This jollibee practically does whatever they want. Closes early because "of a meeting". Last time I check, service industry should facilitate meetings before or after business hours. Somehow they just pick random days to close early 8/29/2024 Drive thru is always close. This location is awful! I waited 40 mins on my lunch break all for them to tell me once I got up to order that the wait was an hour & 30 mins! So I figured I'd use the bathroom and go find something else to eat quickly only to see that there was not even a drop of soap in the bathroom. It's quite disgusting to think of the people handling your food just rinsing their hands with water then proceeding to handle food! The menu is subject to change at any given time, for any given reason. It's just how things are and the sooner you accept it, the sooner you can enjoy the food again. Lol. I went through the drive-thru a few weeks ago and made another large order. The only thing that was wrong was that my four giant, family sized containers of palabok were all missing one key ingredient - the shrimp. I mean, they've always been stingy with those sea bugs and only put like 6 at a time regardless if you order the single-serve size or the largest single-serve size. But zero shrimp is just insulting. The nerve. Oh! And they ran out of lemon juice so, obviously, I was entitled to rage - but I didn't. Jollibee has been good to me lately. Benefit of the doubt. So, yesterday I went inside the restaurant to order because I wanted to ask, in person, about the missing shrimp - but mostly because the drive-thru was closed. Anyway, turns out that shrimp is no longer served on the palabok because of the food allergy component. I mean, it makes sense. But dammit, I liked those little things. They really made a difference. I think it was a texture thing because the shrimp weren't all that great. But they were mine, damn you! Lol. Oh well. Now I know what to expect for the future. I'll adapt. For example, to this day I will not buy Jollibee unless I have at least one lemon at home just in case they run out of those juice packets - which happens. Oh! AAAAND they serve spicy fried chicken again - which I thought was being phased out. Maybe the demand for the spicy fried chicken was loud enough they they brought it back? I have been very excited to try Jolibee after hearing my Filipino friends RAVE about it. We wanted to try everything and got the Family Pack B (6pc chicken, large spag, and 3 peach mango pies), 4 yum burgers, palabok fiesta, and side of large mashed potatoes. Our faves were the spaghetti, chicken, and peach mango pies. The spaghetti has a slight sweetness to it, and chunks of tasty but unidentified meat mixed in the sauce. If you're a spaghetti purist, come into this with an open mind. The fried chicken wasn't anything crazy, but it was juicy, crispy, and flavorful. The peach mango pies are SO GOOD - they are deep fried and ridiculously crispy with a warm peach/mango center. If I had the patience to take these home and pair it with some vanilla ice cream I would...but alas I don't. The yum burgers were alright, quite heavy on the yum sauce (very pickle-y), but just an average cheeseburger. Mashed potatoes were also quite average, similar to that of KFC or Popeyes. The palabok consists of fine vermicelli noodles with a broth-tasting gelatinous sauce mixed in with small pieces chicharon (fried pig skin) - mix this while it's hot so the sauce won't congeal! This was alright, but was one of the lighter things we ordered. If I come back, it'll be for the spag and peach mango pies. Super clean, efficient, and homey!! read more

The place was pretty large inside. The staff were pretty friendly. The menu had a decent amount of choices but no white meat. That seemed pretty strange for a chicken place. I ordered two chicken pieces combo one with potatoes and the other with spaghetti. The order was pretty quick. I say less than Five minutes. The chicken was very tender and chicken outer batter was very tasty. My wife didn't like the potatoes.she said they tasted like Kentucky Fried Chicken. I thought the spaghetti was good kind of sweet. I could do without the hotdog slices. Sausage would have been better. The mango pie was good. It had the taste of McDonald's apple pie but a little bit better tasting. As an update to my review it appears that breakfast is no longer served at this. I'm glad I got to try it at least once. I've been back several times and service and quality has vastly improved. I'm very happy to be able to pull up to the drive through or order ahead for pickup without much hassle. Sometimes there is a wait for the spicy chicken when they need to fry a new batch but the 20 minutes will always be worth it. The staff at Jollibee are probably racist. I've noticed they show preferential treatment to certain customers while showing contempt toward African American customers. It's been my experience that after my initial visit my food orders consistently have been sabotaged, whether it's chicken drenched in oil, chicken not fully cooked or just plain food poisoning, it has become increasingly obvious why they hardly have any