I came here for the first time last week. They had a last minute opening with a stylist. I arrived on time but we had to wait 20 min to get shampooed as the station was busy which was no problem by me but the stylist seemed stressed as he had a client right after me. My appointment was unfortunately very rushed, the shampoo part was messy and very rough. Afterwards the haircut was rushed and he used the shears very heavy handedly and while trimming my bangs, a chunk of my hair was sheared off which was not part of my bangs. The left side of my cut was uneven which I noticed at home. I let the woman at the front desk know about the incredibly rushed and rough service but not sure if that was taken up to anyone. I have to wait for that part of my hair to regrow out again. The stylist was nice and talented enough but being in a rushed appointment to finish before the next client really butchered my hair. read more

It's ironic that this service was the most I have ever paid for babylights in my entire life, because it was a complete nightmare. I am shocked that they would staff incompetency at this level with their prices. Beware! This took 2 additional appointments to fix and about 6 hours. Awful. And they failed to take responsibility, apologize in any way, or provide any refund. This cost me 3 Saturdays as a busy working mom, ~$400 for this initial disaster, and extremely damaged hair. read more

I had just moved to the Queen Creek area and I was looking for a new hairstylist. I typically get a trim and balayage with a light platinum undertone. I consulted Yelp for ideas and recommendations within my area. I called around and I decided on Jon Cen Phi Salon. I spoke to the receptionist and asked all of the necessary questions. I felt confident with our conversation and he recommended Vlora because she specializes in balayage. Upon arrival, I felt horrible and rude because I was on an important phone call that I couldn't cut short. Everyone at the salon was so relaxed and cool about it. Poor Vlora had to try to politely cut in when I wasn't actively talking or listening on this call to ask me how exactly I wanted my cut and color. I had brought references in to show her and since she specializes in balayage, she knew exactly what I meant. She asked me how I wanted my cut, my color, what shade I wanted and even how I wanted my hair trimmed. She really involved me in the process and made sure she knew exactly what I wanted since I was a first time customer. I wasn't too concerned about how light or dark it was, it was just during quarantine and it had been five months since I got my hair done so I just needed my hair to feel healthy again. She was very upfront about the pricing and we also had a really great conversation the entire time. She has a great personality, down to earth, easy to talk to you, and instantly makes you feel comfortable. She asked me if I wanted water, coffee, or tea and I asked for black coffee and water. They have a cute little drink menu when you first get there. Since I was a first time patron I did have to fill out a little bit of information for their records but it didn't take long at all. Parking is available outside since it is located within a plaza. You shouldn't have any trouble finding a parking spot. Prices are moderate to high considering these are well trained professionals. After she did my color, she brought over this heat lamp so I didn't have to move, that was the first time I had experienced that and it was pretty cool. It doesn't take me long to lift for my color so we did a wash, scalp massage, condition, and toner for about 20 minutes then I got back to the seat for my trim. She did a full blowout plus curled my hair so I left with beautiful, bouncy wavy/curly, commercial hair. But before I left we did a little photo shoot outside, please see the photos attached. It was so much fun. I felt like a rockstar. They came to $250, altogether but it was way worth it and I will definitely stick with Vlora and JCP now that I have moved to the QC area. read more

I struggled to find a hair stylist that cut and highlighted my hair like I like (I have A LOT of hair), and when I discovered Maddie, she knew exactly what to do to fix my previous bad hair cut/color. I've been coming here for awhile now because Maddie continues to do a great job on my cuts and my highlights. My daughter comes too and sees Lauren and loves the cuts Lauren has provided. She even went for a drastic change and got a pixie cut recently and it turned out so cute. Lauren gave her exactly what she was looking for. Unfortunately, I would recommend not using this salon. Being new to the area, I brought my daughter and myself here for services. When we arrived, for me to have a keratin treatment and highlight/cut, and my daughter to have a highlight/cut, we were looking at $1k. I cut the highlight portion of my service (despite desperately needing it), so that we wouldn't have to just leave, and was still left with a nearly $700 with tip. On top of this, my daughter's hair looked terrible. The highlight looked very sub-par, and it was a partial, but did not extend past the line of the previous one and looked terrible. We were told they would fix it in 2 weeks time frame. Nope. They found ways to try to charge more. I think you are best to just avoid this over-priced business with under trained stylists, making up for non-returning customers by jacking up their prices. read more

