For years I've driven by this place on Firestone, which merges into Manchester Boulevard, and I always loved the logo. I'd think, "There's a spot in my own neighborhood I can eat at without driving to Downey or Downtown LA." But for some reason it was never my first thought. I think it's because when I'm going out to eat, I usually want to escape my own area. Today I finally gave it a try, and I was sincerely impressed. I walked in and was greeted right away. I asked a few questions about the menu and requested a substitute, and I didn't get any weird looks or pushback, which honestly happens more often than you'd think in 2026. The walls had beautiful artwork, and my server, Kevin, was fantastic. He checked in every few minutes to make sure I had everything I needed, and it felt genuine, not like he was just going through the motions for a tip or a paycheck. You can tell the difference. I ordered the horchata French toast with fresh fruit and a lavender latte, and the presentation was next level, the kind of plating you'd expect in Beverly Hills, Century City, or parts of Polanco, Mexico. It was beautiful, the food was excellent, and I was taken care of every step of the way. I'm writing this review because this place deserves to be seen and deserves to keep growing. I'm not compensated in any way, shape, or form, this comes straight from the heart. If you've been sleeping on this place, give it a try. This review is by no means meant to bring down the restaurant. I genuinely hope it can be taken as constructive feedback and help them improve, because I really wanted to love this place. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and the staff was very sweet and welcoming, but the food was severely lacking in flavor. My sister ordered the avocado toast with a salad, and unfortunately, the toast was extremely stale and hard. Her salad had no flavors. My husband and I ordered an omelette, but it had very little flavor as well. The Cholula was honestly what gave it some taste. My sister's boyfriend ordered the chilaquiles and said the cheese on them tasted strange. What made the experience even more disappointing was the bill. We were really surprised by how expensive the meal was considering the quality and flavor of the food we received. On top of everything, it was extremely hot inside the restaurant. One side of the restaurant had also been closed off while they were doing some deeper scrubbing and cleaning, and the smell of cleaning products was very noticeable throughout the restaurant. I completely understand the importance of keeping the restaurant clean, but I wish this type of deep cleaning could have been done during non-business hours, as it made the overall dining experience even less enjoyable. I truly wanted this place to be amazing, but unfortunately, it just didn't meet our expectations. I hope they take this feedback into consideration and make some improvements. He did not let us know that adding carne asada to the chilaquiles was 6 bucks extra after asking us what kind of meat we wanted on it. We also ordered side salsa and they were 3 bucks each which is ridiculous! The ambience of the place was good. After serving us our check with an 18% tip added to it already he asked if we wanted to add a tip in addition to the 18% on it already! We were a group of 7 so the tip was already pretty big. That's not something you ask your customers when you go to a restaurant! Overall, not sure we would go again. My husband found this place & we drove out to try it early morning in April. The place is bright and colorful. Parking was easy as it was still early. Servings were large, maybe too much food as some things aren't as great reheated. My daughter ordered fun pancakes but didn't like them. The food was ok, I was expecting Mozzarella or Monterey Jack cheese on it, but it only had Cotija cheese. It tasted like it was missing something. The red ones were much better. A friend raved about this place and we had it in our "must try" list so what can I say about it now that we have tried it? Well my best way to explain it is if you're a foodie and love to check out different places, this is probably a great spot, but if you're someone who is looking for convenience and just wants to eat, this is probably not the place. I actually loved the food ALOT! My husband and I ordered a "Parillada de chilaquiles" and it was a ton of food for $45 (it fed both of us). The green sauce was perfect (not crazy spicy but a good amount of spice) and the cotija cheese over everything was yummy. The latte flight was also the perfect sweet treat. Our waitress was also attentive and great. The walls had really cool picture spots and the music was fun. My only complaint was the restroom didn't have a changing table. We wanted to try out a new breakfast place close to us. Wait time was 45 minutes just beforw 10am. We were able to check in and put our number down to be messaged once table is ready. Unfortunately there are no seats for waiting. Parking is horrible here so we parked a block and a half away. The food was good. Cafe de olla very delicious with free refills. Of course with the name and theme of the restaurant mostly everything has eggs in it but there is a good variety of dishes to pick from. My wife's food came out first by at least 15 minutes before mine which was not great and attentiveness was lacking by the staff. We were sat at a tall table which unfortunately was wobbly. The food is really good. We got the green chilaquiles with carne asada and carne asada breakfast nachos. Food was great, chill vibe and nice little hidden gem. BUT the service is terrible! And I don't blame the hostess/waitresses. Poor girls are running around hosting, bussing tables and things orders. We came on a Friday at 11:30am. We didn't get seated until after 12pm. We waited about 45 minutes when we were told it was a 30 minute wait. When we walked in there several tables but needed to be bussed. I'm pretty disappointed because I really wanted to like this place. My first experience here, I called in for a takeout order. I ordered a breakfast burrito with Machaca and paid $25. It was a 30 minute wait, which is fine. I love breakfast burritos, but this is the worst breakfast burrito I've ever had. I know the Machaca is a special request but they do serve it on the menu. However, this Machaca, I've never had Machaca like this before. Looked nothing like Machaca and tasted nothing like Machaca. Tiny little bits of meat cut into squares? You can see this in the pictures. Like what is that? Not Machaca for sure. Those little pieces of meat tasted really dry and bland. I just don't even understand this. The breakfast burrito is originally $17, which means I had to pay at least an additional $5-6 for whatever that was. Ridiculous. There is also overall discrepancies in their advertising. Online pictures, show the burrito with beans, this burrito had no beans. I also asked the employee while I was making the order," the burrito comes with beans right ?" and they agreed. Overall It had no flavor, tasted like burnt egg, no salt, and greasy potatoes. The burrito was dripping grease. They also forgot to provide a salsa. Who can eat a burrito without salsa? Good thing I had a Cholula packet on me. I'm currently pregnant, was super hungry and I was not about to let $25 go to waste . I had found all this out after the fact, drove away and was halfway across town. Extremely disappointed as I had wanted to try this place out for a while now. It's sad to get a breakfast burrito so wrong. I did have to share the French toast because I was full from the chilaquiles. The presentation on both plates is amazing I love plates that have a beautiful presentation and that taste good. The cafe de olla is good but it was extremely sweet for me. Their regular coffee was perfect! Service is ok not very attentive but the ladies were respectful. I went with my sister and nephew. First the parking is small, it didn't seem like there was many people in the restaurant compared to the number of cars outside. Two, when we got there I noticed there was two waitresses. We got seated, took about 10 minutes for us to get our drink orders. Again, there was only two waitresses. This is where I got annoyed of the professionalism. First it was the fruit that was supposed to be in my drink but I'm not one to get bothered by something that small. But waiting 20-30 minutes for our food and another 5-10 minutes just to be told they're out of that item. Shouldn't they're supposed to let us know once they place the order or at least know what items are still available. It was 11am, there was not many people inside so maybe I'm just exaggerating but I doubt they ran out! Again there was only 1 waitress and she seemed busy. The place is better aesthetically than the food and it's not as aesthetically pleasing as other places I've been. My chilaquiles were bland 2.5/5. Overall, 3/5 and I'm being understanding because they were short staffed.
