I personally own a 2000 C5 Corvette. The Corvette recently developed a problem so with that said I took my 25 year old vehicle to John Watson Chevy in Ogden, Utah. Located on Wall Avenue. I went to the service department for that is where I felt my 25 year old car would get the proper service being as old as it is. After a day of being diagnosed, I was called by my advisor and told that the car needed a new fuel pump and filter. He then said that GM no longer supported my car with the parts. Then he proceeded to tell me that it was available from a aftermarket vendor. I told him to go for it, he told me that it would take a couple of days before they were going to have the parts. I informed him I didn't care how long it was going to take because I do not use it on a daily basis. Like Mike said, the part arrived on time and they then put it in my car. I personally could not be happier with the way things went! The car was returned, I left the dealership with the thought that if it was going to need any future repairs that I would definitely be taking it back for service @ John Watson Chevy for assistance do to the age it is! I will give the service department and all of the advisors, mechanics, even the shuttle crew member high 5's for the way that they handle the situation from beginning to end!! Brought my z51 corvette into the dealership for an oil change because most regular oil change places refuse to work on it because it has a dry oil sump system with 2 drain plugs. Got to my 1130 appointment and at 1 pm they said it was done and the receipt showed 7 quarts of oil was changed but this model has 10 quarts total. That's a clear sign that they only drained the main drain plug and there was still 3 qts of old oil in it. I showed them and after some convincing and showing them my old receipt from when I came last time they took my car back and assured me they'd do both drain plugs and put 10 new qts of oil in. I appreciate them fixing the mistake but it does make me a little worried to come back here if their techs don't even know how to do proper oil changes on different models of their own brand of cars. Also makes me wonder if they really drained all the old oil out or just did a quick fix or something. Everyone was nice and apologetic so I guess I don't have much to complain about. Next time when I come in I'll make sure to explain to them my previous issues and hope for the best. read more

Don't get trapped in their service agreement!! I dropped my Colorado off night before a schedule appointment so they had all day for an oil change, tire rotation and check engine light. By 4:30 I hadn't heard anything from them so I called and my service manager had gone home to start her holiday weekend. They would've left me stranded right through the holiday without a truck because they got hadn't got around to diagnosing the check engine light. No email, no text, no phone call just walked away and left me stranded. As soon as my last prepaid oil change is complete. I'll find a new mechanic. p.s. if you do have a service agreement understand that is completely on you to track and notify them. They will bill you for every service then cheerfully apologize when you point out that it's already prepaid. The front desk openly acknowledges they have no communication with the service department situation just 40 ft away. They leave it up to you the customer to track and notify them of all prior commitments they've made. read more

My elderly parents purchased a new used car fr Dee Christofferson last week. They went in under the impression it would be 25k but when it was all done, the final cost ended up 31K (20% up charge). I'm so disappointed in this transaction for my parents. They are on a strict budget. Not only that, Dee hands over the car to my father without telling him how any of the things in the car work. The least he could have done was shown my parents what the buttons and technology within the car work. It's a base model car that was a rental which Dee apparently reiterated that it was rented by the church-meaning church people don't abuse rentals like other heathens. I feel that my parents were taken advantage of and even after they overpaid for the car they got, they don't even know how any of the buttons/technology works. I'm very disappointed in Dee and John Watson. read more

Not sure why I bothered with an appointment to wait 2 hours for an oil change. Why would it take so long when you are the first appointment taken? On top of that, it seems like an inconvenience to speak to anyone who works here. Don't waste your time even if you've spent over $100,000 in car purchases. I'm still here by the way - hopefully I can make it to lunch with my family but who knows how long this could take. read more

