I've been out here a handful of times now, and I have enjoyed it. They have a decent interior space, with tvs, pool tables, etc. They also have a sizeable outdoor seating area. I've had a few things there, but my usuals are pretty solid. The G&T and a LIT. Both are well balanced, and pack a punch. Service is pretty good, though I have never been during rush. Hopefully more than 1 person behind the bar when the crowd rolls in. Prices are standard to the heights experience. $12-$14/drink. Parking is good if you're off peak. It's the heights, so it's a small lot and fills up quick. During peak, do the Uber and save yourself some time and effort. This is a lively oasis with dive bar vibes located in the Heights I was impressed by the size and space both inside the bar and the back patio. I went on a Friday night and it was packed. While busy, you could still get up to the bar easily, and the drinks were made/orders filled quickly. The bartenders were friendly enough, but again it was packed and they had to juggle multiple orders and so many patrons There is a pool table inside, TVs inside and out showing sporting events, and plenty of seating. Parking is not great, small lot but usually room on the street. Thursday night wasn't very packed which was nice. Although you know you're in the heights and it's a not old etc, the interior could truly go for a traditional dive bar. Loved the decor. I really enjoyed my watermelon strawberry (?) mocktail here on a busy Thursday evening. While the parking situation is limited, as is expected for the area, there was ample street parking nearby. They don't call out mocktails specifically on the menu, but the bartender was gracious enough to suggest a delightful mocktail option when asked. I also appreciated that they charged under $10 for the mocktail, compared to other places that have the audacity to charge close to the same price for a cocktail and a mocktail. Overall, I would recommend this spot looking for a chill dive bar to hang out with friends in the area. read more

I visited EZ's Liquor Lounge for the first time (and second time) over Memorial Day Weekend when in town. At first, I thought the drinks were a bit over priced but I have to admit... they all tasted great. The place itself was really fun with pool tables, friendly patrons and nice staff. One of their servers, Ana, was so incredibly friendly and fun to chat with! Definitely try to order with her if you're there! While there, we tried the Frozen Margarita, the Slurricane and the EZ Mule... probably a few too many of each. All of them were delicious and left you wanting another! Came here just to let everyone know that I had one of the best margaritas ever here! A friend recommended I get a spicy strawberry margarita + tajin. They used fresh strawberries! I was impressed. The drink was amazing. Service was fast and the staff was friendly. They were pretty packed on a saturday afternoon but there was no problem getting the bartenders attention when we needed refills or our tab closed. They gained a new customer for sure! My husband and mom have both had their cars broken into next to EZ's and they have zero cameras anywhere around their bar and couldn't care less. Even when asking for help from a lady that works there she responds "oh it happens all the time"... Clearly not a place you want to be. Management is also awful and the service sucks. read more

I Came here to watch the Astros and get some food/drinks. They had baseball and college football playing and we ordered some beers and queso. The beers were ice cold and the atmosphere was lively. However, the reason for 4 stars is that queso was pretty small and left more to be desired. Next time I will probably try the hotdogs or chili. I went to this place to watch the commanders versus Philly game. I just found a seat and the waitress/bartender came over to me and gave me a menu which I really appreciated. I tried the vegan dog. I've been coming to the Heights for decades but for some reason didn't even know this place existed until one of my favorite bartenders started working here and I met up with friends here. Since they are a little east of the chaotic part of White Oak, there is plenty of street parking and they even have a little parking lot of their own. It looked like the parking lot was closed off earlier in the day for food or other events so that may not be the case all the time. The environment is laid back and the rest of the staff is also nice (not just our friend). The music however is just a tad too loud so it's hard to have a conversation without shouting. I get it, it's a bar but the music was almost night club level high. Definitely will be coming back here. read more

Just went there for the first time and absolutely love this place. It has all the charm of a dive bar, without the smell. The drinks prices are about par with other venues on White Oak, but everything was great. The staff was quick and friendly. Only negative was the location of the pool table is awkward since they often have to bump into you at the high top table that is attached to a pole and not going anywhere. We sat at that table that is how I know. Definitely making this one of my staple Houston bars. read more