African American customers despite that fact that many AA ppl live in the area. Their chicken isn't even that good, just wanted it because I was craving something salty. But it's not worth the mystery of what ever they decide to do next to mess up my food. Oh this last visit they blocked off the drive thru forcing everyone to come inside and they methodically skipped my order in line forcing me to wait an excessive amount of time for nasty food. When I inquired at the counter, Abby was kind enough to check on our order. It seemed like our order had been skipped. Abby, who may have been the lead, was instructing the staff to fill orders as they came in. She apologized for the wait. Before leaving, we placed another order, and this time the food was served promptly. I finally made my way to the east valley to give Jollibee a try since I live pretty far from the one and only location in Arizona. I went on a Sunday around 12pm and it wasn't too busy and only had one person ordering in front of me. I did notice all of the tables were filled so maybe my timing was just impeccable! While the menu has a few staple items, they do a good job in offering the combinations of these items depending on what you're in the mood for. They optimized their menu well! Never having been to Jollibee, I opted for the spaghetti, two piece chicken combination. Of course, I needed to add an order of the peach mango pie since I've heard so many positive things about it. In total, these seemed to be the "popular items" from the research I've done. The total came out to 11 dollars and some change. When I got my order, the chicken was fresh and hot. The chicken was juicy and the skin was delectable. I'd go back just for the chicken alone if it's that fresh when I get it. The fried chicken comes with brown gravy. While it's a little salty, it has a hint of what I believe to be white pepper to give it a subtle kick. To balance out the salt, someone give me some rice so I can use up all the gravy! The spaghetti included hot dog and a sweet banana sauce. While it was edible, it's not for me. The peach mango pie...okay, now we're talking. The pie was a pocket of greatness! While it's appears to be comparable to McDonald's apple pies, it is not. The pastry was flaky and buttery. The filling was in great ratio, had excellent flavor and was just sweet enough for me. The establishment was clean, the staff was friendly and the wait time was as expected. While I wouldn't say they offer top notch food in terms of quality, they do what they do well and I respect that. It's a bit much for me to spend for the amount of food I got but I'm also okay paying more if what I'm getting is good and done well. So, while I would happy visit when I'm in the area, I wouldn't go out of my way to make a trip to Jollibee because of how far it is from me. Congratulations to Jollibee for opening up their first location in the valley. It is positive for the Filipino community here in Arizona as it brings together community and cultural awareness. As a Fil-Am (Filipino American), Jollibee is a reminder of the motherland. This humble establishment is built for busy bees (as the name implies), serving up fast food with a Filipino kick for the entire family. What makes Jollibee stand out is: 1. Its one of the few globally recognized Filipino establishments (originally from the Philippines). 2. Not only does it have fried chicken, they serve Filipino forward dishes like Filipino spaghetti, adobo rice, palabok (noodles), and peach mango pie! Having been to other ones around the country, as well as around the world, this place sits on the larger side with ample indoor outdoor seating and was quite crowded during the weekend with lots of families. Some sad news, they do not have spicy Chickenjoy, Halo Halo, or breakfast on the menu. Either way, they do have the basics, and we got: 1. Chickenjoy - crispy, crunchy. 2. Adobo rice - garlic forward, my alternative to fries. Good, because I didn't want to cook rice and garlic. 3. Peach mango pie - crispy shell with soft filling. Palabok (noodles) is my other go-to, will update next time I'm there. To drop some Filipino knowledge: -Filipino spaghetti: It was created during war time to feed American soldiers who were stationed in the Philippines and wanted a taste of home. They use a sweet tomato sauce with hot dog, ham bits or other meats to emulate meatballs. -Pancit Palabok: Seafood noodle dish with a shrimp based sauce. Jollibee will make you be jolly with their Chickenjoy! We got the "B" Bucket Treat (6pc. Chickenjoy, family pack of Jolly Spaghetti, and three peach mango pies), a Palabok Fiesta, a side of Adobo rice, and a pineapple drink. So how was it? The chicken was good. It was juicy and crispy and I loved how it didn't feel greasy at all. I'll be honest and admit that I didn't have high hopes with the Jolly Spaghetti. I'm fine with hot dogs on noodles because it's such an Asian thing but I wasn't sure about the sweet banana ketchup. It reminded me of Chef Boyardee and I definitely felt like Honey Boo Boo while eating it but I liked it well enough. The Palabok Fiesta was good though. Lots of flavors and