I was pretty excited to try Jollibee. I've heard good things. However, my experience didn't meet those expectations The biggest issue was the freshness of my order. The chicken sandwich and fries were room temperature (i.e., cold ), as if they were sitting and waiting for a while. The flavor was okay. I had the worse experience ever waiting for food at this location on 12/31/2025. The cashier halted taking in-store orders to service online orders, resulting in my having to wait ~1.5 hours to get my order (under the name Irene). 25 minutes of wait was experienced due to waiting for spicy chicken, as the pieces available were used-up in the online orders for people yet to arrive. It was freezing cold inside, which further made the wait more unbearable. I complained to the manager, who was difficult to finally get, and who should have been helping staff to get orders processed better. This location needs to be better staffed, prioritize in-store orders vs online, and have management backfill during rushes. I also suggest having a kiosk to help equalize in-store orders to the online orders getting priority. This was a horrible experience. I've had Jollibee in the Philippines and the wait though long, doesn't compare to that at the Bloomingdale location. read more

Got the chicken sandwich and pie meal deal, your choice of side and pie and comes with fountain drink. Got the spicy chicken and it wasn't spicy, but the Jalapeño was spicy. Wish there was a little bit more mayo sauce only had a quarter size of it. The chicken was very crunchy. Fries were crispy and not salty. Had the Mango pineapple pie, which is really good (in my opinion similar to McDonald's apple pie type). The meal deal is $11. Pricing is comparable to most fast food joints nowadays. read more

I received an off of $5.00 off if I used the app as a new user, but that was just bait & switch, there was no $5.00 off. The Jollibee app said my order was ready but when I walked in it was not ready & I had to wait & beg for my food for 45 minutes. The lady in the front with the long black fake eye lashes was telling everyone that walked in that the wait was over an hour and thereby encouraging them to leave without ordering. She asked me what my name was about 5 times and kept walking around slamming trays as if she was terribly under paid, stressed out & over worked. I asked her if I should not have used the Jollibee application & she refused to answer. Today Jollibee broke the record for worst service & food ever provided & I am not trying to be over dramatic. The Ambiance was a serving of depression, a side of hostility, & for dessert Jollibee served anger & resentment from its front line cashier. Finally as I received my order 45 minutes after they said it was ready I was practically mugged by a pan handler outside the door. Horrible experience. Management really needs to step up. I won't be surprised at all if it shuts down. When I went, the place was busy and dirty. I waited in line for the bathroom for 10 minutes. An employee came out of one of the bathrooms while on FaceTime, and as she left, she locked the door in front of me. I asked if I needed to get a key to use it, and she told me it was for employees only--yet there were no signs. The doors only said all-gender restrooms. At that point, I gave up and decided to use the restroom at the next establishment. I should've just gone to Chipotle for lunch instead. Meanwhile, the other bathroom was occupied for over 30 minutes. At that point, it was obvious the person inside was doing drugs, especially since I saw him come out with a suspicious-looking bag. That made me even more upset. Customers were left waiting for just one bathroom even though there were two. Look, this hurts to write. I'm Filipino, and have had Jollibee in the Philippines, on the west coast, and over by Seafood City in Chicago. Now, I was sad when I visited the one in Chicago to find out they had a smaller menu than the ones in California (though I think the US menu is more standardized now). But somehow, this location has even *less*. You can get the fried chicken here, and the spaghetti, and the mango pies. But no palabok? No spicy chicken?? If you really have a craving for Jollibee this might satisfy you, but honestly there's a Filipino-owned wing place not far away (Fry N' Wings) and it might be more worth it to make the trip out to the Chicago one. I was excited to have one close to me, but it's just disappointing to know that for some unknown reason this place is gutted. read more

chicken is really good. love that they give u large orders of gravy for the buckets of fried chicken! wasn't into the sauces for the tenders so much. honey mustard was most likely ken's dijon. pretty good. but the fries were cold and not good. the drinks like this lychee iced tea was good, just think the size was kinda small for the upcharge....biscuits were great. busy inside and too hot, felt u comfortable and a bit stuffy so opted for to go. mac and cheese looked good too but my daughter ate it all before i could try it, she loved it! nice option for fried chicken, spicy was really good. read more

