Horrible customer service in the Milford, CT location. My son's wedding is 4 days away and only 3 of the 10 suits rented fit! Why even get measurements. Manager on shift (Alissa) was rude and kept walking away to help other people. She told us their tailor is way behind and there was nothing they could do. She passed us off to a young man, Nathan who did his best to rectify the situation. I would give only him a 5 star review. I asked for store manager's name and contact number. She picked up her phone, started texting and the told me Ebi would be calling the store. I waited 45 minutes and NO call! She did her best to avoid me so I left. They are understaffed, untrained, and unprofessional. Just an awful experience regardless of the amount of money paid. Definitely makes a black cloud over such a joyous occasion. Would never recommend this business to anyone. Hopefully this can all be rectified in the next few days no thanks to Alissa!! read more

We are so happy with our experience here. Sandy was so sweet and her service was outstanding. She gave amazing advice and accommodated our last minute needs. She never made us feel like we were a burden- even when we switched around some options as we were deciding. She gave us space to decide and helped when we were totally lost. The rental selection was great- lots of black, blues, a couple grays, and one awesome evergreen color. The price was perfect. Not too expensive especially with the current promotion. I was hesitant to go here because of the bad reviews. But when I walked in the sales person Robin was amazing. Professional, friendly, helpful. I wanted a suit for a wedding. I need big and tall so she measured me and 30 mins later I got a suit that was cheaper than the rental for the wedding. I could not have been more happy with the process. Now the actual suit will be in in about 10 days so my fingers are crossed. But thank you Robin for a great experience. I will be back as long as she is my salesperson. read more

Don't waste your time going here! Went to Jos A Bank to get a suit for my son in high school. Salesman/tailor in the back of the store wasn't welcoming, didn't say hello and when I said I needed a suit for my son he said "when do you need it for?" with an attitude. Then he said at least 3 weeks. He then proceeded to say without measuring him we don't have his size. He measures my son to confirm his thought prior to actually measuring him which he says 34 and refers us to H&M or Express. So we go to a department store knowing there is "No tailor" but went to try on the jacket size the Jos A Bank tailor measured and confirmed 34. Well the Jos A Bank tailor flunked measurement school. Jacket was too snug athletic fit, short or regular size. He was a 36 regular. Bought 2 suits and a dress shirt. Jos A Bank had 36 regular, so the rudeness and incompetence lost a sale and a potential long time customer. Couldn't be bothered to give a hello - or a goodbye, for that matter - this afternoon. The store wasn't even crowded, and we spent about 10 minutes figuring out the layout of suits and trying to get our bearings in the layout. Even tried on a few jackets, and no one seemed to care. Sure, give us some time to peruse, but for a potential purchase of this magnitude, you should know your audience. There seems to be a good sale going on right now. Suites are decent for the price, but the customer service is poor! Understaffed and the wait for to get measured is long. Spend over 1hr and 25 mins in the store today just to be told the suit we wanted was out of stock. We were told that we were the next customer in line only to be jumped in line by 3-4 other customer who came in after us. We literally wasted time on our day off to try and by a our first suit for my son prom. My suggestion is if it is your son's first suit for a special occasion spend a little more money and go somewhere else for better customer service. What an awful experience. I live in fairfield CT a town which has a Jos A Bank. I would highly recommend traveling the 20 minutes to the J.O.B. in Milford CT instead of Fairfield. Much better customer service experience. Robyn helped us in Milford and we purchased a few articles of clothing there. read more

Overall experience was disappointing to say the least. When I first got sized for my rental suit, the computer system was down and had to wait an extensive amount of time for them to get the system up and running to enter my sizing. The suit did arrive on time and was sized somewhat well, but when I put the suit on for wedding day, it was discovered that the left buckle for the suspenders was broken and was pinned in place by a safety pin. Yes, Jos A Bank sent me suspenders with a safety pin in the place of a buckle. It should be noted the buckle was silver and very noticeable against the black suspenders. The photographer instantly noticed the difference without me saying a word. This somewhat minor detail ruined wedding photographs we hoped to take. Unacceptable. When I went to return the suit the computers were again down. I waited for over an hour and they still did not work. I finally asked the manager if I could leave the suit and he could complete the return whenever the computers came back up. He took down my credit card information and assured me I would be issued a small refund. (A nice gesture, but the 25 dollars is not even close to covering the inconvenience caused). Well it's not been over two weeks and I've received no refund. If I could give zero stars I would. I will not be returning anytime soon. read more

