First time at Jorvans Micheladas and it definitely won't be the last. The aguachile micheladas were amazing--seriously one of the best micheladas I've had. We also ordered the asada nachos, shrimp tacos, and fish tacos, and everything was so good. The owner was super welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. We actually got there right when they opened at 11am and ended up staying until about 4pm just hanging out, eating, and enjoying the drinks. By the time we left the place was packed, so clearly a lot of people know how good this spot is. Great food, great micheladas, and great vibe. Highly recommend checking it out. read more

Came out to Jorvans in a Friday and I was surprised with not a long wait to get inside. It is first come first serve, we waited about 25 min for a party off 4 adults and two kids. They did mention no kids after 9pm which worked for us since the previous location was no kids. Live banda, fresh drinks, and good vibes! We ordered two micheladas, two flights, agua chile and chicken tenders for the kids. It's not too loud either. I will say it does get quite hot though, but overall a great experience . read more

I was craving a shrimp coctel and figured what better place to go than Jorvans! We got two micheladas con agua chile, & skirt steak tacos. Whenever I think of skirt steak I think tough. But Jorvans asada tacos were juicy, flavorful, and soft. The coctel was so fresh and service was A1. Jorvans is always so welcoming a g greets his customers and gets to know them. Very homely. My friends have been telling me about Jorvans Micheladas for a while now and I finally tried it for myself. We went for a birthday celebration and it was on one of Jor girls night, it was so much fun. The service was super attentive and quick, dj played all great music, and the drinks were good. Ordered a Paloma and servers were walking around handing out pink shots in celebration of Girls Night. I loved it, the only minor issue was no real dance floor, but you could dance in your area where your table is. One women's and mens restroom available but bc it was only women customers both are open for use of course. The ambience is simple but the energy was full of life. Hidden gem. It's basically a speak easy connected to & located behind el catrín bar. The drinks are pricey but picture perfect. The nachos paired very well with the michelada. The Michelada is super refreshing and the aguachile was really good. I tried the flight as well and it was more of a mixed drink vibe but also yummy if you want variety and don't really like beer. My husband surprised me by bringing our group to this place I'd been wanting to try - what a happy coincidence! While the drinks were absolutely delicious (I can see why this spot is popular). Disappointed to overhear an El Catrín bartender complaining about Jorvan's customers 'taking parking spaces and hurting their business.' Unprofessional to criticize neighboring patrons publicly. That said, still enjoyed Jorvan's offerings despite the uncomfortable moment next door. On a positive note, I'm excited to hear the owner will be opening his own dedicated location soon. Based on the great of cocktails here and music , I have no doubt his new location will thrive. We went in the morning as soon as it opened and they were really quick with their service and really attentive. Local authentic hispanic spot. If your older than 21 and order drinks , first shot of tamarind smirnoff is on them. We ordered the new fish tacos, and the presentation was beautiful, the salsas were great. The chipotle mayo was so good. I prefer my fish to be fried on the softer side and it was! So tasty. We also ordered the house aguachile. The shrimp tasted fresh and was set on a bed of tostitos salsa verde. And finally the micheladas! My favorite micheladas in san jose! I hear they have live music on the weekends so if you dont like banda i would recommend skipping the live music as it can get loud. But if banda and eating is your thing! Dont miss it. They also recently had a ladys night, i did not go but it looked like a cool concept! I recommend the drinks. I really like the micheladas. Lately, I would not recommend the aguachile. They have recently been coming out with raw shrimp. You can tell it was not marinated or soaked in lemon to cook a bit. Last time I had to take my plate home to do it myself. It does get very packed. Fair warning. Go early. read more

Cool atmosphere. You can come by have a drink with friends and it will be a great time, but as soon as you get hungry I recommend leaving and getting food elsewhere. My food was extremely salty. It looks as if it was marinated for days it's completely dyed brown from sitting and it has no flavor just pure saltiness. Also I couldn't even finish my food and it's very upsetting considering my food was on the more expensive side. Me, my girl friend and friends all had the same experience.
