On a Wednesday night at 5p.m., visited Casa Rosa Cucina for happy hour and ended up having dinner. Sat at the bar with (Melissa?) and tasted Montepulciano, Valpolicella and Zinfandel by the glass until we selected our preferences. A nice feature is it's 25% during happy hour on wines and select small plates. We moved to a table to upstairs table. It was an odd time, Wednesday at 5-6, but we enjoyed the entire upstairs space to ourselves our entire visit, which seems sad, as it's a great space. The menu featuring handmade pasta, steak, seafood, and Mediterranean-inspired Italian dishes and we selected 1. Pasta Bolognese 2. Potato crusted grouper with truffled creamed corn. We loved the presentation of the food. My friend loved his Pasta Bolognese and enjoyed ot with the red wine. My meal was with mixed review. The Grouper itself was superbly and lightly breaded, and was soft and DELICIOUS..... however, I thought the Aoili sauce drizzle was too spicey. I recommend use it as a side dip vs. put it on in case people don't like it. Fortunately I was able to scrape off most of it, and once I got it off, the fish was delicious. My side was the creamed corn -- they raved about it. It was "nice", flavorful but I liked the fish best. We then ordered dessert. It was Baklava. They said they make it onsite with people from Greece. I have had a lot of Baklava and I've never had it this way. It featured a 2" thick, dense square. I've never seen it this thick - it's usually light and flowery-breaking as you eat it. Can't dislike honey and nuts and pastry, but I'd say my preference is thin and flaky type Baklava. The restaurant is beautiful and the room we were in cozy and inviting. I would like to return to try more things, so my issues with a couple small things did not overpower my like of the place -- the issues were 'details' and preferences. Good job. The food is really good and everyone is super nice. We've been here a few times, but I'm not sure we'll come back. We sat upstairs both times and had to ask to have the lights dimmed for some ambience. It's also very, very loud. We had larger parties both times and could not hear each other speaking and our server had trouble hearing as well. I think maybe some curtains or something that absorbs the loudness in there. This restaurant has excellent food. Last night was our first time visiting. The restaurant has two levels. We had a table in the top level. We ordered 2 appetizers, the ricotta cheese and an eggplant appetizer. Both were delicious. The restaurant has an extensive wine/drink menu. I ordered a Riesling from M cellars which was light and fruity. We ordered the scallops and red grouper. These were excellent choices and well prepared. We ended up with the lemon cake that we split 3 ways. It was so good I should have ordered my own piece. Service is excellent and very efficient. The restaurant is well- designed. My only criticism is that the restaurant is a bit noisy. The food and service make up for that little flaw. I recommend making reservations because Casa Rosa gets very busy. read more

We requested to dine upstairs thinking it would be quiet. it was noisy due to a large group seated nearby us. That ruined our experience right from the start. The waitress bent down 0n her knees to take our order and did so a few other times. That's unprofessional. The meals we ordered were mediocre. Quite a disappointment. The cheesecake desserts were outrageous in price and we did not care for the taste or texture. If they were delicious we wouldn't have minded the price. Everything is amazing! We were a party of 12. Every single appetizer is fresh, packed with flavor, and made with care. We had the bone marrow, mussels, arancini, fresh ricotta, calamari, charcuterie and the lamb chops! Every entree ordered was fresh and delicious. If there were 10 stars, We would give it a TEN. From the moment you walk into the front door and are warmly greeted, you feel like you entered a restaurant in Italy and everyone knows you. There were people at the beautiful bar area, having dinner and drinks, who said hi, made food suggestions to us and said they come here every Thursday. The bartender was patient as we took our time admiring all the bourbon they had on stock. The drinks did NOT disappoint. Our friends arrived and we were seated in the dinning room and the magic vibe continued. I can't say enough about Casa Rosa Cucina! Our family had a reservation to celebrate a 50th birthday. It's rare for our family to be able to gather together as most everyone lives out of state, and the age range of the participants was from 2 years old to 92 years old. Casa Rosa Cucina was beyond perfect for us. The food was fabulous and the service was warm and attentive. The ambiance worked very well as the little ones were able to entertain themselves in the "family room" with the couches and coffee table while the grown-ups chatted at the dinner tables. As a lifelong New Yorker and self-proclaimed foodie, I can honestly say Casa Rosa completely blew me away. We were in town for a wedding and this place came highly recommended. Now I understand why. The restaurant itself has such a unique charm. We learned that it used to be a run-down house, but it's been completely transformed into a quaint, gorgeous little restaurant. You can tell a lot of love went into the renovation. It feels warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed without trying too hard. I had the sea scallops with risotto, and it was hands down one of the best dishes I've had in years. The scallops were perfectly seared, buttery and tender, and the risotto was rich, creamy, and seasoned to perfection. My boyfriend ordered a chicken dish that he hasn't stopped talking about since, and I stole more than a few bites of their homemade pappardelle was also incredible, fresh, flavorful, and cooked just right. And then... the crème brûlée. I'm still thinking about it. Silky, perfectly torched on top, and not overly sweet. Just flawless. Our neighbors at the bar also got a charcuterie board that had me tempted to reach over and sample, it looked so good. Beyond the food, the service was warm and genuine. Frank, the owner, checked in on us throughout the night and made us feel like regulars. Our bartender Jen was equally wonderful, friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what she does. Stopped in without a reservation and it first it seemed like the service would be decent. We were seated at the bar which was ok with us. Took a while to get any service, the bartender (Francesco) seemed very unhappy and was arguing with many of the staff. I think she was overwhelmed between bartending and waiting on the people seated at the bar. Not a pleasant atmosphere. My husband ordered rum and coke but it tasted like Jack, so he asked for a new one. The bartender was not happy and insisted it was rum, but gave him a new drink. I ordered the seafood bulabae, which tasted off to me and not much broth like I've had it at other places. My husband got pasta and meatballs which were served with more of a noodle. It was just ok. The lady next to me also complained about the special she had which I think was sea bass. I had 2 beers. Our bill was almost $100. The single rum drink was 11.50. Very busy early on a Wednesday evening. By 5:30 wait staff were hurrying in and out of a very active kitchen. Started with the beet salad which was presented with excellent home-grown tasting red and yellow beets with goat cheese and lots af arugula and balsamic. The best I have ever had anywhere! The homemade pappardelle was perfect with the tomato cream sauce and shank which was shredded throughout. We were celebrating a birthday and selected the recommended in several reviews chocolate cake. The piece would generously serve four. Next time I would choose something else since this was too filling. I was disappointed that they didn't even put a candle in it since reviews had indicated much more personal celebrations. However they were very busy and will continue to be so if the food continues to be served at this high level. read more

