I wish I could give zero stars. Not sure how this place has a single good review. They are beyond disrespectful and unbelievably slow. They held our car for 6 months before finally looking at it. They seemed so put out anytime we called for updates and screamed at us upon pickup of the car that they never actually fixed. Do not waste your time with this place. read more

Daughter's very old Lexus died while a student at Kansas back in February. Car had been holding on by a thread. Nice police officer tried putting in oil and it ran onto his shoe. Have been a loyal customer for some time now,refered friends and people I met that had car trouble and have always had good results until today when I had the same trouble with my vehicle that I had taken in to have fixed and tried to explain it and the owners son got so heated that he slammed his hands on counter doubled up his fists and started yelling at me to quit saying it was the same sound, totally surprising me and really alarmed me as it was threatening...owner came out asked same question, set up appointment to have looked at and was leaving, owner then came out and said he would not work on vehicle due to me wanting to fight his son...I will never respect nor send ANY business that way again and will totally discourage ANY work due to from unprofessional attitude and standing behind their work...very disappointed read more

Jon's had worked on my work truck transmission twice this year. he's had the truck at the shop for a total of 6 months or more. transmission was not fixed the first time we received it back, and after receiving it back the second time last week, I'm now sitting on the highway with a blown transmission after he says he replaced it. I have lived in Western Shawnee quite a while and I try to do as much automotive repair I can on my own. The other day the compressor went out on my wife's car. Typically a quick YouTube video and some parts off Amazon will do the trick; however, this repair required... well... a real mechanic. Enter John's Auto Repair. They were able to complete the job that would have taken me all day for a very reasonable price. Full disclosure it would have probably cost me more in time, tools, and parts to do this myself. I took my car in for an issue with the A/C. He was easy to talk to for scheduling of the appointment and dropping off my car. He had to drain my coolant and refill it and charged very little for it. He also had it finished the same day and didn't treat me like a dumb woman like some shops do. I highly recommend this shop and will be going back if I need any other work done. read more

John was absolutely amazing! My car overheated on K-10 and, not knowing anything about cars, I was panicking. I happened to pull over to a gas station and was advised to go to John's Auto Repair. John was as nice as I could hope for. He immediately helped me when I pulled in, though I didn't have an appointment, and was very quick. I ended up needing a cap replaced and he gave me a replacement one for free. When he finished he didn't charge me anything, saying it was a simple fix. I brought my van in for an oil change and lube. I waited an entire day and a half for it to be accomplished. Then I was charged nearly 100 dollars for it. The staff there were rude and dismissive. Typical small town attitude. If they had to compete in a large city they'd never make it. read more

I sincerely hope that John Lobner is nicer to his regular customers than he is to a relative. My husband is a cousin of his and opted to take his car there instead of to our usual mechanic because he is family, however John was rude to my husband numerous times and both times we used him the car was not fixed properly and he charged us to fix what should have already been fixed. This last time we got the car back and there was other things wrong that were not wrong when we took it in. John refused to back up his work and was very rude. I cannot imagine that he treats all his customers this way or he would not be in business, but if that is the way he treats a relation then that says something about his morals! We have received estimates on a few different services and John's has always been the cheapest, one time by several hundred.
