. read more

I saw this place mentioned on Facebook, it's local and I love a good cheesesteak. I must say that the steak sandwich was THE BEST I've had in the Philly suburbs- especially West Chester, Exton, Downingtown area. I HIGHLY recommend. The only con with the place is their hours! I am up here visiting from out of state and had this place recommended to me. I haven't even tasted the pizza yet but the customer service was not that great the guy at the register was nice. I asked for a couple of things of ranch and some cheese and peppers and the guy at the register was nice and went to get me some but I'm guessing his dad or whoever the other guy was started talking to him in their native language and I'm about 90% sure he told him that I needed to be charged for the ranch I just spent 25 bucks at their restaurant and they're going to charge me for pretty much four squirts of ranch I thought that was sort of sorry. read more

The owners have changed and the inside has been re-done. Sort of a warehouse look. The pizza is SO GOOD. I t has a thin crust and it is so much less greasy than other pizza in the area. I see there are a lot of good reviews for cheese steak, but my husband and I don't really eat cheese steak. But the pizza alone is well worth a trip. read more

We were very disappointed with our pizza. It was burnt! When I called and spoke with a manager, he was so rude! He said they make their pizza well done. I said the pizza was burnt, not well done. He told me that's how they make it. I said I would not be coming back, and he said good! I guess they don't need business. read more

Not sure what's going on with the pizza since the place has been remodeled. But it's horrible. Sauce was on top of the cheese. Barely any sauce. Bottom of the pizza was black and tasted burnt. Terrific pizza. We received the exact pizza we ordered which for many shops would be considered a minor miracle. The crust was very well done and tasted like it was wood fired. Great toppings only added to how excellent the pizza is. Good pizza is a very personal preference and no one pie fits all but don't cheat yourself and give Joey's a try. read more

Pizza is good. Crispy. Well done. Not much sauce. If you are in the mood for that style fire away. Cheesesteaks are very good. The problem is the price. Food is very overpriced compared to size of what you receive. Don't waste your time with delivery. Door dash gouges the prices even more. Food should be cheaper even in this post Covid market. read more

We ordered Joeys on a whim because they had quick delivery times. What an awesome surprise! We got an extra crispy Neapolitan (which is why the crust looks dark in the photo, that's how we like it) and a meatball sandwich. Sesame bun, soft meatballs and a nice chunkyish sauce. Best pizza we've had in the area, including the fancy places. read more

Sauce was dark, heavy and looked old. The only thing I would order here are the cold sandwiches, Italian, tuna are good.

Out of 5 stars I would say 4 stars for the flavors because it need more cheese to make it a little salty... Anyways I still love it! They served freshly hot. The place was nice and clean.

am writing to express my disappointment regarding a recent experience at your establishment. My son had ordered a pizza from your restaurant, but unfortunately, he fell asleep and was unable to pick it up. When he tried to place a new order on a different day, he discovered that his number had been blocked. He then used my phone to place the order, only to be greeted by aggressive behavior from your staff. Instead of a simple clarification of the situation, your team proceeded to yell at him for not picking up the previous pizza. After recognizing his name, they insisted that he pay for the pizza he hadn't picked up before being allowed to place another order. Despite the fact that he apologized profusely for his mistake and took responsibility by paying for the missed pizza, your staff's reaction was completely uncalled for. While I understand the need for policies regarding no-shows, it is unreasonable to treat a customer with such hostility for a single, honest mistake. Had this been a repeated issue, I would understand a more stringent approach. However, the way this situation was handled was completely unacceptable, especially given that my son made every effort to make it right. While the quality of your pizza may be good, the behavior we encountered leaves us with no intention of returning to your restaurant. I will also be sure to share this experience with my friends and family to ensure they are aware of the treatment they can expect. read more

We are done with these clowns. We specifically asked not to over cook our pizza. Is was burnt again! Ordered medium pizza, xsause , x pepperoni, and Do NOT OVER cook. It was burnt.?! They said " that's how we cook it" DONE DO NOT GO HERE read more

Best pizza you will find anywhere in 30-40 miles, maybe more. Just top notch. Crisp, good sauce, moderate amount of cheese, fresh basil. Top tier. Eat it fresh out of the oven! read more