One star because it reminds me of my childhood. Other than that, all points removed for service, inefficiency, and unnecessary long wait. The service is absolutely non existent. It's a real shame because this is supposed to be a fast food restaurant. It is slow food restaurant, at best. People come here for nostalgic reasons and for novelty. This Jollibee branch is the worst in Illinois area, I'd rather drive straight to Seafood City Jollibee or the Skokie branch. for some reason this branch has the driest chicken, burnt or doesnt taste like a real Jollibee chicken. Something is wrong with their food. its either a re-heat or something is wrong with their fryer or they are getting the chicken joy from a different supplier. I dont recommend goint to this branch. We went in kind of excited, with a little trepidation, but it was all disqppintment. I have watched videos about the origin of Jollibee because I was curious when I saw the sign and the crowd. But this isn't the Jollibee from the videos. At least not yet. They don't have burgers and I'm not sure if those are coming at all at this location. Additionally they had no spicy chicken sandwich, no adobo rice, no pies, no burger steaks which I didn't want to try, no mac and cheese, and no chicken tenders. The chicken sandwich I got was supposed to be deluxe and it was plain, and overcooked and dry. And kind of flavorless. The fries were not just cool but cold and chewy. The mased potatoes were fine but cool. The spaghetti was not my cup of tea. The fried chicken was dark meat only and was just ok. Biscuits were sub-par and we were missing 2 of them. We also got too many potatoes and not enough spaghetti, not that we cared. The place is slammed, I assume because they are only a month old. There seemed to be enough employees but they were very inefficient. Every order was very slow. We almost hit 40 minutes for a fairly small order. There was nowhere to sit so we stood, near the overflowing garbage cans. Some of this may iron out as time goes by and I want to try the spicy chicken sometime, but I'll wait a good while. read more

It was my first time at this location, and unfortunately, my experience left a bad first impression. When we walked in, no one greeted us--not a huge deal, but it set the tone. We placed our order, and everything was correct on the receipt. However, when we went to dine in, every table was dirty except for one--the one right next to the garbage. Not exactly an ideal dining spot. When our food arrived, we were given the wrong order. I politely pointed this out, but instead of a simple apology or effort to correct it smoothly, I was met with skepticism. The staff looked at me as if I was lying and asked to see my receipt. The same person who took my order was the one who handed it to me, so the mix-up should have been obvious. Not once did I receive an apology--just an annoyed attitude, as if I was trying to finesse them. To top it off, we weren't even given napkins. When I asked for some, I was handed just two napkins--which felt almost intentional. I expected better, especially from the "House of the Famous Chickenjoy." I had high expectations for this fried chicken and this simply failed to meet the hype. Quality- the chicken was worse than Popeyes quality. Quite a shame for a Filipino fried chicken place to miss the mark. The chicken breast pieces were dry. I had to drink water to be able to swallow it. The skin was not crispy either. In fact, it was quite soggy especially the ones near the bottom. There was no unique seasoning or flavoring I can tell. At least Popeyes has chicken with crispy skin that's not dry. Quantity- it is a bit pricy too. About 20 bucks for a small bucket of chicken. I can get higher quality and quantity chicken from choong man chicken or bonchon. Being born in the Philippines, this place is super nostalgic for me. I look at that bee like kids from the US look at Ronald McDonald. With a location right next to Chipotle, it's super convenient to be able to pick up a quick meal. It is always such a pleasure to have a Filipino establishment move into the neighborhood. However, I have to admit my first time at this location was not a pleasurable one. The food is good, and standard, however their menu is substandard. They don't even have palabok at this time. Which is super disappointing, considering my daughter had been waiting for that palabok since we saw the Jollibee construction sign. Also, no Jolly hot dog, which means no jolly me. My biggest criticism about this place is that for being open only one week, it is already dirty. And I find that this is the standard for all Jollibees in the US. They open, look nice for a little bit, and then end up looking messy for the rest of the time it's open. I look forward to their menu getting bigger and will likely try it again when they have palabok. read more