textures going on and I would definitely order it again. The adobo rice was meh, the pineapple drink was eh, but the peach mango pie was good. I loved that it was deep-fried. It reminded me of when McDonald's use to deep-fry their apple pies. Tasty! Would I wait an hour for Jollibee? No way. Jollibee is a good chicken place but the hype is ridiculous. Jollibee is exactly as I remembered them. They continue to serve great Filipino style comfort food, of fried chicken and pasta. My favorite here ... is well, everything. But I particularly enjoyed their Deluxe Chicken Sandwich ($4.99). It is better than anything out there, with the exception of maybe Popeye's. In the past, I wasn't a fan of their Spaghetti ($4.99), but they have improved the sauce and it is much better now. Their sides include Corn, Adobo Rice, Steamed Rice and Mashed Potatoes with gravy. The gravy is delicious and can be a side itself for the Chicken Strips. If there is one weak item, I would say it was the strips. They're on the skinny side. That's right, your favorite little comic bee aside from Bumblebee Man on The Simpsons and the bee girl from that Blind Melon song has set its fuzzy little foot in Arizona. The menu doesn't have the full selection of items that other locations have (Where's the halo halo?) but don't let that deter you from trying out the rest of what they have to offer. Now, a very long time ago in a place far away (Vegas), I went to a Jollibee and tried what Bourdain had on his show, an aloha burger and halo halo. I was not impressed. Perhaps they were having an off day or that location wasn't that great. I was willing to give this chain another chance in a brand new location! We went midday in midweek and while there was a line it wasn't too long. We were up to the front in a few short minutes. The menu has burgers, fried chicken, noodles, and dessert. I wanted to try something different from my last experience so I went with the palabok fiesta and 1 piece chicken combo, along with a peach mango pie. I was handed a buzzer and it only took a few minutes for my order to be ready. The chicken was hot, fresh, and crispy. I opted for a thigh piece which was tender and juicy. The breading was alright. I liked the crunchiness of it but it did have a bit of a starchy aftertaste. I liked the palabok fiesta, which consisted of an ample amount of clear noodles with shrimp, ground meat, ground pork rinds, and egg slices in a tasty sauce. The peach mango pie was easily my favorite part of the meal. The outer dough was so crispy and flaky and the tropical flavor of mango with peach was a perfect sweetness with plenty of filling. It was definitely worth $1.99 and I'd get this again for sure. I washed everything down with a pineapple quencher which was very refreshing! The employees manning the dinning area did a really good job at keeping the tables clean as soon as someone left. The cashiers were friendly. I ordered a three piece chicken plate with mashed potatoes and sweet corn. The drink area was a little congested, since they only have one soda machine. The pineapple juice was delicious! Wait time was ridiculous at 3:30 PM in the afternoon. Line out the door. Recently opened, so I'm sure some people are still interested in the hype & what it has to offer. The menu is super generic and doesn't give a very appealing approach with what's photographed & advertised on their menu. Ordered just two pieces of fried chicken (no drink or a side) $5.38 total. Came with a small container of gravy. Asked for a side of ranch which they were out of. Got a honey mustard In place of it. They charge for side sauces and it comes in the same small container the gravy does 1/2 filled with dipping sauce. Not impressed- I have to say. It's similar to the other centuries old chain. The gravy and breading on the chicken were extremely salty! I'm sure I'll pay for that later too! Noticed at check out they pre- box the pasta ( with shredded yellow cheese on top? Ew ) and other main courses they promote & push too! The employees place & pull these meals under a heat lamp station near the front counter. Prepped ( I would assume) mainly for the "to go" orders! First time at Jollibee was in Cebu Philippines. I was excited to find they were coming to Gilbert. Just wish they were closer to Peoria. Was in the area around lunch time. Stopped on and was not disappointed. There was a line but someone was taking orders in the line. All moved quickly and soon I had my order. While in Cebu I had a burger. This time I had the chicken and spaghetti. Different but good. There is a lot on the menu. I can see I will need several trips to get to sample everything. Very glad they are in Arizona. The drive thru is blocked currently The food is the same as the ones I used to buy in NoCql. The service was fast. Even though there was no line, the whole room is packed and I had to stand to wait for my food. Supposedly, switching from coke to pineapple drink costs $0.50 more but they didn't charge me at all. Thanks goodness. The chicken was delicious, dipping in the turkey gravy and not ketchup. My favorite is always the peach mango pie and the fiesta noodles.
