People are nice and great fun on Hibachi. But I do highly recommend a reservation for hibachi because seats are limited.

Couldn't wait to order espresso but all coffee service was "broken" Music is ridiculously loud and repetitive. Not a great place based on my first experience

The lacquered soup bowl and spoon are par for the course but the cast iron teapot and teacup give that authentic quality. So the miso soup is not as salty as I am accustomed to, but I believe that is a me thing, not a quality issue. The composition of seaweed and tofu is good. The salad has a ginger dressing which I appreciate, but my daughter didn't. Again, it's a her issue. The salad components were fresh. The sushi flavors were pretty good. So the fish is not as fresh as it would be in a coastal state or on an island. Hey man, this is the midwest! That being said, this is NOT grocery store sushi though, it is much better and much tastier than that. The flavors of the sauces are mild to allow the natural flavors of the ingredients to shine through, something that many places err in. Typical rolls have such overpowering sauces that the actual ingredients are unidentifiable. This place does not make that mistake. The spicy tuna roll is probably the best tasting spicy tuna roll that I have had in a very long time. Most places use sriracha as the main pepper ingredient, despite it not being of Japan origins. This spicy tuna roll has more of a togarashii based pepper base. As a result it has more of an authentic Japanese flavor. Yum! The staff are very nice, greeting you with a smile. They even ask if you would like a plate cleared away before taking the dish away...my husband has had instances where he wasn't quite done and the servers whisked the dish away neglecting to ask. They checked on us frequently as well. I also am pleasantly surprised that their last call for dine in is 15 minutes before they close. My daughter wasn't available to go out for dinner until 8:45 pm. This is 20 minutes away, so it was still open when we arrived and we didn't feel rushed to place our order.

The sauce had lots of flavor very good. The potstickers also or very flavorful with a great soy sauce and sweet-and-sour glaze on top. I got the pork chop on a basil risotto as well as my buddy got the same. Our chops were great. The risotto was just kind of plane nothing to ride home about. My wife got the chicken marsala with mashed potatoes. She loved the chicken the same for the mashed potatoes just kind of plain. The final person at our table got the shrimp Cajun pasta and she loved it. The reason for four stars is because the sides were just kind of plane. Our waiter Ethan was fantastic. He was quite the talker, and the suggestion on appetizers were spot on. I was kind of disappointed there was no dark beer selections on the menu. The restaurant sits overlooking a Japanese garden and the lake of the Ozarks the view is stunning. All in all the restaurant was quite good. Service was prompt. Had a very satisfying meal.

Our meals took an exceptionally long time to arrive. Throughout dinner, I was the only person at our table whose beverage was refilled not even water was refilled. Once our food was served, our server essentially disappeared. No one checked on our table, cleared empty plates, or removed used glasses or silverware. We remained seated with dirty dishes for the rest of the evening. When we finished eating, we waited approximately 40 minutes just to receive our check. During that time, the rest of my party eventually left while I stayed behind to settle the bill. After paying, I waited an additional 20 minutes for the complimentary birthday dessert that had been promised to my daughter. When the food runner walked out of the kitchen with the desert in a bag she was literally swinging it back and forth. In total, I spent nearly an hour sitting alone at a table covered with dirty dishes. Throughout that time, not a single plate, glass, or piece of silverware was removed, and no employee checked on me. Before leaving, I quietly attempted to speak with the employee at the hostess stand about our experience. She appeared unsure of how to respond and simply stood there without saying anything. I thanked her and walked away. Once again, no one apologized or even acknowledged how disappointing the evening had been. I spoke with the front desk at the resort as well as the Director of Rooms who assured me that the Director of Food and Beverage would be reaching out to me to discuss the issues my family and I encountered. I waited to post a review as I wanted to give HK's to have the chance to reach out but they never did not.
