Horrible service!!! Apparently when John Carr ran the business, he ran it with pride. Not Dylan! They showed up 6 hours late! Dylan promised a 2nd crew, that didn't happen, was promised to be loaded a gone by 2pm that didn't happen then it was 5pm, that didn't happen! Finally 7 hrs later I was loaded. I was assured that ALL MY THINGS would fit, it didn't! Had to leave stuff behind. Dylan tells you one thing and the drivers do another. When boxes marked HEAVY are stacked on top of boxes that say FRAGILE/GLASS that gets crushed,That ain't right. To top it off, when anything goes wrong and I mean ANYTHING goes wrong and you need to get ahold of Dylan. Forget about it!! he won't answer your calls,texts,emails etc... he will just ghost you and leave you hanging and the damage will never be resolved. Dylan's is the type that throws his drivers under the bus and blames all the companies issues on the drivers. The company is SAD!!!!!! read more

A box of my belongings was left in the truck when they moved my apartment. I let them know, and they initially said they'd check into it. Now they won't even answer my calls. I've left multiple messages over the last week and a half, and no one will even call me back. The move was 3 weeks ago, and they've gone completely radio-silent. The actual guys who moved my stuff were nice and professional However they damaged one of my sofas and the owner John Carr will no longer communicate while trying to file a claim after doing everything he asked. Both the Upholstry shop owner and I have emailed. I have also text and we are both being ghosted. There were a few other things damaged or broken that I have not tried to get reimbursed for. Just trying to file a claim for my damaged furniture and can't get a response. Sad because prior to the move I asked on multiple occasions for their proof of insurance of both John Carr and his son to no avail. Worst moving company ever damaged my furniture when moving from one apartment to an other in the same aprtment complex when i contacted the company to get them to fix or repay me for the damadges they caused they sent the owner over and the whole time he was here he had an additude and said his guys did not cause the damage that that had yo have already have been there and then said that thats normal for "stuff" to get damadged He then said that he would bot pay for any damage and said i was lying, needles to say i kicked him out of my house for disrespecting me in front of my family . My suggestion dont ever use this company since if the damadge somthing they wont get anything out of them youll just be offended by the crap owner read more

I'm giving three stars because they were available at short notice to move and store our stuff when we were getting strung along by our builder. Ask, the guys doing the moving were very nice. But, they didn't wrap any of our furniture or mattresses, and every single wood item has chips and dings and white paint from hitting the walls, and our guest room mattress got mis-shapen and smells strange, and we have to get rid of it. I've included a few pictures. Every time I've moved before, the furniture gets wrapped in blankets or plastic for protection. I'm very disappointed in this. read more

Moving is my least favorite thing ever! My dad recommended local motion, as he's used them a lot of times for jobs and referred them to many of his friends. So i called and made the appointment. Very prompt response! The guys, Reggie, Robert and Kelly showed up right on time! They were friendly, extremely efficient and fast! The pricing was very reasonable for 3 men and a big truck. They moved our 2 bedroom apartment to a 2 bedroom townhouse in less than 5 hours and we have A LOT of stuff! I would highly recommend using local motion for all your moving needs. read more

Very bad experience. They did not inventory my property it was all just packed which took an extremely long time. boxes only had where it was going NO name, to who it belonged to. it was suppose to be stored until I let them know when to bring it . Also paid for storage . I got a call it was on its way ! i had to find and pay for storage unit out if the blue ! Also had to pay to have it moved again once I found a place to live ! when I finally had a place to live and went through my things I had missing boxes and had boxes that where not mine . Reggie was great at getting back to me then that stopped. Dylan Carr never called me back to explain or apologize. Lack of communication was awful. This started in December 2021. Nightmare. Beware! was quoted one price and then charged double! They scratched up every piece of furniture! Everyday I am reminded of that dreadful experience! They took apart my daughters bed and did not put all the pieces back, or even leave them for me to fix later, so now I have a bed that is missing pieces, dowels, screws etc. and they took them! I contacted them, and never heard back. To make it even worse, it was half of a brand new bunk bed and they moved the other half whole, and the piece they decided to make unstable is the top bunk, which can no longer be used! The sad part is we had used them in the past and were satisfied, that is why I went with them, but never again! When I called to speak with them about the drastic change in price, I was blamed for believing the person I spoke with!?!? read more

