I never leave reviews but this one got me... and I thought people should know: Well, I saw the reviews but I got this flyer in the mail and wanted to get a quote. 1. I called, talked to the lady who answers and she assured me the mover would get back to me. No one got back to me. 2. I called again about a week later. She assured me someone did in fact call me back and text me. My phone says otherwise. But instead of proceeding on she beat the dead horse to make sure I knew the date and time they called and texted and I was the one that didn't respond. 3. Ok. Moving on... I asked for a specific date, as I was now on a time crunch I asked if we could reserve it, she said someone would get back to me and for now it was wide open. I told her it was important to reserve the date and even if I could make a deposit I'd like to make sure the date was available. She proceeds to tell me with attitude that until they give me a quote someone else could book it and well, that's the chances you take (!!!) 3. No one called me back for a quote or visit. The next day I get a call from this lady and she tells me: sorry, I booked the dates so we can't service you. First, customer service here really is something horrible. Second, she missed out on a big moving contract because I called Sunshine Movers and Mannie was the best and made the whole process so easy. Not only did he call me right back but we went through the quote line by line and I got a price within 5 min. He's got excellent reviews, not a soul said anything bad about the company unlike Bay Park Moving. Do your homework and TRUST the reviews. !!AVOID BAY PARK MOVING AT ALL COSTS!! In July 2022 we hired Bay Park Moving to pack a shipping pod for a cross country move. You might be wondering, why did it take so long for you to post a review? Great question! Repeated attempts over the last year at outreach in the form of emails, texts, certified mail, and even investigators from the NBC San Diego Consumer Investigation unit were all ignored! We estimate that we incurred $8,000 worth of damage to our property due to negligence and lack of care for our possessions. The packing team did not use all provided moving blankets and as a result fragile furniture pieces were wrapped in plastic shrink wrap and completely unprotected in the move. Fragile items were stacked on top of each other in the pod. We had some nice things too, including vintage record cabinets, Maiden Home bedframe and dining table, west elm dining chairs, etc. and were heartbroken to see the damage. Check out the photos. There were many more things damaged but what I've attached is a good indicator. As part of the combined agreement for moving services and freight bill, we were entitled to 60 cents/lb/article to cover losses or damages. This was not honored by the company. All we were asking for was to receive what was owed to us under the terms of the agreement ($582.60) and we received nothing. The company provided no response whatsoever. NOTHING. I had to post this review to save anybody interested in this company. I wouldn't wish this experience on anybody. We needed help for our spiritual organization moving material out of a POD Storage Unit to a drive-up CubeSmart unit. All of us are senior citizens, and it was recommended to us that we use Bay Park Moving. Eric and his two-man crew arrived ahead of time, packed everything very carefully, and moved it to our final destination just a few blocks away. They then unpacked, and helped us place everything. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. Your mightmare awaits..... I wish I would've been able to read reviews before I chose this company but alas, my company cancelled on me the very last minute, leaving me in a lurch to find another available one.. While Doug was kind, seemingly professional and reassuring, I was disappointed in the lackluster and utterly careless performance of the moving team themselves. Yes they showed up on time, however, about two hours into the move, I started seeing my things, lovingly packed in miles of bubble wrap ( by me) get crushed, thrown, dropped, kicked, and tossed over my balcony to the crew waiting below. I saw my bankers boxes, carefully packed and sealed, being stacked 10 high on a dolly and then dragged, banged and slammed down all 30 steps to the truck. At one point, I saw the dolly on the truck and all the boxes tipped over, even the ones marked FRAGILE in big letters. He kicked the box and I yelled and he looked up at me. I watched in horror as my dining room table was tipped and carried down the stairs, only to have the drawer fall out, spilling is contents all over. Broken glass, broken mirrors, broken knick-knacks and more. NEVER in ALL my years of moving have i ever experienced this kind of damage.AND THEY CHARGED ME $110/HOUR!!! CRIMINAL! At the end of the day, I was threatened by the large man , as I had