My husband and I visited JoJo Nail Salon as first-time customers July 11, 2026. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and my husband had a great experience with his nail technician. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. Before my pedicure, I was asked how short I wanted my toenails cut. I clearly replied, "Not too short." However, due to a language barrier, the technician cut my nails extremely short, making it impossible to achieve a proper French pedicure. The final result looked unprofessional and was not what I had requested. After I expressed my concerns, the technician apologized but acknowledged it was too late to correct the appearance because the nails had been cut too short. No solution, discount, or gesture of goodwill was offered. I recommend providing additional training on appropriate nail length for French pedicures and ensuring technicians can effectively understand and communicate with clients. Better communication would help prevent experiences like mine. While I appreciate the friendliness of the staff, I left very dissatisfied with the quality of my service. read more

We came in as a walk in and they were able to accommodate a gel and gel-X manicure. The techs were all kind, though not very engaging with us in conversation. The dog that roams around is cute. The vibe is very laid back. Though, one of us did get nicked and started bleeding a bit. She also did get cat eye-- and they didn't magnetize it enough to get the real cat eye effect. I wanted a see transparent nude gel-x manicure but it became opaque after the three coats she had to put on. So over-all it was an okay experience but convenience was key. read more

I went on a Sunday evening and parking was easy. Prices were fair, especially considering today's economy. I got a French pedicure for $40. Not bad at all. JOJO is an okay salon - nothing special, but not terrible either. It's just average. It's located in the same plaza as Mokutanya, right next to the gas station. Parking is free in the lot, but can be hit or miss depending on how busy it is. I made an appointment for a pedicure a day in advance, but I think you could probably just do a walk-in too. I just wanted a basic pedicure ($35) which included: nail trim/shaping, cuticle care, buffing, sugar scrub, massage for legs/feet (more of a rub down of the legs, and I didn't recall a foot massage), and finally a polish. The polish I picked was more translucent than expected, and I was going to ask for a change, but decided it wasn't worth the trouble after my nail tech had already applied the initial coat on one foot. I feel like she would have been okay with me changing my mind though. They change the liners in the basins and it's fairly clean inside, although the interior is pretty rundown. You sit in these large massage chairs and have the option of using it if you'd like. Staff didn't really draw any attention to the massage feature. It didn't seem like they converse with patrons much, just spoke to each other once in a while in their native language. There's also a resident dog that hangs out in the spa. read more

Easy to get an appt and they never misquote me on the wait so I'm never waiting for more than 5 min--most the time they immediately have me seated without a wait! Some days I want a quick pedicure but other days I want to feel pampered and Hannah is the best for the pamper days! She takes her time and she spends a lot of time with the foot massage! Most techs will do a little 30 second rub but Hannah will work out every little scrub on my legs and feet. She's very quiet and diligent. I also love how this salon isn't overstimulating with chatter, it's more relaxing and quiet. No one is yelling at me to pick a color and they're super quiet and focused on their work. I came in right when they opened at 9:30 on a Tuesday. I was helped by Didi, and I'm quite satisfied w the results! I requested Gel-X w/ extensions, chrome with a pink cateye french tip. Didi was kind and detail oriented, ensuring to file down my overgrown cuticles and clipping any hang nails. I was out the door by 10:45/10:50. I paid in cash, so $85 total- $66.95 for Gel-X, $10.30 for chrome, $10.30 for cateye. The place was cute and clean, and they have a really sweet dog named Nala that likes to walk around. I guess this meant not even a clear coat because she left my nails bare with no polish, top coat or anything. When I asked if they had any natural nail colors for my pedicure they ignored me and instead watched me frantically try to pick a color with an annoyed look on their face. All I wanted was a sheer pink - so then I told her no color was fine. And she left me with the clear coat. After sitting there I saw a color on the table that looked like what I wanted so I pointed it out and she acted annoyed - then showed me that it was there all along and I didn't see, then she walked away. JoJo does it again! At a previous nail salon in San Mateo, when I asked for a gel polish removal and regular nail polish manicure to replace it, my nails were so bumpy and uneven from how they removed the gel and painted my nails after. I don't get my nails done often so I assumed that was normal and just what happened when you went from gel removal to regular polish. But 'lo and behold, I got my nails done today (yes the gel polish from my previous post lasted this long) and my nails are beautiful once again, no bumps in sight. This time I made a reservation day of, and I am happy that I did! They are so detail oriented but timely. I also kind of enjoy that they don't try to make small talk with you like a lot of salons do, and I can just relax and decompress for an hour or so. Don't get me wrong, I should probably get to know these ladies since they're now my go-to, but I don't feel awkward or like I'm expected to be "on." They also don't rush you when waiting for your nails to dry. Most places shoo you out after 15mins, but I stayed at least double that. No risk of banging it up immediately after leaving! I didn't like how my nails were filed and I couldn't communicate well enough to explain what was wrong. For echo g a couple nails weren't straight. The margins of the toe polishing weren't clean. I got my nails done one week ago today, ONE WEEK AGO last Tuesday (it is the following Tuesday) for my birthday trip which is where I'm writing this from. Today one of my nails lifted! Never in all the times I've had my nails done have they lifted in a week. So upset, it was one thing after another with this set. When I got them done I pointed out an area where the tech left an indentation and her excuse was that my nail was flat there. I have never been told this nor have I had any other tech leave an indention because I had "flat nails". I had a pedicure and a full set with dip and due to the "indentation" then had to have the tech cover the dip with gel polish. From day one the nails attracted color and marks with a matte polish, so polish over dip. I've never experienced that anywhere else. By day 5 on my birthday my nails looked a hot mess, it was disheartening and embarrassing especially considering what I paid. I've paid damn near half at other establishments and my nails and color lasted weeks. It is now 6am and I am getting ready for a full day on my vacation and have a nail lifting, I am beyond frustrated. read more
