My husband and I came in to this location last night. I was personally unable to sleep since I was quite sore after my hour with Toni I think it was. We have been to similar spas many times and both of us left the exact opposite of impressed. In my case my experience was very erratic the massage was all over the place and went back-and-forth between being hard or not hard enough. We paid extra for hot stones and the bottom of my left foot is still in pain from having a very hot stone held in place for far too long. My husband paid for this upgrade as well and did not even get the stones. His massage was very light and uncomfortable as well. We didn't say anything at the time since there was both a language barrier and they need to speak quietly in the spa. We also tipped full price as well since we didn't really get to connect on whether it was a positive or negative experience. Outstanding reflexology place! Might be the best place I've ever been to for reflexology, actually! $25 for basically all-over massage for an hour - that is pretty standard. However the quality of the massage as this place beats the inconsistency of those at other establishments such as the ones right on the water in the Kirkland Marina area. read more

My friend and I came here to get some foot and body massages and left absolutely dazed. We actually only came to Joy Spa because the other place we went to at first didn't have any open spaces. (Our fault, I suppose reservations are important.) However, we called Joy Spa and they told us they would be able to fit us in so we were instantly shown to the beds. We opted to get the foot and body massage and it was an experience to lie down on the chairs and see stoic Asian men in matching uniforms. I like these type of massages because the men do not hold back on how strong they massage you. (I also like not having to strip..) The massage was strong! Very, very strong that I had bruises on my shoulder. But that's what I needed, especially since I had a painful knot on my left shoulder that the therapist worked on constantly. He never asked me any questions but I felt like I could tell him any time if I wanted him to ease on the power. (My friend's therapist did ask if it was too strong or not so maybe it depends on the person.) Overall, great experience, I love the open space. I would definitely go back when I'm in the Kirkland area again. read more

Place is okay, nothing very special. I came there on a Friday around 5pm and the place was very busy. The lady that was doing my massage must have been the owner because she kept on checking everyone in, talking while doing my massage. She did not concentrate much on my massage. The beds are very close together also, which feels like there is definitely no privacy. Also, the lighting seemed a little too bright, not very relaxing. Ok, after living here all these years, how did I miss this gem?!! This place is awesome! Clean and simple! No frills, all serious massage business. The owner Sara(h) is a delightful person. The masseuse don't speak fluent English, but they have a simple and clear menu, you can point to the service of choice and off you go! This is a cash-only place and the prices are unbelievable. That said, please tip well, they heavily rely on that. I got the # 1. The masseuse asked about pressure. After that she did a phenomenal job on my sore muscles that had been lugging my children. Remember to remove your watch, and jewelry. And remember to wear flow-y pants so that you can easily roll it up to your knees. Because if you get the #1, 2, or 3, you'll keep your clothes on, but roll your pants up. I cant wait to go back! I highly recommend this place. They've just earned a loyal customer! read more

The massage experience was very similar to the ones I regularly get in the Philippines. It chose the all over body massage for 60 minutes and had a very positive experience. The workers greet you with a smile and are very punctual. They give you the full hour experience for half the price of spa workers! I will never be going back to a spa massage anymore when I get a better experience here! This is my second time coming to Joy Spa and it definitely won't be my last! The ambiance is quiet and relaxing. The staff are very polite and accommodating. The foot massage is amazing. I usually have half an hour foot massage and the other half hour focused on my back, neck, and shoulders. Best of both worlds if you ask me. Perhaps there was a language barrier the last time I came in here...I don't know...either way, I gave Joy Spa another shot and have to update my review. I've been here quite a few times since the location is close to my home and also stays open later than most places on the east side. Full body acupressure has been much needed from weeks of working construction on the side....and this place truly delivers. I went ahead and booked a massage table in one of the private rooms. I have paid nearly twice as much for similar experiences elsewhere....the Chinese girl who gave me a massage was one of the most well trained I've ever had. She knew how to go deep without forcing, and started with a lot of myofascial stretches. I'll definitely be back. read more

Based on the great Yelp reviews and the fact that I had just ended a crummy week and had a wallet that was a bit on the light side - I decided to try Joy Spa. I feel like I found the greatest deal in the city. Now that may have been the post massage high, the fact that I could actually now turn my head, or stand up straight, or that my feet were suddenly friends with me again. Whatever the reason - I am a new devoted customer! For $25 plus tip I got a 1 hour massage. I asked for the foot massage, but while my feet were soaking, she worked on my neck, and then laid me back in the chair to work on my arms and hands. Then maybe 20 or 30 minutes on my feet and legs. Rolled onto my stomach and she worked on my neck, back and shoulders. All fully clothed - so I would suggest yoga pants or similar. Drink lots of water after to flush the lactic acid, but seriously - this is a great deal and unlike Humpty-Dumpty, I actually felt put back together again! read more