I love this salon! These Hair Designers are very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I get my hair cut with either Reign or Timaree (depending on availability) and they handle my hair with care each visit. I wear my hair naturally and curly and they understand how to cut my hair in a way that adds body and volume to my curls and my curls always grow out well blended. updating my review! Joncen reached out to me right away to come back and fix my hair to my satisfaction. I came in today and Vlora was able to give me hair I love which I haven't had in years! She's very knowledgeable in what she does and I felt comfortable letting her do her thing. My last stylist also came and apologized and we agreed it was just a misunderstanding which I appreciated and understood. Mistakes and misunderstandings happen but that doesn't mean one is bad at their job. This salon is filled with very kind and sweet people so I'm happy I came back and gave them a second chance! They really care about making their clients happy and satisfied and that's hard to find nowadays. She introduced me to a hair mask and I am obsessed with how soft my hair is now. I love her attitude and she told me straight up that she would rather cut my hair 7 times and get it perfect then do just one cut. spent the last year getting my hair done at this salon and it was my treat to myself every few months . So I decided to treat my mom for a day ! She had never been a "real" salon . She was taken advantage of to the fullest by her stylist who did not go over anything and put whatever he wanted in her hair and the price shock at the end really shook me to my core ! Yes it was completely outrageous for highlights but the lack of transparency and taking full advantage of my mom being new to the salon world . She was booked for highlights and a haircut . Everything else was tagged on without her knowledge or discussion to ensure it was within a good price range . My hair was 270 and took hours longer and my mom has short hair !Joncen doesn't care , he really doesn't he is making a killing off people by misleading prices when you book online and then the tactic of leaving a review for a "free " hair mask in return . I called and they were only willing to refund me 75 dollars which they are mailing me since they don't do refunds . They will do a nice job and the vibe is stuffy! People are just walking dollars signs and they have a demographic they are catering to so be careful ;) read more

I have always been to Joncen Phi since the beginning. Like I said back in February 2016, I am always impressed with his work, yet even more. From his old location to his new and innovative salon, his skills has been through the roofs. To start off, he recently opened up his NEW salon back in July. Everything about the premise was divine in terms of aesthetics, staff, and cleanliness. With fresh new faces, I felt even more welcomed knowing that everyone there greeted me. With all the pleasant and uplifting personalities, his staff are strongly trained to create masterpieces on every client. I have made a comment prior to this review about how my hair is very difficult and does not seem to properly function in a way I want to it to be styled, but Joncen strives to never give up on my hair and fully turns it into a work of art. He inevitably does stick to his motto "I don't do hair, I make love to hair." I have recommended his work to many of my friends, and even my haircuts. When my girls always show me their new look, I always have to feel the silkiness of their hair knowingly shown from the shine. They're awful with blondes. I went in to try and get a cute and subtle light strawberry blonde, the color I went in with was closer to the color I actually wanted. I had a consultation and showed so many pictures of light blonde. I left the salon with blonde bangs, reddish brown hair, and red roots. She took 5 hours and charged $580. When I kept asking why it was so dark she was like just trust me. At the end of the visit I asked if she could make it lighter then she was like no that's what happens when you add more red to the hair. I've never had a salon taken so long on my hair or charged so much. The change should have been so easy considering how close my hair was already to what I wanted. I left the salon with a hair color that no one would ever go in to a salon hoping they'd leave with. I'll post a picture of the color I asked for, color I went in with, and colors I walked out with. You'll be able to see the weird red roots and blonde bangs with brown hair. No one would ever see this and say wow that's strawberry blonde or wow I'm going to a salon and want that. I tried so so so hard to like it and the girl kept saying she'd try and fix it but when I wanted it lighter she said no, and five hours is a really long time, and $580 is a crazy expensive amount. I tried so hard to like it but when I was waiting for my ride I had to leave the salon because I started to cry my eyes out. They practice on your hair and then charge you an insane amount for it. Don't go here :( I never write reviews but the result is so ugly and surprising and expensive and sad. read more