only a certain amount of cash and ( due to the fact that the other moving company -MUCH cheaper-had cancelled on me) I wanted to giver him a check for the balance or tell him to please come with me to the bank so that I could withdraw the balance due. HE THREATENED TO PUT MY THINGS BACK ON THE TRUCK AND TAKE THEM AWAY SINCE I ONLY HAD $500 and my bill was $620! To top this, I am a single mom and had a broken foot at the time. After arriving at my sons condo in Carlsbad, I immediately saw we needed help moving the big stuff. I saw a postcard for Bay Park Moving and called. Susan was so pleasant. I scheduled a time on a Thursday, and the 3 guys showed up right on time. Eric Lopez, Ramon, and Victor were so efficient and clean. They walked through while I showed what I needed, and they gave me a proposed plan of attack. I couldn't have been happier. Call this place with a coupon for $110/hr for 3 mans to help with 2 hours minimum. When this mans come to help on day of move, they bring 1 more mans and charge me for this mans. This mans then try to make me pay more than $450 for time to move. Time to move was no even 2 hours but i pay this minimum. This no honest place. They do this bait and pay more thing to me. BEST MOVING COMPANY EVER! We received a flyer in the mail and it seemed like too good of a deal to pass up, especially since we needed to move out of our current condo and take our stuff to storage. They guys that came (Junior, Abraham, and Keoki) were amazing and super professional. They came to our condo and were all business. They wrapped up our stuff and loaded it on to their truck safely and quickly. I was shocked how fast they did everything. When we got to our storage unit, not only did they unload the truck and put our stuff in our storage unit, they even organized everything. I was honestly shocked, but so thankful they did this. From the time they showed up to our condo to the time they left our storage unit, it was 3 hours... THREE HOURS! If I did it myself it would have taken me 3 days! Have used these guys three times now over the past twelve years and cannot say enough about them. Big Joe has overseen all of our moves and he is amazing. They used three guys all three of the times and they were amazing. Fast, professional and took great care of our things during the move, even down a winding staircase with king size temperpedic matress and frame, large dressers, armoirs, desk and peleton bike. Our flooring company recommended Bay Park Moving as a company that would care for newly refinished hardwood floors. He was right - both move-out and move-in (internal move) went smoothly and with care. The team helped me install felt pads on all the furniture before moving it back. Their rates are on the high end, charge for the travel from their office to your site, and minimums were high for our small job - but you get what you pay for. I would use them again. read more

I've used this company several times. Recently they must have raised their prices because I paid $150/hr for 3 men this time and usually they are really quick. This time it took them two additional hours than normal. Same amount of stuff. They also shattered my TV, broke my glass table and scratched my headboard. The mover told me to call the company and they will take care of it. They offered me $73. I've tried contacting them since and no response. I'm offended by this honestly I've sent them so much business. I even offered to bring the TV in my car and they said no they had it covered. But obviously not. To replace these items will cost me at least $700. That $73 is a slap in the face. I Don't recommend this company because their crappy "insurance" for damaged items. read more

THESE PEOPLE ARE THIEVES AND WILL STEAL YOUR BELONGINGS. To this day, I haven't received follow-up from anyone involved in my move. ******** I will never use this company again. They took advantage of two woman at every turn. I hope this review will help at least one family to not use this company because this short move for a 2 bedroom 2 bath condo cost me a fortune. My move was 6 miles with one stop at a storage unit. The storage unit WAS REQUIRED to be at Bay Park Moving's choice. First...THE OWNER & CEO, DOUG HACKLEY: He jacked me around for days, delaying my move. I needed to be out of my condo by December 1st. That didn't happen. Doug was saying things like "The weather forecast is for heavy rain for 2 days, so we can't move you those days". By this time I could not solicit another mover. My move got delayed until the 8th. Then Doug arbitrarily insisted he wouldn't do the move unless I used the storage facility HE chose for me. HAD TO BE no more than X number of feet from the truck, NO STAIRS/ELEVATORS. Kickbacks much? Then...THE PACKER, ERIC: I am certain he five-finger-discounted (stole) my stainless steel forks. I owned about 25 of them, just beautiful. ALL my