We were invited this past Saturday by a percussionist friend to go to the Soraya, the music venue at CSUN, to see YAMATO, the Taiko drumming group that travels all over the world. The show was great. The show ended about 5:30pm. As we were going up the Reseda Blvd. to the freeway I noticed Bangluck. As we cook on occasion Thai type dishes at home such as Pad Thai, Tom Kha Gai and some curry dishes, we pulled in. New Bangluck is one of the best markets I've been to that has all the necessary ingredients readily available for all the recipes we make. Their galangal, Thai basil and lemon grass are outstanding in quality, and they have good quality fish sauces. They also have a busy fresh poultry and fish area. Small jars of preserved /fermented cabbage were found. Various palm sugars are available. Many of their prices are significantly lower than Ranch 99 or other Asian/ Japanese/Chinese markets. The store is clean. Staff polite and helpful. Lots of free parking in back. They have a Hollywood branch I was told.

Outside of the market. Careful walking in the front of the entrance, the pavement is uneven with cracks!

New Bangluck Market was a Thai specialty market in the past. Under new ownership am not sure what it's become; it was barely stocked. Workers are helpful and nice, unfortunately there was hardly anything interesting or fresh enough for me to buy here. It's an older market which I don't mind, but again low on inventory. I will say the market has here and there mix Southeast Asian products and if you live in the West valley in SFV then this place is as good as it gets.

    Deep fried shrimp, yummy!

I love this Supermarket. They have everything an Asian would need. They stock very well. Best fried fish (and shrimps) to take home and eat with rice! The service is good, just have to know and manage your expectations. Make sure you get your fish on the butcher top so that you would be served next. Don't wait for service at the fish side, only do that on the meat side but remember who you are behind and be loud if it's your turn. The store is fixing some stuff on the inside, but it's clean and straight forward. I've been shopping here for years and for many more to come.

As an Vietnamese Americans in the San Fernando valley, this place feels like home. There's Asian item that you can't really find anywhere in the San Fernando valley. The employees are super nice and friendly. Even when something is out of stock they try to accommodate me and my needs. And the best part they have the original red bull bottle up for sale

4 colors beans dessert with coconut cream.

Love this place. Staff is friendly. This review is for the dessert showed. This is my second time it happened to me. On time I left in the my fridge for 3 days, got spoiled. This time I just purchased yesterday. And it smell like spoiled dessert . I don't know why they don't put a time stamp on those desserts. Allowing the consumer know how long it been seating on the store shelves.

Getting all the ingredients we need to cook vietnamese dishes

As a Vietnamese American living in the San Fernando Valley, this market is a gem. I love cooking Vietnamese food and I'm only able to find certain ingredients (certain herbs, brown chicken, pandan, meat bones) at this market. And the prices are cheap too! I'm always able to find parking in the back. I'm the weekends there are street vendors in the parking lot, but so plenty of parking. The service at the meat section is good. They'll let me pick the exact piece I'd like and they can cut or slice the meat as well. I especially come here to get beef bones, Filet mignon, oxtail, pork belly, brown chicken, duck eggs, fish, and shrimp. The produce is fresh and I come for the herbs and Asian veggies that I can't get anywhere else in SFV. I also get fish sauce, soy sauce, and chili sauce here. Though the Galleria and Ranch 99 carry these, they charge more than Bangluck does. Though this place is small and looks old, things are clean. Tip: occasionally things do sell out at the end of the day, so I recommend going earlier in the day.

    Mushroom is mold

This New Bangluck Market is terrible. They sell all the bad and old product I bought a mushroom is mold I have to throw is away and it happened many times don't ever go here if you don't want to get sick!

They also have some of the softest, most delicious pita I've tried. Part of the excitement in coming to an international market like this is getting a chance to try all kinds of foods you haven't before. I brought my bf here for the first time recently and he marveled over all the frozen appetizers. Additionally, I've gotten sugar-free chickpea cookies here that I would easily buy again. I decided to go check it out for myself. What a find. First of all, it's not one store. It's a little international mini mall. And every single one of the merchants stores is occupied. There is a watch in time piece store. There's an international gift store. There's a dry cleaners and shoe repair. There's a kosher meat store. And I'm not sure what all else but it wasn't just a location for a grocery store. And then I walked into the grocery store and Man was I impressed. The store was laid out beautifully in a very old-school fashion where you could see all the cans in the aisles. The store proudly displayed seafood sign. Meat sign. And fresh vegetables. It was very easy to navigate the aisles as they were not overcrowded with promotional merchandise like most grocery stores. The other thing I like about this stores that you could actually touch the produce. Reminiscent of what you could do before grocery store started wrapping everything in plastic And on top of that I got three porterhouse steaks for $41. That is crazy cheap. This might be the first time I've come to the store in person but it's not gonna be the last.

Whenever I go down to the Los Angeles area to visit family I always make it a must to get some quality Jewish and/or Israeli food! Unfortunately our options for both are limited up in Northern California, but Angelenos are spoiled with their plethora of options in this space! I hadn't been to Super Sal Market in years! Probably since I had lived in the L.A. area 10 or so years ago. Super Sal is located in the South San Fernando Valley (Encino to be exact) on Ventura and White Oak. It is a Kosher/ Jewish grocery store that has a wide array of Jewish/Kosher/Israeli products! I was in the need for some Israeli spices to bring back to my wife so I knew I had to hit Super Sal up! When you walk in you're automatically amazed at how many Israeli products they've imported! Anything and everything from cereals, shampoos, cutlery, and even ice cream!!! (Seriously, someone tell me how that works?? Wouldn't it melt on the way over here?) You honestly feel like you're in Israel! They also have freshly baked breads, a deli section, and a wide variety of Sephardic foods too! I'm not as familiar with Sephardic Jewish food so it always intrigues me to see new goods I didn't know about before! Even if you're not Jewish or Israeli, a visit to Super Sal Market is still a fantastic cultural experience getting to see all the meats, foods, imported items, and more! I give Super Sal 4 out of 5 stars because they are a little expensive (which I get because a lot of their products are imported or difficult to find). And I wish their floors were a little cleaner. But at a time when antisemitism and Jew hatred is high in America it's important to support Jewish shop owners. In a nutshell, if you're in the San Fernando Valley and are looking for Jewish, Kosher, or Israeli products, hit up Super Sal for a unique shopping experience!
