Corned Beef Hash and Eggs
Aurora G.

A delightful experience. This cozy spot is tucked in a hole in the wall just minutes from the Bal Harbour Shops. My mom and I stopped in on a rainy morning and were immediately seated at the bar. Seeing as it was a front row seat to be able to watch the chef work his magic, I was not upset. Here I had the best corned beef hash I think I've ever had. The coleslaw was out of this world. And make sure to ask for jelly - Josh makes his own and it's a mix of mango and mamey. Unexpected and GOOD. If I lived anywhere near here, I'd be an instant regular. It's perfectly cozy and the smell that you get to enjoy when he's making his rye bread from scratch - second to none. I HIGHLY recommend, and will hopefully be back.

Ruben corn Corned Beef Sandwich

Was invited by my friend Esther for my birthday lunch to Josh's deli what a great experience. The Ruben was corn beef all made here fresh. Last time I had such a delicious Ruben was in NYC. Our server is Juan such a pleasant professional young man. He helped us decide with the menu. What a beautiful day today and lunch. Come eat at this hidden gem in Surfside.

Corned beef hash and eggs

After reading about this place and following the IG account for years, I finally made the pilgrimage to Josh's Deli. A quaint storefront in sunny Surfside, it had limited seating but tremendously innovative deli favorites. I had the corned beef hash and eggs and let me tell you, I'll never be able to eat the canned stuff at a diner again after this experience. My wife got latkes with smoked salmon on top, which was just delectable. Everything here is made carefully and with a creative eye, something those of us who cherish deli staples but seek more will find enticing. If you are feeling adventurous and want to eat Jewish deli food from another (some would say tastier) universe, come to Josh's Deli.

Skimpy slice of pickle along a salty pastrami sandwich (with extra meat)

$88 for a mediocre pastrami sandwich, fries, slaw & 1 can of beer...no tip. That's before mentioning I ordered Shakshuka but eggs were undercooked so I didn't eat it & they took it off the bill. Sadly this will be my final visit. What a distant memory of the delicious place this used to be.

Cortado and cold brew

I want to know why there isn't a line out the door for this incredible pastrami sandwich! What an absolute gem. We ordered the Ginsberg, which had the most perfect thin pastrami with caramelized onion. An incredible bite!! We also enjoyed the veggie sandwich, with delicious caponata and the jewbanize, which combined pastrami and pork. So good! Also great pickles! We also ordered the granola Greek yogurt (loved the peanut butter chips!) and the chocolate pancake. And since we were there for brunch, we had to order coffee. The cold brew tasted like a chocolate shake somehow. Obsessed! Service was great. Josh himself is back there making orders! And the cafe is small but a cool vibe. I already can't wait to go back! So happy this place exists only 20 mins from my house.

A Slice of Dominican New York... Right Here on Miami Beach…read more I've been coming to Ocean Deli since 2020, and I honestly can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review. Maybe because people from New York know one universal rule: when you find a great neighborhood spot, you keep your mouth shut. You don't want your hidden gem becoming the next place where people wait in line because somebody on social media "discovered" it. Ocean Deli is one of the last authentic neighborhood delis left on Miami Beach. In a city filled with luxury hotels, trendy brunch spots, and restaurants charging resort prices for breakfast, Ocean Deli quietly does what it's been doing all along--serving great food, quickly, and at prices that still make sense. This is where the people who actually keep Miami Beach running come to eat. Hotel employees, construction workers, delivery drivers, city workers, first responders, and the locals who somehow managed to survive Miami Beach's rising cost of living. If you want to know where the real locals eat, this is it. The owner is Dominican and from the Bronx, and that New York Dominican bodega culture is written all over this place--in the best possible way. Walk through the door and you'll swear you just landed in Washington Heights or the Bronx. Bachata and merengue are playing in the background. The smell of fresh café con leche fills the room. The grill is always working. Conversations bounce around the deli like you've walked into someone's neighborhood hangout instead of a business. The ladies behind the counter are unmistakably Dominican--friendly, hardworking, efficient, and they keep the line moving without ever losing that neighborhood feel. The sandwiches are outstanding. Fresh bread, generous portions, and made the way sandwiches are supposed to be made. No unnecessary gimmicks. No tiny portions with fancy names. The café con leche deserves its own mention. Strong, smooth, and exactly what coffee should taste like. If you've spent any time in New York's Dominican neighborhoods, you'll recognize it immediately. The Dominican breakfast and lunch plates are equally impressive. Simple, authentic, flavorful comfort food that fills you up instead of emptying your wallet. Speaking of wallets... Ocean Deli might be one of the best values left on Miami Beach. While restaurants a few blocks away are charging you like they flew the eggs in first class, Ocean Deli is quietly serving quality food at prices that remind you Miami Beach wasn't always built just for tourists. Just know what you're walking into......This isn't a sit-down restaurant. You walk in, place your order, take your receipt to the register and pay. Then you wait a few minutes while the grill works its magic. When they call your order, you grab your food and you're on your way. That's how it's done here. Fast, efficient, and without all the unnecessary fanfare. Ocean Deli isn't trying to sell you an "artisan culinary experience." It's selling great sandwiches, authentic Dominican food, excellent café con leche, fair prices, and a little piece of Dominican-York right here on Miami Beach. Some places sell an image....... Ocean Deli sells breakfast and lunch. After six years of coming here, I wouldn't have it any other way. Just do yourself one favor: when you find yourself surrounded by tourists paying resort prices for an average meal, remember there's still one place on Miami Beach where the locals go. Now You Know