eating utensils were in a bamboo silverware divider in a kitchen drawer. The entire silverware divider was placed intact in a box. The ONLY thing missing from this divider was every single one of my forks. Next...THE MOVING TEAM - JOE, VICTOR, ABRAHAM & CHRISTIAN: In my garage were loose items that were not packed in a box. They were as follows: - The stand to my Sony Bravia TV, left loose in plain sight on top of a chopping block kitchen island. - A Stainless Steel Turkey Roaster, Rack and accessories, placed in double-wrapped Vons plastic grocery bags, also on top of the kitchen island. I alerted Foreman (JOE) at the very beginning, when the crew was loading items from the garage. While I was registering at storage, the movers became antsy, barged into the office and demanded to "get in" RIGHT NOW! WOW!! They loaded ALL my belongings into the unit by the time I finished in the office. As I walked up, I was pretty pissed off that they -1. Loaded the entire unit, without having any common courtesy to ask me if I needed my TV Stand, my Christmas Tree OR my Turkey Roaster. (It was, after all, only a couple weeks from Christmas.) 2. Didn't say a word to me about the 2 garage items I asked THE FOREMAN about when loading my belongings from my garage. This was the second time JOE could have updated me about what seemed to be missing. The friendliness and attitudes of the men changed, maybe because they were tired, maybe it was because...who knows?? They were just not as friendly or cooperative anymore. I had already explained to them beforehand where they could park their truck for unloading. They were parked nowhere near where I told them they had prior clearance to park. It took at least 15-20 more minutes for them to configure everything and actually be unloading. Near the end, they were just "eh"-ing my move. I arrived home from the bank with my cash to find my front door completely wide open. This is an atrocity because none of the movers were inside my apartment! They were sitting in their vehicles waiting for me!! I don't know about you, but I find this completely disrespectful. They could have at least closed the door. Anyone could have entered my apartment and helped themselves to several boxes. I found them all in their vehicles and FOREMAN JOE came back to the apartment with me, paperwork in hand. His attitude was lackadaisical, his manners curt, his demeanor cold. He bragged about how he had worked for Doug more than 10 years and that's why he's earned being able to sit back while the others worked their tails off. This statement didn't sit well with me.......Don't EVER forget where you came from. I asked Joe about the missing TV stand and turkey roaster. He claims neither were in my garage. I specifically KNOW AS FACT that when I had my TV mounted on the wall at my condo that I set the stand on top of the chopping block kitchen island, alongside the turkey roaster. He blankly stared and was cocky. He said, "Nope, never saw them" as he looked down. ~~~~~~~~~~ After several attempts at my storage unit, we tried locating the missing items, to no avail. Unfortunately, the movers have placed several very heavy items in front, making moving things around too difficult. I will now have to hire someone to move boxes. Finally, I appealed to DOUG HACKLEY and explained the issues. He took no care in the world by his tone. He gave me his canned response that he would have ERIC THE PACKER and JOE THE FOREMAN call me about the missing pricy kitchen items and the hard-to-replace TV stand. I tried to hire Bay Park Moving, but after speaking with the sales representative I decided to look somewhere else. Susan was very rude from the moment I told her I had a coupon that I received in the mail. When I asked about a specific date, she said they were only available in the afternoon which I had no problem, but she made it seem like it was not worth it and recommended another date in the morning. When I asked her to send me the contract for the new date in the morning she was VERY RUDE. She said she was not going to send me the contract unless I was sure I needed that date. She said she didn't want to reserve the day for me and then have to cancel. I told her that I was trying to hire them, that I needed to move out that date, but in her mind, I was not worth her time or effort. You deserve less than 1 star. Great job Susan! I used this moving company twice in 2020 and 2021 based on a recommendation from another realtor in my office. The 2nd move was a disaster. They showed up late with only 3 guys, my contract stated 6 guys. One guy used my toilet without asking and made the house so stinky. The other guy was slamming furniture and broke my nice glass table without any apologies. It was supposed to be a one day move but due to lack of people, they had to do a second move the following day. The next day the owner Doug showed up and promised me he will replace the broken table, long story short, he only paid me half which really upset me. The customer service went bad. I was very disappointed and frustrated. On the first move in 2020, it was great. They showed up on time, very careful, nothing broke and finished quickly that's why I used them again this year but after my second experience with them, I won't use this company again nor recommend to my colleagues and clients. read more