This is a stupid place. I bought a two year old chevy equinox that I really love but I ended up having to use my emergency fob because my first got damaged. My emergency fob is programmed TEEN DRIVER MODE and they wouldn't cover fixing that despite it being an issue that they caused. Instead of going through the proper checks they didn't even look to see if this one was programmed differently at all. Not only that but Ivan has been incredibly rude, saying it wasn't there fault and that because it was over a year since it was purchased (by a singular month at that point) that it wasn't there fault. He said he would give me a discount then as a substitute but when I asked what the discount was he quoted be $500. Not only that but he was rude the whole entire time saying that their cars are sold as is. BUT THEY ARE THE ONES WHO PROGRAMMED IT. I took it to another dealership to see if they could take it out but the pin has to be fixed BY THEM. We all dread getting that repair done, especially when we have an emergency. I am so glad there are still reputable high customer service operations like john Watson Chevrolet. Long story short, I had a breakdown while visiting my worksites in Ogden. One yelp later, I am telling my sad story to Bryan the service manager. He gets my vehicle in, gets me to the train station to get to my house, and while I am still on the train gets the work done. I get picked back up at the station, and pick up my vehicle no hassle. The service manager at Tom Watson is very unfriendly and could care less about taking care of GM warranty issues in a professional manner. My brand new 2022 Silverado is on its fourth visit to JW for repair. The Service manger acts like the lemon truck is my problem and not really GM's issue. He also has made getting a rental while they repair my truck for the fourth time a hassle. I've had the truck for only a month and it has been in JW's garage longer than my own. But somehow this is my fault. read more

Worst Service Department in the State. Charged me $500 for a repair that did not fix my truck. I have taken it back several time and my truck has spent nearly 3 weeks in the shop. Still not fixed! I didn't even make it out of their parking lot before I knew it wasn't fixed. Service Advisor and Service Manager gives you the runaround and is full of excuses. Technician is incompetent. Service Manager refused to give me a refund on my $500 even though my truck is still not fixed. I would never do business with this dealership again, and neither should you. They treat you like you are an idiot. The refuse to listen to anything you have to say. By far the worst service I have ever experienced. I am a loyal GM owner, but I WILL NEVER go back to John Watson. My company buys and services their fleet of trucks there, and I will do everything in my power to change that. read more

The service department makes all the difference. After bringing my Tahoe here for 12 years I can honestly say Watson has been the best dealership to work with anywhere in Weber and as far as I'm concerned Davis County. The service departments in this state are an embarrassment, which is why I feel compelled to give Watson a great review. Here's what to expect, great communication they will actually call you with updates about your car. They fix what is wrong and don't try to get you to do more if it's not actually necessary, and the work has been done correctly when you get your car back. I've had nothing but positive experiences working with them. I highly recommend them. read more

My brother in law was recently at this location for a basic oil change and left with damage to his front bumper sensor. The best they could offer was not to right THEIR wrong but to deny any mistake on their part and still charge over $100 in repairs and significant time out of his already short duration in Utah, visiting family for the holidays for the first time in nearly 10 years. As a soldier who has spent the last ten years overseas, fighting, and stationed all over the world, the "customer service" he received is appalling and we will continue to refer family and friends elsewhere for car purchases and services I'm embarrassed that he was ever referred to your dealership for service in the first place. I have to thank John Watson for taking care of us a few nights ago. We came to them because of a bad experience we had the night before and we were getting really tired of salesmen trying to play games with us on a vehicle. Andrew came out to greet us and was so genuine. We told him what we were looking for and our price range and he was able to show us every available car on the lot in that range. He event entertained my questions about the higher priced vehicles that we told him we weren't in the market for. He gave us so many options and wasn't pushy or wishy-washy with prices. The prices they show you are the price you go home with. No negotiating, which I really appreciated! He let us test drive a vehicle that he had just gotten as a trade in that he thought we might like even though it hadn't been detailed or anything yet. We were there late (almost 8pm) and said he'd have it ready and detailed the next day for us to come look at if we were interested. Gave us his phone number and said to text him if we were coming back. Didn't push to get our numbers or anything which I also appreciated! (I'm still getting phone calls from Tim Dahle Nissan in Bountiful and Murray after they bait and switched us on a vehicle and I've been trying to get them to stop calling). We texted him that night and told him we wanted to see it tomorrow and test drive it. He had it ready for us and we were able to test drive it. He was able to give us information about the vehicle, what the previous owner was like and how it was taken care of. He even offered to order us some touch up paint for a scuff on the bumper. We had such a great experience here we won't be shopping elsewhere in the future. We appreciated the honesty, integrity and genuine nature of Andrew. The finance guy was also great. Super organized and friendly. No funny business here, just straight to the point! Loved it. Thank you for making our car-buying experience so easy. Wish we would've came to you first! read more