The interior looked old and worn out. The good news is they are moving to a new location, across the street in July. Our server was not the most attentive. The restaurant was slow and I had to flag him down or go get him when we needed something, like to-go boxes. When I told him the bread was stale he was nice enough to bring me 2 more slices of stale bread. We do not live in the area and to not plan to return anytime soon.

This restaurant is so bad I redownloaded Yelp to speak my truth. If I could I'd give a ZERO star…read morerating. Consider that one star a gift to my server Julie who provided nothing but excellent service with a smile on her face. First introductions are everything. My partner and I were dismissed completely by the manager who was too busy chatting it up with solicitors. Not even a simple "I'll be right with you." Julie caught wind of this and immediately swooped in. The menu is pricey but I assumed that the portions would make up for it. This assumption was correct, but my food's presentation was the equivalent to what you'd serve a dog. I ordered the egg salad club with a side of fries; if you're searching for an establishment that cooks with love just leave. The egg salad was unseasoned and I'm unsure that half-smashed boiled eggs constitutes as egg salad. The fries were piled on top as if a tired teenage McDonald's worker was cooking it up in the back. My partner also agreed that their tuna melt was unseasoned. As we were leaving we decided to take a peek at the baked goods. In a final attempt to give this place the benefit of the doubt, we eyed a delectable looking chocolate chip cookie. I called over the employee behind the bakery counter to which she begrudgingly trudged on over. I took another look at the display to solidify what I wanted, but I noticed something unappetizing. FLIES. Not one fly, multiple flies having their way with the baked goods. We told her never mind and left the establishment. Never again will I step foot in this atrocity.

Stopped by Wolsen Caffè this evening and it honestly feels like a hidden gem in Sunny Isles…read more Service was excellent--quick, very polite, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell they care about the experience. But the real standout is the Portobello burger. Instead of a traditional bun, they use Portobello mushrooms, and paired with a glass of wine, it's easily one of the most delicious things I've had in a long time. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for something a little different and really well done.

I've been here twice and taken back by the potential this place has. First of all, "no work zone"…read more. a cozy, empty cafe that does not allow laptops- have you heard of such a thing? I can't understand the logic and would think it would help a business. Wouldn't a more reasonable approach be to limit time guests are allowed to stay or to put a minimum spend if the concern is loitering? Maybe While also reinforcing loud conversations or cell phone use isn't allowed? Perhaps there's something I'm missing here. Besides that, both meals I've had here were meh. The service was non existent and cold, dismissive. I don't believe the server, a woman, spoke a word to me. I walked in, she came over and gave me a menu. I flagged her over to place my order, still no words, and had to flag her over to ask for water. The meek portion of soup was bland with an over powerful taste of cilantro with an unbalanced taste of quinoa with a few shreds of chicken. Upon finishing the soup, she cleared table, without words, didn't ask if I wanted anything else nor provided the check and my water was empty. I stayed awhile, wondered if I'd get a check or there was something else I was expected to do which I figured out after the man at another table went to the desk to pay. Being a local, I'd love to enjoy this experience but I'm not sure how this place keeps its doors open if this is what the experience is like. The only extra star is for the true feel of a cafe and ambiance but that's all I can speak for.
