Villa is a Johnstown staple, no question. It has a fantastic cracker crust that doesn't disappoint. It's hard to find one like it. However, accuracy and service are lacking. I've been eating here since I was a small child and I can genuinely think of only a handful times they have actually got our order correct. We're not particularly difficult orderers either. The most complex thing we ask for if a plain Italian sub. But our food is consistently wrong and if you say anything about it the owners are super rude. After frequenting this restaurant for close to 10 years we finally had a bad experience. The bad experience was due to the staff & their lack of caring about the customers. We always order the same thing. A large cold pepperoni with extra sauc underneath the cheese. This actually requires them to make a fresh pizza instead of one they have pre-made. We don't like the extra sauce being on top of the cheese & pepperoni. It causes the pepperoni to not crisp up when baked. I had to walk into place our order because their phones rang busy for 30 minutes. I'm not sure if they were just really busy or if there was something wrong with them. While I was in the restaurant only 1 person came in. The young woman took my order & told me it would be 15 minutes. After less than 10 minutes she called our name. Sitting on the counter was a pizza & a container of sauce. I asked why it was on the side. She said that's the way they do it now. I explained I placed my order specifically requesting it on the pizza under the cheese. She asked if I wanted them to fix it. I said yes. She sighed & took it away. About 5 minutes later she returned with just the pizza box. The next part is absolutely, 100% my fault but the pizza was still wrong but I didn't know until we got home. I have supplied a picture of the pizza. I guess they just decided to dump the sauce on top of the pizza which exactly what I didn't want. I tried to call again but the phone was still ringing busy. I would like to say we drive out to Johnstown from Columbus for this pizza. read more

Still missing Dirkos, but this is the premier pizza shop in Johnstown. The subs are a good size & definitely worth ordering. The pizza has a somewhat sweet sauce, which I like & are not lacking toppings. The BBQ chicken pizza is epic & definitely worth trying. The people working, are always nice & respectful. Carry out only, no seating inside so their focus is just making fantastic square cut pizza. This place is one of my favorites, the crust is thin, the sauce is delicious and they always pack it with toppings. We got two smalls, one with ham, bacon, pineapple and the other with pepperoni, mushrooms, onion and banana peppers. The last couple of times we have ordered from here has not been good. Once the pizza tasted funny and we didn't eat it. The last I ordered a pizza sub and was given a different kind of sub. We returned the wrong sub and got a refund. The two stars were for them offering to remake the pizza sub. Sad as this place is in walking distance from my house. Our favorite pizzas are BBQ chicken, taco, and the cinnamon dessert pizza. I am not a huge fan of the regular pepperoni/cheese, but it's ok. There isn't indoor seating or delivery but the inside is always clean and there is a bench to sit at while you wait for your order to be finished. The prices are great and the staff is always friendly. A wonderful local spot to support and get some delicious pizza from. read more

We ordered takeout on a busy Friday and after a few calls that were "busy," we were worried it would be a long wait. Which is why we were shocked when they said it would only be 20 minutes- and it was! We picked up a hot meal in the exact timeline suggested. The meatballs were delicious and a hit with the whole family, as were the soft and warm chocolate chip cookies. The pizza was very good- crisp yet soft crust with flavor, tasty cheesy, and a dynamic sauce. My only complaint is to fix the grilled chicken salad- it was simply frozen chicken strips (very rubbery) with shredded lettuce, shredded cheese, and tomatoes. Best pizza around! Thank you the owner(sorry we didn't exchange names) we spoke in length about Gluten intolerance/celiac disease. I had a real concern about the handling of their products for preparing a gluten free pizza. The biggest offender with gluten for me,is pizza. Pizza has sent me to the er too many times. He explained how they handle and prepare and I felt good he took the timeI LOVED IT AND HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS! My husband also got a pizza regular and again I'll say, BEST PIZZA EVER! The owner also explained crust/dough and they use the best of everything going into their pizzas! So if your buying pizza anywhere else, you not getting the real deal! Before our last order, Johnnies would have been rated a 5 for us. But after the pizza we just had, lets just say we will never order a pizza from them ever again. It was the worst pizza either of us has ever had. It was tasteless, dry, and the ham was thrown on as an afterthought, not even baked into the pie. Did they even put any sauce on it? I couldn't tell, but it sure didn't taste like it. I happened to have a jar at home, and had to add it on to make the pizza edible. It was THAT bad. The ONLY good thing I can say about it was the toppings were generous, but what good is that if there is no sauce? It probably tasted so dry because of the lack of sauce. We will stick to their baked spaghetti with smothered meatballs next time, which we love. read more