Only the bartenders take orders, no one serving drinks. We are sitting at the bar and people are squeezing in and ordering over our heads to get a drink. Conversation was impossible if you sit at the bar. If you don't sit at the bar, you are the one standing back there ordering over everyone after you stand in line. I don't know why these types of bars do not have any servers taking drinks orders!! Hot dogs are about it on the menu. I'm never going back. Fun, but random, building in the heights. When we pulled up the Uber driver was thinking he was at the wrong spot. It looks like an old store that was converted but the outside remains the same. Once inside it's a roomy atmosphere with 2 bar areas. Drinks are strong and come out quickly. We moved to a table outside after a bit as the game was on so it was loud inside and was able to enjoy ourselves even more. I really like coffee drink that they have for the sweet cold foam that they put on top, the bartenders are all really informative and kind and helpful when you don't know what you want. Went for the first time last night for a friend's birthday. Sadly, one of the girl bartenders started behaving like a total ahole. Short, brown/reddish hair. Not to be confused with the bartender with the black hair. She was nice. Witnessed two things: 1. Buddy trying to close his tab walked away so upset because of his interaction with her. He didn't even mention details why he was closed. 2. Another buddy asked for a Modelo with Tajín and the bartender said "That's racist, I'm gonna walk away now" and gave him the rudest look. Funniest thing is, my friend is from Malaysia and I'm Mexican. How is ordering a modelo with Tajín racist? I'm not sure if she was drunk or on something but that's no bueno. Came here on a Sunday evening after dinner. It was pretty empty, and we sat at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and helpful. I asked a lot of questions and finally narrowed it down to the dulce de leche old fashioned (Very Old Barton Bonded Bourbon, Angostura, Dulce de Leche, Dark Sugar Syrup, Clarified Lemon Juice, Clarified Milk). It was a nice spin on the classic OF, and the dulce de leche added more depth than normal sugar would have. I def recommend it! The ambiance is super divey. I have been holding off on writing this review, until I spoke with a friend who went recently and had a similar experience. Also after reading some of the reviews it seems like other people also experienced the same issue. I went on Halloween with a friend (for context, this friend is white and I am not), we went up to the bar and the bartender took my friends order almost immediately and glazed over me and immediately moved onto the other customers. I had to ask another bartender for my order. Not sure if it was a racial thing, but as a poc in a space w/ predominately white people it's something that I have to question and makes me feel unwelcome. A new go-to neighborhood spot! EZs opened just a few days ago and I'm pumped to have it nearby. Although the vibe is very divey, the cocktails are more on the craft/upscale side which I love! Everything was affordable, and the service was fast despite being a brand new bar! We absolutely loved the strawberry watermelon margaritas! Queso was just ok, wouldn't order again. There are a few TVs for those hoping to catch some sports while here. Parking is a pain on White Oak, but can't blame the bar for that. We stopped by for a couple beers and queso during the Astros game. Parking was a bit hectic since it was a Saturday night, but we circled the block and were able to find a spot right out front. There's lots of seating and outdoor seating with tvs too. The decor was cool and ambiance was like a sports bar. Pool table in the middle of the room. The queso we got was really small considering the price and just okay. Also was surprised the Astros were only on 1 tv in the whole inside, but it was Saturday and people love college football I guess. I was ordering from the young lady I tried to order the mule and was told they were out, instead of taking the rest of my order she just moved on to next person and took there order, like wtf!? I had to wait there while she made a other people's drink like an idiot. Super rude. Also I ordered a pour of bourbon neat and she did a 1.5 oz pour instead of a typical 2 oz neat pour. I know TABC sucks but I'm 31 and to be screamed at for an ID the second you walk in at 2pm is a bit jarring. She was rude & snappy to my friends and I and, even worse, she seemed to be trying to escalate situations when I overheard her speaking to the group next to me, it was like she enjoyed ruining these people's night. EZ's gets a pass, I think and hope this is just one TERRIBLE employee I happened to encounter, so I will be back.
