I really loved the concept, but the experience felt like a storefront playing spa. I tried the salt bath and felt totally uncomfortable with the level of cleanliness and care. There was rust, peeling paint, dust/dirt in the corners, no soap/shampoo in the shower, and I just didn't want to touch anything. The massage was a much better experience and the therapist offered helpful suggestions based on ways she could improve knots and stress within the body. Dissapointing experience! They rescheduled my appointment to the evening due to staffing issues. I showed up for my appointment and they had scheduled me with a male therapist when I requested a female. They had no other therapists available at that time. Sometimes you just have to treat yourself! Do the things you would do for someone else or want them to do for you, to YOURSELF! I did fine this establishment on Groupon because I was searching for a massage to help relieve some stress. They were right around the corner from my job so how perfect for me to have a session immediately after work. It did take a little bit of time scheduling and phone tag but I was able to schedule for the day that I wanted. I decided to purchase directly with them after speaking over the phone and scheduling. I walked in and immediately was attracted to the decor. All the colors that I love displayed in the reception and bathroom areas. Make sure to fill out your intake forms before you arrive to save everyone time and not to take away from your massage. I was able to have Deborah treat me and she was very attentive. She asked me if there were any specific areas I needed more work on and when I had time left at the end, she asked if I wanted her to revisit some areas. I only chose for a massage this town but they also offer IV treatments as well as floats. I may try one of the two but need to do a little bit more research on them first. I love serenity and from the smells to the sounds this place encapsulates it all. I remember how amazing I fell after celebrating my birthday at the spa all day and this immediately took me back to that feeling. How can I not go back? They're right around the corner from my job and we know how stressful work can be and just our everyday lives. Large professional float place with awesome shower with few downsides. Lot: Shared strip mall lot, for my midday apt there was PLENTY of spots. Atmosphere: Nice place that seems huge. I did not do a tour but I can imagine they have multiple services (I only floated) or bunches of tanks. I was late so I flew threw it but the front desk had a Mac with huge monitor, passed a nice water fridge, and L.O.V.E.D the shower. The speaker for the music didn't work but everything else was good and clean. Experience: I've floated before but its been years. If u haven't, you should try it. The first five minutes are weird as you adjust but it's totally a cool experience to not know where the water ends and you begin. You will go zen and totally relax. Its awesome and like a bottle of wine without the hangover. Price/Value; I got a Groupon but they say it's $80 which I think is high however on the website they have lots of combo deals that really make it worth it. Service: Nice staff. Both wore masks when I got closer to them. The first guy was so excited I was exited about the place and gave me a high five when I was like wow this is so much nicer then I expected. I really enjoyed my float therapy session. This was probably the most relaxed my body has been in a long time. Being able to disconnect from everything and just meditate was most rewarding. If you aren't able to truly relax then this isnt for you. I recommend taking deep breaths as you float. It'll help center your mind and your body. They provided a shower, towels, lotion, shampoo, sanitizer, ear plugs etc. You're in your own room so there's complete privacy. read more

Massage review with Sunshine - 5 star I found Journey Within Wellness Center through a massage Groupon. Was able to quickly get an appointment with Sunshine for a 60 minute massage. While she was running behind for our first appointment, I didn't mind. The office/seating area is welcoming and calming. She brought me back and we had a 10 minute chat about my needs as I am recovering from back related issues. The massage was very nice and full body - she called it "exploratory" since I hadn't had a massage in a couple years. She suggested a longer massage next time, so I purchased a three 90-minute massage package for a very reasonable price. Have been back to see her 3 times since then and I always feel incredibly better. The sessions aren't always comfortable as she works through flexibility and muscles but I always feel better afterwards. I have another 3 appointments scheduled with her coming up and look forward to them all. They are following COVID protocols with temperature checks upon arrival and mandatory hand sanitizer. They are also sanitizing the single restroom between uses. The parking lot is empty on the weekends but does get full during the week - suggest leaving time for arrival in case you have to hunt a little for parking. read more