I can't even begin to explain how poor a job this location did. I had a suit fitted for my brother's wedding, and I felt like I was swimming in it. The jacket was completely wrong. Chest too big, shoulders too big, sleeves WAY too small. The waist on the pants is at least an inch and half too large, the legs are tailored all wrong, and don't even get me started on their recommendation for a belt. I've never worn it on any sizing besides the absolute tightest it can go. The shirt was so oversized that I had to go to target and get a better fitted shirt for the wedding. Thats just how bad it was. Even when I recommended a tighter fit, I was met with blowback. I'm unsure the gentleman that did my suit, but I can positively say that this is NOT the place to go for your fitting or tailoring. Its worth mentioning that my experience was a couple of months ago, so perhaps they have shed their dead weight by now. But I just can't recommend this place to anyone. Go elsewhere. read more

I work in NY, but live in CT, and was just in Milford(CT) today running errands, and thought I would go to the Milford store and purchase a few shirts. And honestly, I would say the service was poor, but one would then assume that there was service at all. Both the salespeople there were waiting on customers when I came in, so I waited patiently, and watched while multiple customers walked in, and were continuously pointed in the direction of what they were looking for, while I was passed by over and over like I was a mannequin. This was the 2nd time this had happened, at JoS A. BANK, as I had a similar experience at their Stamford(CT) store years ago and thought I'd give them another shot at my business. No 3 strike rule here, I'm done. I strongly suggest Charles Tyrwhitt, or Brooks Bros., they actually act like they WANT your business ! read more

Terrible experience when we bought suits for a wedding. Staff is somewhat rude and they can't seem to get ANYTHING right the first time. They forgot to order a jacket, their solution - "we have a smaller size here that we can tailor for you for $100 extra"!?! They told one member of the wedding party that he needed to purchase a shirt and belt with the suit (never part of the order). They told me my suit would be ready Saturday. I said I'll pick it up the following Monday. When I got there I was told it wasn't ready come back after 5pm. No one in our party will ever buy anything from the Milford store again. read more

This was the worst purchasing experience I have had in years. We went there to rent tuxes. The staff seemed uninterested and appeared to lack competence. We left knowing that we needed to recontact them to finalize the order. I called daily for four consecutive days, each time being told they were busy, put on hold for extended periods of time, and eventually being told that they would call me back. These conversations included Steve, supposedly the manager. No one ever called back. When I called to cancel the order, I spoke to Steve, and there was nothing about my interaction that suggested that he took my complaint seriously. Eventually, we went to Men's Wearhouse in Hamden and realized how the process of could be handled with professionalism and competence. I encourage anyone reading this to stay clear of this store. read more

It took forever to get my suit and when I received it there were wrinkles all over the suit it looked like it had been sitting on the bottom of a pile. Went suit shopping on Labor Day Monday with my 9 year old son. Stood in the store for five minutes before anyone deemed my presence worthy of their concern. A young man, no more than 25 came over, and immediately determined that my time in his store was a waste of his. Gave me the standard salesman speech patter, which at 41 years old, I find to be annoying and pretentious. Another salesman than loudly asked who's kid was sitting by himself and reading. Always seeking to break the ice, I said he belonged to me. The other salesman than said that another customer had once left his kid in their store. Thanks for making me feel like a crap parent because I was looking at suits without my attention firmly fixated on my kid. Neither salesman made any effort to truly help me find a suit (first time shopping for a new suit in many many many years) that would make me look good and feel good. I then went down the street to Men's Warehouse and had the complete opposite experience. Don't shop at this Jos. A. Bank, they're not worth your time or money. read more

Store manager & stylist Extraordinaire, Victor, was fantastic. I called in with my measurements in advance, and when I arrived, he had laid out about 5 different Tuxedos for me to try on. He went out of his way to create a unique look (suspenders and long tie) which will help me stand out in the crowd. The onsite tailor came out and measured me for a truly custom fit. I went in, and ordered a suit that was not in stock, it came in wrong size. It took them 2 weeks for them to ship the 2nd order to the wrong address. The 3rd time they shipped it, it came way later then they PERSONALY PROMISED. I was told by Steve the manager I would get a "call back very soon" every time we spoke (at least 5 times) and every single time no call came, I had to call him the day after every single time. Steve was rude, and seemed to disregard my concerns. Getting a $250 suit should not take several trips to the store, hours on hold, speaking to 3-4 different people, and waiting a month. read more
