I'm blown away! This place is such a beautiful gem located in downtown chagrin falls. I came here for my birthday dinner with a friend and we were both very impressed. From the fine dining, to the ambiance, the service: impeccable! We started with drinks which were amazing, got the starter of autumn vegetables: these were surprisingly delicious and I just wanted to savor these throughout my time here, we both got the Jojo's spicy vodka rigatoni, so yummy! It wasn't too spicy but had just enough of a kick to both of our likings. There are two sizes of the pasta and we both got the large one which was a good size. I appreciate them having two sizes based on your appetite or if you just wanted to give it a try without committing to a whole plate. I also got the truffle fries, I mean, who doesn't love a good platter of truffle fries?! For dessert, she got a coffee and I got the cheesecake. It had a caramel glazing that was incredible. I really loved the whole meal and it's some of the best food I've had in a long time! This place has easily become my favorite spot in chagrin falls and is located in such a beautiful building. The staff I also wanted to say were absolutely wonderful. So kind, helpful, and were checking on us often to make sure we were enjoying everything and to see if we needed refills. I had made reservations online and asked for a nice place to sit for my birthday and they seated us in a beautiful private booth with artwork inside and a curtain for privacy. I have been eyeing this restaurant ever time I drive by Chagrin Falls town center. Finally came here with some last minute reservations for an early summer dinner. It is a rather intimate areas, so I recommend reservations. I space has open windows which is perfect for the summer. Charming decor and seating. We enjoyed our drinks. The Argula salad is notable! So fresh and satisfying. The rest of the menu items were good. I was recommended the carrot cake, and it was worthy trying. read more

We haven't been here in a while. Checked in and was told our table wasn't ready , and we could sit at the bar. We did and had a drink. After 20 minutes I went to the hostess to ask if our table was ready... she grabbed menus and said yes follow me ... but I had to go to the bar first to close out the tab, asked to see where our table is , and it was right next to the bar, where we were sitting. It had been empty and clear the whole time we were sitting there. When I've checked in with the hostess I expect them to come and tell me when our table is ready - not the other way round. Food - calamari to start followed by steaks - was delicious and so well cooked. The calamari arrived and we had to wait as we had no silverware. My wife and I visited for our anniversary while we were in Ohio. I had read a few local bloggers reviews and decided to try it. From the front it doesn't look all that big but it has a lot of space once you check out the entire restaurant. My wife and I ate inside just past the bar by a fireplace. It was very pretty inside with white table cloths and a really nice bar. Service was ok on the whole. It took 4 minutes to be greeted upon being sat at our table. Our server was friendly but seemed a little busy. He took his time while speaking to us but in between table visits was busy. We had to put the water pitcher at the edge of the table to make sure he saw we were out of water. We asked for a bottle of wine recommendation between two and while he had a certain kind he liked, he didn't quite seem to know the two bottles apart. But that was ok. Win presentation was good and the bottle was a good bottle of wine, nothing too expensive. He was more attentive towards the end as it was closer to closing time. One of the three things that kept this place from 5 stars. The limoncello margarita was good. They just replaced Cointreau with limoncello to offer a slightly different taste. For appetizers we did jojos salad and the saffron primi pasta. The pasta was a miss despite the numerous good things I had read about it. We didn't taste any saffron. It tasted like a basic cream sauce. The second reason for not five stars. For dinner we got the Branzino and Prime Delmonico ribeye(both recommended from bloggers) and they were delicious. Steak was well cooked. The truffle butter was fantastic. The Branzino was well cooked and the sauce was great. We got asparagus with hollandaise for a side and it was the same standard as you would find in any steakhouse. We did the banana foster for dessert and it was a miss. The third reason for no stars. There just wasn't anything special about it. Overall we enjoyed our meal and would come back when in the area. My wife and I stopped in for a drink and a small bite today. Our server was great and our drinks even better! I got an Old fashioned and my wife a Joe fashioned? Tasted great... I ordered some Clam chowder and my wife got the calamari. These hit the spot for a late lunch. We were in a kind of melancholy way as we just signed our wills and power of attorney documents and felt sort of glad to get that out of the way. The sweet girl behind the bar, Ari, overheard us and told us we should celebrate the fact of the accomplishment with some Champagne and brought us two classes of bubbly. Her smile and kindness made us smile and we were happy we stoped in! We got our bill and the Champagne was on the house! She said it was the least Jo Jo's could do. We came for happy hour and to get a bite. However found out upon arrival, it was only at the bar! After being seated at a table, it took quite awhile for anyone to take our drink order and even longer to get them. However, the bar tender did apologize for the delay. After a bad start, the drinks were great! The server attentive! The steak salad, BLT sandwich with fries, meatball, and the lemon pasta with chicken & arugula all were delicious!! About a week ago, I had dinner on Jo Jo's patio, and it was not a good experience. We ordered tenderloin skewers (shish kebab), but what we received was far from tenderloin. Instead, we were served a few tough, chewy pieces of something resembling beef--perhaps rough sirloin, but certainly not prime. If you're tempted to order it, make sure it's actually tenderloin. It seems their short-order cooks might not know the difference between cuts of meat. They also deep-fry their French fries in seed oil--canola, I believe--which is an unhealthy, highly processed oil. For the price you pay, you would expect them to use a healthier option. No bread is offered. As for the ambiance, what was once an open patio with a view of the blue summer skies is now covered with a mishmash of tents, blocking any connection to the outdoors. The setting is harsh and gaudy. It's sad to see what the once-wonderful and well-known "Gamekeeper's" has become. read more

