Glad we tried this place! We had a big order for a party we hosted -plain cheese, pepperoni and white. I know it was a bit bold trying a new place for a party without trying ourselves first but we took a chance based on reviews and glad we did! All pies were a hit and even better we were able to use their daily specials pricing too. My husband picked up the pies and the shop was clean and the service crew was friendly. Being new to the area we love to try to placed especially based on recommendations and glad we can add New Haven into our mix. If the take out was this good, I am eager to try dine in. Walking by and decided to stop in when we saw the New Haven Pizza sign. We met Bree at the counter who was friendly and welcoming. We ordered a large cheese pizza and two bottled waters. The pizza came out hot and the crust crunchy. Reminded me of Seasons Pizza. Not like New Haven, but it was fresh and we liked the cheese. Normally I don't leave bad reviews, unless something is really bad. My reasons for this review are unusual: bad pizza combined with misleading marketing claiming great pizza. First, let me say these things: The service here is great. Nothing wrong with that. And I did not try anything on the menu except the pizza. Their cheesesteaks could possibly be superb. I have no idea. But I love pizza. I've been to New Haven. I've had Sally's Apizza. I've had Frank Pepe's. This was not that. I grew up in the South Philadelphia (the Italian section). And I've specifically gone to NYC to try the various Ray's. I know my pizza. So my first big complaint is that they named this place New Haven Pizza, but there is not a serious attempt to make New Haven style pizza. And after receiving the pizza and realizing it was not New Haven style, I looked at the kitchen. They don't have a coal-fired or wood-fired oven. Standard US commercial gas-fired pizza ovens. Fine for NY or Philly style, but not New Haven or Napoli style. Is that unforgivable? Yes. I know a local pizzeria that wanted to make Napoli style pizza, and they built a wood-fired oven. And they didn't even call themselves Napoli Pizza. My second complaint is that even though they're not making New Haven style pizza at a place called New Haven pizza, they're making not-so-good pizza. The crust is the biggest issue. It's not a crunchy, chewing Philly / NY crust. It's not a bubbly burnt crispy New Haven crust. It's not a chewy and sometimes soggy in the middle Napoli pizza (not my favorite). Sigh. If they hadn't named their place New Haven Pizza I would never have written this review. read more

If you are looking for just something plain and tasteless , then go to this place. The pizza was equivalent to something you get a school cafeteria. I just had the rudest experience with the older gentleman, who may be the owner. I came in asking him for a slice or a personal pan. He helped everyone else around me when I was there first, and then when he finally came to me, he didn't greet me. He didn't ask what I needed. He just looked at me and then when I stated what I needed to order, he was just started saying "yeah yeah yeah" and dismissive of what I wanted so then I canceled my order. As an African-American female, I felt disrespected, especially because I was there before other customers that he assisted before me. The menu board said the cheesesteaks are made with 7 ounces of sirloin. That sounded small and since we were in West Chester I went with the small plate mentality and got the special steak. I am glad I did. I knew I was in for a treat when I saw all of that glorious melted cheese. It was like a cheese lava flow carving a valley out of a Conshohocken perfectly baked bread Nirvana. It was very tasty, fried onions, peppers, mushrooms and a little bit of pizza sauce. The meat did not get lost in the extras. Everyone played nicely together. I like my cheese mixed in or on the bottom like a cheesy garlic bread. I still do BUT I loved the amount of cheese and the melt of the cheese. $9.50 for the cheesesteak. Considering it was West Chester and it was tasty I don't hate the $9.50. The family next to us told us we had to go back and try The Gyro pizza.. Overall very good experience. I had to grab a quick meal for an impromptu meeting with my CPA and she suggested New Haven. I'd forgotten about this little gem, and had to walk an extra block to find their new location. The young man behind the counter was very helpful and super friendly. He chatted with me the whole time I waited and helped me pick out a beer to go with my meal. It's nice to find a place that sells singles. The food came fast and all the bags were clearly marked. It was all placed in a low box so it was easy to carry (especially nice since I was walking). Today, we had pick of "House Special" Pizza. The Pizza was very low on sausage, ground beef and mushrooms (the main ingredients). We did not ask for peperoni, instead replace with some jalapeno pepper. The toppings were very sloppy. The pick-up box did not even have the usual wax paper underlining. The pizza is pretty greasy, the atmosphere isn't the best, and the workers don't speak much to you as if they are nervous or something. New Haven has been my take-out haven since I moved to WC. Actually, I didn't start going there until I moved around the corner - it depresses me a bit. I missed out on this place for almost two years. Everything I have ever ordered has been delicious. Mega fries, chicken cheese steak, salad with grilled chicken, chicken tenders, seasoned (amazingly) fries, and delicious - oh - so - delicious pizza. I must admit, before finding out I was allergic to milk (no more pizza :-( for me) I would eat a peperoni pizza once a week from New Haven. The crust is not thin - I'd say it's halfway between deep dish and thin crust. To me, that is perfection. In addition they have take-out beer and wine-coolers.
