Ingress!!!! Coming in off the main road, the entrance to this big saloon was a tough find. Walking back along the building we almost found the entry...amost. it felt like a bum steer so we made our way back to the front. An exception was made and entry allowed. The place is cool, the bar is long and the food and service was great. Egress, a long walk around the bar and way towards the back was the exit. It was our first night in Joshua Tree and we were looking for a quick and easy dinner and I saw Joshua Tree saloon on a bunch of posts online. Honestly this wasn't a bad experience it was just standard bar fare. Servers were great and I was really pleased with the staff but I just thought the food was ok! We got some chips for the table. I got the chicken quesadilla to eat and don't get me wrong this was pretty tasty just not the most amazing stunning thing ever. Came here while visiting and the locals recommended this place for dinner. Walked in and whoa....no AC when it's 100 degrees. The tables are packed tight and it's super stuffy. The waiter who greeted us was very nice but after he took our order, never saw him again. We had random people bringing our drinks and food. Ordered the sampler...big mistake. Everything in the sampler tasted the same (fried grease, no flavor). When we wanted to pay our bill, we had a hard time finding someone to help us. She got the mojito and I got the cactus cadillac, which was a bit tequila forward but I'm not complaining. came around 8:30 pm and it was very busy. inside is pretty loud and spacious with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. service was friendly. ordered the coyote burger and fish taco and the taco was so delicious and flavorful. one of the best tacos ive ever eaten by far. the burger was good too but definitely not as good as the taco. the french fries were crispy and delicious. we did have to wait around 20 minutes for the order to arrive which took awhile but the food made up for it. overall, a delicious experience. read more

So many people recommend this place on the internet and we felt the saloon vibes. They have indoor and outdoor seating, atmosphere is decorated in a fun way. The place was packed so we did have to wait about 20 minutes for our table but service was good! We started with the sampler which had a little bit if everything and they had good ranch which is truly hard to come by. For dinner I picked the big oink with a side of mac & cheese, the sandwich was huge but everything was flavorful and yummy. My sister loved her patty melt, said it was probably one of the best she ever had and my friend liked his bbq burger, just said he wished there was more bbq sauce . Best fried pickles I've ever had!!! And I love me a fried pickle. They were so crunchy, flavorful, piping hot, delicious homemade ranch to dip in. It is a huge bummer that this restaurant does not serve takeout on weekends so we dragged ourselves. The service was not very nice when we tried asking questions about timing and definitely debated leaving but this was the only place open so late at night. Once seated, I was also surprised to see how expensive even the appetizers were. A "basket" of ribs was $20! I think everything I got tasted good but the other appetizers were not so amazing for my friends and overall it felt like not a great experience for being out of town. read more

Wait times have increased, it takes about 50 to 55 minutes to get your food, what really bothered me is the 1.5 hours wait after the kitchen "lost" my ticket. So, after waiting for 1.5 hours, I asked for my order to be partially canceled (especially since we were at the point happy hours started...) then suddenly they found the ticket and food was in front of me within 2 minutes. Weird.... I was not offered any discount, they refused to cancel the item. Prices: 3 stars. Food and beverage are pricey, higher than average in this location. Discrepancies between happy hours and regular menu prices are astonishing that it makes it difficult to bear regular price... A plus for Sunday afternoon live music jams. We frequent JT's at least once during each weekend we spend here. We always sit at the bar as it's comfortable for us. The bartenders are awesome - friendly, provide excellent service, and they pour great cocktails. It's a casual and friendly place; we always seem to have great conversations there. We loved JTS. Our pup was with us and we loved it that she was welcomed. My burger was one of the best in quite a while. Check out the brand on the top bun. Today we took our uncle who was in town to eat somewhere special. He loved seeing the saloon. Grace was a very attentive and kind young lady helping us when our server failed. Our uncle is 69 years old and ordered the ribs. The rack of ribs came out and looked amazing. As our uncle struggled to cut the ribs apart we asked our server if he could take the ribs and cut them apart he looked at us and said "can you cut them apart?" The look that must have come across our face when he said that is what I believe made him snatch the plate from my u clue and storm off to the kitchen. When we arrived to this area we stopped at the Tiny Pony Tavern and had the best hamburger I've ever tasted and we are from Los Angeles and have tried some amazing food. They are amazing. We then went to this Joshua Tree Saloon someone in town told us about and were excited for some more good food and it was the worst food we ever tried. So disappointing. Cool vibes! We biked here and were able to lock up the bikes anywhere. There's outdoor seating with music and a bar but it was extremely hot at 95+ degrees. I typically love the sun and eating outside but I was suffering from the heat! It was lively during the day, so I'm sure it would be more packed at night. I had a beer batter fish taco and a BLT. There were both really good! The fries that came with the sandwich were crispy and fresh. Fish was tasty and battered well. Stopped in for some early dinner and loved the ambiance immediately, it has a definite locals feel, but also a 'howdy stranger, come in' vibe as well. Super friendly staff and my meal was delicious, to say the ribs were meaty is a massive understatement, thick, juicy and the rub was just the right amount of savory to pull out that hint of sweetness in the porky perfection. I am a self admitted Cole slaw enthusiast and my preferred version is the crunchy, creamy, sweet, tangy, pinch of celery salt delight which they provided here- 10/10.The broccoli was also bright, fresh and added that guilt abating addition to the meal. The bartender was great and attentive, gave great recommendations about the local beer. The beer was cold and the service was fast and friendly. We got wings which were really really good. We shared an order of calamari ($15.99). This was good a good, standard app. I ordered the Saloon Original Patty Melt ($16.99). It's a 1/2 pound of an angus steak patty topped with melted Swiss cheese, grilled onions + Russian dressing on sourdough bread. This patty melt was hitting. I liked that the patty was proportionally very generous - it helped prevent any dryness. They were absolutely packed and definitely didn't have enough staff to accommodate all the people. Felt a little bad with our party of eight, but our servers did their best.
