I was a consistent customer of J K's for many reasons mainly their fries. I like crinkle cut fries....and I like them hot! And that was the way they serve them. Well, they decided to change their fries from crinkle cut to shoe string fries,....which are horrible! I am assuming they did this for cost reasons, it surely can't be for a better tasting fries. I hope they realize they made a bad decision and go back to crinkle cut fries. They have a great Italian Beef & Sausage sandwich, better than Portillo's and definitely competes with Al's beef. If the place had better fries I'd give it 5 stars. The fries are OK, but not 5 star. They have a nice seating area with comfortable booths. They have cheap wine and beer on tap. The menu is HUGE, so I can't comment on anything beyond the beef/sausage personally. This restaurant recycles food when it is returned by customers. I was given someone else's order and immediately returned. As I arrived, the person who had my order was also returning their order. The cooks tried to give me the order that another customer had been given, taken away from the store, opened and possibly touched. The security guard had to explain to them why I don't want it. They were not happy and I didn't someone who is upset with me re-making my meal. I didn't trust that and I have a right to be comfortable about the food me and my family consume. First I was offered a refund and then told I could only receive a credit to specifically get the same exact meal instead of because able to apply the $24 bucks to something else on the menu. This is why I don't eat out. I was given the owners name and number. However in the meantime I've contacted my bank to dispute the charge. Keep your credit for food; after seeing the demeanor of your cooks, lack of responsibility of the cashier who took my money only for me to be given the wrong food and never apologized...no thanks. read more

I used to love going here with my boyfriend. It was a great place to grab something to eat, late night, after we left the bar/ movies. They used to have the best buffalo chicken wrap I ever had. Unfortunately, I feel that everything has gone down hill. The food is not as good as it was before and the prices have gotten higher. PLEASE!!!!!! To all you people who haven't been to johnny k's yet......DON'T!!!!!!! GO TO PANO'S!!!!!!!!! I can't explain to you all enough how ridiculously expensive this dump is. Gyro meal is almost 10 bucks, yes that's what I said, Pano's is under 7. Don't forget that most of restaurants that sell gyros buy them from the same company which is Kronos, so how much of a difference in taste is there? .... NOTHING! !!! They have f'd up my order many times and when you call to let them know they put you on hold for a looooooong time. The old man owner is an asshole, he got mad at me because I returned uncooked chicken tenders and gave me an attitude. He first wouldn't acknowledge the mistake so I threatened to phone police, then he came to his "senses" and returned my money cause he didn't want to remake the order. The girls working there are ditsy and unprofessional, I don't want to walk into an establishment and get "honey" and "sweetie" verbally thrown in my face. You have to pay EXTRA for feta cheese when you order any gyro items. My wife's coworkers ordered for delivery to the job and had gotten the wrong food and when they called the employee said sorry because the person took a bite of their food. I eat from this establishment at least six times a month. Normally I love the food. They are fast and everything is so good. Although my experience tonight completely changed my mind. I ordered a corn dog meal with the lemon chicken rice soup. I tasted the soup and it was like biting into a lemon with every spoonful. Both corn dogs were burned and tasted horrible. Needless to say I called and complained. Jennifer the 'manager' was very rude to me and was surprised I had any complaints at all (i got this impression from the tone of her voice) I asked for a refund and was told that it's against company policy to give a refund. However I saw this policy nowhere on their receipt or website. So Jennifer offered to send my order out again. I accepted her offer but asked for French fries instead of soup. Guess what? Food is great cooks got the food out really quick. I try to go to Johnny k's at least four times a week. Until I got terribly disappointed for the third time about two months ago with one of the waitress name Corina she was really rude rolled her eyes on my husband and I once she gave us our food it had been sitting in the counter for a good 15 minutes she was busy on her phone and laughing. We stopped going for a week or so after that. We decided to go back this time we ordered on the drive thru. It was quick but the young lady in the window just asked for the money slammed the window on us and once the food was ready didn't even bother to say thank you or have a good night etc. she slammed the window she was nice to us on other occasions so I assumed she was having a bad day we asked her for her name before and she replied by telling us her name was Jenny. Besides the bad attitudes of both of the girls we still decided to go back BIG MISTAKE!! We got another girl with major attitude problems she was on the phone the entire time and asking us to wait and even answer her phone. We didn't bother to stay we where walking out when she asked us if we where going to order or not I laughed and told my husband this was unbelievable I didn't asked for her name but we saw that on her visor or hat it said Barbie. The owners are really nice people the cooks are friendly and quick never giving attitudes but honestly the girls are just the opposite of them they should be more friendly more professional. As for now I don't think I want to back to get attitude problems and un professional service from the girls. I wish that business the best. But you might want to change some of the girls. I have been ordering food from here for over 9 years. The food is good, however the customer service is getting worse. I called in an order today and when I asked the woman to repeat my order, her tone indicated she was irritated or mad. As I continued my order, her attitude became worst. When I asked to speak to her manager, she said he was not there. Living a short distance away, I drove to the restaurant hoping to speak to someone in charge. When I approached the counter, 3 women were standing around. 1 lady asked if she could help me. I explained I wanted to speak to manager and she proceeded to the back of the restaurant. At that point I assumed she went to get a manager. About 5 minutes passed and one of the women standing there earlier (who never left the counter and heard me ask for a manager), tells me she's the manager. I explain what happened and she gives me this bored look and asks me if I want a pop, for driving there. I couldn't believe it. She never apologized or asked the name of the employee, i spoke to (which I told her the lady's name anyways). Gyro platter is ample for a good apatite just remember to order a few extra pitas. and the greek chicken dinner is also a good choice. Well I've been having Johnny K's pretty often recently, and it's because the quality of the food has gone up drastically. Pretty much everything I've tried has been delicious. I'm not sure if they got new cooks, or the owner cracked down, or what. The salads are crisp, cold, and crunchy, the ribs are fall-off-the-bone delicious, the fish n chips was scrumptious with the tartar sauce...etc. I'm a fan again. Since I was going to River Oaks Mall (Carson's gift card) and my wife wanted Gyro's and the two reviews here were glowing I made a stop. You can count this as 2 times I went to Johnny K's....my first and my last. The food was very bland and yes they did give us a ton of fries, too bad the bulk of them were burned. My wife had the Gyros which was not the best outside of Greek town I doubt it is the best within a mile. I had the Philly beef which had absolutely no taste whatsoever. Firstly it took not even a good 30 minutes and my food was cooked and delivered hot and yummy! The delivery person was absolutley awesome I accidentally gave the person $29.50 out of $33.20 and they kindley said "this is only 29 dollars hun" And totally understood it was a simple mistake I will DEFINATLEY be back here and the sandwhichs mmmmmmm GOOD. I have frequented Johnny K's for many years. The food is very good! Normally, the employees at the drive through window are very customer service oriented/friendly. Yesterday, Tuesday, June 30, 2015, a young African American lady who manned the window was extremely rude. She snapped at me because I was asking her a question or two about the hot dogs (Chicago style). When I got to the window, she rolled her eyes at me. I then told her that she was very rude and that if she can't deal with customer questions, she shouldn't be in a job that services customers. She argued back and forth with me. After she closed the window, I could hear her telling her co-workers of our interaction. I asked for her manager. Some young Causasion woman was standing right next to her. I told her what happened. She, the alleged manager, just nodded her head with a smirk on her face. I will call there today to see if the owner is around.