JWWC was amazing! The is was my first time doing float therapy and I was not disappointed. I booked the night before for an 11am 30min float & 30min Thai massage (recommended by the host). When I showed up I was seen right away. The host escorted me to my room, explained how floatation therapy worked, room amenities, and let me ask any questions. The room is private (loved!) and equipped with a Dyson blow dryer, lotion, body wash, conditioner, towel, ear plugs, and bamboo mat. The shower had multiple settings and I tested out each one. The water was hot and The floatation tank had two settings: color changing lights or complete darkness. I used both settings and it was amazing. You have the option to have soothing music or silence. There was an intercom to page the front desk if you needed assistance, spray bottle filled with fresh water if you accidentally got salt in your eye (saved me!) and a foam board to help with spine alignment during your float. My Thai massage was painful!! I didn't know what to expect but my muscles were rolled and stretched by E. He gave me recommendations to lay off the dairy and sugar because my muscles were inflamed. .:sigh:. He was very knowledgable and I'm very appreciative . After the float and massage they let me check our and gave me a bottle of water for my departure. I highly recommend this place and I love that they give you a 30min option to test out floating. I had a great experience with float therapy. The folks at the front didn't over complicate it. Took me back to the room and explained everything. Once he left you have about 5 min to undress and rinse in their awesome shower. Once you rinse you can get into the floating tub. It was warm. You really do float without much effort. I used the foam halo to keep my head up but I don't think it would have been necessary. You can adjust the amount of sensory deprivation by changing the colors of the led light in the tub. You can also turn it off all together. Just lay back and relax. read more

First time floating here. I have had ~20 floats so far in both Samadhi pods & Float Lab chambers at places that exclusively offer float therapy as their main staple. JWWC offers several other services other than float therapy, I get the impression they are trying to enter the float market but feel floating in not their #1 draw. PROS: JWWC float rooms can accommodate 1-2 person floats with controlled lighting, music, & water temperature if that is your preference. The roominess at JWWC is great for 1st time floaters so they don't feel claustrophobic. The 2 gentlemen that greeted me were very nice, polite, & professional. Customer service is important considering we vote with our dollars. CONS: Not sure how I felt about the extra noise or movement at JWWC. The rooms have hair dryers. Most float only centers are very quiet & zen-like just like walking into a yoga class already begun. Extra noise and foot traffic takes away from the experience. This was really a great experience overall. I've been having a lot of pain from my frozen shoulder and TC did some kind of magic trigger point therapeutic massage. He checked in with me a lot to get feedback and really understood the anatomy/physiology. It was truly one of the best massages I've had. First time "floating." A few friends had tried it and recommended it. One friend called it downright spiritual. I was still skeptical but I came across a Groupon and decided to check it out. An added bonus was this center is open pretty late and could accommodate a same day appointment. Located in a quiet plaza near that extremely busy Chik-Fil-A. The other establishments in the plaza are wellness based which was nice because the parking lot was not overly crowded. Walked in and was greeted by a nice gentleman who handed me the waiver forms to complete and then explained the whole process. Think the Dead Sea in a room. Something like 2,500lbs of salt in about 2FT of water. There are a variety of options to help you relax. You can connect your phone to the Bluetooth service so that your music is playing in your suite, choose the ambient noise that plays in the wellness center; or complete silence if you want to do the whole sensory deprivation thing (silicone earplugs are provided). There is LED mood lighting in the tank (different colors) or you can turn it all off. You will have to rinse off before entering the "tank"/bath and the showers are amazing. As in: how do I get this installed in my bathroom sort of amazing. There are a number of options here as well for a complete spa-like experience. You are allotted about 10 mins before and after so don't linger in the shower. Each suite has top-notch amenities (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, towels, hairdryer etc). I found the experience incredibly relaxing. Just floating and listening to my heart beating was quite soothing. This is a wonderful opportunity to just shut down for an hour. I went to Journey Within for my first float experience and I'm so happy I did! Both my boyfriend and I had no clue what to expect but Farhan, the instructor who oriented us, made us feel so comfortable and welcome and was also great conversation and very accomodating. The place itself has a very calming interior design with awesome recliner couches and interesting reads. Location was excellent as it was only 15 minutes from Downtown Baltimore and easy to find right off the highway. About the tanks: the float tank has its own room with a private shower, clean towels, shampoo, body wash, lotion, ear plugs, and even a hair dryer. The whole place is very new (they've only been open 1 month) and well maintained. The tank itself is enough space for 2 people - my boyfriend is 6'4 and still fit comfortably in the tank alongside me. There are also options for ambient lighting and music, or none at all. The tank also has an intercom button just in case you need any help from the people working there. Overall I was so happy I tried this out and will be 100% coming back to float again and try their other services. It was also a very good sign that Farhan was very open to hearing our critique and seeing how he could improve customer's experiences as the business grows. read more

