It has taken me SO LONG to come try this place - what have I been waiting for?! Great spot to gather your group to enjoy craft cocktails in a chill, vibe-y environment. Their bartenders certainly know what they are doing. Every drink I had was delicious and crafted with care. Parking - street or shared lot behind the bar.

Updated review: While the legendary $2 Espresso Martini no longer exists (it's half off all martinis on Mondays so an espresso Martini is $7, and $15 tenders now) this is still a fantastic late night spot to hang out and have a solidly shaken espresso Martini. Parking remains easy and the bar service is still quick. Still a huge fan.

The burger was juicy, cheesy, and paired perfectly with the crispy seasoned wedge fries. Cocktails were smooth, well-balanced, and great spot whether you're grabbing drinks or food. Chill atmosphere, friendly staff, and especially great happy hours cocktails!

Not sure how I haven't put a review for Johnny's before now but has to be one the most hidden gem bars in all of Houston. One of my go to spots for a quiet evening alone or a pre-date night drink or after dinner party! Johnnys has it all. Amazing menu, great happy hour (check out the weeknight specials). Great service, bartenders are quick and attentive and my favorite consistent. I've probably gotten 100 old fashions from Johnnys over the years and they almost always taste the same. If you love Christmas, don't forget to make a reservation to their amazing holiday hours where they deck out the entire bar in Christmas lights and decor it's a site to behold and a great time. There is a parking lot just down the street that's safe and as secure as it can be in Houston (multiple cameras and well lit). Plenty of outdoor seating, a rotating menu (check my pics for their fall 2025 menu) and food trucks. Overall Johnnys is not only for the locals and regulars but all folks in H Town!

This is my new favorite go to bar. I love the ambience and the staff is super friendly! My favorite drink is an espresso martini and it was truly made to perfection. Love it here.

Service was quick. It's Easter Sunday so it's a small crowd. Cute looking bar and they serve craft drinks. They have food and snacks. Great cocktail prices!

I waited till the last weekend of the year, but I finally got to cross Johnny's Gold Brick off my list of places to visit. I've had them bookmarked for awhile, but after recently seeing them on a TV show, my friends and I sped up the process to visit. We were also on a hunt to visit a few Christmas pop ups and Johnny's is known for theirs. Because of the popularity of their pop up, reservations were required. Located in the Heights, parking wasn't as challenging as I expected. It shares a lot with a couple of other businesses in the back and there is street parking as well. We were one of the first groups to arrive for the day and were seated right away. The bar itself is pretty small inside, but for this pop up, they had a tent erected out front, completely decked out just like inside. The holiday décor was quite impressive and very festive. Christmas had just passed, but it got me right back into the Christmas spirit. Customer service was excellent. Ollie was our guy and he took really good care of us and gave us great recommendations. Pop up aside, Johnny's is a local favorite that's been around for awhile. One of the things that they are known for is their 9.99 all day/everyday cocktail menu. It's listed on the wall and has 12 classic cocktails that will please most people in my opinion. The day we came, they were pushing their Miracle at Johnny's menu which had a bunch of holiday drinks and snacks. Nothing spoke to me so I went with a classic old fashioned which is one of my go to drinks. I judge places on if they can this old classic. I liked that even ordering off the regular menu, everything came out in festive glasses. My drink was good. The only thing I did not care for was that they used iced cubes. I followed that up with a Cuba Libre. It was my first time trying that drink and it too was tasty and quite refreshing. I heard good things about their burger so I ordered their holiday smash burger. It was a smash burger topped with green chilies. It was ok. My friend got their everyday smash burger and it was just ok to her as well. It was served with chips. I like my burgers with fries but considering it's coming off a truck, I can see why they go this route to avoid long wait times. Overall, a good time was had by all and the Christmas pop up was a big hit. I would totally come back here on a regular night as well!

I have been here many times and it's always a great experience. Bartenders are so good and have not had a bad cocktail here. It's my favorite espresso martini in the city. Check it out during Christmas for a Christmas pop up they do that always has the coolest decor and fun holiday cocktails.

