I had to change my dentist because they no longer carried my insurance and I was not working in Seattle so a special trip to the dentist was getting a bit old. I did some research and found Dr. Kae and so far have been impressed with his office staff, Jessica went above and beyond to help me before I even came in with my insurance changes, and Dr. Kae himself who was friendly and easy to talk with. He even suggested that a procedure my other doctor thought was necessary may not be that urgent allowing me to focus on a current dental issue. He offered three options to the new dental issue and said we would reconnect post his getting my x-rays and info from my past dentist to determine the best plan of attack. So far so good and I hope the relationships continues as I like not having to battle the traffic to Seattle! read more

He refused to see me after I told him I didn't want X-rays. He was rude and so was his technician. I don't recommend doctors who think they can dictate to you treatment. He is terrible. read more

I had a great experience with the hygienists and Doctor Kae, but not with the front desk staff. I got charged $50 for a no show appointment, when I absolutely didn't forget or no show. I cancelled an appointment for Monday morning, on SATURDAY morning due to my daughter being sick. I didn't want to risk it that she wouldn't be better by Monday and my friend who was going to watch her during my appointment was also sick, so even if my daughter had gotten better by Monday I might not have been able to figure out an alternate sitter by then. I thought, well I better cancel to be safe. My daughter was still in-fact sick, BTW. When I left the message to cancel I heard for the first time that they have a 24hour "business day," cancellation policy. Which I was surprised by. I checked the website and it says, 24 hours notice only. So if it's 24 hour business days, I would technically have had to have canceled on Friday morning. What parent of small children during cold and flu season, can predict Friday morning if they'll need to cancel a Monday appointment. A 24 hour cancellation policy is totally reasonable and standard, but if they have this particular policy, they need to make sure that everyone with a Monday appointment, especially with small kids, knows this, so they can never make a Monday appointment! Or if people don't know, give them one opportunity to make the "mistake" and inform them. BUT the real kicker and why I'm so upset, is when I followed up with Dr Kae he told me that the front desk makes exceptions for people with sick kids, but also strangely a minute later that it wouldn't be fair to not charge me the $50 because of all the people who pay it, when they forget their appointments. I was confused, but I had said my peace and explained that I hadn't forgotten, so I let it go. Then I get a message from him that the front desk will still have to charge me. I call the front desk for, "clarification and questions," and she essentially told me that I didn't tell them that my daughter was sick only that the caregiver was sick so that they had to charge me. Of course I'm not talking to the same person I was talking to Monday (when they called me to reschedule), about my sick kid. I said that's not true, it's that both of them are sick, but regardless my daughter was sick, did I not emphasize that enough? Both my husband and I are disappointed. We have been great patients there and happy with our dental experience, but I think this was horrible costumer service. We have literally spent thousands of dollars there in the last few years and never been late or missed appointments. You would think they would want our business. Even IF the receptionist didn't hear me say my daughter was sick, this doesn't seem like the right response, but I'm sure she did. Saying two people are sick doesn't make the first person, not sick. I'm honestly baffled. read more

Dr. Kae and his staff are first rate. I was referred to Dr. Kae when I needed an emergency root canal. I had never had one done and it is hard to make it an easy process. But his office got me in quickly and took care of it as well as a long overdue crown. Dr. Kae is very attentive and listens to you so you understand everything before he even begins to work. I had never been to the former location but his office on California Street is bright and airy and they have all kinds of modern equipment. They even have an x-ray gun that is mobile and the rinse water is warmed. Those might sound like little things, but they are really nice when you have so much work to be done. We had a little misunderstanding (mutal) of insurance coverage. However, Lisa at the front desk worked with me to make sure I was happy with the solution. It isn't the ability to avoid mistakes, but how you recover from them. I am quite pleased with Dr. Kae and would recommend him to anyone, even those that might be fearful of the dentist. I've had some bad experiences with dentists in the past and am very glad to have found one that is talented and caring as well. Go see Dr. Kae. read more

