This place has delicious food and great service! This Poke and sauces are so amazing and the restaurant is a nice place to eat.

The place left me wanting. It' is fine.. just a few things it could do a bit better. The portion size is ok for the price. The seafood/fish selection is fine, they have salmon, tuna, cooked shrimp, tofu and smoked squid. The toppings are a good amount as well as a decent selection of mix-in. There seems to be a few random add-ons to the mix-in process $ wise. The fish is cut rather large for poke - 2/3 bite vs the one bite. Sauces are custom added so the poke isn't already mixed in. This Joy Pokè is located in a small shopping center that's near the bottom of a downward slope. Just to give you a little description about the parking lot, but in hindsight it was easy to find. Twice, I've been here. Once to try it out, the second time to remember if I ate here before or not lol. Here's a bit about this Joy Pokè location. The place is small, but clean for the most part. You start by selecting from the menu board up above. Pick the size bowl you'd like; Small, medium, large. Plus a base; White or brown rice, salad, or half-n-half. Then select the little sides like crabmeat and avocado or seaweed salad (there's more options). Third, you pick the type of fish you want for your protein. More veggie extras, add sauces like ponzu or shoyu or spicy chili. Then you complete it with toppings of your choice as well; Corn, roasted garlic, onion, furikake, etc. My bowl was prepared by the same guy as the first time, who's probably the manager or owner. Who seemed polite, but didn't say much to help with the selections. No big deal regarding services. I ordered a Large Bowl for $19.99 and added a $3 tip. The container felt a bit heavy, but it also felt like a medium bowl for the price. It was that, two large scoops of rice, but you felt a bit shafted with the amount of poke given to compensate for the amount of rice. Suggestion: Add all the extras and toppings I guess. The taste was decent, but wasn't enough to make me wanna come back any time soon. It's worth a try if you haven't been here. read more

Working in Portland for 2 weeks, I have been wanting poke but haven't seen any worthy ones. But caught this one and I worked 5 mins away so I decided to go. It was definitely worth it. A clean little spot. They really loaded it up especially with the seaweed salad ( and it tasted delish and flavorful). I also got two spam masubi (already pre-made in a heat oven) I was a little skeptical of it. But they turned out to actually be really good, plenty of sauce to keep it from drying and a great amount. i'm giving this place 3 stars because it did the job in keeping me full but there were a lot of cons that made me less than satisfied with my bowl. What I did like was the options, from the raw fish to the toppings and the sauces. What I was displeased with was the size the salmon was cut into (way too thick to the point it made me feel a little sick after a while), to the missing sauces! I asked for a total of 3 sauces and I only noticed the spicy mayo on it. It was extremely dry. Also, the way the cucumbers and onions were cut were entirely too big! Poke spots normally have them shaved or bite size, but not here. I don't think I will be back but maybe my experience was one off. read more

I had high hopes based on the previous reviews but was a bit let down. First, the food was not bad. I'm a Hawaii girl, so maybe I'm a bit picky, but there was decent flavor. It just had a little too much of an old fishy tasty, but the sauces helped. I liked it overall, but if you're charging me $15 for a small bowl of previously frozen fish, it better be good! Additionally, I'm not sure if that man working was having an off day, but he did not smile once. You'd expect a welcoming environment but he looked like he wanted to get his service done and move on with the day. I don't like that. Great food for a hot day! Instead of pre-set bowl combos, there is a 6 Step menu full of choices. If you're indecisive, this could be a nightmare. I got a medium (3 scoops of protein) on mixed salad. If you only get rice, the take-out box is smaller. You can also do half and half. I got 3 scoops salmon, which came in large cubes and was fresh. You can choose a different protein for each scoop if you want to. There are a lot of mix-in and topping options, which is nice for customization. I got seaweed salad and crab for Sides, but next time I will get edamame instead of crab. It is a great healthy meal without sacrificing taste. They have a pretty good selection of protein, sauces and toppings, which makes it possible to customize your bowl to your liking. Can't beat the location should be a hit! Learned it was the same chain as the one downtown, how is it? Not as good as the one downtown but a solid poke experience! Came in on a Saturday at prime lunch time 12:30 and were the only customer, hmm was it good? Will it stay in business ? Is the fish fresh? Surprised how empty the place is, not a good sign! Forgot how slow the process could be with so many choices, god help the line of you got a lot of indecisive people in front of you, I only had the wife, LOL Got a medium half and half, so cute the staff was so carefully setting the portions, funny how carefully he was, almost thought he was on camera, but surprise I didn't seem the ever watching cameras, hmm. How was the meal? Fish was fresh!!!! How was the selection of toppings, plenty to scratch every combo you'd want. How was the value, pretty good for fresh poke and all the toppings! Definitely prefer the Beaverton location; they chop up the food more. The tuna and salmon were in giant slices it was pretty gross to chew up! They charge for the miso soup which is weird because the other location doesn't and it's 6mins away. They don't have any booths only wooden stools and it's freezing cold inside. They don't have the complimentary hot tea or the water jug like the other location does. read more

