We got married in Casa Romantica in San Clemente. However, we were living far away in San Jose in the year building up to the wedding. We also had a baby and were enduring the covid pandemic throughout the wedding planning year. Despite all this, Katherine made everything a breeze. Most of the "work" we had to do was make multiple-choice type decisions where she presented us with options (like: picking dj, food, flowers, decor, cake, etc). For fuzzier things like vows and ceremony script, she gave us lots of advice and guidance. Since we were remote, we could only afford a couple trips to arrange wedding details in person. Katherine greatly accommodated our special situation: for a couple weekend visits, she packed our schedule to be super productive and get most in-person things done at once. On the techie side, she is extremely organized with spreadsheets for timelines, guest management, budgets, etc. She was very responsive and focused in email threads. She also easily handled any task involving invites online, wedding websites, registry etc. As I work in the tech industry, I feel like Katherine is like the kind of product manager you dream of working with. On the personal side, Katherine is very low-key, never exerted her influence or opinion, and always had a cheerful attitude. She would mostly listen to us try to reason decisions out, and offer any insights or details we might not have thought of. We really felt like we owned the decision-making process and made the wedding to our own taste. We, with our families, are now scrolling through wedding photos with joy. We really tried to give patience and grace however she crossed many lines the week of our wedding. Jennifer's professionalism and communication was not there: -She would take longer than two days to get back to us the week of the wedding for urgent questions and claimed that she is "too busy" - but she had enough time to post pictures of the flowers she bought for our wedding, as well as repost Taylor Swift's engagement on Instagram. Lady, you have time -Our first look photos were 2 hours before our church ceremony, and she said that she would not be able to deliver the bouquet and boutonnieres up to Inland Empire. She wanted me to ask our photographer who is local to OC bring the flowers - which is not his job. I ended up picking up the flowers the day before, had followed all instructions that she provided, and the flowers were not in good condition the morning of our wedding day. -I had told her multiple times that my family member would be making boutonnieres for the aunts/uncles which she okay'd. Before the evening reception, she threatened to take all of the flowers away because it was "breaching contract" and that my family was not allowed to make their own boutonnières. After we had showed her screenshots of the email exchange of our agreement, she backed off. -I had created a visual mockup of how we wanted our sweetheart table to look (flower meadow along with a sign of our last names). the day of, she took creative liberty and when told that the sweetheart table was not what I had specified, she said that "this is what the bride had wanted". After physically adjusting the sweetheart table myself during the room reveal, she finally adjusted things similar to the original mockup that i created for her, during cocktail hour. -during my husband and I's room reveal and private vow exchange, she lingered the whole time not to adjust the sweetheart table, but to take photos of us for her social media. it made us extremely uncomfortable and we had to ask staff to have her leave. -she delayed the time that our guests were allowed to enter the reception, because she was taking social media photos and videos for her personal use. -she had promised to have another boutonniere ready for my husband at the reception so that it would look fresh for reception photos - when we had asked her at the reception where the boutonniere was, she said that she "forgot to make one". My husband's best man was kind enough to give him his boutonnière instead. She came back after saying that she will make my husband's bout, but will not be making one for the best man that gave his bout away.

Laura came recommended with our venue of the LA River Center and Gardens as one of two approved…read morewedding coordinators. We believed we needed to go with one of them. We spoke with Laura on the phone and on zoom, her price seemed reasonable, so we booked her. Her recommendations for vendors were not the best. We went with her vendor Rustic Yards for rentals and he was impossible to get intouch with, but had great products and it worked out at the event. There was a period of about a month and a half between february and end of march where she stopped responding to emails and texts all together. We were worried, but she finally reached out saying she was in the hospital. I asked about there being a backup person to call in case of emergency, who helps her with the business and she said no. After that, communication was better. For my wedding, we DIYed our table decor and had a specific way of arranging everything. I went over the details in person when she picked it up, and I created a 50-page binder that explained every detail for the day of for her to review. My other vendors appreciated the details. It seemed like she didn't even look over it, because when we showed up to the venue before cocktail hour, everything was a mess. She claimed the wind was going to blow everything away and just put all the menus, name cards, napkins, utensils, candles array on the table and didn't follow my set up. We asked her to have both of her assistants available to set up, but she refused, saying she could just use one and herself for everything. She also insisted that the catering company be the one who set up the tables and decor and refused to put out the cups or plates. Luckily our caterer worked with us and we paid for THEIR servers to be there an hour earlier to set it up. We had 230 people at the wedding and a lot of tables and decor to set up. Luckily my bridal party went around fixing her decor mistakes. She was unwilling to give instructions or guidance to the vendors on the day of. For example, there were boxes left in the entrance that she refused to move but also didn't ask catering to move them. When speeches started, she told the bar to stop serving alcohol, which was never discussed. She then blamed the bartenders for not listening, but the bartenders said she was the one who instructed them. As the night went on, she was nowhere to be found. My caterer mentioned her being on her phone in the back for a while. At the end of the night, we gathered most of our personal belongings and decor to take home. After the wedding, I never received a text or email saying congratulations, or thank you for working with me. She was very ungrateful and unprofessional and hiring her is the only regret I have for my wedding day.
