We had an appointment today for our sick puppy. Who's been sick now about 15 days. We were greeted by Trinity the doctors, assistant, amazing and caring, compassionate. Then the doctor came in they worked with dodger took her temperature. Did some other test. Dr. Murray was so thorough so caring and compassionate as well. She gave us some options. They did a panel which we should get back in a few days she most likely has pneumonia. She's now on meds everything about Desert Hills was above and beyond the care from everyone the cleanliness the friendliness we are so happy we have found them and we are so thankful that we now have a new veterinarian. We highly recommend them thank you so much. We feel so much better because of you.

This morning I stopped by Monte Vista Hospital to pick up the medications Dr Johnson suggested for…read moremy dog but I didn't collect my dog feces because he didn't have diarrhea in the last 3 days, but just a little mucus. I was trying to explain Morgen, the nurse, that I want to start with the medications to see if the mucus will stop too. Morgen said that I couldn't have the medication without bringing the fecal test. Now, if the fecal test required 5 days to be back, and Dr Johnson asked me to pick up the medications today, why I couldn't take them without the fecal test? I tried to explain to Morgen that all this doesn't make sense, but she said she felt not appreciated. Honestly, I felt like she thinks I'm an idiot to take advantage of likely because of my foreign accent. I'm leaving the clinic because Morgen and Leslie kicked me out for making my point. We absolutely loved Kreature when we first started bringing our animals in. We had our guinea pigs, cats, and both dogs seen there. Our main vet was Dr. Emily and we absolutely loved her and some of the girls that were there during that time. One of our dogs is reactive and scared of other people/dogs. He went through a rough illness that had us bringing him into the vet pretty frequent for about a month or so. Once he was better, we noticed he started experiencing a pretty intense fear when we took him into KK. Each appointment would get worse. We were seen on a monthly (4 week) basis for nails and glands. He would start shaking and screaming when we would pull into the parking lot. Shortly after Dr. Emily and some of the staff left KK. This is when I noticed the treatment of our boy got worse. I watched one girl hard yank and yell at him when she thought she was far enough away from me. My husband and I started questioning the treatment he was receiving at that time. Once he was in the back away from us, he would start screaming. One of the front office staff told my husband that "they do that when they get their anal glands done". I started openly questioning the treatment of our boy and one of the techs came from the back to tell me that he needed training. I was quick to mention that we have worked with PJ's based off their recommendation. She then had the audacity to tell me he needed heavy hand implying abusive tactics like shock collars or choke chains. My husband and I sat down and realized how much harm we were putting our dogs through by continuing our visits to KK. We've since found an amazing vet who has worked with us to put him on trazodone and treats him with kindness. We also found out that Kreature Komforts had us bringing our dogs in too often for glands and having them cleared so often was causing pain and inflammation. We now have them seen every 8 weeks. The reason why I post this so long after we left this vet is because we have to drive to their area for a new job. Our dog remembers where their office is and he now shakes every time we have to leave the house because he fears we're taking him back. This is extremely heartbreaking for us and we're trying our best to work through it. Please keep this in mind if you decide to bring a reactive animal to this office. I don't believe they have the right people or tools to handle animals like ours. I also believe that they took on too many patients and their level of service declined after Dr. Emily left. I hope things have changed, but we're still dealing with trauma.

When your baby is sick the worse thing you can do to them is stick them in a cage in a strange place. Yes there are urgent care places but just not the same. Seeing Dr. Fisher is not my regular vet, I believe she went beyond the routine and definitely cared about the best treatment for my dog. They had an emergency. I gave them the case number from Animal Poison Control and the direct # to call. They said they would call and get back to me. They didn't. Obviously didn't seem a priority that my dog was poisoned. Thur: Day two I called again. They had another emergency. Plus they had too many 'squeeze ins' to see my dog, I had to wait at least a week to get seen. Apparently a poisoned dog doesn't qualify for a 'squeeze in'. I asked the woman what Animal Poison control recommended. She said, "I was on hold too long and had to hang up" So, as a test, I called Animal Poison Control myself immediately after hanging up with her. I waited on hold for 6 minutes. Obviously a poisoned dog doesn't warrant waiting on hold for 6 minutes. The person from Animal Poison Control said (and I'm quoting verbatim here), "Go somewhere else, immediately". So I did. Obviously never going back. I moved to Washoe about a year ago and they treated a cut on my dog adequately. That was my only other experience with them.

They said he did fine coming out of the anesthesia. My husband got home and the dog was panting. We chalked it up to the dog may have had some anesthesia in his system. He was this way all night. We took him back on Friday and he was in the same condition with a temperature of 106. Our Newfie was there for a few hours and then sent home on Friday. On Saturday we had to rush him to the emergency vet and he had to be put down because he was much worse. THE DOG NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN RELEASED TO US WITH HOW BAD HIS BREATHING WAS. HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN REFERRED TO AN OVERNIGHT VET HOSPITAL ON THURSDAY! When he was taken in, based on the notes, he was given oxygen and was breathing more normally. This did not last. After consulting others, we are being told that something definitely went wrong with the anesthesia. We should have been told that our dog needed to be admitted overnight to an emergency vet for over night monitoring instead of being released to us. IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED, OUR DOG MIGHT STILL BE WITH US!
