They made a horrible experience worse. My niece was involved in a roll over crash and CHP called for this tow company to move the vehicle. The driver was impatient, rude, and extremely inconsiderate considering what my niece had just experienced. Their rates are criminal- they charge a flat fee for the first hour and additional for every minute after that. The driver didn't tell us how much our total was until after he parked the car which then sent us in a panic because he said we only had until a specific time before the amount would go up again. We had minutes left at this point... We tried to pay with a debit card and it was declined TWICE even though there were more than enough funds available to cover the cost. I believe this was done on purpose so we'd go past the specified time and they could charge us more. We ended up paying in cash but were told the time would continue to accumulate if we waited for him to get change for us. Basically, we ended up over paying just to avoid having them charge us more. If you have a choice, please don't give them your business. read more

These people are a joke! We went to pickup my dad's work van from their location (moving our belongings with to a new apartment) and they said you need the registered owner to pick the car up or you may pay a few hundred bucks extra to take the work van without the consent of the owner. I was very confused to how these people operate this business. Additionally, they are very very unwelcoming. We went to pickup the work van immediately after we found out it was not there. So we went to where Jon's Towing is located (this was around 6:30 pm). We arrive at this location and there is no office or anything of that sort. The way we were talking to them was hilarious. It was as if you were in prison. It was a large metal door and there was a square cutout where they could open it. So we called them to talk to the people that were there and they opened that little cube cutout area and 2 minutes into the conversation and they are like "You know we don't have to talk with you right now, we could just close the door on you because you are not the registered owner". Well, my dad's boss knows that the work van is always with my dad and all my dad's belongings are in there. On top of that, our home keys were in the work van. We asked them to hand our keys, only our keys, just to open our door to go home and they said "126 dollars just to remove property". Moral of the story is, avoid this place, period. read more

If I can give them less than 1 star I would. Somebody parked at my parking space at my place. The car's owner is nowhere to be found. I had to call this company as recommended by our bldg owner. I arrived 630 from work exhausted only to find out someone's car is enjoying my spot. It's already 9:02 nobody showed up. The guy who took my call was rude and unprofessional. What a ghetto racket business. My mother was involved in a major freeway collision on the front and the car was taken away by Jon's Towing to their Sun Valley location. The car was badly damaged on the front and was not drivable. Insurance refused to help because this collision was not covered. We decided to dispose the car and get whatever salvage value I can get out of it. Since I could not simply visit them and drive off the lot, I was scrambling to find ways to remove and dispose the car as soon as possible. But the car ended up staying there over the weekend, and they close on weekends. Yet, they charged their daily rates to include the weekend. They even filed lien papers with the state for me to receive a threatening letter and charged me for it. I ended up paying $598. They aren't even at their desks to help most of the time when I visited. I shouldn't have to suffer this much when the reason for the towing is a car accident, not an illegal parking. read more

I'm surprised by these bad reviews!! I got into a pretty bad accident. I hit a big rig on a freeway, front end was completely done. I called Jon's towing who was the closest. Within 15 minutes, a guy came and he was really nice. He did his job he was very professionally and fast we were off the freeway in minutes In addition, I left my iphone in the tow truck, and the guy didn't steal it. Do not use this company. They damaged my transmission my car does not go into drive. They claim the car was already damaged which is BS. Video shows the car driving forward into the parking stall. 3-4 hours later the car is towed brought to the tow yard. We pick it up put it into DRIVE and nothing only can reverse. Why would we pick up the vehicle in the first place if we knew the car would not go into drive. It took them 8 business days just to review the incident report. Poor communication and dont no what they are doing. I had my cars towed several times from other companies and have never been in this situation with a bunch of liars. The tow truck driver even broke the piece of the middle console. But Ohhhh we did that it was already broken. I believe in KARMA. read more

I am writing a review as a property manager, and as someone that unfortunately has to authorize tows from my HOA communities from time to time. I read through some of the negative reviews, and most of them are simply disgruntled folks that were on the unfortunate end of having their vehicles towed. I can't imagine that is a good experience, but these guys are there to do a job, and they do it well. Recently, I had a vehicle on one of my properties that was inoperable, and being used as a living space for a drug addict that was terrifying the rest of the residents. I called Jon's Towing as I have used them before in the past, and they were very responsive in making sure that I had everything in place in order to legally tow this car from the property. Once everything was in order, they showed at the scheduled time and removed the car from the property. It was not an easy extraction either as the car was parked in a tandem spot, tight in between two other parked cars. After about 45 minutes of backing in, backing out, unhooking and hooking back up, the driver was able to get the car out. I was extremely impressed as I thought for sure there was going to be damage to the other vehicles parked so closely. To my surprise, there were no damages, and the car was removed as needed. I highly recommend Jon's Towing to anyone that needs to have a car towed for any reason. read more

