We came here to pick up some of their cinnamon rolls. We entered and the c. rolls are a bit to your left, between the restaurant and the general store, which has a very gas station convenient store feel. I didn't know there was a restaurant until I tried to pay for the cinnamon rolls and there were lots of people just standing around. What we purchased: *CINNAMON ROLL *CINNAMON ROLL w RASPBERRY ICING These had layers of cinnamon and thick layer of icing on top. I was really excited for these but they were really dry. Stopped in for some dinosaur fuel and a cinnamon roll. I feel kind of bad for Johnson's Corner with it being so close up the road from Buc-ee's. The restaurant side was pretty empty, but they had shelves of rolls ranging from original to orange to cherry. Just $4 for a whole roll. I stopped in here to pick up some of their cinnamon rolls after visiting Buc-EE's. Night and day. I have been here several times, and each time is the same. Blah! They really need to do something with this place. Re merchandise to look nice or something! C'mon you guys! The layout is unorganized and makes no sense. They just put stuff everywhere. It is a truck stop with all the usual amenities but didn't seem very clean. I used the restroom, and it was pretty bad. If I were a trucker I would probably go to Love's. I would of liked to tried the restaurant, but they do not put prices on the website so I took a few pictures of the menu so you could see. Pretty reasonable. Came for the cinnamon rolls(of course) wanted one to eat in the car that was heated. The best they could do was let us use the microwave. The problem is they stuff these huge rolls in a form fitting plastic container. When you microwave it in there, all the frosting sticks to the top and, let's face it, a cinnamon roll depends on that frosting. Just seems like this could be done better. read more

This place apparently used to be a family owned restaurant that many truckers frequented for a decent meal at a reasonable price. Ownership has changed to the TA brand truck stop but the name has been retained. Needless to say it's no frills but oddly there were very few patrons, truckers or otherwise. Should have a heads up for us. We were seated after a few minutes of standing at the hostess desk. Nobody else waiting. Plastic laminated menu provided when seated. Took a bit for a very mature waitress to come to our table for a drink order. Coffee and iced tea. It was at least another 15 minutes before she came back to take our order and numerous items were unavailable because someone in the kitchen didn't show up that day - no soup or meatloaf which were apparently menu favorites in the past. Omelette, chicken fried steak and a chicken club sandwich were our orders. Took more than 20 minutes for the food. Omelette with green beans, a chunk of breaded chicken about the size of my palm and some broccoli, and a blt on a hamburger bun with a chicken patty and fries. Had to practically beg for drink refills. Mediocre food is being generous. All served on big plates which accentuate the scarcity of the food quantity. Not too sausagy but much prefer regular cream gravy. Seems to be a regional thing as some places (like this one) don't even have regular cream gravy. Steak was pretty good, but frozen item. Not tough and breading was nicely even and not crunchy. Hot Beef Sandwich (7) $12.49 Decent sized portion with real pot roast. Two slices bread under meat and potatoes. Potatoes were good but probably instant as very smooth. Brown gravy was almost too salty but not still good. Portions were large enough that I (female) couldn't finish. Would suggest they add a small side vegetable for variety. Restroom was clean and in good condition. As a disabled woman, I appreciated the counter that wasn't too deep to reach the soap dispenser and the paper towel dispensers that were not blocked by the trash can. It took a while to get seated. They were understaffed. Our server, was very polite and she did keep coming back to refill our drinks and let us know they only had one cook. My bacon was perfect, eggs were cooked as ordered and the french toast was really good. My husband didn't seem to have complaints about his chicken fried chicken. Now the bad part. We got pastries to go. I got an apple fritter type thing. It was stale. We also got 2 cinnamon rolls. The icing was hard and stuck to the container. If you heat it up per the directions, the icing softens, but the cinnamon roll gets rock hard quickly. We decided to try the 2nd cinnamon roll not heated up. It was stale. We went here intentionally to get these "famous" cinnamon rolls. Definitely not worth it. The local grocery store has better. read more

