They are thieves .I been I there few times I bought feta cheese the other day almost 18$ when I took it out of my fridge and took the seal off smelled like a dead animal so I went to the store and try to exchange it the lady there who is the owner claimed she can't do anything cause she just works there (liar)and basically ignored me and called ma. Some things I just cant stand, and one of them is being charged a percentage fee (4% here) when using a credit card. You are a merchant, be thankful for the business, and be willing to pay the cc fee like 99% of businesses. They have a sign stating this and it really irked me. Prices already going sky high for groceries, now this nonsense tacked on. When a card is used, the 4% is automatically applied to each individual item you purchase. Just hate this petty shit. So a $3.99 item shows up as $4.15, and so on. Probably wont be back, and will ask wife to buy similar armenian/turkish groceries from some other place. read more

There has not been one time I have came here and the wife has not been rude to me. Always has attitude and sass to throw your way. If you do not look Persian or you look a little white washed you will be glared at up and down. Never get this treatment at the Persian market at Balboa. Small, dirty, beat up store. You have to say hi to them they do not say hi to you. This attitude will only push people away and you will lose good business. Used to be 5 stars - my local Armenian / Mediterranean grocery shop. New owners are not Armenian and everything has changed, including the fresh baked goods and friendly service that used to be there. Very sad. read more

Great and good variety of products and foods. I like their TUKAS tomato paste, sour cherry preserves, and their grape leaves so I can make more stuffed dolma. So glad they still carry Turkish products and don't participate in political propagandas and discrimination. read more

I've been a customer for years. Always loved supporting small businesses. Unfortunately, the new owners lack customer service and practice unsanitary methods. The quality has completely deteriorated. On my last visit, I actually told them there was expired dairy in the fridge; the young gentleman, I believe is the owners son, yelled at me (and had no mask). I was shocked at such behavior. Produce is being handled without gloves, employees don't wear masks, and products are stale, old, or expired. Buyers need to really check the packages. Although... I've also noticed "repacking" .... which is fraudulent. The business is being run by young, rude, unsanitary people. I've also heard similar complaints and comments from others that use to shop there and no longer do. They have lost my business indefinitely. What a shame. read more

I have lived in Gh for close to 4 years now and the lack of decent middle eastern/Armenian grocery stores has me driving to Burbank and Glendale to do my shopping and come back. Today I visited Araz to cross it off my list from local ethnic stores like victory produce, hovik's, the international market in TJ center, etc. This store was equally disappointing. The store is barely stocked - half-empty produce and snack shelves, almost nonexisting deli - 2-3 kinds, a stick of each sitting on the dark bottom shelf of the fridge, stale bread and list can go on. The ONLY thing they have plentiful is middle eastern canned and jarred goods that are it. The lady at the front took a personal call and was on it the entire time I was in the store and she checked 3 customers out while talking on the phone and not even acknowledging the customers. I felt bad to just walk out and grabbed a few items from packaged foods like buckwheat and yogurt drinks but I for SURE will never be coming back. Also the entire store had a funky smell and the floors were filthy soooo..ya.. i go back to Burbank tomorrow... read more

We arrived 15 minutes prior to their closing time and technically they are still operational until it's officially closed for the day. When we walked in we were greeted with just a stare and not even a single genuine hello by the older gentleman. As I was browsing the meat section the younger gentleman starts shutting off the lights in the fridge and covering them up as I was looking at the products. I understand that they're eager to close the store on time but we were willing to spend money and make them some business after all. We ended up spending around $20, felt rushed and not welcomed there. That was our first and last time in that store. read more

Some friends stop by one day and took me to this place they are Middle Eastern and wanted to pick up a few things because they didn't want to drive to the bigger busier grocery store so I've been stopping at ARAZ International grocery for the past few years as a convenience to a bigger market even though their prices on somethings are more expensive their products are not always as fresh but if you're only interested in one or two things it's convenient but if you're not Middle Eastern when you walk in the door they look you up and down your made to feel like you're not wanted from the husband especially but the wife every once in a while for this point alone I will not be going there any longer I will not be discriminated against and there's nothing really fancy or big deal about their place just convenience read more

I love this market! They have everything. Most of their products come from different countries and you can get so many unusual items that you can't find at the regular market. They have kosher items and items that are hormone free. They have fresh produce. I love to buy my meat here too. If you're looking for unique, original, hard to find products this is your store! Taste of childhood ~ they had a label on one of the products, and they where right. Sweets, pastries, fruits reminded me of my grandmothers cooking. Friendly helpful staff, clean environment, organized shelfs over all made a very pleasant experience. I have been a customer of this store for the past 15+ years and never had any issues until the recent ownership change. When I visited this store the last few times, I noticed a few employees (owner and his uncle) were not wearing masks and the uncle was actually coughing on shelves, grocery items and deli items without a mask and without covering his mouth. When I brought this to store owner's attention during my last visit, he immediately started screaming at me and asked me to get the F _ _ K out of his store, told me he did not have anything to sell me and used all kinds of profanity including calling me names. I have never been treated this way by anyone or a business owner especially by a very young store owner! I have already filed a complaint against the business for violation of state and county health orders as well as possible ADA violations with the Department of Justice. I will not shop at this place ever again, after spending hundreds of dollars a week at this store for the past 15+ years, as I don't think any business owner reserves the right to treat their customers this way! I certainly suggest everyone who shops at this store to think twice before continuing to give them their business! read more

If you want high quality and fresh products, this is the right place. There are other middle eastern stores closer to my location, but I prefer driving a little more but get the best products. The owners are always nice and friendly, and if you ask a question about a product that you do not know how it is , or how it might tase they explain the true answer and do not give false info just for selling the product . Where do I begin... absolutely Heaven of a small, one stop shop, grocery store. Wide variety of produce, groceries, and delicatessens. The deli guys work hard and even offered me a slice to try before actually packing my meats. The cashier and the baggers were extremely friendly, blessing me to have a nice day and to stay safe. The sweetest couple that own the Armenian grocery store. They always greet you with a smile. The workers all are respectful. Products are fresh and delivered daily, and set up neatly. What else can one ask for? The prices are reasonable for the quality you purchase. I tried other places people told me about but you can't compare quality. Araz International Grocery is a very small, Armenian grocery across the street from Granada High School. Parking can be a pain on the weekends (although there is a lot in the back as well), but that does not detract from the goodness within the store. Being an Armenian-oriented grocery, Araz has an excellent selection of the two major staples of my peeps diet-- cheese and olives. They boast several varieties of feta, but the choice selection is the Syrian cheese, which is both shiny and chewy. The olives, regardless of breed, are generally large and nicely marinated. Also, the medjool dates are quire tasty. These generally come in large, low-priced packages. I also suggest the fruit rolls, which are not your garden variety grocery store brand. No, the fruit rolls at Araz are usually made from apricot and come in a long, thick sheet that you must cut into sticky slices before eating. The store also has an excellent selection of tea and baked goods. My favorite are the doughnut holes (I can't remember the Armenian name) drenched in honey. After one, I start to twitch like Beavis when he's Cornholio. On my last trip to the shop, I noticed that they now sell Mashti Malone ice cream sandwiches, which I need to try soon. read more