I got my car towed by Jons Towing totally my fault I was in a hurry and Parked in someone's spot at my friends apartment building, when I came out several hours later my car was gone. I called them up it was at about 2am the guy who answers the phone was so sweet I was mad and stressed out and didn't know what to do or if I could even get my car out at this time, this guy I wish I can remember his name calmed me down stayed on the phone with me and assured me that my car was ok and everything is gonna be ok he said they were closed already but he was to dispatch a driver to come and help me to get my car back no matter what time it was, he also told me that I can pay by Visa or MasterCard or cash thank got I had I had some cash on me but not enough so I used my visa debit card to pay when I got there, the driver that helped me was also amazing so nice I wasn't expecting such nice professional people from a towing company they're truly amazing. Now I can't say I was happy about my car being towed I was furious but like I said it was my fault and the guys at Jon's tow made it so easy. I have an old car that I'm restoring. It was at a storage facility in Burbank and I needed it to get towed to my mechanic in East LA. I called a bunch of places in East LA but nobody wanted to drive to Burbank and back, so I called Jon's since it's in the Valley and they said no problem. According to the person I spoke with, their company does "patrolling ""of the parking structure almost every other night , all hours of the night, claiming the building management told them to do it, bullshit,the management denied the whole thing. These people are Liars! I have never experienced this in my life and hope to never again have to deal with them. I would have given a ZERO if I could have. My car was towed from my own complex that I live in. My permit had fallen from the rear view, either from me rushing or the door shutting- still in plain sight though- and I had still been towed---now that part is not their fault, it's my own security officer's fault. So after much arguing with said security officer, he said that if I take a picture of the permit in my car at the towing place and if whoever brought my car out to me when I got it out would fax a statement saying that the permit was in the car before I got it back, then my apartment complex would reimburse me. So AFTER the girl drove my car out to me, I took a picture of my permit and I asked her if she would write the statement and she said yes, but she has to have permission from her boss, the owner. After a week and a half of me calling every day, multiple times a day, trying to get the owner to talk to me but giving me the run around and avoiding me- he finally tells my security officer that I went out to my car and opened it up before I paid and placed the permit in my car to LOOK like it had fallen, and then they gave me my car back---we all know that's not how towing companies work. They wouldn't even let me go look for my own registration in my car. They wouldn't let me anywhere near it til I paid them and they drove it out to me! The owner of this company is a flat out LIAR and is such a scum bag. I even told him that under normal circumstances I wouldn't care so much, but that I haven't been home in a year because of money problems and that was most my plane ticket money I had saved up (which is the absolute truth)-- his response: I don't care. ----the money wasn't even going to come out of his pocket, he just doesn't want to lose business with Cabrini Villas (which he wouldn't!) I just cant believe he would flat out lie. And the girl can't go ahead and write the statement because he would probably fire her. What a bunch of douches! "My worst clients are Armenians" were the words that came out of this scums mouth when I called asking for my vehicle to be released on a Saturday morn. I went to pick up my car and the fools have the Armenian flag colors as their logo on the front of the gate .. oh and You have an "after hours" $90 charge but yet you can't release a vehicle after hours??? (meaning sat-sunday) ummm doesn't make sense. We use these fools in 3 of our medical buildings that I help manage so the first thing I'm doing Monday is canceling our account with them. This place needs to be closed down for good. I had my car towed and when I went to pick it up this morning they had ripped the tires and damaged the rims on my 2016 M3. When I advised them that I need to file an incident report the office manager laughed at me and said "if you can't afford the car don't drive it." First of all who in a customer service position is ever allowed to speak to anyone in that way. After I filled the report he refused to give me a copy and tried to rip up my report and trash it. He refused to show me paperwork of which tow truck towed my car and laughed from behind the glass window. Once I got the BBB on the phone then the manager gave me a copy of the incident report and then quickly went into the back office refusing to help anyone else in the lobby until I left. Needless to say this place is the worst tow yard I have ever dealt with. Not only did they cause thousands of dollars of damage they had the nerve to tell me what I can and can't afford. read more

