Let me start out by saying that this place is a literal diamond. Poke is one of my favorite things to eat and unfortunately there's just not a lot of places around that can serve up a good bowl. I've noticed that there's been a few more poke joints popping up in various areas (Northampton, West Hartford, etc.) Let me say this - I've been to those places but this is the spot. This is the CLEAR winner against those places. Personally, I love building my own bowl - I like to do a mix of half rice and half salad, then tuna, salmon, and some sort of spicy fish (tuna or salmon depending on my mood). Now here's where the other places go wrong - they give you a TEENY TINY portion of the star of the show. This is where Joy Bowl shines. They make the poke the clear STAR of the dish. That's what poke is all about, anyways. They also have a wonderful selection of mix-ins, including veggies and fruits! The sriracha aioli (spicy mayo) was also very good - the only thing I wished they also had would be sesame oil. We asked and they stated they only have olive oil. But oh well, I can live without it. Anywho - if you've never had a poke bowl before, think of this place as a Chipotle - you pick your base, meats, and then toppings. Then you mix everything up in a sauce and enjoy! Another great thing about this place is how well it's decorated! It's a very cute set-up and they even have a wall for polaroids of guests who have been there before.

My mom loves this place so I had to visit while in town and I could totally see why this is her choice when she's craving sushi. It's pretty much sushi in a bowl. I created my own bowl with brown rice, loads of veggies, and added avocado for a little extra price, but it was worth it. The price point is great considering the quality and amount of food you get.

Excellent Poke! No issues here. Fresh, delicious and quick. We'll worth the drive for us. We left the Air show in Westfield and searched Yelp! and found this place. Friendly staff as well!

ordered grub hub from them the other day and was disappointed to receive a half portion of a two protein bowl. Food was good but it was disappointing since I was still hungry and I paid $15+ for half the food drowned in sauce.

This cute, clean local establishment is capitalizing on the yuppie poke trend and doing a fine job of it. Friendly folks behind the counter with a plethora of fresh toppings. They offer a 10% discount to college students and military folks - both with ID proof. Seemed to be a good flow of customers grabbing takeout and a few other students opting to eat in the restaurant. I chose to make my own bowl with 3 proteins and a host of fresh toppings. If you are a sushi fan, you'll likely enjoy poke too. Give it a try!

Since moving back from Hawaii, I've had yet to find anywhere in the area that serves good poke bowls since I'm very picky when it comes to poke. This has DEFINITELY become my new go-to spot! You can get 2 or 3 types of protein along with up to TEN add-ons for less than $12, plus they aren't stingy with their portion sizes! SO worth it. They also offered us free fruit on the side! My favorite is brown rice, spicy ahi & spicy salmon with seaweed salad, edamame, mango, tempura flakes, nori, masago, & unagi sauce/sweet shoyu. I ate my entire bowl before I could even take a decent picture, but I've attached the happy hour specials for those who are interested! They also have punch cards which are 'buy 9 bowls, get the 10th bowl FREE'. I'll definitely be back for my 2nd... 3rd... 9th... & 10th bowl!

The shop is smaller than I expected as there are several businesses in the plaza. The owners have more than made up for it with a very clean modern decor. Dim lighting makes the in dining experience sensory friendly. When we walked in, the line was almost out the door. Most customers look like they are college students from the area. Service was quick and friendly and we made it to the order area within 10 minutes. The set up reminds me of Subway as you have base ingredients (rice, lettuce etc) and then you can individualize your bowl with choice of protein, veggies, fruit, dressing and toppings. You also have your choice of fountain drinks or bottled beverages. Their seating area is very small; but I never will fault a place for this as long as the area is clean. We chose to eat in house and were able to get a table with out any issues (it seems that most people take their bowls to go). Now I've heard of raw food movement, but never gave it much thought. One bite in and I was a total convert. My bowl had chicken, brown rice, corn, radish, red onion, cabbage, chick peas, mango, pineapple, carrots, cucumbers, green onions and probably 3 other things I can't remember. The different textures in the bowl were amazing and fresh. The hot and cold ingredients married well together. (Yes the chicken and rice are not technically raw) My only complaint would be that they only have one size bowl. I would love to be able to take some home for later as an option. I've included my first food pic. (It was an after thought after I dug in!) Prices are reasonable as well.

I use to have to travel an hour and and half to get delicious poke, but not anymore. This place definitely curbs my sushi/poke cravings and is super delicious. The only thing I would change, as other reviewers had mentioned, is that they should mix the sauces with protein choices and select toppings. Staff was super friendly and very considerate of any allergies you may have. I would definitely go back! read more

Coming home from a swim meet the kids were hungry... found this place and loved it. We all got bowls with rice at the bottom and several yummy toppings. The sauces on top were key. The poke bowls came with fruit including mango, pineapple, cantaloupe, and strawberries. We would all definitely come here again... the food was all amazing and the service was great. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a different and new place to eat... read more

Great selection of toppings and fresh proteins for fairly inexpensive compared to other Poké places, and is a well needed addition to Springfield. Joy Bowl has a ton of different sauces to top off your bowl, including things like eel sauce, spicy mayo, and sriracha aioli so you're bound to find one you love. The sauce is not mixed in for you like other places, but for the price, quantity, and convenience of it's location won't complain. Would definitely recommend stopping by on your lunch break for a quick fulfilling and relatively healthy meal! Edit: Removed a star as portions have gotten significantly smaller since opening. What was 3 scoops of protein used to fill the entire top layer of the bowl now covers maybe a third. Good for a quick lunch, but not very filling. read more

