My family went here for my dad's birthday dinner because he's enjoyed the other locations, but this dinner was the worst I've had in a while. There wasn't a single thing a group of 6 ordered that was cooked correctly and everything was bland. My family and I came here on a Monday night around 6:30pm and it wasn't busy at all. We sat down and it was still happy hour on beers, wine, and some appetizers. Their happy hour is one of the better ones because of the choices you get for the beer. So for our appetizer we had some spinach dip and it was excellent. Not sure why I keep giving this place a chance. I want to like it but... every visit the host is never friendly. Makes you feel they wish you would go somewhere else. Tonight my waiter had 9 tables yet every time I eat here there are many wait staff just standing around talking. At one time there were 6 employees standing at the hostess's stand. Appetizer came out at the same time as the food and salad. Fries were cold. Took us nearly 10 minutes to get someone to bring the check then we had to go find waiter to hand him the credit card. This is my first time toJonathan's Grill. I struggle with giving three or four star. I settled on FOUR STAR. Nice sports bar/restaurant atmosphere. Plenty of TV's. Now the food. I ordered the Cajun Sausage pasta. It was very good, pasta was cooked to my liking. The spicy cream sauce was very good. My displeasure was the sausage. It had a good flavor but was sliced very thin like the size of a quarter and if there was a total of 2 ounces of sausage total I would be surprised. For $ 15 I feel it should have at least one sausage link, like 6 oz, being sliced is fine. The waitress is very nice and helpful. I did mention to the waitress how I felt about the lack of sausage. Fun atmosphere and delicious food. We were a party of 18 and our server was amazing! Her name was Alia (sorry-not sure how it's spelled), and she was incredible. I wasn't too excited when my friends wanted to come here for happy hour. I'd had a few mediocre experience at the Bellevue location years ago and had no interest in going back. HOWEVER.... This location seems different! It's a newly built, large building with a large bar area and a few other separate rooms...all which have TVs and good service! The three of us shared 3 appetizers (all which were $6 for happy hour!! ). We ordered the pizza rolls, fried pickles (they're wedges not slices), and spinach and artichoke dip. They were tasty but pretty typical for a bar like this. They also had drink options for happy hour. I got 2-for-1 on draft beer. Most of their options were pretty standard but they did offer about 6 local/seasonal options. The beer was good but this is where my complaint lies...If I ordered 2-for-1 beer, I don't want both at the same time so one can come to room temp while I drink the other. My friends got some standard cocktails for a reduced price and they also had house wines for happy hour! Lots of good options! Overall, my bill was $12!! Why the hell is your grill shut off at 10:40 when you close at 12 and can only get fried food. I understand 30 min before close or maybe an hour but it's 10:40, might as well close the restaurant at 11 if that's how you operate. Our first time coming here tonight, asked for a cocktail menu and got a menu which had their liquors rather than drinks - which was brought to us after our first round of drinks we ordered. Although they weren't that great- too much ice, not mixed well. And not a whole lot. The pizza was amazing! We had the Cajun pepperoni and honestly I would order that for pick up again. Our appetizer was chicken wings- and they were sad chicken wings, for the price. Bite size wings 10 piece (one short with our order) and it was fairly expensive. We had two waiters, the first was a younger man, I think maybe he couldn't serve us because of the drinks? But the blonde female we had was very impersonal, she checked in once when it was time to literally get our check (wasn't even the one who brought our pizza to us). It's great that the business still operates during COVID-19. The food was excellent, talk about turn out time. The servers are quick to server with a full bar and are top notch. The food was excellent, and distinguished a very different taste than most sport bars. Deals deals deals.. However -- something has never quite turned my night like this. Our server was friendly, but she and the rest of the servers spent most of their time chatting in a circle (the restaurant was not overly busy at the time). Had heard good things about this place while before they opened up shop in front of new hotel. Not sure how many locations they have but I believe it is chain... Regardless I thought about everything I ordered 3x I have gone to Johnathan's has been EXCELLENT... which I rarely get to say about a chain so they are definitely doing things right. I can't say that I have tried more than handful of items, but I can say roasted Brussels sprouts are fantastic! Had the steak each time also and it was great, last time I would have liked it to be little less salty as it was heavily seasoned but I'm not sure exactly what component of prep they can change to prevent that... salads have been super good also, nothing too different about their mixed greens but dressing is amazing... my co-worker was very happy with her meal but she ordered about same thing I did, she also got pizza sticks? For later that she said were very good. Another friend I ate with here ordered fettuccine I believe and she was very happy with it but I remember the portion being ginormous, which is good if you like leftovers. Parking lot here has always been super packed... not really sure why they didn't make it larger as there is undeveloped vacant space around restaurant but people end up parking up sides of parking areas which can make maneuvering around tighter turns in lot sort of precarious... anyways, very happy with this place, totally delicious... read more

I regularly come here generally at least once a week for business lunches with a group of 4 or more, often on the weekends with my Family and for sport events. I used to recommend to everyone but lately things have changed. I think Jonathan's has some of the best Chicken Tenders in the area. They are available plain or tossed in Buffalo sauce. Both are great! I always get mine half tossed in Buffalo and Half plain. I can't take the buffalo sauce too well, but it's so good. The last 2 times I have brought groups here I was told the manager (Chelsi G.) will not let them do that anymore. The servers don't know why and have acknowledged it has made a lot of customers angry but she still will not let you do it. I am now taking my personal and company business elsewhere. Anyone know a good place in Hendersonville to watch the Titans play?. I miss the good old days of customer service and taking care of your good customers, but hey, if there is some sot of good reason for this, please let me know. I wouldn't mind paying more for the extra sauce or the additional time to separate 2 of the 4 tenders and shake them in a bowl. I usually tip well for great service and your servers do not think you are doing the right thing Chelsi. If you are burnt out on being a manager there are other options. Very underwhelming. Ordered queso for the appetizer to start. It came out lukewarm and tasted average, store bought. Husband ordered Nashville hot wings. No flavor, had to ask for more sauce. I ordered the French dip sandwich with onion rings. French dip, again, was just so so. The bread was hardly toasted, so it was soggy and falling apart before I was halfway through it. This location just opened this week. The service is extraordinary. The food is delicious. I had the blackened fish tacos sans the spicy ranch dressing...so good! Several beers on tap. Great happy hour options (especially on Tuesday). If you're looking for an adults only option, Jonathan's has it. The bar (separated by a wall) is 21+ and has a patio. I would say it's a little pricey... we ordered fried pickles and they only came with like 5 (very small) spears. Kinda disappointing for how expensive they were ($8 +tax). 2 patron shots were $25 and that was only what I paid for. My boyfriends bill was probably through the roof.. We each had 5-6 drinks.