I took a road trip from L.A. to my childhood home through Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho and Utah. Having driven further than expected, I made an appointment for service before driving the 1,000 miles back to L.A. at the last second at John Watson in Ogden...my last stop of seeing friends. The service guys bent over backwards to get me back on the road in a heartbeat. Kim, who has been with the company for 30 years gave me a fun history of the many beautiful vintage cars on display in the showroom and even took me to the admin building next door to show me more! I explained that I had been to a few places and no one could help me with how to use their public charging ports. We purchased our car a year ago from this dealership. We had a really good experience and Andy and Terrance where amazing to work with!!! (And honestly the only reason I am even giving two stars.) But going for our one year appointment did not impress me at all!!! When I got to the dealership for my appointment (oil change and touch of class) no one was there to check me in the service offices. So I went to what I thought was the appointment desk to let them know I was there. As I spoke to the girl (who was very nice) a gentleman (salesman?) came up and very rudely cut me off and stated that the girl i was speaking to was simply a cashier and couldn't help me and I just needed to wait. He then pointed to where I guess I was supposed to be? Someone then showed up but there were others waiting so I had to wait about 10 minutes to get checked in. That was fine and the gentleman who helped was nice. I mentioned an issue I was having with the car, But he informed me that the only had time for an oil change and I would need to make a different appointment. He was rushing so when I asked about making the appointment he stated I could do that when I picked it up. I then went to work. They called and left a message the car was done and I headed back to get it just after 6pm. When I got there the service station was closed so a different girl at the main desk said my car was ready and handed me my keys. I asked about making an appointment for the other issue and was told I would have to call in the morning she couldn't help me. When I opened my doors, my car seemed clean and smelled great so I ran some errands. After a couple hours I headed home. When I got home, I went to reinstall car seats that we usually have in the car and was very unhappy to find my carpets still really wet. This was because the all-weather mats were put back on before it had dried! Which no one told me about. (I had asked if I needed to remove them when I scheduled the appointment.) So I had to pull all those out for the carpets to dry properly. And by that time my car was smelling kinda musty (like wet, clean clothes left in the dryer too long). And in the process of pulling out the mats I noticed quite a few places that were poorly cleaned or missed completely. And my front passenger side mat was actually damaged!!! I am really disappointed in the service that was provided. We purchased the touch of class with the expectation that it would be a very thorough detail...and it wasn't. And previously I had always been treated with courtesy and respect from your employees...and this time I wasn't. And I am just lucky I noticed the wet carpets and didn't leave them unattended overnight or however long it would have take to dry with those heavy mats on top. I really feel like the whole experience was just really unprofessional and unpleasant. Definitely makes me not want to bring my car back. read more

I recently purchased a 2015 kia sorento with 111000 miles on it from John Watson chevrolet on wall Ave in ogden. The vehicle was not driven but a couple hundred miles when the engine light came on. I called and spoke to the salesman who sold it to me and explained the situation. He told me he would have to talk to his supervisor and get back to me as I've had the car for 30 days. I explained that I was in the hospital for two weeks and would be glad to bring my paperwork in. He seemed very disinterested and said he would get back to me. He called back and said the would not be able to do anything and he was sorry. From a customer confidence level I am extremely disappointed and will discourage any of my friends and family to patronize John Watson chevrolet. Very poor management and making it right is not part of their business strategy. Honesty and integrity exists in auto sales, just not at John Watson Chevrolet. read more