The best pizza in Johnstown and New Albany, hands down - the best pizza ever, in my opinion. I spent the last 7 years in Chicago chasing the best pizza, have eaten pizza in pretty much every state, even in Europe; nothing like Villa. My grandparents got my dad and his siblings on it, and for any get together where pizza is the main course, the unanimous decision is always Villa. Large pep with extra cheese is a delicious choice, but our family recipe is the pep, sausage, mushroom, and banana peppers. A double sub is another great go-to, and usually also a family favorite - make this your pizza night place! read more

Alright - I confess. I grew up on this pizza. Yes this pizza is the reason why I should either be wearing stretch pants or working out very hard everyday. I have decided to hedge my bet and wear stretchy pants and work out but anyway about the place. There is no dining in. There is no delviery -just carry out. The place is about the pizza. The pizza is a cracker crust. This means that the crust is cripsy and there are air pockets. It adds to the uniqueness as compared to a Donatos and a Pizza Hut. The Pizzas I recommend. I love the basic Pepperoni and or Pep and Sausage. The pizza can get soggy if you add too many greasy meats but I still believe it is a great pizza. The other pizza they do that is very unique and tasty is the Taco Pizza. The pizza is a taco meat and cheese pizza topped with shredded lettuce and tomatoe served with sides of sour cream and salsa. It is very very yummy. Cost: A large 2 topping pizza will run you about $13. Side Note - Baked subs are good and offer an alternative. Speed - They churn out these pies pretty fast. 15 - 20 mins usually. Once you order - you might as well get in your car and go get it :-) If you are in Johnstown or the New Albany (sister restaurant) then give it a try. As many of my neighbors and childhood friends will attest (heck - go there on a Friday Night during Fall / Winter) - you will experience how well Villa Pizza is loved. read more

My sister lives in Johnstown and I request this pizza every time I am in town as it is a favorite. It is a local owned spot that makes fresh pizza and serves the community. The pizza is thin crusted and has a good consistency with a nice tomato sauce and always has plenty of toppings including cheese. I particularly like their sausage as it is crumbly and spreads across the pizza so you get some in every bite. Also really enjoy the taco pizza, it is different from what I have had at other places and is really good with a little hot sauce. My only complaint is that they don't deliver and to me that is the point of ordering pizza. They also have a lot of high schoolers work there so not always the best customer service, but the pizza is still worth the drive. read more

I want to love this place because it is a hometown staple, but the pizza is just not good. Two words: canned mushrooms. The crust is flavorless and is like eating a slightly thicker saltine cracker, but without the salt. The sauce tastes like it's from a can and is way too salty, perhaps in an effort to make up for the bland, dry crust? I've never understood why this pizza is so popular with the locals, except to say that for years and years this was the only pizza place that Johnstown had. I love pizza, but with so many other great options in the central Ohio area, it's not worth ordering it from here. The subs have always been decent though, as is the baked spaghetti, and the prices are very reasonable. Go for the Italian or meatball sub and skip the pizza. read more

I drive from Newark about once a month to get a Villa Pizza. Their quality is excellent. I have never been dissatisfied with their pizza. I have tried all the pizza places in Newark and non of them have the same quality as Villa Pizza. It is worth the 25 minute drive to get a pizza from Villa. My favorite is Sausage, Pepperoni and mushroom always large. I suggest anyone reading this give them a try. You will be hooked I am certain.