Everything you would expect from Chagrin Falls. The ambiance is cozy and modern, with a beautiful large bar that is front and center of the restaurant. Pro: The food and wine were delicious. The meau had some great variety, and honestly, I wanted it all. I got the branzino. Although it was small in size, it was packed full of flavor. I would've liked the skin to be a bit crisper-who doesn't like crispy skin! The potatoes melted in my mouth- creamy, buttery, addicting! My friend had the chicken, and the sauce that was paired with it made the dish! Con: Our waitress was very attentive at first, but the restaurant got a lot more crowded and the tables had a lot more people than us 2. She forgot my take out box twice as well as my bill, but I understand when things get a little crazy. Parking sorta sucks here. If you don't get there early (before the rush), there is only meter parking. If things get busy, beware of the meter. I cannot complain about places I've been in Chagrin Falls, so I recommend giving it a try! Enjoy :) read more

Yesterday 3 friends and I met at Bar Fuoco which I understand is owned by JoJo's Bar. We enjoyed the ambiance, cocktails and the pleasant accommodating demeanor of our server, Allison. I ordered 2 orders of chicken kebabs for take out. Unfortunately they were dry and overcooked. Perhaps we should have opened the take out containers prior to leaving. This was our first time to JoJo's after it had been remodeled (hadn't been there since it was Game Keepers). We really like what they've done by opening it up and adding some cool features like the outdoor patio & bar. The menu included lots of favorites, but we went with Calamari, Shrimp Saffron pasta, and the Spicy Vodka Rigatoni. Everything was excellent! And the service was just as good. This past weekend, my friend and I came to Jojo's when we decided we wanted a "girl dinner" after getting pedicures (a true "girl evening"). Our reservation was at 6 pm, and we were very glad that we made one because when we arrived, it was already pretty full. For our girl dinner, we decided to each get a glass of rosé, chopped Caesar insalata, pomme frites truffle fries, and JoJo's spicy vodka rigatoni. The rosé seemed like the best drink option to us - it was a pretty heavy pour for $8/glass. To be honest, I would've preferred a Coca Cola or a cider but JoJo's only carries Pepsi products and had no ciders on the menu. I wasn't that disappointed because I felt that the rosé still fit the theme of the evening, but something to note for others! Before getting our meal, we got a small bread basket with salted butter. There were 2 true breads and 1 kind of unusual thin cracker (which was surprisingly good) and it was a great way to start off the evening because we were starving. We asked our waitress if we could add burrata to our spicy vodka rigatoni because it otherwise lacked protein and we thought we would be a nice addition. When she happily made the modification, we were expecting a whole burrata ball to come on top of our pasta but it ended up being small dollops of burrata throughout the pasta instead. The cheese itself was very nice and the pasta had good flavor (it actually had some heat which I feel like can be rare with these Carbone style pasta dishes). The chopped caesar salad was very good - not too much dressing and a nice slice of cheese on top. I think I would've preferred more croutons but it was a nice dish to balance out our heavier foods. The truffle fries were incredible - it was a huge serving (we strained ourselves trying to finish it and still had leftovers so I would say it actually serves 3 or 4) and came with both ketchup and aioli. The truffle flavor was definitely present but not overwhelming, and the fry itself was on the thinner side, a style I adore. We were hoping to end our night with tiramisu but unfortunately JoJo's did not have that item on their dessert menu, so we ended our night there! This was not a cheap meal even though we didn't get anything crazy or with protein, but we enjoyed every second of it. Our meal was exactly what we were looking for and filled us up appropriately. If I had wanted to go for a different vibe this night, I may have ended up with a different review, but we left JoJo's very satisfied and eager to come back for more! read more

