Johns Burgers is a mystery to the world. Not only do they have a backwards drive through. They managed to ensure customers wait 30 mins before their "fast" food is ready. Iv experienced it all, drive through, walk-up, and call in. All have been terrible wait times. I doesn't matter if the place is empty or packed. Plan on spending a good 30-45 mins here if you want your food. This place is the size of a small shed, yet they some how seem to pack in 15-20 employees on any given day. 3 people literally just take orders and 3 guys are on the grills. Maybe too many cooks on the kitchen is a true statement. Great food once you get it. Terrible wait time. You are better off going down the road for a corporate chain cheeseburger. read more

Notably good service experience, great food and a lot of it for a very good price. Their staff is very professional, quick, and timely in their service. Have used them many times and have never been disappointed in quality of food, size of the servings, quality of service and ordering, or in how much I was charged. They have some specialty burgers which just can't be matched. The blue cheese burger is to die for, but only if you like blue cheese, The Ortega burger is pretty awesome as well. This is my favorite burger joint in town! Driving by John's burger every day on the way to work, I observed a flood of people coming and going during breakfast and lunch. Today, I decided to stop and satisfy my curiosity. It is a traditional burger joint where you order at the window and take a seat. My boyfriend and I ordered the John special, which is a 1/4 cheeseburger, fries, and drink. Our order was ready within 5 minutes. The fries were generous portions and fresh out of the fryer. The cheeseburgers were large and stuffed with freshly sliced vegetables and the patty was cooked to perfection. Overall, the portions were generous and very filling. This is a reasonably priced burger joint as both of us were able to eat for less than $15. The entire menu is reasonably priced, especially breakfast where the average was below $5. The building is old and basic but clean-floors, tables, and counters. We did not check the restroom. There is plenty of parking outside as well. read more

I use to LOVE John's Burgers. Most of the time. HOWEVER, lately the hamburgers are dry, too well done, minimal dressing, mixed up instructions (possibly due to the bad drive thru speaker.) I'd say about 95% of the time this is the best spot for comfort food. Once in a while you'll get food that isn't seasoned properly, and you'll think "wtf? it was bomb yesterday tho!" lol. Their avocado burgers, chili fries and their fried zucchinis/mushrooms are just to die for.The only reasons that I didn't give them a five stars is, because their drive thru is awkward, first the entrance is the opposite side, also their speaker ain't the best quality. I've been coming to John's Burgers since 1995 and I love the food here as much now as I did then. You get large portions for great prices and the food tastes amazing. Be forewarned that both the large fries and large shakes are HUGE! This place is so awesome that every time my boyfriend visits from out of state, he has to come here. In all the years I've been going here, I've never had a bad meal from John's and so I am quite puzzled by the negative reviews. Sure, the drive thru is kinda weird and it can take a while to get your freshly made food (sorry, you'll have to get your heat lamp food somewhere else), but we feel both are worth putting up with for the awesome food here. Personally, I find the box-on-a-stick solution to the pick up window being on the passenger side of the car highly amusing. If Bakersfield doesn't think John's Burgers is a fantastic fast food place, I'm positive the residents of Las Vegas would welcome them with open arms (and open mouths). read more

With a huge variety of different kinds of foods, all made with that signature TLC, it's no wonder why the drive-thru line at this particular location is always backed up.