Over the last 15 years, I have called John & Dylan Carr (father & son) with Local Motion Moving Co. for moving furniture & my baby grand piano several times. Most recently in May, 2018, a crew of three (including Dylan Carr) successfully moved furniture between a garage, main house, guest house & barn. Additionally, my piano was moved again from one room to another. As requested, the company brought a ramp to navigate a few stairs. They did a beautiful job of taking apart the piano, moving it with a ramp and then reconstructing it in the next room. The team was very patient & kind when I decided to reposition the piano yet again across a room. Large theatre chairs and ottoman were moved two flights of stairs to a different room. A VERY heavy antique French farm table was carried from the kitchen to an office area. A four poster bed was reconfigured & moved from a guest house to the main house for a guest flying in from Mexico. All pieces were moved carefully. No mishaps & no breakage occurred. The company's moving costs were very reasonable & we tipped them for a job well done. The crew worked quickly, efficiently & carefully. They were adept at moving very old antique pieces, the piano & heavy, heavy items. I will certainly phone Local Motion again when I redecorate or move. read more

we've used these guys 4 times. the first 3 times were small moves and we were obviously pleased. when you call, you usually reach the sons (dylan or lincoln) of the owner (john) - while somewhat disorganized, they are both very nice guys who try to make everything right. if/when your move runs into any kind of issues, as our fourth and largest move did, the sons defer to their father, john. we had some damage and john said they would take care of it, but when he got the estimate he said they weren't responsible for the damage we were claiming and that we should have bought insurance. legally, he's probably right, but the way he handled it and the accusations he made left a very bad impression. rather than argue with him, i figured i'd write a review. there are lot's movers out there - choose wisely! read more

John came by a day before the move to check with us, a nice touch to know your mover is going to be there. The next day the team shows up 15 minutes early, ready to go. These guys are pros, they come in with a great attitude and every tool they need to do the job. We moved from a very congested area, no problem they found a way to park their truck and load every thing quickly. I have white slipcover couches, they stopped to wash their hands before unwrapping the couches, awesome. Johns team is like moving with family they really care about your things and pay attention to details. Local Motion Moving is awesome. We hired them to help us move furniture and boxes from our house to our wedding reception and back. We had several couches and chairs that we used at our wedding for lounge areas and many boxes with decor. They were on time, very friendly, and worked quickly and efficiently. They did a great job following our floor plan to set the furniture down in the areas we wanted at the reception venue. I had Local Motion scheduled to move me on 6.13.15 at 8:30am. 8:30am came around.....8:45am came around. I had to leave because Big Box was at new place, so I called Local Motion and told them I had to leave but to wait for me at old place and I didn't care about having to pay to have them wait. About 15 minutes later, I got a call from Coleman Moving Systems saying that Local Motion called them because they had a job they couldn't do....so 15 minutes before when I had Local Motion on the phone, they didn't even have to balls to tell me that they weren't going to be able to show up. They actually had Coleman Moving System "clean up their mess". I was referred to Local Motion by someone that used them and said that they are extremely fast (maybe they are, but I wouldn't know becuz they never showed and couldn't even tell me they weren't showing up), but I say "Call Coleman Moving Systems instead - 619-223-2255". read more

We were very impressed with JCLM moving Co. We had a 4000 sq ft home in La Jolla and although we had sold or given away some stuff we still had a ton of stuff we had to fit into storage until we find a house. Reggie and his crew were very professional and friendly and kept us informed step by step as to their plan and progress. The real magic came the way Reggie and his crew were able to fit all our stuff in The storage unit. The unit was already half full with some stuff I had put in and it was clear the stuff in the truck wasnt going to fit in the unit. Well Reggie and his crew unpacked what I had stuffed in haphazardly and repacked it and then unloaded the truck into the unit with such precision that the impossible was at last achieved!