Worst customer service ever!. Called to find inquire wait time for an oil change and bryan said it was a 45 minute wait. When I arrived 1 hr later, I was told it was now a 2 hr wait. Asked if I'd loose my place if I ran an errand and be back in 1 hr. Bryan said " no I wouldn't". He took my info, I returned 1 hr later only to be told it was still a 2 hr wait and I was at the bottom of the list. The kicker of it all. He said it with a smile on his face. WOW read more

Got a Saturn and sense Saturn went out of business we have to go to a GM to get anything covered on our car. We got a letter in mail about a recall on our full pump and because we already had it replaced a year and a half ago we could get a refund at our local GM so we came here. As soon as we got there everyone was so nice! The man at the service center was so friendly and worked really hard to get us help and help fast. With no problem they took our information and paper work and we got our reimbursement two days later. I think the service and staff is great! I recommend coming here. read more

I went to Watson Chevrolet to ask about a vehicle they had posted online. I walked in and asked the receptionist if I could speak to a sales man. She called for sales to the show room immediately. After waiting 5 minutes and no sales man showing up she Called again. Another five minutes went by with no sales men in sight. She called again, and once again 10 minutes later no sales men. I would like to preface this review by saying we are a military family, my husband has spent the last 10 years overseas and stationed around the world serving our country, and we are no longer current residents of Utah. After nearly a decade, we were finally able to make it "home" to spend Christmas with our families. Upon arrival we felt it best to take our truck for what should have been a ROUTINE OIL CHANGE and recall work on the brake system. John Watson came highly recommended to us. Unfortunately, we left with front bumper sensor damage (hundreds of dollars in repairs) and neither the service manager nor the owner (??) care to admit there was any wrong-doing on their service technicians part. They continued to tell us their techs have YEARS of experience and "would get fired over not reporting something like that". Needless to say, we now have to pay a pretty penny to have something fixed that wasn't an issue before having gone in for ROUTINE work. Why the one star?? Only because I couldn't publish this review with NONE. What a way to spend a holiday. Thanks for supporting your troops. read more

I purchased a brand new 2018 Chevy Cruz. After it was washed, my husband and I noticed bugs melted - yes melted - all over the cars paint. We were told this was "normal" and it was because of the lights in the parking lot killing the bugs and then they fall on the car and melt into the top coat. That is what we were told. When I questioned this, they got mad and acted like I was being unreasonable questioning them about this. They gave us a loaner car and repainted the car (this took a few weeks). I asked around about this issue including dealerships on the same street as them. NONE had ever heard of this issue and one person suggested I got a salvaged car. I called and spoke with the manager. He got really mad and was yelling that he didn't like people suggesting he was doing something wrong. He said this was a normal issue (the bugs melting into paint). I said I was calling because mechanics and car salesmen said this was not normal and to check to see what really was going on. I said I felt deceived because this was not disclosed when the car was purchased (it was unnoticeable because the car had not been washed yet). He kept yelling that it was normal and said he didn't want to discuss the issue anymore. That was how the conversation ended. read more

Terrible communication, and not a dependable dealership. Our vehicle needed an oil change the week after we bought it. We had a set of tires that were worn from the inside tread and had to be replaced within 2 months. The tires had obviously not been rotated well. They were not forthcoming about the financing and changes were made after we had already taken the vehicle and signed the papers. We've had problems getting our plates because the dealership didn't complete everything necessary on their end. Definitely not a place we will EVER buy a car from again. read more

so me and my friend needed to get her exhaust changed on her car. all the workers were very unhelpful and acted very pretentious. they treated us like we had no idea what we were talking about and ended up not helping us at all. i do not recommend this dealership at all. so i would go to one that would actually help you! read more

Work was done correctly and the whole shop is professional and highly skilled. They are definitely the best ones to work on my Chevy.

