I don't know what's with the bad reviews by other yelpers, this place is easily 4.5 stars if not a full 5. We started by ordering a Bellini off the drinks menu and we thought it was really good with great value. I ordered Johnny's Pizza with gluten free dough and was very impressed with it. The crust was great and there were lots of tasty toppings. It was big enough that one person can hardly finish it alone. My partner got the Pappardelle Rustica Pasta which included chicken and shrimp, and opted for gluten free pasta. It was pretty flavourful but the sauce was too thin to eat with a fork. We also didn't feel like it was good enough or large enough to justify the $25 price tag. As someone with gluten allergies, I really appreciated all the gluten free options on the menu. However, my experience here was really weighed down by the poor service. Our waitress rarely checked on us, and I had to ask the hostess for the bill after not seeing the waitress for around ten minutes after we finished eating. I would probably give 3.5 stars if I had the option. read more

We stopped in randomly during a trip not knowing anything about the establishment. The curb appeal drew us in, the restoration of the mill was striking. We were greeted and seated very promptly despite being surprisingly busy on a Tuesday. The menu had the expected Italian offerings except this was the first time in memory that I've seen a "Build your own pasta". Absolutely brilliant. Our server was Luca and was excellent, mature beyond his years. food was good, I understand the people speaking to the noise level but I'm sure this is not easy to control in a structure like this, besides, have you ever been to a large Italian gathering for dinner? i would suggest the noise level added to the authenticity! This was a beautiful place! If I lived closer, I would most certainly go back again soon! The service was good, and the food was great! We were in town because of a hockey tournament in the area, and we were looking for pasta and Italian food. This place fit the bill. The one odd thing (I found) was parking; getting into the lot was not easy and straight forward, although it should have been easy, as the restaurant is in a hotel. First off, it's the ambiance of the inside of the building. It's very large! It does get loud in here, depending on the size of the crowd. It's an upscale venue; they have a bit of class, serving oil and balsamic with your bread instead of just butter. First review of the new year in 2019! :D I went to Johnny Rocco's for new years eve dinner and the experience was awesome. Totally worth writing kicking off my Yelp journey in 2019. My SO and I called ahead of time to reserve our table for 2 for the NYE dinner at 6:30pm and we were promptly seated when we arrived. Unfortunately, those who didn't call ahead had to wait for a while despite the mass size of the restaurant. But hey, it's NYE, every restaurant is busy! During NYE they had a couple's menu where prices were $45/55/65 per person, which included 2 appetizers, 1 main, and 1 dessert. But they also had the entire normal menu available as well, which was what we had opted for, since we didn't want to eat too much as we had plans later. Food: We got a plate of mussels ($15) to share as our appetizer. The mussels were fresh and meaty, and the spicy red sauce was definitely the standout of the dish. It was so good that we dipped the complimentary fresh baked bread in it as well. For main I got the 12oz 28-day Dry-aged Ribeye Steak ($31). It was such an amazing steak and the price was well worth it for dry-aged steak. Ribeye is defintiely my favourite cut and it did not disappoint. The steak was juicy, tender, and flavourful, and was plenty for me. I had to pack the potatoes and side vegetables home, because I wanted to enjoy the whole steak while it was fresh. My partner got the Chicken Milano ($23) and he said it was pretty good too. Similarly, the portions were great as he got 2 slices of chicken breasts along with loads of fresh pasta and vegetables. Service: Despite it being NYE which was arguably the busiest time of the year for the restaurant, our waitress was really attentive throughout our entire meal. She made sure we were well taken care of and checked up on us at least once throughout each course. Johnny Rocco's is definitely a great local gem that is worth it to give it a try. wishing i could give more stars because i can see the potential in this place. it was a slow wednesday night and we got seated immediately but had to wait over 30min until our server came. had to ask the host for drinks. love that the bread was fresh and complimentary, but wish the alfredo had any flavor or a pinch of salt. calamari was good but nothing to rave about. service overall was slow and the ambience seemed off. wish i had more better things to say because their menu looked great! at the end of the experience, we just wanted to get out of there because everything was taking so long read more

This is a fantastic restaurant. I've been twice. I found the atmosphere, food, and service to be exceptional. Today I had the chicken tetrazzini. It was exceptional. I need to eat gluten free, and they offered several options: pizza, pasta, steaks,chicken. The place was very nicely laid out, clean and the sound levels were good. The chef was able to make some substitutions for me regarding the pasta. I got veggies instead of pasta. They did it very well. Highly recommended. I will come back again. read more