Just what the body need after a rough weekend. Came in with aches and sore muscles and left feeling relaxed and refreshed. TC gave one of the best massage I've had. Some stubborn knots in my shoulder didn't stand a chance. Float was very relaxing. Gentleman at the desk was very helpful and walked me through the whole float process since it was my first time. I mainly was just curious on just WHAT float therapy was all about ... I've looked at some stuff online with the float "pods" but they appear pretty much like mini " water coffins" to me so I wasnt too enthused... I came to the journeyWithin wellness when I was at a nearby appointment and I saw their advertisement on the window... it's a small no frills looking office spaces but I can say THIS... .. from the moment I walked in the door I literally think my blood pressure went down as there was a feeling of peace and calmness there ... all the staff are very patient in answering my questions ... they do NOT have those closed in pod like "water caskets"... lol ... SUPER DUPER important to me-it was CLEAN!! my boyfriend and I dId float therapy for the first time together ... he said he really liked it. It helped with his neck pain ..I LOVED IT... ... So much so --fell asleep ... my boyfriend said I was snoring ... lol I even lost like 4lbs the next few days after .. the salt was a pain to get out of my hair but the do have GREAT SHOWERS and free products all in your own little float room (DO NOT WEAR YOUR GOOD BATHING SUIT) they suggest for the best experience your birthday suit (naked ) ... actually I can see why ... although I did wear a bathing suit it's soooo strange that eventually you are so relaxed to the point where you cannot feel that you are even floating on water .. you really DO become ONE with the water ... Oh, I wouldn't suggest having much to do afterwards... last night I went to journey within wellness Center. I had never done a deprivation float before and had really been looking forward to it. I was welcomed warmly. the reception area is clean and calm. I arrived early , so while I was waiting the gentleman who checked me showed me a video to educate me a little bit more on the process. I was showing the room giving directions everyone showers first and you have a choice of deprivation, music and or lights. I only stayed about 45 minutes out of my 60 minutes. I became extremely nauseated. I showered got dressed and shared how I was feeling. I was told that it was probably a result of the detoxing. That the more frequently I come it will decrease.not that it would have dissuaded me, but it would have been good to know this ahead of time. The gentleman also told me I should sleep well that night. I do not think I'll be back, feeling nauseated is not something I can work through. I really was sick for the remainder of the evening. I have to tell you guys about the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Journey Within Wellness Center I've had a Groupon to get a CBD oil massage at this company for months, so I finally decided to use it. My appointment was for Thursday 2/25 at 2:15 with masseuse Sam. On the day of my appointment, I was running a bit late, so a hour before my appointment I called to cancel and reschedule for the next hour. I was told by the co-manager that's I MAY have to pay a $25 cancellation fee but he would call me back( this $25 fee is not disclosed anywhere on their website, even when you book your appointment but ok) . Well he never called me back. I went online and changed my appointment to the 3:15 with masseuse Sunshine, if I had to pay the $25, so be it. I called back to make sure I'm confirmed for the 3:15 appointment and ask the manager if I needed to have the $25 fee, he said no. Ok boom I drive to Columbia when I walk in there are two men in the lobby one sitting and one standing. The one sitting is the co manager, he says nothing about a $25 fee (since we already confirmed I didn't have to pay that on the phone) he tells me to fill out the paperwork and my masseuse will be out soon. I sat there for 30 to 40 minutes before they told me that they had to reschedule me for the next day with my original masseuse Sam @4:30. I politely say okay and told him that I would be there tomorrow. Friday comes along, I never get a phone confirmation for my 4:30 appointment, so I call to make sure I'm still scheduled. I'm told yes, so I drive to Columbia. I make it there just at 4:30, this time when I walk in again there are two men but the one at the desk is different( the other co manager) but the same man standing next to the desk that was there the day before. They give me the paperwork to fill out tell me to have a seat. After I filled out the paperwork, I turned to them to tell him that I had completed it. The man that was standing steps over to me, he was my masseuse Sam. When he walks over to me he introduces himself and