My wife and I celebrated Valentine's Day at Casa Rosa Cucina, and it was wonderful! The restaurant was warm, inviting and beautiful inside. The staff was fantastic and took the time to answer any questions we had about the dishes being offered, and their wine selections. The owners were so kind and gracious. Wine options were good by the glass and the bottle, we tried to the Chardonnay and the Pinot Grigio and they were both excellent The service was terrific, our server Maria was very attentive and we witnessed her excellent service to other tables as well. The owner Frank made an appearance to say hi to the tables tonight. The risotto was so comforting and creamy and really hit the spot. I also really enjoyed the beet salad My dad loved the steak Diane special. Dessert was spot on, the Limoncello cake was perfect and the little chocolate house made on site was the cherry on top of a lovely evening. We caught sight of the chocolate cake, it would serve three easily lol. Prices are not inexpensive, but commensurate with the quality of the experience. My dad used to say "if the parking lot is full the restaurant is good," how true that is. We had dinner on a Wednesday to celebrate my 70th birthday and the parking lot was full. Casa Rosa is a gem of a fine dining restaurant in Kirtland. The food is genuine Italian, the chef is phenomenal, and the desserts are top notch too. Frank, the owner, greeted us at the door. Maddy, our server, and current law student, was super friendly and attentive.We had a party of six and everyone raved about their food. Local wines are featured from M Cellars and Baci Winery. It's obvious a lot of effort and love was put into the renovation to make Casa Rosa Cucina a cozy and welcoming atmosphere for an Italian eatery. We highly recommend this restaurant read more

Everything at Casa Rosa was outstanding. The stuffed peppers with homemade sausage are a must-try. Our table ordered the Conchiglie Salsiccia Italiana, Tuscan Grilled Salmon, and the Chef's Cut 8 oz filet--each dish was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. We had dinner with friends at Casa Rosa Cucina last night. Maria took care of us and she was fabulous. We tried many things from the small plates menu such as the lemon ricotta with crostini and the zucchini cakes, which were both amazing, the lamb lollipops were fantastic, the Arancini had a wonderful flavor. Was so impressed by what I saw and the greeting I received that I immediately made reservations to come back with another couple. Our food was delicious. Our server Riley was fantastic. Food is fine, HOWEVER, we just got takeout over the weekend, and the containers reeked of fragrance--I don't know if it was hand lotion, perfume or aftershave. Literally reeked. I would hope that the owners would tell the employees (even though they should know this) that they are working with FOOD and the public. If hand lotion, there are plenty of fragrance-free options. Knock off the perfume and aftershave. Customers have allergies. Customers get migraines from fragrance. I don't want to eat my food and taste your choice of fragrance. Disgusting. read more