Stopped in for breakfast with friends while visiting from out of town. This is a large truck stop diner attached to a gas station with plenty of spacious seating and friendly service. Two of us ordered the Cinnamon French toast and another ordered the poached egg plate. Everything was tasty, the eggs cooked to perfection and the hash browns were delicious. The only thing that would have made it even better is the temperature of the food as it was all lukewarm. But overall the food and service were good and it is reasonably priced, I would recommend. read more

I will agree with most of the other Yelper's and rate this location as a 3 star. It's actually a really nice gas station with an attached restaurant. Had the breakfast burrito and a mixed plate with biscuits and gravy. The biscuits tasted like it was the same dough that they use on their cinnamon roles with a vanilla taste which threw the dish off of what you would expect from a savory dish. Came in on the advice of the book "Road Food." As promised, this is a trucker's paradise, with ample parking and gigantic booths. The food is mostly a miss. The signature item is a massive cinnamon roll, but it was nearly devoid of flavor (the slim amount of caked-on sugar glaze didn't make up for this). The other things we tried were items I would never get here again, save for the chicken-fried steak, which was manageable. After hearing about this place for years we finally had a chance to eat here and I was left highly disappointed. I had the biscuits and gravy and it was barely ok. The hash browns were on their way to cold the gravy was just ok. The eggs were ok. The only highlight was the biscuits were fluffy and tasted good. My son had the Cinnamon roll French toast which was decent but my other son's breakfast burrito was just ok. The waitress was nice and responsive and was on top of it for the most part. A memory for my other half and just a fun stop and shop for me. Lots of gifts and collectibles. But what they are known for is their cinnamon buns. Caffeine they do have... decaf coffee they don't. After visiting Fort Collins for dinner we stopped here for a hot drink to wait out a traffic accident up ahead. What a treat! The first thing my eyes spy are HUGE donuts and fritters! Wow The menu has lots of interesting choices and my other half found many selections that he wants to try. Our server was a sweetheart and to filled us in on the steak my guy was dreaming of. But we just decided on hot coffee and tea and a cinnamon roll. Be warned, that cinnamon roll fits a salad plate and the icing is placed on the roll as its served to you. My goodness it was delicious and messy but who cares. LOL. No, we couldn't finish it . This used to be a decent place and it had nice home style food. Unfortunately,the family sold to Petro. who has destroyed it. I could not even get a bite of mashed potatoes or whatever they are down! Driving up to Fort Collins from Longmont you cannot help but catch the signs for Johnson's Corner. The oversized iced cinnamon rolls beckon and are just asking for you to stop in to Johnson's corner. Having purchased their cinnamon rolls before (from a gas station in Longmont) we just had to stop and check out the establishment that makes them. The place was absolutely enormous! The parking lot was so jam packed it was hard to find a spot. Entering the establishment on the restaurant side we added our names to the waitlist (30 minutes long). We took our time to peruse the other half of the building which included a gas station so large it contained a full gift shop worth of goodies. Really, I think you could literally find something for everyone on your holiday list here. There are funny tea towels that say things such as (cat hair is an condiment as well as an accessory), candles, you name it they probably have it. There's also an area with several types of warm taquitos and hot dogs and brats. Not to mention a Jolly Rancher slush machine, cappuccino machine, and soda station. A road trip haven if you ask me. There are rows and rows and rows of snacks. Including some I hadn't even seen before. The standouts were Taco Bell chips, cheese curds from Wisconsin, and Hostess Limited Edition dark chocolate raspberry donettes and cupcakes. And did I mention? There are multiple sets of bathroom as well as a truck driver rest lounge! By the time we circled back in at the hostess stand they were ready to seat us. The menu was large but straightforward. The daily specials looked great. Unfortunately many specials didn't kick in until 4pm. He went with the burger, I went with the fresh baked biscuits and gravy (gravy on the side of course). For starters we enjoyed one of their large cinnamon sugar donuts. They weren't kidding, it was bigger than my hand and pretty darn tasty if you ask me. Our food didn't take long to come out which was impressive as they had a fifty person banquet in another area of the restaurant. My partner enjoyed the burger but wasn't able to finish his mountain of fries. I did a decent job on my meal. The biscuits were on the small side but fluffy and delicious. The sausage gravy was on the side and well seasoned. Made for some fun as I added the egg to the biscuit then the gravy the biscuit and the hash browns that came with. While we didn't indulge in a fresh cinnamon roll we did enjoy our time here. The waitstaff was efficient and helpful (some friendlier than others) and the check out line was oh so long (you've got to pay up at the register). We may just drop in on our next drive by to try out some of their other menu items or pick up a Jolly Rancher slush! read more

