    Teller Tower
    Elizabeth H.

It is the weekend of our 6 month wedding anniversary so wanted to try somewhere special. So we ventured on a mini road trip to West Chester to dine at 9Prime. My husband parked the car, dropped me off and I checked in for our reservation. This restaurant is beautiful! Dark, moody, sexy. The renovated bank theme was very on brand, as our wedding was in the same type venue. Most all tables were occupied at our 7:30 seating and we were sat by the vault room at a small table. It still felt very intimate. One standout mention in our entire experience at 9Prime was the service. At first greeting, seating and attendance through our meal, service was polite, attentive and high class. Our server gave genuine, warm smiles all through helping us. As in experience 9Prime- top notch. But now to the meat of the steakhouse- the food and drink... Signature dirty martini- perfection. Dosed with the best swish of brine to let the gin shine. My husband enjoyed the variety of bourbons to try something new. For appetizers we ordered the Teller Tower and French Onion Soup. A seafood tower screams celebration and we CELEBRATED flavor with this seafood. Exceptional. The mussels were soft pillows with lemon accent. I wanted to steal them all for my belly. The oysters were midsized, clean, no grit and mild brine. Tuna crudo- could eat for days, give me that in a favorite sushi roll! And the shrimp was cooked perfectly, large, meaty, no chew. This tower is a must order. The french onion soup was hearty and bold brothy. Minimal sherry and beefy. Lots of onions and not overly cheesy. Then we decided on entrees. This unfortunately is where 9Prime underwhelmed. The Duck Confit was crispy but salty (and I agreed and am made for salt, lolol). The sweet potato gnocchi were firm but a nice accompaniment in option rather than a puree. The off-put was the jus. The red wine turned bitter and my husband called out a "liver" like flavor. It was distracting. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass. Boo bass. This is my favorite fish and last night it was not. The portion of fish was small for the pricing. The Dijon sauce was delicious but not the pairing for this fish. Better sought to accompany a steak. And the Leek Rice. Fried rice, sort of. Like if you burn the rice in the bottom of your pan, turn it upside down and serve it anyways. This dish is not it. Happily surprised, we were then greeted with an anniversary treat of macaroons. French pockets of goodness. Very nice touch. We still ordered dessert, as who can resist banana in ice cream form. This gelato was Banana, not banana flavor, delicious ripe banana. Creamy, not heavy and refreshing. Finished off dessert with an espresso martini split for two. Strong coffee flavored encore in a delicious foamy sip. So 9Prime, very well done on so many fronts. And an occasion restaurant of recommend. However the 5 star is missed in entrees. The stars lie in service, environment, drinks and appetizers- in redemption being best served cold.

An elevated dining experience at 9 Prime--West Chester's hidden gem! From the moment we stepped in, we were blown away by the stunning interior--modern, elegant, and full of character. The iconic bank vault we were seated next to added such a cool, historic vibe to the night. With a reservation, we were greeted and seated in under 5 minutes! The service was top-notch. Every staff member was friendly, helpful, and attentive. If someone didn't have an answer, they made sure to follow up quickly. You could tell they cared about the experience they were creating. As first-time guests, they gave us space to explore the menu while still keeping things moving. The atmosphere was vibrant but not overly loud--just perfect for enjoying great food and conversation. We started with the Italian chopped salad with a grilled chicken breast substitution--they nailed it perfectly. My husband ordered the smoked burrata, which was not only delicious but beautifully presented. For entrees, I had the 8 oz filet mignon, cooked medium rare, and it was perfectly done--tender, juicy, and flavorful. I paired it with broccolini (requested with no oils), and they got it just right. My husband went with the lobster & black truffle carbonara, which was rich, decadent, and absolutely worth the splurge. We paired everything with a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon from Twenty Acres--a fantastic choice with great depth and smooth finish. This place checks all the boxes: ambiance, service, presentation, and flavor. Highly recommend for a special night out or a luxe dinner with loved ones. We'll definitely be back!

I want to start by saying our waiter was very pleasant, and I absolutely loved the atmosphere! The restaurant was also very clean, which added to the overall experience. We came here to celebrate our anniversary, and it made for a lovely evening. I can't recall all the details of what we ordered, but I had a steak and my husband ordered the duck. The food was very good and we enjoyed our meal--it just didn't quite reach that "amazing" level for us. I'd consider coming back for another special occasion, but I'd probably explore a few other places first before returning.