I had a recall on my 2005 Saturn Ion Redline for the cam shaft housing seal. Usually it is a straight forward seal replacement, however, since Saturn is no longer made, parts are harder to find and they could only find the whole housing with the updated seal. This meant having to remove the cam sensor for the new housing. They did the job and it started ok the first time, intermittently it would crank and halfway want to start. After getting it to start I took it back in and told them that there are many other instances where reported that when the cam sensor has been taken out and put it, if it is not perfect it will cause this similar issue and it will need a cam/crank relearn. After getting the car back the second time it would crank for a long time before starting but it would at least start every time, and the half way starting was not happening, so at least we were making progress. At this point they had a new tech look at it and I was told I would need a new ECM and wiring harness because they weren't getting a fuel injector signal, (which the cam sensor effects). I spoke with the service manager who was no help and agreed with his technician for putting in a new ECM and wiring harness. After getting upper management involved up to Jeff the general manager, I got a new service writer and veteran tech who found that the original tech was off by a tooth when installing the cam sensor housing. I understand mistakes happen but Brian my original service writer and the service manager Kevin could've handled this in a much more professional manner, especially with something like this that was basic troubleshooting. The car is running and starting as it was when I originally brought it in. Dealing with Mike my second service writer was easy and pleasant and Jeff was very understanding and helpful listening my concerns. read more

I would give negative stars if I could. I have never dealt with a company so dishonest. Took our car in to get a diagnosis. They said I needed to get 2 different diagnosis...wrong. Every other mechanic I talked to said 1 is more than enough. So they charged me twice thanks for being honest. They didn't tell me that until after the service was done. And they didn't honor their coupon they sent in the mail. Which is the only reason we went there in the first place. The service cashier said it was it was included, after I added the service performed...surprise, surprise it wasn't. More money hey stole from us. Now that we took it to a different mechanic...surprise surprise again it is the wrong diagnosis. So we bad double for crap information. I am never coming to this crooked establishment again. They have lost all business and all positive feedback I would ever give. Save your self money and go somewhere else. read more

I recently contacted their parts and service departments to get a part ordered and replaced on my car due to a factory recall. In addition to having the part replaced GMC was offering a gift card to those who completed to necessary replacement by Dec 31 2014. Therefore, my initial call to have the part ordered occurred early in November so as to provide adequate time for the part to arrive and to schedule a time to have the part installed by the December deadline. I was told that I would receive a call once the part had arrived so that I could get the car in for the part to be put in. I waited 2 weeks and heard nothing, so I called again. I called around 10 minutes prior to the parts department closing simply to ascertain whether the part had been delivered. I was warmly greeted by the service department until I asked whether the part had arrived or not when I was asked to wait for the next employee who was available. I waited 10 minutes when right at 530 the phone was picked up and then hung up. If it weren't for the way things occurred next I would be willing to chalk it up to an error. I assumed they would make an attempt to call me back but the phone call never came. A few weeks later I attempted to contact them again and was placed on hold 4 consecutive times while receiving no answer to my phone call or questions. I assumed the part had not arrived and waited again. The deadline came and went, I was willing to put the deal of the gift card aside until I called about two weeks into January. I, miraculously, spoke to someone in the parts department who informed me that the part had indeed arrived in November, 3-4 days after I called and that he was very surprised that I never recieved a phone call in connection with the arrival of the part! However, his helpfulness ended here when he told me that no one in the service department was answering to set up an appointment to get the part put in. He told me he would walk over to the service department right away and call me. He took my name and number but I never received the promised phone call. After a few hours of anticipation I caved and called the service department directly to schedule a time for the part to be put in. I did indeed get hold of someone again and had the part installation scheduled for the following Monday. I had the part installed and about two days following that I received a follow up phone call inquiring how the service went. When I notified the caller of my frustrations and the loss of the opportunity to receive the gift card I was given a thank you for your time and then the call was disconnected. I can't help but feel the call was simply a formality with no real expectation to correct any issue in the process and the offer to correct any issue that may have occurred was given disingenuously. In summation of the issue I am very disappointed in the customer service and lack of professionalism that this company showed in this interaction and that once again I, being their customer, am the one left making the effort to resolve the situation. I have sent an email multiple times to the company mirroring this one almost identically multiple times and have yet to receive so much as a phone call to apologize for the issue. read more