Wish he would have worked on my back a little more, less on my arms, legs, butt...because that isn't what I paid for. I used to see a massage therapist, and she worked on me hard, but it still felt really good. They just kind of rub really hard. Came here after a long weekend in Vegas to a well-deserved foot massage. Called ahead to make an appointment and was seated right away. We got the #2 which includes a 30-minute foot massage and 30-minute back massage (which was more like a full body massage) for $35. DEALS! Terrible! They have been steadily going downhill! Started coming from 2012! My last visit will be today! Not clean at all! Reusing towels for other patrons! Also it is intentionally dark as you will not be able to see how dirty the bed sheets are! They also keep switching between patrons! Really bad! Terrible back pain...Joy Spa is a MIRACLE!!! I had a full body deep tissue massage for 1 hour. Only $50! I came in without a budget because I was so desperate. Totally prepared to pay twice that for a 60min massage. I came on a Tuesday night around 8pm and was the only customer. I went a few months ago, and I really enjoyed my visit. It's a very relaxing, comfortable place, with comfy chairs, and the staff is very kind and attentive. I chose the 30 min foot / 30 min back massage, and I LOVED it. You absolutely can't beat the price, the location is fabulous for me, and I only had to wait about 10 minutes to get in on a weekday night. This place had everything I wanted. Booking an appointment was super easy- I had an instant response when messaging through the Yelp app for an appointment about two hours later. I went for the deep tissue massage and oh boy, my male masseuse delivered. It's been an hour or two since it ended and my muscles are so relaxed. The ambiance was also perfect, quiet water noises and a relaxing acoustic, instrumental soundtrack had me close to sleep, despite simultaneously experiencing the knots in my muscles being forced out. I get reflexology foot massages quite often but decided to try Joy Spa for a change. First of all, they were all very friendly and professional. The lady that answered the phone was so nice, and even remembered the phone conversation with my mom from that morning. The therapists were in matching shirts, clean(sometimes places like this they smell bad), and respectful. The inside had a great relaxing ambiance and smelled better than most Asian spa's as well. Great for your money. $25 can go a very long way here. You get a foot soak, massage and a whole body massage. The only down side is it's a public massage. If someone talks then you hear everything and can disrupt your relaxation. It was a great experience nonetheless. read more

So my wife and I came in here last night because she had the biggest knots in her neck/shoulder you could ever imagine. I have never been to one of these spas before just because from the initial look of it from the outside just doesn't seem right to me but as soon as we walked in I felt relaxed. The lights were dimmed, there was a soft water flowing stream noise in the background and it was very clean looking from what I saw. We both got the 1hr foot and back massage for $35....$35 to have someone rub my feet and back for 1hr ummmm yes please!! My expectations weren't super high because $35 for basically a full-body massage just doesn't seem right. He first started off by soaking my feet in warm water and started working on my arms/hands and then he took my feet out of the water and went to town on them. He rubbed my ENTIRE foot that I don't think he missed a single spot. When he was done squeezing/rubbing my toes he flipped me over and started working on my back, there was some pain involved just because he used his elbow around my shoulder blades and middle back areas but for the most part it felt pretty good. Holy cow this place was worth it. I have lived basically across the street from Joy Spa for almost two years and have always been too wary of a $25 hour long massage to try it out. Today, I had my Friday off with just relaxing on my mind so I decided to try it out. I got a shorter lady but holy cow was she strong. It was out in the open so it was not private but it was not an uncomfortable feeling. The music they play is very nice and the massage was extremely relaxing. Also, it was more like a full-body massage with an emphasis on giving a fantastic foot massage. Very professional, very clean, very good and wow it is cheap. 4 stars for now since I've only had one massage. Atmosphere: cozy and dark. I'm not sure if the person that posted it was too bright actually went to this salon. Every time I've looked in the place the lights have been dimmed with only a few lamps providing light. Chairs: Extremely comfortable. Way more comfortable than most massage tables I've been on. Massage: Amazing! I chose #2: 30 minute foot massage. 30 minute back. Even though it was a back massage he did a full body (focused on my back). I had huge knots in my shoulder blades and have never experienced relief from any previous massages. This is the first massage where the pain was actually gone after the massage! I love Joy Spa! Everyone is professional and the place is clean. I have been going there for over 2 years, I try to go at least once a month. I always get the #2 option (30 minutes foot and 30 minutes back). From head to toe, I feel relaxed and my body revived. The only bad thing about going is the fact it is a little sad when my hour is up. The people giving massages there are great! Peter is fairly new, but he is absolutely one of the best. My niece went for a massage & the person working there didnt cover her with a sheet, only a towel, I stopped by there tonight to ask to see their business license, not on the wall where public could see it.