The beautiful piano adorned with paper lanterns and flowers.

I hosted a rehearsal dinner for 55 guests. Chris was there to greet me, and understood my vision for the space. He took over decorating, and I returned to the most magical venue! The staff were all so accommodating and helpful. Then...the food!! So incredible! Everyone ate and drank as much as they could and had the very best time! Would 10/10 recommend 9Prime for ANY celebration! Enjoy!

Happy hour food: Cheesesteak Egg rolls, Calamari, Calabria Flatbread.

Surprised to see so many negative reviews. 9 Prime is a great restaurant with a wrap-around bar and a great happy hour. I have eaten here for both dinner and happy hour. The service is always great and staff friendly. The calamari is great and the cheesesteak egg rolls. Also, the steak skewer is good but small. The flatbread was just ok, it's more of a pizza than a flatbread bc it is not flat. There is a members only speak easy in the basement. This is a great option for a fancy dinner in west chester (steaks are great) or a nice happy hour. Definitely recommend.

This spot has so much potential but they definitely have a ton of kinks to work out. The host was nice and friendly but clearly lacked experience/professionalism. I wouldn't blame her though, she looked very young. Similar story with our server, it almost seemed like he was acting like what he thought a server at an upscale steakhouse should act like. The smoked burrata was NOT good. The smoke did not pair well with the cheese at all. My filet mingo was good but not super special, the scallops were great though. We got mashed potatoes and lobster Mac as well. Again, good but not exceptional. There were some really pretty parts of the building but we ended up stuck in the back. I would try it again but I'm going to give them some time to hit their stride.

The food is consistently solid and portions are not cheap. Bar program is a cut above the rest; first rate! Bar staff is professional and knowledgeable. Cool luxe vibe.

We went for their Easter brunch buffet and had a really nice time. They had a lot of stations, including a carving, omelet and create your own pasta. They had a variety of items and for the price it was really enjoyable. The service was attentive and kind. The chef even stopped by our table and introduced himself. The overall ambiance of the restaurant was also really nice. It's an old bank transformed, so it was really beautiful and bigger than expected. They had live music playing, which was really nice. I would definitely like to go back for dinner/ normal menu.

Nestled in the heart of West Chester, PA, 9 Prime stands out as a beacon of culinary excellence and refined taste. From the moment you step through its inviting doors, you are greeted with an ambiance that exudes warmth and sophistication. The most significant surprise was the number of young people in charge of the dining room. They provided a level of service and attention to detail you'd expect from 30-year veteran staff. The true star of 9 Prime is undoubtedly its food. Each dish is a testament to the chef's creativity and mastery of flavors. The freshness and lightness of the Caesar salad, the wedge salad, and pork belly started our meals. The dressing was perfectly balanced with the size of the dish. We enjoyed the Kansas City Strip steaks, with sides of bordelaise and brandy au poivre, and fresh Sea Bass, all recommendations from our server who knew the menu and wasn't afraid to share her menu insight. My wife commented that this Sea Bass was the best seafood she ever tasted. The Cabernet paired with the steak, another recommendation from our server, brought utter perfection to the main course. The lobster mac and cheese was loaded with fresh lobster and the truffle fries were so light and crispy, like no truffle fry I've ever seen anywhere. We finished our meal with peanut butter mousse. It was so light with perfectly balanced sweetness. All ingredients were impeccably fresh, and the presentation was nothing short of artful. The ambiance at 9 Prime is both elegant and comfortable, striking the perfect balance between upscale dining and a relaxed atmosphere. The soft lighting, live jazz music, at least on this Saturday night, and artful decor create an environment that is perfect for both intimate dinners and larger gatherings. It's a place where you can unwind and savor your meal, whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply enjoying a night out. Ask for a table on the 2nd floor overlooking the main foyer. A coat service is needed for a restaurant with this level of service and food. Service at 9 Prime is nothing short of exemplary. A special shout out to Kendel, a marketing major at West Chester University. She brought expertise, attention, and fun to our dining experience. The staff overall is attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about ensuring that every guest has a memorable experience. From the moment you are seated, you are treated with the utmost care and professionalism. The servers are adept at recommending dishes and wine pairings, and their attention to detail is evident in every interaction. 9 Prime in West Chester, PA, offers a dining experience that is second to none. It beats the likes of The Capital Grille and Del Frisco's. With its exceptional food, charming ambiance, beautiful decor, and outstanding service, it is a restaurant that leaves a lasting impression. Whether you're a local or just passing through, a visit to 9 Prime is an absolute must for any culinary enthusiast.