Eek! Methinks not. Is a COMPLETE understatement. Went just a few weeks ago to Dr. Joon and his front office staff was undesireable to say the least! A lady named Charity, I think it was answered the phone than put me on hold to talk to somone else named Ashley because she couldn't answer me in the first place. Do they even know what they are talking about?? Ever since the previous office manager left in early Feb. I have had the worst experiences with Dr. Joon Kae's staff! I first went in on a coworkers recommendation, and ever since I've had nothing but good experiences at Dr. Kae's office. I think half the office ended up becoming patients! I waited until I'd moved away to write a review, so it would still be easy to get an appointment :-). So to be honest, I missed my first appointment, bad move I know. Just bought a house in the neighborhood and needed to find a new dentist for the family and got my super busy schedule mixed up. I walked in an hour 1/2 late expecting to meet my new family dentist but I come to found out I goofed and missed it. I explained my situation and asked to reschedule but despite my apologetic explanation, they wouldn't let me reschedule and said they didn't want my business! Pretty brazen if you ask me. What do they think they are, some exclusive night club? Anyways, lucky for me there's plenty of options on California to establish our new family dentist. So I walked down a block and scheduled with another office. Worked out as it's actually closer to my house than Kae. If they're busy enough to casually brush off new customers (potentially for life) I have no problem taking my business elsewhere. Probably a decent place but I look at their response to me as a pompous disregard for their customers. read more

I hadn't been to the dentist for years because of my anxiety. Knowing I needed dental work, I found Dr. Kae based on reviews from multiple resources. He is very thorough, gentle, and patient with me and my dental insecurities. I fully trust the decisions he makes and am confident he is exceptional at his field. I highly recommend Kae Dental if you are searching for a dentist. I have been a patient of Dr. Kae's for about a year now. I have had 2 cleanings and 1 filling in that time. It has all been a great experience with him and his staff. That is a slight miracle for me to say because I have had many dental procedures over the years and am not the easiest mouth to work with; previously I would get very anxious about going to the dentist but that is not the case anymore. Dr. Kae takes time to explain, answer questions and really listens - he even took my thoughts into consideration when he recommended something I wasn't comfortable with and we came to a really great compromise. He also makes you feel at ease by just talking with you and getting to know you, nothing ever feels rushed. I truly appreciate the way the whole office works efficiently as a team and thoroughly takes care of you from check-in to cleaning/procedure to payment/billing. Now I'm one that is quite frightened of dentists, probably because of past experiences, but I believe that I've found a dentist that I'll keep for years! Writing reviews really aren't my thing but after my visit with Dr. Kae I had to share what an absolute amazing dentist he is! The staff are warm and polite. My first appointment was scheduled with the office manager, Lisa who is extremely friendly and professional. They are a very busy office and there is a waiting list even to get an appointment... so even after I had to reschedule my appointment she was so nice she even emailed me a confirmation as well as I received a call the day prior from her even when I admit I forgot what time it was for! Once I was in the dental chair my nerves were already calmed, I met Dr. Kae who is awesome and down to earth which helped me relax even more. the hygeinist was pretty cool too! I recommend everyone to see this guy! No wonder he rates #1 on this review site! read more

Just had my appointment this morning -- my third with Dr. Kae's office since I moved to Seattle. Great dentist. Dawna, my hygienist, is awesome, too. The check-ups and cleanings are thorough, the equipment/techniques are first-rate, and the entire staff is pleasant. I haven't had any work done, though, so I can't speak to more than just the general check-ups and cleanings. Oh, and I've never had to wait more than a couple minutes in the waiting room. read more

I hadn't been to the dentist in years, after an awful experience with a dentist who called me stupid for not wanting a cosmetic procedure and then doing it anyway when he was working in my mouth. He actually charged me for it too. So I had avoided dentists and haven't trusted them to focus on health issues, rather than cosmetic ones. After finally deciding that I should go, I chose Dr. Kae from these yelp reviews and during my appointment actually thought "I love this dentist." Not only was he friendly and respectful, he didn't try to convince me to have anything cosmetic done. I have a gap between my two front teeth that doesn't bother me, but every other dentist I've seen has wanted to close it. I also have some chipped teeth, but instead of trying to get me to fill those, Dr. Kae said that if they didn't hurt we'd just keep an eye on them. His practice was not gratuitous and not a front for cosmetic dentistry, which I greatly appreciate and makes me feel like I can trust him. My insurance is changing, but I'll go back to Dr. Kae next time even if my new insurance doesn't cover him. read more
