The new owners (who also own Fresh Chile Company and Rio Grande Winery) have taken Josephina's to a whole new level. Still the best posole in town, still fresh made dishes and now Ice Box beers and a wine tasting room!! It would be the perfect place for a family gathering, corporate event or big group of friends to enjoy the afternoon. The patio here is mostly covered and lovely (heaters for a cool night). And yes, NIGHT. The new owners have extended the hours into the evening so you can enjoy the beautiful Mesilla plaza and then a bite to eat and a glass of wine. This place was good before but seriously, Randy and his family and crew have made this a GO TO place in Mesilla. It's a beautiful location and a friendly wait staff and the food is just wonderful. (Even though their burgers are not my fav in town). But since I discovered how GREAT it is, I get the posole anyway...so, it's all good. They have added a little market place where they sell their salsas and wine and bbq sauces. Don't forget to grab some for your kitchen and friends.

I'm glad that I got to try this restaurant one time before they closed to the public. Now their website says they will only be catering to corporate events and events for special occasions. I was going to try the winery that owns the restaurant before but this business has lost my interest. Meh, underwhelming. There's all kinds of other great restaurants to visit anyway. I have to wonder if this is going to be another historic relic like ao many places around here. I'll go hang out at 28 instead.

Patio seating on a lovely day! The wait for an outdoor table was about 10 minutes which was not bad. I wanted to eat healthy so I ordered the ham and green chile quiche with a side of potatoes. This was beyond my expectations, it was so good! I would definitely order again. The service was fast and friendly. Live music on a Sunday was icing on the cake.

This is a GEM of a place. Ambiance and service (Bioncia) were excellent!! Felt like a little get away and it helped that the food was great!

First and probably only Yelp review because Josefina's was too yummy not to share it with others. Their owner was so nice, our waiter even brought a heater to our table cause the one near us was out of fuel . We felt really cared for. We got the brisket tacos special and it was amazing. Always a lovely time any time I have gone with great memories. Thank you!

Inconsistency is the best word. My friends ordered a dish that was great (the quiche), mine was mediocre and small (so mediocre that I don't remember what it was). The place kind of felt like an old person's house and like you were sitting at one of 4 dining tables in the living room. I don't know if that charming or odd.

    The patio is lovely!

Tasty food. Service was disappointing...ordering was definitively an imposition to our server.

Best destination for a Saturday morning bike ride to have coffee with friends on the patio. Lunch or dinner would be good too.

Terrible service. There are plenty of other yummy restaurants around the plaza, try them instead of this one.

You can also order loaves of bread to go, and I absolutely recommend getting the Green Chile Cheddar loaf - amazing! Based on reviews, I ordered the breakfast enchiladas with brisket. That brisket was tender and flavored perfectly. I also stole a bite off my bestie's plate of steak fingers - mind blowingly delicious. In fact The Shed was so good, we went back for a repeat meal the next day. I ordered a slice of quiche and could barely make a dent in the quiche - look at the size of that! The quiche was also pure perfection. The Shed does excellent food, and so they are usually very busy. Despite the amount of patrons, the servers are excellent and quick to get you in and out, while having an incredible food experience. So good, I wonder if they would do delivery to Denver...

I got the option of getting half breakfast potatoes and half beans. I used some of the red chile over the beans and potatoes, and oh my! It was the best red chile I had the whole trip. The queso was a true queso with real cheese and green chile, not the stuff that comes out of a can with canned jalapeños. To top it all off, you get a choice of their home-baked bread. Green Chile Cheddar, please. We each took a loaf home with us and put it in the freezer to travel back with us on the road. My repeat visit was the same meal because it was that good. We sat outside on the patio the second time, and despite the heat, the fans and the covered patio made it very pleasant.

I ordered the Huevos Rancheros that comes with a side refried beans and a flour tortilla. To drink, I ordered coffee. There were two servers that day. Ours was the younger lady, who was not really engaged with the clientele except with some guy eating at the counter. When she delivered our food, she never offered to refill my friend's iced tea or my coffee. For almost 5 minutes I tried to get her attention without success. I got up to the counter where she continued chatting with the guy eating at the counter. I mentioned that I wanted more coffee, I was told that they had ran out and if I wanted decaf. She shook the thermos and she said that she still had some coffee left. I also told her that on the menu my meal included a tortilla. She never apologized for the lousy service. Very disappointing.

They are simply magic here both in terms of flavor complexity and texture. Their texture here is truly the best. I literally was licking the plate at the end of each of these. I tried all four of their moles as plates and also as a sampler on four different occasions and all are very complex, rich, creamy and satisfying. -Mole Poblano. "A not so sweet ajillo pepper mole sauce with traditional ingredients and a touch of Oaxaca chocolate." This was the first we tried here and what brought us back for more. -Mancha Manteles mole: This mole is described on their menu as: "Sweet pineapple, red apples, fried plantain and a wonderful choice of spices make this mole a great and unique experience". This mole like their other ones came out piping hot, creamy, thick, complex and delicious. -Mole Negro: Chichilo pepper and tomatillo mole sauce with a smoky taste and a hint of ash. -Mole Verde o Pipian. Toasted pumpkin seeds and tomatillo mole sauce with a hint of hoja santa (root beer plant) My husband and I get their enmoladas stuffed with vegetables and get double serving of the black beans (rice has chicken stock so we avoid it to keep the meal vegan/ vegetarian). The plates are always piping hot and soooo yummy. When they have all four moles available they offer a sampler as well. We did this on our last visit and it was fun to revisit the 4 moles we had their side by side and compare them. I really love the ambiance out on the peaceful patio and there's cover form the sun.