We came here for Christmas Eve dinner and I want to start by saying every staff member was so incredibly friendly and that made the experience so much nicer. The restaurant itself is stunning, and we were lucky enough to have been sat in a private room, which was perfect for our group because some of the folks have a harder time hearing. I thought the food was very good, but extremely expensive (which comes with the territory in a place like this) while I am sure it is worth it for some of the meats and things, I think it may have been much for the sides and salads... I was pretty disappointed that there were really no great vegetarian options (I believe there were a few items when they first opened but no entrees or anything right now) I had to have a salad, which was good but I would have preferred something heartier. I understand it is a steakhouse but having a veggie forward option or two is not that difficult and lots of other high end places offer vegetarian dishes. Honestly this means I likely won't go back here for food, since there isn't much for me. I will however go back for drinks! The cocktails were delicious and very well made. I like that they had holiday cocktails and a good variety of options. I had the Charlie 75, Christmas Cosmo, and The Bowen. All were fabulous. I also enjoyed the desert, I had the ginger snap crème brûlée and it was phenomenal. Overall the experience was lovely, the drinks were good, but I was really disappointed in my lack of food choices.

So we made a 4pm reservation at Joey Chops. It had always been on a list of things to visit when we are in the area. Parking is a large lot shared with various businesses. We did not have a problem locating a parking spot. Once we were parked we walked in and were seated immediately. The interior is dark in what I call a main dining area which was to the left. But to the right is the bar area and the outdoor seating. That area was bright. Could be because the door was open to the outside dining patio. The dishes were cute. The seating was comfortable. The whole aesthetic was met in many ways, even to the bathrooms. The bathrooms were large, comfortable and they offered extras like lotions and mints. Our waiter Joey was amazing. He was very attentive. The other staff were great as well. From other waiters, waitresses, kitchen staff and food runners. They were all helpful, kind and attentive. We ordered various items off the menu including dessert. I had the She Crab Soup. They had a nice take on it. I live in Virginia so it was a different taste than what I have there, but it was delicious. My son devoured his grilled Mediterranean Bronzino. He had no complaints. The portions were decent. My husband had the Prime Delmonico. He loved it and it was cooked perfectly. I over heard the table behind us thinking about ordering it as well. I almost turned around and said to order it because my husband did and loved it. But, I stayed in my lane hehe. For sides we have the lobster Mac n cheese, Brussels sprouts and the blue crab fried rice. Ok, that fried rice was pretty dang good. I was surprised by it honestly. I'd get it again. The lobster Mac n cheese had good chunks of lobster in it and it was perfectly cheesy. The Brussels sprouts had a sweet flavor to it, from the I think pomegranate glaze. It was not overly sweet, it complemented the sprouts well. Last but not least, dessert. I ordered the cheesecake cart experience. Let me just say my cheesecake expectations have gone up. Ha! My cheesecake better be wheeled out on a cart with all the toppings. The cheesecake itself was creamy and sweet. It was the first slices as well. It was fresh. The toppings were perfect, chocolate, fresh whipped cream, strawberries and a brûléed top. The bruleed topping was my go to immediately. We also had an ice cream flight. The pistachio was a fan favorite. Pricing was on point and expected for this type of establishment. I honestly feel the food and presentation meet the cost. We will definitely be returning.

