The penne

When I first walked in my nostrils were blessed and the atmosphere was beautiful we were also seated very quickly and our server was very nice. And our drinks were delivered very fast as well as The bread. The bread was amazing and delivered very fast it was seriously some of the best bread I've had. I ordered the penne and cheese pizza the pizza was shared amongst our family I cannot eat two pizza pies by myself. The pizza is absolutely impeccable and the pasta was not as good but still great.

We loved this restaurant, it had great food and quick service! Our server was quick and very helpful!

Delicious Asian Wings!!!

We were here yet again for the Asian wings!!! We also go mozzarella sticks, the fried shrimp & a pepperoni roll!! The food is always fresh & hot! The staff is friendly. The place is like an old Italian restaurant. We will be back!!!

So confused about how the spicy Asian wings won awards. They smelled really good but the sauce wasn't good and the chicken was flavorless. Yea so confused about it.

Went to this restaurant last night for dinner. Yes, the restaurant is outdated, but I have been coming to this area for my whole life, so for newbies it may seem outdated but for life timers it makes it feel like home. For appetizer we tried the spicy Asian wings, which were out of this world! No wonder they have won several awards. Two entrees, spaghetti carbonara and stuffed shells. Both were very flavorful and not to mention, the portions are HUGE! Literally one pound of pasta for dinner! Our child had the kids spaghetti and meatball, and she loved it!! For all of this food the total was $49.61! Not even 50$ for 3 entrees and an appetizer with two drinks!!! You can not get that back in NY! Also the service is amazing! Please remember if you come from Ny or NJ, this is PA. Life is chill and relax here not hustle. Enjoy the service and peacefulness.

Interesting soup choices for an Italian restaurant (yes, I know what Stracciatella is but egg drop is widely synonymous with Asian cuisine).

Great food with large servings. Service is top notch too. This is a casual restaurant that won't break the bank.

80's style Italian american restaurant. Over priced and food is BASIC. Needs seasoning at the very least. Don't waste your money.

That said, Palermo's is a Pizza+ place strategically located outside a managed (vacation) community. From the top, the parking lot is a danger to get in and out as well as just navigating the trucks parked in front in unmarked spaces better suited for compact cars. You walk in the front door, facing the restrooms with dining room to the right and the bar / dining room to the left. We were not so much greeted as stared-at, like we were supposed to tell them what to do. We witnessed the same lack of kind control at the entrance by 3 other employees, as there seemed to be no one in particular who was meant to control front of house. We were early for dinner on a week day, about 4:30 pm, so the place was empty but for 3 men at the bar and a pait on the patio. Still it took a while to get menus. Then longer to get drinks. We just wanted to get a fresh pizza, which should have been a slam-dunk for a business that thrives on delivery into a gated community. We ordered the 'granma pizza' and an order of calamai. Again, it took 20 minutes to get the calamari, which was dreid out, possible from a heat lamp. The batter was light and crispy, but they had no flavor at all. Just a little salt/pepper would have given it flavor. We had asked for extra sause with them, that was forgotten. The 'granma pizza' which is simply square flat crust with sause and cheese took another 20 minutes. Maybe they got stuck peeling the plastic wraps off the cheese-like slices? At least that's what it looked like. The service was barely a notch above 'get it yourself!'. Which made the final cut such an insult. I've seen plenty of places list suggested tip calculations on the bottom of the check. Usually it's just a note in fine print showing you the math for 15, 18 & 20% - and hoping you add one of those or more, which since COVID, we always do. This roadside nightmare had the stones to print 4 check-boxes for you to choose - 20, 22, 25 and 30% !!! I did tip over 20% because we do, but that will be the last. I stopped short of a 1-star review, because, although Palermo's was a complete disappointment, that's all it was; disappointing on every level.

Despite not having a reservation, we were able to be seated. But I do suggest planning ahead and reserving a table. Especially if you visit during high season. Anyhow, the service was excellent. Our server, Sam was extremely attentive. She explained the menu to you and shared some recommendations. We started out with a Caesar salad to share and knew right then that the servings would be ample! The kitchen was kind enough to split the salad for us between two plates and I'd have thought just half was shareable. But lucky us, plenty to indulge. We absolutely LOVED the dressing but found it a slight tad heavy handed. If we make it back, we'd definitely ask for dressing on the side. But nonetheless we appreciated the authentic Caesar dressing complete with anchovy paste. For entrees we had the penne vodka with sausage and shrimp 360. Both plates were big enough to feed an army and made for nice left overs. But make no mistake, both were delicious! Hit it out of the park, delicious! And beautiful al denté pasta. This meal really hit the spot. Even though we were completely stuffed, we managed to find room for homemade pumpkin cheesecake! I don't say this lightly, but it was hands down the best slice of cheesecake I've ever had. We couldn't stop raving about out it! This is a great restaurant to visit when visiting the Poconos. The setting was elegant in an understated way while being incredibly cozy! I think it would be great for larger groups but also intimate enough for couples.

We met the owner, Stefano, and despite the restaurant being at its busiest peak, he couldn't have been more welcoming, kind, and attentive. Speaking Italian with him instantly brought us back to Italy. He embodies the warmth and hospitality we miss so much. The food was authentic, fresh, and clearly made with great attention to detail. We tried a little bit of everything on the menu, and every dish was outstanding. Honestly, it's hard to choose a favorite because everything was so good. Even our kids said they felt like they were back in Italy. They especially loved the pizza. If you're looking for real Italian food, outstanding service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere, Piciocchi's is a must. We can't wait to come back!

Ok I'm in, I'm Italian, homemade pasta is right up my alley. We sat down, friendly staff (young and distant), but an extremely strange setting. It was like walking into a Wayfair showroom with a pasta kitchen. The branding was a bit horrid in my opinion, but I work in that industry, so I couldn't get over the esthetic before I even got to the food. The TV "paintings" with random art were the "highlight" truly... I'm being too kind. The wedding table numbers, really were killing me in the worst way. This place was like a mishmash of identities with no real clarity of execution or strategy on how to accomplish what they're trying to be. A crash landing of ideas with no real destination. Now the food and drink! The plates were the size of a small luggage! For starters, the "fresh" bread they offered with a rancid tasting olive oil and the tiniest drop of balsamic vinegar was appalling. The calamari was decent at best... it tasted factory made, the coating was thick and it came with the tiniest portions of sauce. I want my calamari, piping hot, with a really thin coating and a ton of sauce, that's just me. The chicken cutlet was a flavorless flour-dredged slab of meat. Barely pounded out and coated in a thin breading, with no seasoning, and it was crazy big! The Gnocchi four cheese was like eating dough turds in glue. The texture was not good at all, and reminded me of undercooked packaged pasta, and weirdly overcooked all the same time... like the water wasn't boiling and they added the pasta in while it was cold. Gnocchi should be pillowy soft and should literally fall apart in the mouth and the cheese sauce should not be like hair gel stuck to the food. It's Italian food, it's supposed to be herbaceous and well seasoned, this was food for non-Italians, who think they could like Italian food if it was just a little more bland and assimilated... without all the immigrant culture, ya know?! The best portion of the dish was the non-alcoholic drink, which is saying a lot. I genuinely hate to leave a terrible impression, but I really hated this meal, and I'm shocked by the reviews. It would seem a lot of people are here for the big portions and cheap food. Not a quality food experience. Everyone's got their own taste!