I was totally impressed with the guys who came out today to move the items that were way too big and heavy for just one or two people. With 2 days notice, 3 guys came over to my home and packed my bulky furniture. They were on time and finished in 2 hours and 10 minutes for a little over $230 bucks. Doug the owner has really changed. I used this company 2 times before about 4 years ago. I decided to use them again since I got good service in the past. If you've read this far, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. If you want to know why, read on. The person answering to the phone has no authority and can't answer any questions or schedule anything. Doug and his office screwed up the insurance paperwork for my office building and kept loosing it. As things were constantly screwed up, Doug would blame his office and the person on the phone would blame him. Hello! You own the company Doug and YOU SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR EVERYTHING. He strung me on for three weeks and kept saying he could do the job and would get it set up but never did. I explained that I had a lease and needed to move by a particular day but he never got it scheduled. He did call me one day in the three week period and said he could move it right NOW. Never mind that he didn't get the proper paper work into the office building to do the move. When we were down to the last couple days to move he randomly showed up at my office and then was belligerent with my secretary when she explained I was in a meeting. Wonderful moving company! Doug comes over and looks at your place and gives and estimate. I like that instead of some guy on the phone guessing. They also don't go more than 10% over their moving quote. Guys did a great job packing and moving. Very nice and polite and efficient! Not a single thing broken or scratched. They moved our piano efficiently. We had a pretty big move and they were up to the task. They ended up coming in under price and time and got themselves a really nice tip for that. Don't ever use them! They have gone downhill. I'm a single mom who didn't have a man around to stand up to this guy. Doug will rip you off quote you one price then when the movers show up its a totally different price so I couldn't tip the movers as much as I had planned. BUYER BEWARE! One star is not a low enough rating for Bay Park Moving. This is the first time that I hired "professional" packers/movers for a residential move, and what I experienced was upsetting, stressful, very costly on many fronts, and frankly shocking. I am particularly horrified as I selected this company based on a referral from family members that used Bay Pay Moving several years ago. There are too many disturbing details to describe herein, but I will summarize key facts. If you have read this far, PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. If you want to know why, please read on. Prior to the move, the Company President and owner, Doug Hackley, SAID multiple times that their company considers and handles everything as if it were fragile. Below is a description of what they DID. This is a listing of damaged items (including descriptions of the damage): 1) Expensive, unique, antique floor lamp (smashed glass column such that several large chucks of glass were broken off, socket and switch were broken off the base, dented pole, made lamp nonfunctional); 2) Vintage wood nightstand (chipped left front top and bottom and several scrapes on right side); 3) 5-shelf bookcase (Broke chunk out of the front right leg); 4) 2 Glass teapots (smashed infuser to pieces on one and chipped the spout on the other); 5) Metal frame for glass dining room table (chipped the top of one side); 6) 6-drawer wood dresser (multiple gashes on one side); 7) Leather and chrome La-Z-Boy recliner/rocker chair (leather scraped off a section in the middle of one side and off both square top corners); 8) Large one-of-a kind artwork (multiple corners dented and damaged); 9) Woven basket (caused unravelling because was packed unprotected under other items); 10) Straw hat (rim damaged due to packing); 11) Long-spout ceramic art/glaze pouring pitcher (the only thing I found was the broken off spout [in 3 pieces] in a box packed by Erik); 12) New, unused, still in package high-density art foam pad (completely dented and rendered unusable because Erik packed it at the bottom of a large box, with multiple heavy art items