We ordered delivery from Johnny Long Hots last night and their pizza is worse than carnival pizza. The cheesesteak was okay but we added some long hots to it and it really helped. What saves them is their long hots which are absolutely delicious stuffed with prosciutto and provolone and baked to perfection. Delivery took a long time but that has to be expected as it was so hot and they're trying their best. They really need to work on their food quality though if they're going to compete in this area. read more

Been to other Johnny's and the food was awesome. This location was good but I've had better. A cheesesteak and fries to share. The sandwiches are massive so for lunch one can feed 2 people. Young girl that took our order was nice and efficient. Food didn't take very long. While waiting for our food a look around the restaurant gave me the impression ot was a touch dingy and needed some deep cleaning. Fries arrived hot, needed salt. Cheesesteak followed immediately after. I wish the steak would have been chopped just a little bit, cheese was melted and plentiful and onions caramelized and cooked nicely. Bread fresh. It tasted fine, I guess I just prefer a finer chop on my meat. All three longhots on the steak where red and not really roasted and extremely spicy. So spicy I had to take off my half of the sandwich. Overall it was just an average meal. Nothing special. Would I return...probably. it's in an area we frequent. It's just not my preferred JL location. I do have to say the pizza you can buy by the slice looked fantastic. read more

Wow! You want REAL NY style pizza??? BAM... you's got it! Had a family gathering and needed 3 pizza. Ordered 1 veggie pizza/ 1 1/2 chick parm & 1/2 mushrooms And the last one 1/2 veggie and 1/2 plain. The kids and adults tore into them like famished Raptors. Lip smacking everywhere! GREETED with warmth and made to feel welcome! In fact as the young woman behind the counter noted my eyes straining to read the menu on the wall she directed me to the printed menu's that I had not noticed. That made a huge difference! * No there is not table service while ordering but they bring your food to you with a smile! 2. The restaurant is clean and has a fun feel to it!. It's no longer brand new so there are a few signs of wear around the place but walk in and you feel good. 3. A nice array of very appealing pizza's on display to choose from and a menu loaded with great options (I was not in a pizza mood but was tempted.). 4. OH THE FOOD ... a Greek salad packed with a jar full of Kalamata olives. Definitely a salad for two or in this case for two meals! Plus garlic knots along with a yummy marinara sauce to dip them in. And, my wrap had eye appeal, a noticeable aroma that screamed EAT ME, and each bite was so satisfying plus the fries were perfect in every single way fries can be perfect (Hot, crispy on the hot side and soft inside, and clearly fried in clean oil!) my only complaint was that there were so many fries I had to send some to oblivion in the waste basket. Placed an order online @ 6:30, with an estimate of 30 minute delivery. I assumed that it would be closer to 60 minutes, no problem. But when I called at 7:30 to confirm it was on the way, I was told "he should be there jn 10 minutes. He went out with 9 deliveries." Here it is an hour and a half later, and still no food. And this is not the first time I've experienced this with this location. Unless you're planning to pick up, this place is not worth it. read more

We spent $90 on a large Grandma pizza, cheesesteak, Italiano long hots & a Chicken Lorenzo pasta dinner that came with garlic bread & salad. The garlic bread was burnt, the long hots were inedible with mostly just melted cheese & the Grandma pizza had Fra Diablo spicy sauce on it instead of pizza sauce. Not to mention the pizza was as hard as a rock! Safe to say we will never spend our money there again & neither should you. It was absolutely terrible! read more

Decent little pizza shop in the strip mall with a few other places to eat. Inside was clean and has a nice ambiance. Service was average speed, no complaints. Stromboli was a bit black on the bottom. Some might consider it a little burnt but my luckily I like it that was as it prevents the bottom from getting soggy and keeps a little crisp to it. Old bay fries included the white cheese sauce most places skip but they still over coated some of the fries making the old bay over powering and salty. Overall I'd say the place is above average but not exceptional read more