Went on Memorial Day Weekend and both the town and restaurant were very busy. Had reservations and had no problem getting seated. We were tucked away by the fireplace which was nice for the two of us. The restaurant was very busy, but the server managed to remain attentive to our table. Our drinks took a little while (nothing outrageous) and a manager brought us bread to our table - other than that, no complaints. The food was hot and delicious. We actually love JoJo's but last night was a severe disappointment. My steak was ordered Medium and what I got was more like a Pittsburgh. The outside was charred with the inside rare. Sides showed up 5 minutes after the steak, with the vegetables on the cold side and the potatoes so hot that it was clear that things had been forgotten. The place they sat us was cramped, dim and right next to this rowdy 10-group strong group of boisterous men but I still can appreciate the beauty of the décor, the fixtures and classy atmosphere. They don't have a big menu and the entrée portions were on the smaller side...BUT their free bread selection was kind of rockin'! There were like 4 varieties of carbs with a slab of butter. I ordered the waygu bucatini and it tasted pretty good. The dessert was the standout though and I highly recommend this--the butter cake. Heavens, it was good. We ate at the bar on a busy Monday night. Drinks were good. For dinner we ordered a NY strip steak and chicken. The food was fine, but very over priced. We had to pay extra for all sides and a sauce. We went here for my Mother's birthday dinner. We had reservations very early, 5 pm because that was all they had available. They have been open for six weeks as Jo-Jo's Bar. We got the stuffed peppers as am appetizer, they were mich spicier than I thought they would be. Either two big peppers or three small ones can feed a group of four. My Dad got the Steak Oscar and Caesar salad. My Mom ordered salmon, my husband got the Delmonico with whipped potatoes and I got a 6 oz. Filet with asparagus. Everything was cooked perfectly. The drinks were good next time I will try a cocktail. Dessert was wonderful. We got creme brulee and cheesecake. The server was helpful albeit less available as the night went on. They had food runners and busboys that kept the meal flowing. The food did start to take longer as the restaurant filled up. The bar also took longer. Not sure if they are understaffed like the rest of the world, but bring an extra dose of patience. As an equestrian, I loved all of the horse themed decor and the sections of tables were traditional with a modern twist. We would go again in a heartbeat. Be prepared, it's pricey. read more

Picture it...chagrin.. 2022 We moved here in 2016. We've been to this space in its iterations as Game Keeper's and Bull and Bird. JoJo's is all the best things of the prior iterations and more. Steaks are better. Space is better . It's all better. We had the carpaccio appetizer. It's huge. Must share. it's so good! Salty. Peppery. Capers. Local arugula. And Waygu slices. Then we split the shrimp pasta and the ribeye I had hoped to love the shrimp pasta. It was a creative dish. But it was gummy. Based on its pricing, this restaurant aspires to be high-end but falls well short on quality and ambiance. My partner and I ordered steaks, green beans, and potatoes al gratin. The potatoes arrived burned black on the top; we sent them back. How did they ever make it out of the kitchen? The steaks were only lukewarm. The beans were fine. The replacement potatoes arrived a long time into the meal and were not removed from the check. My girlfriend finished eating before me. While I was still eating, the server cleared her plate and asked if she could also clear the sides. Are the servers under pressure to turn the tables over? The noise level was so loud we had to shout to hear one another. This meal was to celebrate my birthday. My partner called earlier in the day and told them it was for my birthday. They said they'd offer a champagne toast or a dessert and that they'd made a note on the reservation. While we were there, nothing was said about it being my birthday. I only learned she'd called as we walked to the car. Parking is a difficult, with drivers competing for the rare open space. read more

The food here is always good, but we went for lunch for the 1st time, and were very disappointed. I got the omelette with Gruyère cheese for $22. This was at best a 1 egg omelette with minimal cheese (no cheese in 3 of the 5 bites of the entire omelette). I don't mind paying high costs for fine dining, but $22 for a tiny omelette with minimal cheese and a small amount of fries for a side was absurd. My wife's steak salad for $25 was very good. JoJo's was a delightful surprise! Having been a patron of this location when it was Gamekeepers, I expected much the same. Instead of a dim, dated, and dusty place we found a trendy, open, and happening restaurant. The bar was beautiful and all drinks were on point. Bottles of wine under $100 are half off on Mondays too! We tried the calamari and tuna tartar both of which were delicious. Spicy vodka with a meatball and the Bolognese for main meal were spot on and we licked our plates clean. Also all dishes came out very quickly and staff were fast and friendly without missing anything. The only complaints we had was the lack of vanilla bean in the crème brûlée. The tiramisu was odd and unique in its presentation. It wasn't bad but not sure if I'd take it over the traditional style. Judging by the crowd inside, people know this place is good.