stacked on top of it); 13) New, unused, still in package regular-density art foam pad (completely dented and rendered unusable because Erik packed it in the middle of a large box, with multiple heavy art items stacked on top of it); 14) 6 hangers (broken into numerous pieces); 15) 1 wooden bookcase plug (lost). My 2 glass teapots were discovered in 2 different boxes that were packed by Junior, using my boxes. The teapot with the infuser that was smashed into pieces was in a box that had no labeling on it at all, and had been loosely packed only using paper. The box in which I found my other glass teapot with the chipped spout was labeled, "dishes from wood shelf" in Junior's handwriting. Although I showed Doug, in person, both my damaged teapots and the boxes in which they had been packed, in his first letter he said that the "...packer's state they did not pack, you packed." Doug revealed to me that my antique floor lamp was broken before the movers had left the house from where I was moving. NO VINTAGE LIGHTING EXPERTS HAVE EVER SEEN A LAMP WITH MY DESIGN. I have contacted experts, glass manufacturers, and glass artists around the globe and no one can replace or exactly replicate the smashed glass piece on my antique floor lamp, so what they broke is irreplaceable. On moving day, I witnessed Donnie roughly flipping up the shelves on a wood shelf causing wooden plugs to fly around the room. When I asked him what he was doing, he made a rude, inappropriate comment and Erik, the "supervisor," then told him to wrap the whole unit in plastic. Here are the reasons, as written in final letter from Doug, for denying some of my claims. My claim for the damage to my La-Z-Boy chair was denied "...as the alleged damage you indicated in your pictures appear to be from normal wear and tear...". Leather scraped off a section in the middle of one side and off both square top corners of a chair is not normal wear and tear, and that damage was not present until after my chair was handled by Bay Park Moving movers. The claims to my 2 pieces of art foam were denied because "...they both appear to be in the original wrapper and any indentations would not have occurred by being packed, it appears to be from years of having something placed on it. Also, there was nothing to be seen for the plastic pitcher you allege was damaged. You...showed a pitcher of just that in the bottom which would never be the case on a box that was packed by Bay Park Moving. We always use unprinted news print in our packing and there was none to be seen and you said it was by itself in a bottom of a box, does not sound like a box packed by Bay Park Moving." My pictures had included ones of the only pitcher remains found in the bottom of a box Erik packed (i.e., the broken off spout [in 3 pieces]) and of Erik's handwriting on the outside of that box. read more

I recently listed my house for sale, and was inundated with moving company solicitations. I received one from Bay Park and the price seemed right so I called to find out more. John was very helpful over the phone, and got me scheduled right away. The crew (Eric?) was late but kept in touch with me throughout the day so I was never in the dark about when they would arrive. Very helpful. I appreciated the courtesy of the updates! The guys came in, asked what was needed and had all of my stuff on the truck in about 1 hour, and then unloaded into the new spot in about 90 min. Perfect. The guys took care of all my furniture like pros. They disassembled everything, wrapped it, loaded it, and then unloaded and reassembled! Awesome. I tipped them each $100 because of how awesome they were. Bottom line is this: Bay Park Moving is great. A friend of mine recently used a different moving company as they live in a different county, and those dudes were strong and could move heavy things, but they weren't pros. We had an 11-1 time slot scheduled and got a call at 9 am that they would not be able to make it anymore due to another client needing more time to move and that we need to either find a new company who can move us or reschedule. Eric, Victor and Junior did an outstanding job moving us. These guys are not only beasts when it comes to moving heavy items, they were overall good people who seemed to care about taking care of their customers. The only reason I am giving this company 2 stars is because of the AMAZING job the movers themselves did. They were very polite, hard working and did a great job taking care of our things. The night before they were supposed to show up I got a text saying they wouldn't be able to make it till around 10-11 the next morning instead of 8:30 AM which had been scheduled for a couple weeks. The client from the day before had issues and they could not unload their trucks. OK... not ideal but not that far off. The next morning around 11 AM I got a call- they had just started to unload their