A group of 6 was served before us and we still waited another 15 more to get our food?!,, My wrap was burnt and dry, so sad!? The tables needed to be cleaned,, I will make the trip to the Deptford NJ. location knowing I have never been disappointed by the service,the food or the cleanliness of the restaurant. I have been craving a good chicken cheesesteak hoagie, but wasn't sure where to get one in NJ. Being from Phila, my chicken cheesesteak hoagie standards are high (smile). I have been driven by Johnny Longhots a few times but on this day I decided to check the Yelp reviews, they were good. I decided to give it a try and I was not disappointed. I got my chicken cheesesteak hoagie with provolone cheese and a small order of fries; I was able to get 3 meals out of it. I would definitely go back here again the next time I have a craving. Teetering on 5 stars!!! I LOVE their fettuccine vodka w added shrimp! It's my go-to for sure, and the portion is huge! Both JL's locations gave me 7 large shrimp with this dish! $11 !!! The side salad it came with was very good (after I plucked out the olives). The garlic knots were outstanding! Big, doughy, and not too garlicky or burnt, like many places tend to do. The worst if the worst hoagies, I'm done with this place, no taste, no seasoning, not enough meat and cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, one thick cut onion and put together very sloppy. We've been ordering the traditional hand tossed 'jumbo' from this location every Friday night for the past 6 months. Early on, it was everything I hoped for in a perfect slice of pizza - I could describe in detail, but will just say it was the closest thing I've ever had to Lorenzo's on south street - and possibly better in certain aspects. About 2 months ago, the jumbo slices started shrinking, the sauce started drying up, the cheese started disappearing, and the heavenly doughy crust started getting overcooked. That said, the flavor is still on point, which means it's a quality control issue - the kind of thing that happens when you're either trying to cut costs or a change in the kitchen. I hope you have the insight to resolve because when it's done right your pizza is actually quite awesome. I only gave it 3 stars for this reason. read more

The food is pretty good, could definitely use some seasoning. The portion sizes are big and there's usually enough for left overs. Only thing I do not like is their fries. On a whim, we decided to try this restaurant. We were looking for a place that made Italian sandwiches and landed here. Walked into the location and was greated by a friendly hello from a cashier. We explained we hadn't been there before and she handed us menus. We looked over the menu (lots of choices) and made decisions on lunch - roast pork with provolone (Center City style), mozzarella sticks buffalo style, and a lunch portion of spaghetti with vodka sauce (with garlic bread). We were overwhelmed with the quantity of food for less than $30. We sat outside due to COVID-19, out of the sun and had a lovely meal together. We enjoyed our food SO much that we got a Grandma's Pie to-go. The pie was excellent! We recommend stopping by and supporting a local business while filling your stomach up with delicious food. The mega fries were fantastic. Loaded with bacon, ranch and multiple cheeses. The order was so large, it's definitely meant for two. The garlic parmesan wings had a lot of flavor and taste. They were of decent size too. The only problem is they were a little too crispy for my liking. Not saying they were bad though. Johnny's was a good experience. Very nice family and very cool spot, but just wasn't blown away by the place. Mozz sticks were your standard frozen sticks. Cheesesteak needed a little more seasoning and cheese. Had a slice of Brooklyn pizza, it's basically their version of Tomato Pie, but there are better in the area. The thing I liked was the variety of pizza they have available, just like a typical NY Pizza Shop. They have jars of peppers and pickles for you to take as you need. Also the menu is extensive, to the point it is a little overwhelming. I am a simple person and I would rather a place do 20 things amazing compared to 50 that are average. With all of that said, this place is going to do just fine and I will be back. Pizza is great.. just moved to the area and had to try it. I had the marlton location and it was good so I'm glad I gave it a shot. The wings were good but the buffalo needs more sauce and the garlic Parmesan were a little to plain and over cooked. My family and I decided to stop in while on a shopping journey. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. Even when it became busy all staff jumped in to settle the line. It was a little confusing walking in, I saw several people walk in and to the counter only to turn back around and walk around the seating to the register to order. Walk through the seating area! I've been enough to know this and still naturally walk straight in. My garden salad with chicken looked looked, tasted and smelled good. It was rather large. But honestly, I probably could have finished it if I was appropriately hungry for dinner. We ordered a cheesesteak which, when asked, was said to be "okay". Note: my husband orders a cheesesteak from here often enough, he wasn't disappointed. His expectations were met. Chicken nuggets and pizza for the kiddos, both were good. The fries felt frozen and had no or little salt. They have a kids menu for $4.99 which is pretty cool. The cheese pizza is good. From a previous experience the gourmet pizzas can be heavy, but worth it if you're feeling adventurous. I recommend as I keep coming back. Hmm.
