I have put off coming to the dentist for the longest time out of fear of finding a bad one. I feel lit's something a lot of people do, but wow did I get lucky with this one. They kind lady at the front desk was so polite and helped me with my insurance details. (Im a brit and still getting used to all of this). Then I met Dr. Hakimi who treated me, along with the other dentist, as if I had been coming to the practice for years and years. The cleaning was detailed and efficient and the place was also spotless. They also helped me book an appointment with a Orthondist that they spoke very highly - saving me even more time. From the moment I scheduled my appointment and spoke with Shohreh at the front desk--who is very  professional and kind--to meeting Dr. Hakimi himself, I felt completely at ease. Dr. Hakimi is polite, patience, highly skilled, and genuinely focused on your care rather than just billing your insurance. With all the dental problems I had and the many calls I had to make to his office, it was amazing how patience and respectful he was. Ive never ever written a review for a medical or dentistry establishment but I felt compelled to write one for Dr Hakimi. Van Nuys is neither a destination i frequent nor would venture out for any reason. At the request of a friend several years ago, who basically said "what do you have to lose by going once?" I made the trek to Van Nuys Ville. The area is what I would expect of Van Nuys and there is a small parking lot behind. The first time I went there, I began to question my friend's recommendation and maybe even question their standards? But, that question of doubt, washed away when you walk into the office. It's one of those Norman Rockwell places you envision when going to see the doctor! This is the CLASSIC mom & pop store which have slowly disappeared from the Los Angeles scenery. The office is modern and clean. From Sherry's endearing voice at the front desk, to the meticulous work Azita (dentist's wife) who is the main dental hygienist and to Dr Hakimi himself. As a child, I had frequented so many unscrupulous dentists "who found a cavity at every instance". Not Dr Hakimi, over the years, I had so many occasions where I had significant tooth pain, that I felt, surely now I have a cavity. But Dr Hakimi never faltered. He would say, I "promise you this is not a cavity" when I was so sure that I HAD one. At so many instances, the man could have made tons of money off of me. Finally after several years, I went in for a chipped tooth, and I saw the professor at his craft. In an hour, I walked away with a perfect tooth. This office has so much integrity, compassion and care. In a world of quick profits, I have been humbled by the honesty and integrity of this office. Offices like this don't exist anymore. If you like the old mom and pop stores, and don't mind the trek this place should be on your list. read more

I have been searching for a good dentist for a long time. The last good dentist I had was in childhood and their clinic moved away. I have suffered through over a decade of shady dentists that just want to sell unnecessary procedures to you. Mind you, I have healthy teeth and never even had a cavity in my life. Dr. Hakimi is a breath of fresh air! Today was my first visit to his office for semi- annual exam, X-rays and cleaning. My boyfriend and mom have been coming here and both had rave reviews. First of all, plenty of parking in the back. Walking into the clinic felt great. Very clean, modern, and bright space. I was checked in and taken to get started a few minutes before my appointment time which was great. They did thorough X-rays and an amazing cleaning. I have not had that good of a cleaning for many years and it was just a standard appointment. I felt so clean and fresh afterwards. Absolutely detailed job. Thank you to my hygienist!! The doctor was also extremely kind, funny and knowledgeable. He and the hygienist gave me many tips on my sensitive teeth and did not try to upsell at all. It feels good to finally have a dentist that just wants to help you and keep you healthy. I know that I will never have to worry about shady dentist antics here. I will for sure be coming here moving forward and already started recommending them to my friends and coworkers. read more

After avoiding the dentist for some time, I started feeling pain when chewing on my left molar side. Yikes! I was recommended Dr. Hakimi by a close friend. I came to Dr Hakimi because I was having terrible tooth aches. It turn out I had to have a wisdom tooth pulled out. We took X Rays and he called the Oral Surgeons office and took care of everything so I could be seen a few hours later. They made a painful process very easy and I'll be back in a few weeks for my cleaning. The Dental Hygienist, Azita was especially helpful and very sweet. Dr. Hakimi is the best dentist I've been to since I was a child. I have been struggling for years to find a reliable dentist that doesn't try to scam you for all sorts of procedures. Dr. Hakimi's service was incredible -- he tells you exactly what you need and doesn't try to upsell you. His staff and team are also very supportive. BEST DENTIST In town! The kindest, most professional people work here. The receptionist Shohreh greets you with endless warmth. Azita, the hygienist is the sweetest! Her smile lights up the room! I've been going to Dr. Hakimi on and off my entire life. The 'off' period was only because I had braces and needed to see an orthodontist instead. My mom has known him for 30+ years and he's been our family's 'forever-dentist.' His office is always impeccably clean, and his many certificates line the walls in plain sight. Sherry, the office manager, is friendly, professional, and always follows-up with you on your appointments and your billing/insurance coverage. Azita does the most thorough and gentle cleanings. Dr. Hakimi himself is extremely smart, answers all your questions, and takes pride in his work (and for good reason.) I really hate going to the dentist (do you know anyone that loves it?) but Dr. Hakimi & co. make the experience as painless as possible. Edit: I should also add that I have only ever had one cavity, and I was seven, and it got filled on a baby tooth and later fell out. So I have never had a cavity as an adult/on an adult tooth.