Finally! A good poke place in the Beaverton area! There is an ample selection of protein, toppings, sauce and sides. For a small bowl, you can choose 2 protein choices and I usually opt for double salmon. The dried garlic and onions are cherry on tops; they added to the bowl in a refreshing way and enriched the flavor of the fish. Staffs are knowledgeable of the options presented and are highly efficient. I recommend adding more sauce in the future, especially for larger bowls! Will come back again :) read more

Let's see - I went at about 5:30pm tonight and it was dead. There is a nice large parking lot with plenty of spaces (this is in a strip mall). I was greeted as soon as I walked in. I purchased the medium sized bowl with two scoops of spicy tuna, 1 part regular tuna, onions, cucumber, green onions, avocado(extra charge) seaweed, all on a bed of mixed greens, topped with roasted garlic, and spicy & eel sauce. It's nice not having to go downtown for some poke. The flavor wasn't screaming good, but maybe I chose the wrong dressings. Staff was nice, quiet, and not very talkative. They could've probably explained the sauces/dressings or provided some recommendations because I'm sure there will be customers that will choose 2 delicious sauces but mixed together would be garbage. I've been to too many poke places growing up in Seattle and visiting Hawaii, so those are my benchmark. I thought the sides should be unlimited but only limited to two. Portion was still a good size. Interior was clean and hip. There was no wait; I arrived around 7:30pm on a weekday and it was pretty much empty. Tip 1 - Bring your own scissors or ask them to cut the salad pieces smaller. Clean. This is one of the main reasons for this four star review. I know maybe this is not a priority for most people out there, but there is something about a place that sells raw items where an extra touch of cleanliness to me is extremely important. Now, for the food. Nothing was extremely phenomenal about this, except that it was much more reasonably priced than most other Poke places I have been to in Oregon. Typically, a bowl this size (which is "small" at this restaurant) would be prices about $2 more than what it is here ~$10. This is nice also considering the fact that they do let you get all the toppings and sides for no extra price (unless you choose to pay extra to get extra). Then they tack on that free miso soup for extra measure so that was a nice little touch. As for efficiency, from the pictures it is pretty to easy to tell that no one was there besides us, so it was very quick. One lady commandeered the Poke bar and the cash register and we got our food very quick. The fish here also seemed decently fresh. I got the salmon and spicy tuna (the "small" comes with two scoops, so I got one of each). The salmon was fatty, and could have been cut into smaller chunks for my personal preference. The spicy tuna was mashed up and seasoned, and had a decently good flavor. I got the regular Yuzu sauce, and I would also recommend adding on the Creamy Sesame Dressing for some added flavor. For $10 I was pretty pleased, and a heads up for people who don't like to bus their own dishes, you'll have to do that here! read more

Due to COVID19, I decided to order on Yelp. Their page shows 2 options, delivery or takeout. I chose delivery and customized my medium poke bowl and drink. Once I finished adding everything to my cart, added payment option, it wouldn't let me check out (kept saying error). I thought there was a glitch so I changed my option to takeout to test my theory, which worked, but that's not what I wanted. I thought I could simply call in and cancel/edit my order, but nobody would pick up the phone. So I gave in and drove out to pick it up. I wouldn't have even ordered in the first place if they didn't catfish me with a delivery option Imagine if u made a mistake in ur order. They already charged u but u can't change/cancel ur order at all! There's no communication with the store owner so I wouldn't recommend using their delivery service. Additionally I was craving raw fish but this was the most expensive poke I've ever ordered! $17.49 total with $2 avocado. The presentation is nice but it's mostly salad. There was very few cubes of fish even though I chose raw salmon to be my protein twice. So overall its a standard price if ur looking for a filling meal, but not worth it if ur craving a real poke bowl with raw fish. read more

Pre COVID it was my go to for lunch where I can sip miso, eat pole, and people watch. I really like that the spicy tuna is spicy. It makes me sweat. It might be a little too spicy for some people but not worry, they have regular raw tuna as well. COVID, food still tastes great. I do miss the free miso soup but that's only offered for on site or it's an extra charge. I come here for the pole though so I'm okay with our without miso soup. The take out experience was smooth. I usually rate poke places based on portion sizes and variety because it's pretty hard to mess up the actual taste. Considering it's poke, this place's prices are quite reasonable and if you really wanted a bang for your buck you could split a large with someone. Much better value than Sea Sweets poke. I got a small with salad and 2 scoops of salmon with cucumber, masago, and the wasabi yuzu sauce. Left feeling sad I was done eating which is always a good sign.