We definitely over-ordered but told plenty home for leftovers. For appetizers we ordered the pork belly bao buns and the Thai salad with shrimp. These are more entree size so be forewarned. The bao buns came in a taco server and had three buns filled with plenty of pork and a spicy aioli. The Thai salad came with 5 nicely charred shrimp and a Napa salad. This ate a little dry-I would have appreciated a bit more dressing- but I can see where more dressing might have made this a bit soggy. We would definitely order these again For entrees, we tried the burger and the chicken pot pie. The burger was a double patty with cheese, pickled onion, and a mayo based sauce on a sesame bun. I have to say I was happy to see that they opted out of the usual sad lettuce and anemic tomato that is typical of early spring. I think it was lacking some salt as it was missing something but overall was ok and served with crispy shoestring fries. The pot pie was topped with some puffed pastry and had a nice velvety sauce with hints of tarragon. Very nice. My dining partner finished my burger and took most of the pot pie and the side salad that came with it home. Even though my dining partner couldn't finish his regular entree, he wanted dessert. After looking at the choices the server suggested the seasonal dessert which was beignets with whipped cream, chocolate and strawberries. I was reticent but was happy with the choice because the chocolate dipping sauce (of which there was plenty ) was DELICIOUS! The beignets were fried puff pastry or croissant dough that one dipped in the warm chocolate fudge-y ganache and/or whipped cream. I ordered coffee which paired well with the dessert and it was delightfully fresh. Service was good, friendly and attentive. Decor is industrial farmhouse. Clientele consists of workers from the local courthouse up to about 6 pm when we saw families starting to file in. Nice place, good food, good value.

I also ordered the octopus appetizer salad. The octopus was seasoned with harissa (not quite Italian but ok). Unfortunately it was slightly overcooked leaving it chewy. We had a round of drinks (I had Iced Tea since I was driving) others had alcoholic drinks which were excellent. We started with the standard bruschetta. Very good. Also had a foccacia with a side of ricotta and honey. Also had a charcuterie plate with cheeses, olives, sweet peppers and peperoni. Plenty to share with 5 people. I had a salad with calamari. The calamari was tender and sweet. Salad was seasoned just right. We're from Delaware and this is our favorite restuarant in West Chester. Highly recommend.

Do not park in the lot next to the building because it is for the US Postal Service and your vehicle will be towed. There is a parking garage around the corner on the corner of Walnut and Chestnut Streets. The cost is 25 cents for every 15 minutes. We ordered an Old-Fashioned with Woodford and a Blueberry Shaker. The Blueberry Shaker was only 3 dollars more than the regular drink and it yielded a total of 4 drinks for my partner. The drinks were good. For our meals we had the Steak and Shrimp Bourbon, Bourbon Street Burger, and a side Caesar Salad. Everything tasted very good. The decor is New Orleans Style although not completely authentic. There is a beer garden for those who want a less formal atmosphere. The hostess was incredibly good at her job. She was very friendly and engaging. We really enjoyed her service. The first impression of the restaurant that she gave was excellent.

First, my girlfriend and I arrived to the restaurant. We requested a specific table, and the host was gracious enough to do so. We then waited 8 minutes before our table was even touched, and it was just our (server? No intro, nothing) ASKING us if we'd like water. We say yes, and then waited an additional 5 minutes just to receive water in PLASTIC cups. Again, this person never told us his name, and we weren't even sure if he was taking our order or not. He appeared to be about 18, and was most certainly high Then, we requested glasses, and since it had been 15+ minutes since we sat down, said we were ready to order when we got the glasses. The guy took our order. We both got cocktails, which also took about 10 minutes. Finally, our appetizer came. We weren't even halfway through before the entrees came, we probably had about 10 minutes to finish it. This all could have been negated if our order was taken correctly, and things could have been staggered correctly. The "two bite" check occurred within 30 seconds of our food being dropped, and by then I hadn't even touched my food. It was way too early and felt like he was just trying to get it out of the way. At that point both my girlfriend and I were just ready to eat and we said everything was fine. I had to ask the guy for a bag on the way out, rather than him giving me one after our food was put into 3 boxes. I want to be empathetic of whatever was going on at The Social that Sunday. Yet, if you are going to make your steak $42, the service needs to justify that price. I will not be going back to The Social, and encourage their management to speak to their server who flubbed the ENTIRETY of my experience there. Myself and my girlfriend both work in the service / restaurant industry, and we know what good service is. We also understand that there are bad days. This was just abysmal. 4/10.