Miracle at Johnny's always delivers! With seasonal curated cocktails, over the top and fun decorations, and sensational service you cannot miss going here. As always, make sure to plan ahead and get a reservation well in advance as it's extremely popular (for good reason)

I came for the miracle pop up during the holidays. I loved how decked out the bar was with trees, lights and festive decor. It really made you feel like you walked into a winter wonderland. I met a friend there and did not have a reservation. The bar top had a few open seats. Usually a bar is first come first serve but the hostess controlled the seating for the entire bar. It was a lot of back and forth conversation between the staff and we waited about 15 minutes to sit down in those empty seats. We just stood there watching them. It should be an easy task to sit people down in open seats. They have a full bar and the holiday menu drinks that are served in Christmas cups. I ordered the Yippee Kay Yay drink. It has a tropical twist. We talked for a while and started to get a little hungry. The snack menu is not as big as I thought. Last year I went to the other pop up at Winnie's and thought the menu there has better food options. I did not want pork, so the tamales and hot dog option was out. I settled for trying the cream cheese and pepper jelly. I thought it would have came mixed as a dip, but it came out as a block of cream cheese with some jelly on top. It was a tasty snack though. I ate when I reached home. Cool spot for a quick drink and catch up with some friends and feel festive.

''Twas the night of my expectations being proved wrong!!! I was expecting low quality themed cocktails with the price tag of $17 for each cocktail. Boy, I was sooooo wrong!! Each cocktail was its own unique EXPERIENCE!! The wait for the drinks was about 5-10 mins but that was because the presentation of the drinks was TOP NOTCH!! Do take note that there is a 90 minute TIME LIMIT at your table. They will really remind you 5-15 minutes that your table limit is approaching. (How do I know? Because we tested the time limit and our waitress came by like a ghost on the dot lol) THE DRINKS: 10/10 Marshmallows & Unicorns - Expect sweetness in every sip! The frothy texture reminded me of slowly sipping a cup of fluffy marshmallows... if you can sip liquid marshmallow. 10/10 Nice Shot - This comes in a CUTE miniature Santa mug!!!! It's rye whiskey and gingerbread. Afterward, I felt a tad bit of regret but mixed with happiness when the burning sensation of rye whiskey reminded me of what a fantastic day to be ALIVE. The gingerbread was a mix of "this tastes good" and then the whiskey was like "I regret my life choices" so in result it was a combination of "this is great, let's do it again" feelings. 8/10 Krampus - Pleasantly surprising with a hint of bitterness and a splash of burning ginger in a good way. THE DECOR: 10/10 Best Christmas-themed bar!!! It has a GIANT SANTA inflatable on the top! Hard to miss. Also floating present boxes and streaming green streamers from the ceiling so it was like levitating presents woohoo!!! PARKING: + Unlike most bars in the Heights, this actually has a FREE police monitored private lot in the back. Parking spots go by fast though. TABLE RESERVATIONS ONLY: - Pro tip: Hangout by the reservation area OR ELSE you will miss your name being called and then YOU WILL BE CANCELED/removed from the waitlist. - Our party waited by iPad and watched as the hostess literally called people's names 3x then swiped to remove their party from the waitlist. WHOA. So y'all have been warned!! - Also, they get your phone number but they don't call you so idk why they need your number? - 90 minutes time limit + The wait for a table went by fast around 9:00 pm (~10-15 mins). Overall, I will come back in the future!! Very excellent way to get into the holiYAY spirit with your date or with friends!!!

Ask the Community - Johnny's Gold Brick

Is there a food menu for the Christmas stuff?

    I don't believe so ,no.

This place kid-friendly before 8 PM?

I wouldn't think so. Worth a call to double check but feels very much like an adults only bar.

Do they card you at the door all hours or just after a certain time?

They don't card at door, but will card at the bar when you order your drinks.

    Any happy hour specials?

Yes! Really good HH cocktails & great prices.

What hours are food trucks parked here on the weekends?

How long has this new establishment been open? I love here on 10th & yale, I have not seen a sign but always looking for a new place.…