trucks from the previous clients- he would give me an update in 1 hour with the new time of arrival. They didn't show up to our place until around 4:30 PM after us reaching out for updates multiple times and not being given a straight answer on timing. We were supposed to be up in Orange County that evening for dinner and to be ready for an early Friday the next the morning. So the timing was extremely important which they new about. They finished the move at about 9:30 PM- and I was so relieved it was done! Now the part that really irritated me- Doug had said we would get a discount for the EXTREME DELAY. Not only did they NOT give us a discount- they charged us for extra men that we did not agree on! Charging us an extra $200 for "men working" that I never saw working. I feel terribly I couldn't give a good review for the movers themselves who I would use again in an instant if they weren't with this company. I feel very taken advantage of and when I reached out to Doug (since he wasn't there at the end) I never got a response back. read more

I have used these guys 5 times in the past 6 years, yes, I move a lot. The first move was excellent, but ever since then, it's been down hill. Customer service is non existent and on my recent move, the guys had attitude and were extremely rude. I have recommended them to friends in the past, but never again. If I were a good business owner, when the same customer comes back 5 times in as many years, I'd be going out of my way to keep him happy. read more

Be careful. They damaged my expensive sofa on this relatively easy move.Their policy for submitting a claim is not very good -- the woman was not helpful when I had called in. So, I'm submitting what seems like a lot of paper work and documentation. I will keep yelpers posted on their responsiveness to the claim. I have not yet heard anything. read more

I am shocked to see so many good reviews and have to assume these are friends or paid reviews. They damaged literally every single piece of furniture they moved. When I booked them I was told they used moving pads. Lie. Not only that, but the movers were checking their fantasy football scores and talking about how hungover they were while eating into my moving time. They do not protect your furniture nor care for it in the least. I told them I had a piano, they said "no problem." Oh, it was a problem. Items damaged: brand new large entertainment stand, two bookshelves, desk drawer, piano. They dragged my piano down a flight of stairs leaving behind huge chunks of wood on the cement steps. As I looked on horrified the mover said, "oh don't worry, they won't charge you for the damage," referring to the apartment complex charging me for the huge chunks of cement that came off the stairs as they dragged the piano down the steps. As though I care about the stupid stairs! Note - the piano is a 123 years old antique Kimball piano. I have to now pay for an appraiser to determine the exact cost of the damage they carelessly inflicted on the underside of the piano. Devastating. My new entertainment center - wasn't protected and half of it is completely damaged. Two drawers shattered beyond repair, wood damage on one side. My large bookshelf - they scratched an entire side of it, and not tiny little scratches. Several huge long, wide scratches covering an entire side of the bookshelf. Wood chip paint isn't gonna fix this. It needs to be replaced it's so bad. Then they put the bookshelf down on the ground so I wouldn't see the damage until days later when I lifted it up off the ground. Shady. My second bookshelf - the backing looks like it was kicked or hit with a hammer. I can't even guess as to how that damage happened. The movers themselves were acting like this was the most difficult move of their life, eye rolls, sighing. I only needed them to move 7 pieces of furniture, surely they've had more difficult moves. I don't have much, just a few pieces of furniture, which is why this is all the more upsetting. When I called to voice my sadness, disappointment, and to voice my complaint, the response was, "file a claim." Well, great thanks, of course I will. But I really wanted a sincere apology. Not an insincere "sorry" which was just code for, "i'm hanging up the phone now." Yeah, they're inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. There's no way these 5 star reviews are legit. They've got to be paid for or favors from friends. I don't buy it for a second! How could my experience be so horrible and others were just fantastic? It just doesn't hold true. This experience has been incredibly upsetting. I wish I could just move on and forget about it, but having to look at permanently damaged furniture every day makes my blood boil. My apartment looks like a place where furniture goes to die, not a nicely decorated home. Horrible horrible horrible experience. Horrible! read more