asks me am I okay with paying the $25 I replied no the manager told me I didn't have to pay the $25 fee yesterday. This man goes on to blame me for everything because they have bad business practices. He decides he's not going to serve me. He said that I had to pay him the $25 because I inconvenienced him and he had to wait two hours ok I call your manager a hour before my appointment to cancel, he doesn't inform you, he tells me that I didn't have to pay the $25 fee, you guys allow me to come in for 3:15 appointment have me waiting 45 minutes ( meaning one of his two hours was spent with me in that lobby) only to tell me that I had to come back the next day (driving from pikesville). The worst part is I had $50 in my pocket as a tip for the masseuse. I felt so insulted leaving that place. First of all because the manager sat there and allowed his employee to not only insult me by calling me a liar but also to put blame on the customer on something that was a mistake on his manager behalf is disrespectful. He tried to say that I lied about what the manager said only for the manager from the previous day to prove what I said was correct. He waived the non disclosed $25 fee. The acting manager finally apologizes and offers to let me come back the next day and have the masseuse sunshine service me.WTF. They also lie to me and told me that the $25 fee disclosure is on their website's policy and I searched the whole website, there's no disclosure not even after booking the appointment. If anybody ever goes to this place they are unorganized, unprofessional and complete liars. There you go Sam, since you said I when posted my complaints about you guys to make sure I put you in it. I still stand on what I said, you are somebody that should not be working in a field that is servicing people. read more

I loved this place. Very welcoming and relaxing as well as clean. First time floating and will be doing it again very soon! It is dark once you get inside but you get used to it quickly and it helps with the relaxation. The showers are super nice and when you float you can choose between different colored soothing lighting or none. You can also choose to have spa music or not. They also have floating pillows if you want to support your head while floating but I found that I didn't need it. Over all it was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it. read more

I've been floating for several years now and was ecstatic to learn that there was a float spa closer to Baltimore (previously I would go down to Annapolis). Floating has helped me with back pain as well as clear my mind. The essentials: Easy scheduling ... check. Friendly staff ... check. Clean room ... check. The extras: The vibroacoustic technology was an added bonus. I would not do this every time (I like the sensory deprivation), but it helped lull me into a clear state of mind. The float tank itself was the largest I have been in. I haven't felt particularly claustrophobic in other tanks, but having the extra space was nice. Come in. Tune out. I've always been afraid to float because I thought you were in a pod and the idea of closing the lid really freaked me out, but I was very pleasantly surprised to see that JW has basically a small room that you float in, not a pod, with a glass door and an adjustable light! I've been thinking about trying out a Float Tank for years now and I believe this was the closest one to Baltimore available but also was my 1st choice from the reviews i have seen. So i decided to try it out. The people at the front desk seemed genuine and kind. They talked me through the process and off i was. The room i was in had a incredible shower in there that you use before and after. They have every amenity you could think of. I finally put my ear plugs in turned off the light to the AMAZING float area and started my journey. They couldnt of picked a more accurate name for this place. If you have anxiety like me, it can be scary at first to be all alone in complete darkness with nothing but your thoughts but i promise you it goes away quickly and you will finally be able to think freely and clearly. I reccomend asking yourself questions that plague you constantly because i was finally able to formulate answers to questions i thought were impossible. It felt like i was floating in the middle of the calmest ocean that itself was drifting in space. I dont know how else to put it. I also recommend keeping your eyes open for a portion of your journey and closing them. The things your eyes do when completely devoid of light is something else! I was seeing colors occasional that clearly werent there. The float tank its self is huge and i rarely touched the walls even when spread out to the max. The sanitation also made me feel extremely safe. The amount of cleaning the water goes through before you ever step foot into the tub, on top of the salt making it to were no microorganisms can survive made me feel incredibly safe. I stepped out of the tub feeling like a new man and woke up feeling the same. I felt as though my mind and body were finally working together. It was a profound expierence that was made even better by the amount of effort that was clearly put into this beautiful establishment. I got the 3 floats for $115, if you call around and price else no prices can even come close to competing. I will 1000% percent be making this a bi-weekly or monthly adventure.
