The irrigation piping on the outside of the house was leaking. I turned off the water to my house. The plumber came and said he would have to come back tomorrow. That was $160.00. He came back the next day and reconfigured the piping. It doesn't fit well into the space now. He left telling me to turn the water on after 3 hours. Something on the pipe had to dry. That was $629.00. The next morning I turned the water on there was still a leak and the water pressure was very low. I called Jones Plumbing they said they would send him back out. He was an hour and a half late, fixed the pressure, but said he didn't touch the part of the irrigation that was leaking and he would come out again for an additional charge. I asked if they come to fix a leak don't they make sure all the piping in the general area is not leaking? He said he would have to talk to the office and they would call me. That was 3 days ago. They advertise they are seniors helping seniors. I don't think so. read more

Absolutely substandard service, unprofessional, and unreliable. Jones Plumbing, Jones Service, was hired by my apartment management to fix water pipes damaged under the slab. The apartment manager, completely great guy called to tell me work was going to be done in my unit. I was assured then would lay down plastic or paper to walk on as I had just washed my rugs, which really tied the room together. When I arrived home, the black suit I have in my closet had drywall dust on the shoulders. When I asked who was responsible for that, each technician/employee said "not me" or "I don't know". They left a whole in the wall and didn't bother to close it, the perfect entry point for rats and insects. The next day, they left my door unlocked and ajar while they worked in the unit behind me. Computers, firearms, documents, anything in my home could have been taken with no one the wiser for hours. When I brought these issues up, they whined and huffed, said they would not finish the work they started, and left. They also used my plastic food storage containers to catch leaking water as they worked, then left it on the counters I had cleaned only 2 days prior. You've been warned, so avoid these guys if you work hard for your money. Zero stars if possible, big ol' "F" on the grading scale. read more

We discovered a slab leak on Thursday and called Glenn since we had experience with his excellent service while our property was a rental a few years ago. He was at our house that day. He sent a crew to survey the required re-pipe repair on Friday. Since they would be returning to complete the job on Monday, we asked to keep water usage over the weekend. Jones "Service," a new definition of "lousy." They seem to have a reputation for not keeping appointments, but for us they did show up - 3.5 hours early, a very inconvenient and unexpected time for us. We asked that they return at the agreed-upon appointed time and they simply said they couldn't. Our problem was a dishwasher that would not drain completely - perhaps a clogged drain? We won't learn from them though, because they didn't even look at the issue but simply said "if it's draining at all then it's the dishwasher and we don't work on appliances." Period. The visit was all of three minutes. Postscript, I read below that Jones said he called first - he absolutely did NOT. Lastly, That "free" service/estimate he was to provide us was a coupon he handed out at our mobile homeowner association meeting. When some months later, he came to the house our mistake was showing him the coupon prior to him providing the work - in my estimation, he saw that and was out-of-there! read more

I run a maintenance company with over 1200 properties. We have used Jones Plumbing for our Main Outside Plumbing vendor for over ten years. You can pay more and you can pay less, but with Jones what you pay will always be fair, and most importantly the diagnostic and work will be correct. Could not have been better. From the initial phone call when the dispatcher put us through to Thomas, everything about the operation was quick, smooth, thoughtful, and professional. He said he was finishing up and could be over within the hour. He was. I tried and failed to fix it myself beforehand. Thomas not only cleared the clogged drain but fixed my mistakes. The guys did a great job earlier this year installing a new water line to my new refrigerator: no more ice cube trays for me! Recently my unused guest bath started sharing an unpleasant odor...I called Jones and instead of coming over and charging me for a service call, he advised filling and emptying the sinks and tub as it was likely the airtrap dried out from lack of use. I give them a 3 star rating because they have yet to be on time. I called and left a voice message on a Thursday evening to schedule an appointment. I did not hear from them the next day so I called them again on Friday evening. I spoke to a lady and explained what I needed done and she told me that a plumber would call me that evening with a quote. I didn't get a phone call. I called again Monday and the lady explained that she had lost my information and appologized profusely. I scheduled an appointment for the following Friday to have the work done. I was told he would be there between 3 PM and 4PM. I called him at 4 PM and was told that they got stuck on a job and was told that he (the plumber) was on his way from Oceanside. ( l live in San Marcos). When he got there, he worked quickly and efficiently. He installed my faucet and my garbage disposal. He had to do some re-routing of my drain lines under the kitchen sink and did a great job. When he looked at my bathroom, he needed an additional part and scheduled for the following Monday at 3 PM. Well, you guessed it, at 3:45 I called him to see what was the problem and this lady told me that he was stuck on a job and would be at least another 45 minutes. About an hour later, the plumber showed up (one of his associates). And he did not have the part necessary and was not told he needed the part. So he had to re-schedule for the next morning. Tuesday, he came and finished the repairs on the bathroom sink. As I said earlier, his work was excellent, but he couldn't get there on time. I re-sceduled my day to accommodate him, and he couldn't take the time to call me and let me know he was running late. If you don't mind being kept on hold for a couple of hours after the appointment time, this company is great. Otherwise, he gets the 3 stars for not showing up on time or even near on time. I am not really sure if I will use this company again. To the owner I have to say that a simple phone call around the appointment time letting your customer know that you are running late would be greatly appreciated by at least me. read more

Next a very nice man scheduled and appointment for me. I felt very comfortable with him. The man who came to my house obviously had experience. Were very efficient at fixing 2 leaks during one service call, even driving to get a needed part, and then made an appointment another day for roto rooting for our third problem. The roto rooter was a second pair of eyes and figured out that roto rooting was unnecessary and my slow drain was a result of small pipes in my house relative to the speed at which my clothes washer discharges water. Didn't charge for the roto rooting, appreciate they didn't charge me unnecessarily for that! read more

I was looking for a plumber to help me with my leaky water heater in an apartment building. I needed someone to come out quickly. I looked online and found Jones Plumbing and Heating. I called them out first thing on a Monday morning and they were there before noon. They fixed the water heater that was leaking and also fixed some other leaks that they found and lit a pilot light in my furnace heater. They were very helpful, hardly charged me anything and were honest(which is hard to find these days). Glenn Jones Plumbing is a great company. They did some work for me this fall after a leak led to water damage and the need to redo my half bath. Its a small company and the loyalty and teamwork shows. They were dependable, honest and capable, installing a vanity, sink, toilet, and light fixture. In fact, the owner himself came out in January and at no charge inspected my heater, changed the filter, reset the thermostat and reassured me that it was safe but old. He gave me options including wait and see, repair as needed, replace if its in my budget - while another company had charged me $100, condemned the same heater unnecessarily and left me freezing with a huge electric bill for the entire month of December, while simultaneously trying to sell me a $6,000 Heat/AC system. Glenn Jones price for a comparable new heater was $1700 but he understood if I couldn't afford that right now. Glenn Jones will be my go to plumber forever due to my experience. read more

Jones service did two jobs for me. They installed a new sink with disposal and under sink plumbing, and a new water heater. Both jobs done within one day of my request, and the work was very good.
