I purchased my first fur coat at an antique store, it was an immaculate shape but I didn't know what kind of fur it was. The furrer was able to tell me what type of animal it was and around what time period! They cleaned up the coat and sewed the back piece up where I had made a cut to see if it was real. I have a favorite piece of clothing and it is my leather jacket. Last fall I really needed to get it redyed and cleaned but I just couldn't part with it for 6 weeks so I waited for the winter to be over. I am glad I did because I got it back in 2 weeks and it looks amazing. I am so impressed with the care Jonval had for my jacket and didn't try to sell me something new. They send it away to another restoring company but take great care making sure everything is going right. The next leather jacket I buy will be from them as well. I have been paying 50 dollar a year for a coat that has been in there over 3-4 years. I paid this in full for winter storage. My cape comes with a tie/ scarf so they decided to charge me again for this. So it was fifty dollars to get my stuff out of storage. Funny how the prices change . Charged me double. Rolled in with an old WW2 leather jacket that needed some repairs, a new lining, and new cuffs. Took about a week (was done right on time) and was amazing work. They even redid the inner pocket at no charge. The work is seriously top notch. I wear the jacket a few times a week and always am stoked when I put it on. The staff was awesome and communicative. I acquired a beat up vintage leather coat on a summer trip to Paris and poked around the metro area to find a place that could clean it up while retaining its patina and replace the sleeve lining/do some minor patching. I was also considering having it altered. All roads led here, and so I trekked over on a Friday morning right after they opened. The clerk took my battered coat with elan and talked through their in-house cleaning process vs. shipping it out to a facility that strips and re-dye's the leather. As it was just musty and wanted to keep that patina, we went for the local option. As I tried it on to demonstrate the fit, he said that any alterations that could be done were so small that it was not really worth it. So there are two opportunities to push up-sells on me past - bonus for that. Alas, the psychadelic vintage tattered sleeve linings really needed to go and he said the alterations fellow was a big fan of muted linings, so they did not have any comparable fun linings. He said I could bring in my own fabric if I wanted to, but I only had the car for the day and live pretty far, so I passed for now - will reserve the option for the future! The other minor button replacements etc he tossed in for free. He tallied me up and said it would be due in about two weeks depending on work flow, and it was done 17 days later, as promised and at the price quoted. All in all a very solid experience - I only wish I could have had funner linings at this point, but that is something I can resolve in the future. Well worth the trek if you have the time and the dime. read more

After taking a treasured shearling coat to two other leather repair shops only to be turned away-one shop told me to buy a new coat-I tried one last place thankfully. Jonval did a fantastic job repairing a gnarly hole caused by a hangar. And buttonholes were repaired well too! In addition, I had a patch sewn onto my new flight jacket. I had a very expensive, fabulous Dolce & Gabbana leather handbag with cowhide trim that wore off (typical for a real hide). I was determined to save the bag and ultimately ended up at Jonval. They brought out samples of leather and skins that could be used for replacement, so I was able to make my selection. They replaced the worn pieces of hide and did a perfect job! Stitches are straight and unless someone is familiar with the bag, the change would never be noticed. It cost me $90 to save a $2,800 bag, and was well worth it. Mister tried on a beautiful leather jacket and we bought it. $500 vs. the $1200 we typically pay for a Gimos. They tailored it and it was ready in 3 days. Great experience. It's unfortunate that I have to leave one star because none would be more appropriate. After having two of my coats since last spring they delivered them on friday with hems ripped out. Obviously they did not check these coats and now I'm wondering if they were even stored properly because they are shedding. I had a full length black mink coat that was too large. I took the coat to Jonval to have it re-made into a stroller and vest. Jon and his helper were extremely accommodating and very pleasant to work with. Both the stroller and the vest turned out amazing. They are very form fitting. Jon really listens to what you want, and they go out of their way to make it happen. Couldn't be more pleased with the results. My wife and I have purchased three coats from Jonval and have had three others repaired or altered. All of the work that they have done is First Rate. The staff has always been very helpful and informative. Their leather coats are a bit pricey, but when you compare the quality with a lesser cost coat from Macys or Nordstroms you will immediately appreciate the difference. I know, because I purchased one from Macys before going to Jonval, and I'm sorry that I did. The Macys coat is serviceable, while the Jonval coat is a delight to wear and I receive many compliments and questions about where I purchased it. read more

I went to JONVAL to have an alterations (sleeves length & width) done for my gorgeous silver fox coat that I happily bought in Ebay. The Ebay seller posted over 20pictures to show all the details of the fur coat that I bought. JONVAL, charged me about $300 for the alteration service. I was completely fine with it since, I really need to have this alterations done. When I picked up my coat, JONVAL "stole" the fur under my wide collar of my coat. JONVAL, replaced my fur under my collar with a used cheap leather with pen marks all over. I believed that they will use my stolen fur to make a hat and sell it to their store. WHAT AN ASS!!! YOU WILL GET YOUR OWN KARMA! I WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE EVER AGAIN!!! AND I WILL CONTINUE BLOGGING HOW AWFUL THEIR PEOPLE & SERVICE!!! read more

My experience with this business was awesome. I had gained weight and my beloved Ranch mink coat was snug and I couldn't button it. A good friend of mine had referred me to Jonval Leathers & Furs. I took my coat to them to look at it with hopes that fur could be added to the coat to enlarge it. This is exactly what they were able to do as well as redesign my cuffs and make improvements to the area under my arms. The price that I was quoted was reasonable. I had a beautiful, full-length mink coat that was too large, and in need of a style update. There are very few furriers throughout the country, but luckily, Jonval was one located in Denver. I took my fur to Jonval and requested that it be made into two coats, a stroller and a vest. The furriers at Jonval are very professional. I had pictures that I had taken from the internet to show them what I wanted the finished products to look like which helped. They took my measurements, then proceeded to explain the process by which my coat would be disassembled and remade. They even took me to the back room where they did the work, and showed me the stages of various fur coats that they were working on. I felt comfortable that my coat was in safe hands. Because my fur was a large project, I knew it would take time. They started with the stroller. I went in for a canvas fitting, then went in again for another fitting once the stroller was assembled, but not yet lined so they could make further adjustments as needed. The finished product exceeded my expectations! They really listened to what I told them about how I wanted my stroller to fit. In addition, the work quality is top-notch, and they stuck to their quoted price. I am thrilled that I now have a fur coat that I can wear more often! I can't wait to get my vest now! read more