Very small establishment! There was nowhere to sit. The places we could sit were dirty. I went to get paper towels to clean my own table and someone said do you need napkins? I said no I needed to clean a tables. He said he'd come out to clean it. He dry wiped the table without any cleaner, was kinda gross. I did go back later that day because I drove so far I did want try it. The best thing is the gravy. The tenders were a bit bland but that might be the Filipino style that everybody loves but it's a little different from typical American tenders. I wanted to try the ground pork and noodles but this location did not ever sell it they told me. I also wanted to try the meat patties and gravy and they were out of that. They were also out of their regular named sauce which I thought was weird. Overall it was OK and the gravy save the day dipping the tenders because that gravy is so yummy. everybody was waiting a long time for their order because they were so far behind opening two hours late, they didn't even have rice available for a long time. On Labor Day we made the horrific mistake of going to this horrid excuse for a fast food restaurant. It took nearly two hours to get an order of a chicken sandwich, mashed potatoes, pineapple juice and a mango pie. The restaurant was freezing cold, after such a very long wait for our order, the sandwich was like warm as we're the potatos. The drink was warm. We tried several times to get a refund and leave but the cashier was new and completely incompetent. The restaurant was crowded with others in our same predictament. The bathrooms were beyond filthy. Worst experience in a fast food restaurant ever. We have been to other jolleebees and never ever had an awful experience like this. The service here is just so bad. They did so well when they opened during the fall of 2023 and handled the opening lines of customers fine, but now it's been taken over by teenagers who don't care enough about the job (it's fast food, why would they?)--but still, keeping a level of professionalism in a service-type job is necessary. Especially when you're a teenager--these retail and food service jobs are literally where they have to start from. I came specifically for spicy chicken--which should not even be advertised if they are not willing/going to sell it, honestly. The cashier told me it would be a 20 minute wait. I told her that was fine. Another young boy working behind her bluntly said to her, as if complaining, "did you tell them it would be a wait?!" And the cashier said "yes but they still wanted it." I think I ended up waiting 40 minutes to get my order. The food was good. They always seem to forget an item every time though, and I always check my bag/order before I leave because I've had too many problems with missing items from this location. I did not come during a lunch or dinner rush. There were only two other customers when I had placed my order. The employees here just have to keep their impulsive thoughts to themselves. I get it, no one likes working retail or food service, but whether a temporary job or not, professionalism is necessary. I discovered Jollibee back when my Filipina colleague said to check it out when I was going to visit Skokie. It was phenomenal. This led to finding the location on State Street in downtown Chicago near Millennium Park and whenever I stayed at a hotel downtown I would opt to eat there over all others (well maybe once to have Purple Pig). Now I work a mile away from this new location in Bloomingdale and while driving by a few weeks ago I slammed on my brakes doing a double take then pulled over to make sure I wasn't hallucinating. It opened on Friday the 13th, 2023 but I've been there twice in the first four days it's been open and have had only good luck. Sorry to say that I would describe this location as a Jollibee express... they dont have yumburgers (yet?) or palabok (yet?). Their menu is not as extensive as their branch in Skokie or Seafood City. Food wise, you may say you dont understand the hype... thats alright. Your taste is different, understandable. Their chicken is still on point on how i remembered it back when. The wait was almost 20 minutes for 4 chicken tenders and 1 burger. We had to go up and ask about it. It wasn't that busy. The front counter help were like deer in headlights. Could tell they were struggling. As for the food, I would not recommend it. The chicken was like rubber and the breading is not tasty. The burger was mediocre. If there's one thing that is certain, I am a huge fan of fried chicken. This next location is so popular in the Philippines that many compare it to the popularity of McDonald's in the states. The restaurant I'm talking about is Jollibee in Bloomingdale. This location recently opened less than a month ago. There are other locations in the Chicago area. This one was by far the closest to my home. I was excited to try out their chicken and see what all of the fuss was about. I arrived around 3 o'clock on a Wednesday. It was completely packed. The popularity of this place amongst Asians is so insane that they put out extra standing room under a tent to get into this location, roped off with gates. When I finally made it to the door, I noticed a sign that stated occupancy no more than 65 people. There was well more than that shoved into this extremely small location. The claustrophobia of so many people pressing against everyone almost made me walk out on this review. This entire location is set up horribly. They have a large center area that is filled with large tables. This area, from what I witnessed, was just people standing around or sitting, waiting for their food to be prepared. There is one small table off to the right where you could eat your food inside. That table which was meant for four people had about ten people all crammed into it. The amount of people that were waiting in line for this place you would think they were handing out money. I waited in line for 30 minutes until I was able to put in my order. The girl taking my order looked like she was on another planet. I told her I would like two chicken breasts. I asked her if they have chicken breasts and she said there is no more spicy available but regular is available. I told her to give me regular flavor chicken. I then did a side of macaroni and cheese and a side of mashed potatoes with gravy, with a pineapple drink. I noticed that people that were coming in after me were getting their food first. I waited in standing room only. I forgot to mention that they had everyone buzzers for when the food is ready it's that busy. After about 40 minutes, I've seen literally everyone that came in after me get their food. I walked to the front counter and asked what was going on. Of course when I came to the front counter that is when they told me that my food was ready. I could not wait to get out of this place. I grabbed my food and my drink. I had to find my way through the crowd to get through the front door. I took my food home. I opened up my chicken. I was shocked to see that I have a chicken leg and a chicken thigh, not the chicken breast that I ordered. I was extremely disappointed. I am not the biggest fan of dark meat. The chicken crust was very crispy and had a good flavor. The chicken itself had a slimy texture to it. The texture though did not affect the flavor. I guess if you were a dark meat fan it was not bad at all. The macaroni and cheese had a good flavor, but the consistency of the macaroni and cheese was already solidified and hard. The mashed potatoes were delicious. The gravy was also very good. My pineapple chiller drink was very tasty. I just wish that they offered it in a cup larger than a small. Later that night, I tried to do some research on their chicken There is nothing on what type of chicken they serve on their website. I later found a message board and found that they only serve dark meat and do not serve chicken breasts. It would've been nice if the lackadaisical worker behind the counter would've told me this. They do serve chicken tenders. I may have gone for that instead. I would not buy any means come back to this location. The location was already dirty and they've been open for less than a month. The sheer size of this place is no larger than a large bedroom. The claustrophobic nature of all of these people on top of everyone was not enjoyable. Also, waiting 40 minutes to get my food was also not something that I could do. The workers all seem like they were either out of it or high. I understand nobody wants to work this kind of job, but at least show some pride in your work. I give Jollibee in Bloomingdale a rating of 4 out of 10. All the workers are kids with no customer service training at all. They were swearing and horsing around even with the dining area full of waiting customers.