My daughter was involved in a car accident on Interstate 5 on July 11, 2017. CHP recommended that we use Jon's towing to remove the vehicle for safety reasons instead of waiting for our insurance roadside assist which was a big mistake. After contacting a gentleman by the name of Jon Gaboudian who answered the phone, we were told that the overnight storage would only be $20 dollars a day. No invoice or price sheet was ever given to my daughter to inform her of how much the tow charge and overnight storage charge would be. My insurance Company conducted a 3-Way call with the same gentleman and he listed his price of the storage to 3 times the charge that he quoted to us over the phone. Lesson learned here is never let CHP recommend that you move your vehicle with any other towing company except your own insurance or AAA provider. These guys are dishonest people who will lie and change their prices whenever they feel like it. This company needs to be shut down for dishonest business practices. I will be writing a letter to the Better Business Bureau, CHP, and our Insurance Company to advise them of how we were treated and lied to. Stay away from this business or if you have to deal with them make sure that you record all conversations and video record all interactions with these people so that they can be held accountable for their dishonest business practices. read more

I understand that this a towing company . I know you need to be tough and make money regardless of what the scenario may be . This is the first time any of my vehicles have been towed and the funny part is that it wasn't supposed to be towed . My landlord called for them to pick up different car and they ended up taking mine as well . How is it possible that you are hired to work for my building but don't even give my manager the power to tell you it was a mistake ????? They would not even give me a discount after she asked . The money is not the issue , I just think its unfair that there isn't any sense of kind gestures . I work 6 days a week early morning till late at night and having to pay an additional fee every day that goes by because i am not able to adjust my schedule to come pick MY vehicle back up is crazy . I hope that one day the employee's and staff there is put in a scenario like mine so they understand my frustration . All i wanted was someone to understand me and where i was coming from . I am very happy with Johns Towing! I work for a small business as a dispatcher. On Friday 01/02/15 one of our team workers parked their car in front of a clients house blocking their driveway (which was wrong to begin with) the customer called us yelling and screening saying she has to pick up her kids from school and our workers are blocking her drive way and the car would not turn on. Eventually come to realize that the car engine has stopped working and the only way to move the car is by towing it. We Contacted Johns towing around 1:15PM, at 1:42PM the car was already loaded up on the tow truck and was moved from the drive way. Thank you Johns towing, you guys have saved the day I highly recommend them. The price was very reasonable compared to other tow truck companies we have contacted that day. worst towing company!!! i had to wait all day to get a response from them. found my car missing from my own parking spot at around 6:30 am and was not able to pick it up until 4:30 pm right before they closed because they had no idea what i was talking about. every time i called i was put on hold and never got a clear response as to why it was towed. i had to pay for it to be released. no one gave me their name over the phone and kept transferring me to different people. they took about 10 cars from the building i live in and acted like they didn't know from where or what we were talking about. we drove to their office and still had to wait another hour. they like to rip you off and do not care what the situation is. read more

If I could give a lower review I would. The area/complex I live in works exclusively with Jon's Towing because in the past we have had a high number of "outsiders" taking up the very limited parking we have. I have never had to interact with anyone working for the company until today. I forgot to put the parking tag on my mirror (it was in the open compartment on the dash) so I ran down to show him that I have a tag and that it was in the car. He was so unbelievably rude. I have never had to deal with anyone in my life that rude. He called me a lair and said I "just put that there" when I showed him my tag and then laughed at me for standing there waiting for him to put my car down. Had the tag not been in the car at all I would have understood him towing it and had he not been so rude I certainly would not be writing this review. I certainly hope out community board will re-think keeping a contract with a company that allows it's people to be so disrespectful to the people they work with. read more

Jon's Towing saved the day for us. Our FL-60 Freightliner was PIT maneuvered by a hit and run driver on the 210 and, after bouncing around across all lanes of traffic and hitting the sound wall, unable to be towed by conventional means. We got it off the freeway (dented up with bent axle and broken tie rod) to a CHP parking lot (closest place to put it) and began our quest to get it towed. Anyone with a lowboy was "busy" and telling me they could not get out until maybe Sunday or Monday. I spent all day Saturday in the parking lot with the truck trying to get it out of there. As the sun was setting, somebody finally referred me to Jon's. After giving my hard luck story, somebody was there in an hour. They got us towed to their yard for safekeeping until they could deliver to our repair shop on Monday morning. We even met Jon himself when the driver called him out to assist with getting a truck that wanted to drive sideways up onto the trailer. Nice guy! Great crew!