Joy Bowl is home to my first poke experience and the staff members were more than willing to guide me through the process from proteins, to toppings, to sauces. I ultimately created a 3 protein bowl that was delicious and very filling! I felt I got a great portion for the price and I can't wait to go back again soon. I am so excited/happy to see a poke place in Springfield! I've tried poke in several different cities and I must say, this place is great. I like how they don't cut you off on the toppings and the fish tastes very fresh. I usually just stick with the salmon bowl and load the toppings. Also, the inside is super cute and well decorated. My boyfriend picks me up a poke bowl from this location regularly and they always get it right! I love all the options they have, so something for everyone. I'm so glad this place exists because I had always hoped a poke restaurant like this would come out after my trip to Hawaii. I love joy bowl and the service it usually very good. Always satisfied. But today on august 19th at 2pm I went in to order 3 bowls and the two girls that were working were extremely rude and didn't seem to want to do their job. They complained under their breath because I wanted 3 bowls and the experience I had today was just not a good one. I felt like my order was just an inconvenience for them. Went here based on great yelp reviews and proximity to my son's school as we had time for a quick lunch offering him a good protein packed meal in a not so heavy manner, ideal prior to his baseball practice. Upon walking in, you immediately notice how clean this place is. The pictures and choices are nicely laid out and the products looks super fresh. We opted for salmon and tuna bowl and a spicy tuna and spicy salmon bowl with brown rice, lettuce, avocado, cucumbers, cilantro, carrots, cabbage, peppers and sea weed with the miso dressing and a splash of hot sesame oil. Absolutely fresh tasting and the combination of flavors is amazing. Great choices to pick from from proteins to veggies and dressings. I cannot wait to go back here and have another lunch date with my son and explore other proteins. Perfect healthy spot close to school offering so many other healthy protein options other than seafood and a great vegan alternative. Price is great and quality follows suite! I didn't know there were a few Joy Bowl locations around the area! I ordered from the Springfield location and it was amazing! Between the spring rolls, the Hawaiian classic bowl, and having Hawaiian Sun (my favorite beverage ever), it was all sooooo good! The food was fresh and at the perfect temperature, even on a hot summer day. Wow! I am so impressed with this local chain and everyone needs to try it! The amount of food and quality is fantastic! While the tuna wasn't my favorite, the salmon was so good! I also loved all of the sides, in particular the seaweed salad. The fact you can get as many sides as you want is amazing! Definitely recommend trying it! read more

I love going here. The service is always great and the deals and punch card make it worth it too. I feel that the portion size is really good. It's definitely worth a try and don't be afraid to make your own. The first time I went I got the Ahi Tuna bowl, the next time I went I changed up what was in the bowl making it my own. The place is clean and cute to take photos as well! read more

Prices were fair and service was prompt. The only difficulty was getting onto the right side of the divided road to get into the restaurant parking lot! It took me a couple tries.... However I am not the best driver so others may not have this issue! Thank you for a lovely experience! Springfield/East Longmeadow do not have a lot of cute coffee options so I would say this is a place to visit for a cafe experience. Coffee was good and bonus for having a mug that was the perfect latte mug, I actually sought it out and have it in my cart to buy online. (The cup does matter!!!!!) Would go to again, just wish they had more seating.

Yesterday I saw that they were open for business, so today for dinner, my friend, my daughter and myself decided to give it a try. We had never heard of a Poke style food and were willing to go! But to be honest, we read the menu on the website before coming in because while we are willing to try new things, we are not as brave as we pretend to be! When we walked in, there was an older couple sampling many sauces and items on the menu. The staff was patient and willing to help. It was nice to see we could try things unfamiliar to us (and many things here were new for us!) - but we jumped in and just ordered instead of sampling. My friend ordered a house suggestion bowl. My teenage daughter was a bit more cautious and made her own bowl with only a few things but she did try new items in her bowl. I had never had raw seafood before (well like this anyway) and had the salmon and shrimp. The shrimp is of course cooked... I wasn't as brave as my daughter and stuck with a variety of veggies I was familiar with but did asked the employee to pick out the sauces, just nothing spicy. We all enjoyed our meals! The price was well worth what we received and we will definitely be back again! I recently had to change my eating habits due to health issues and the food here was perfect because it was not salted to death. And I could limit and control the sauces to avoid what I wanted. Great customer service, Amazing especially the Hispanic worker with curly hair! Oh she's the sweetest, definitely made me want to come back, very knowledgeable on the food and menu. Answered all my questions and walked me through after so long of not being there. I wish I could've tipped her but not too long ago a few workers told me they don't receive tips?! It's absolutely absurd!!!!! They deserve all the tips they receive! What kind of evil person takes someone's hard earned money?! I've seen these employees work their tails off especially when it gets super crowded! Absolutely crazy especially in a time like this, they deserve that hard earned money. read more

This place is amazing. For $12 you can get 3 scoops of protein and that is so amazing compared to other places. It's a good addition to springfield because the lack of interesting places to eat at. You get a lot for how much you pay and it's really lovely. The workers here are so friendly, welcoming, and help so much. Joy Bowl is worth visiting, and you will not regret it. read more