A four star truck stop? Yep. Eating here was a blast from my past. Having grown up in the area, the last time I came here was about 35 years ago. It was a favorite place to come after the game or dance to get a burger or one of their famous HUGE--H.U.G.E.--cinnamon rolls. My photo doesn't really do the size justice, but you can judge by my hand next to it. Johnson's Corner is not part of the Petro chain of truck stops. They've modernized the restaurant and gave it a more comfortable feel than in its white, plain, truck stop diner motif. They also have a deli bar where you can get items on the quick. We had the two egg breakfast. I had the option of a biscuit and gravy with my over medium eggs, which weren't over medium. But I have yet to find a place anywhere that understands over medium eggs. The hash browns were good. The bacon, though not crispy, was good. I suppose I could request crispy. Another in our party had their beef open-face sandwhich. That looked good. She also had green beans with it and the green beans were not mushy. The cinnamon rolls were excellent. Really big. Took more than half home to enjoy later. What I like about this diner is that they serve good food at really reasonable prices. The service is very friendly from our waitress to the counter help and the cashiers. I think many others enjoy Johnson's Corner as at 10:45, the place was full of customers. They also have a case full of pastries. Their donuts can be used for spare tires if you need one because they are so humongous. My photo shows one on the palm of my hand. As you can see, it completely covers my hand. The pancakes were not good at all they literally were not fluffy at all as soon as I even picked up a piece it fell apart the eggs were burned, hash brown had no flavor , also forgot my sausage as well. The Cinnamon Rolls are NOT heated enough before being served. Had to send my cold taco salad back to be heated, was served cold. Husband the next day had to send eggs back to be cooked all the way through. Friendly staff though. Dine in is appreciated. Will return though despite the inconvenience of 2 meals... food is good.. Food has gone downhill. It used to be good and we would meet family from Greeley and Loveland (midpoint) through out the last few years. I took my mom there after a dr appt for dinner a month ago. She got the taco salad and I got chicken fried chicken dinner. Some of the items tasted freezer burnt (chicken) or old (butter). It was sad to see the location empty so not sure if food has caused that or the bigger gas station close by. What REALLY upset me is that someone decided to give themselves a HUGE tip on my mom's debit card. They changed the tip value when they entered it, so hope they used the money for something of good. I didn't see the charge until my mom asked me yesterday. We don't have the receipt anymore and she doesn't know how to do online visual checks (realtime), as to why the delay in questioning, but no way did we spend that much $ on 2 dinners. Holy wow! Don't be deterred from this truck stop diner. They have a wide variety of comfort food on their menu and it is GOOD!! We had coffee and shared a piece of the coconut cream pie. It was soooo delicious!!!! We shared the ground steak plate with mashed potatoes, gravy, and green beans. It was delicious! The rolls that came with the meal were so soft and light. Yum! We ended up sharing another piece of the coconut cream pie for dessert. Seriously, it was amazing! The service was friendly and fast! It was clean and inviting. Upon entering you'll see the pies displayed. I made a rookie mistake by not venturing off a few feet to the right to look into that display before we sat down. The DONUTS!! Oh my hugeness! Been going here for 8 years and now we have gone for last time. Last week we went in and the restaurant was half empty and we still had to wait 30 min. Then the food took another 20-30min. We heard wait staff complaining about not wanting to take a table and nobody was happy or smiling. Either the management or the owners must not treat their workers good because they have a very hard time keeping good staff around and now everything is not good including the food. I ordered a burger thinking it would come on their homemade bun, but it came on a cheap brioche bun that was hardly even toasted. I used to enjoy it but it sucks now.
